What it's going on YouTube steep in a salon guy here and don't mind my arm here. If you don't mind you, okay, so in today's video I'm going to be showing you guys, the perfect, sweeping bang and how to achieve it so whether you're, a hair stylist. This would be great for you guys or, if you're a client. This is gon na be helpful to you. So you know. Maybe you can show this to your stylist, so I'm ready to go. Let'S get started. So, let's start with the sectioning now, depending on how you're wearing your hair or, however, your client is wearing their hair, really really really depends, okay on this fringe, okay or sweeping bang. So if they're wearing it over to the side, you know you may only be able to cut it off of a parting. Alright, like it's the kind of a steep parting. This way, if there are in same thing, on this side, if they're wearing it you know more like in the middle, is not really much of a part, and you know they want to be able to be kind of diverse with bringing it over a bit more Than you know, this would be kind of ideal, but the key is is to really make sure that you understand where you're bringing the hair from all right. The further back. You go here on the top, the thicker it's going to be. You just want to make sure that you're not really going too deep in through the corners or the side in through here, because you want this to all work into the shape. All right, you want to make sure that it has a nice flow and it's sweeping over. That'S really the essential part of it all. So you you want to have this connected to the haircut meaning. Do you want this to sweep into the the sides or do you want to be separate? That is really the most important thing, because if you're going to keep it kind of separate meaning it's not going to be attached or connected to the sides and through here, then you know you may be able to cut it to here and it's gon na be Its own, its own kind of you, know piece of the haircut its own feet highlight of the haircut. If you do want it to work in and sweep into the sides, then you know you really have to take it and can into consideration and say, like okay. Well, we want this to sweep into this, so you need to whether you're, if you're a client, you need to really verbalize that to your stylist and if you're a stylist, you have to ask you know: do you want to blend in through the sides and have Everything sweep over what we're gon na do here today is reaction to keep this completely disconnected and because I really want you to understand the whole kind of functions throughout this technique and how it really is gon na be helpful. So if you're cutting us on you know longer hair, whatever you're gon na see that it's really gon na work out nicely. So what I like to do first is depending on the thickness and the density of the hair. You may need to cut this into two sections, meaning like you may have to split this in half, because it's way too thick, you know and do it kind of you know your base first and then your next section on top of that, sometimes you can do It all in one shot, you know, so you have to really look and evaluate on. You know how much, how thick of the section it is, and if it's, if it's too much hair it'll, be it'll, be very, very obvious. It just won't. You won't be able to comb it easily. So let's begin with the haircut. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to establish my length and my guide again now, if we cut this here right, if we're gon na wear this on a side part all the time, we need to make sure we're cutting us on an angle going Shorter to longer into here now I know this might be somewhat of a contradiction to some people how I'm going to cut this, but I'm really going to break this down, for you guys and what I, when I cut a fringe or bang literally it's it's like A whole separate haircut for me, I put so much work just into this so yeah, so you want to make sure that you know I'm really putting a lot of work into it and it's that's, what's really gon na pay off. So, let's start with the first cut right in through here now. What I'm doing is I'm gon na actually start here, and you really want to pick a spot where you want to start. If it's too long, then it's going to be still in her eyes. You want to make sure again that the whole sweeping thing is that it's got to be able to sweep over. If it's too short, then it won't. So I like to pick a spot right kind of on the bridge of the nose and what I'm doing is I'm cutting it on an angle like this all right - and here we go this last piece right through here. So now you probably look at you going. Oh, we've got a nice sweeping bang. There is it's done, no, we're not not even close to being done. What I'm going to do - and this is where some of you guys may be like wait. This doesn't make any sense. I am going to actually cut this corner right into here. All right, I'm gon na get rid of this little corner and I'll explain to you why, in a second so now, we've got the base the foundation of the sweeping fringe, we're just getting started. Folks, we're just getting started so now. What I'm going to do is I'm going to now. We have to layer this all right. We have to layer this, so we're all really working in this condensed section. So what I'm doing is I'm combing this straight up and there's all that hair right on top of this section? That needs look needs to come off right here. This is all heavy heavy weight and then what I'm going to do is I'm going to comb everything to that one section right in through here and let's take this whole piece here and we're gon na pull this all the way to our guide right. I'M gon na comb this all the way, so this is traveling all the way back here. Let me get straight up and what this is doing. It'S removing all of that excess weight throughout the top, and that is going to allow the hair to move all right. Now, let's see what we got here when we comb this over, so we're gon na bring this all down. Let'S brush this over and as you could see, we've got a nice really. Nice sweeping fringe all right. That'S just comb this all down and the hair is really really responding beautifully now. The reason why I did this as you could see if this hair was blocking it from sweeping over and we left this longer here. It'S not gon na really sweep all right when you think of sweeping what does that mean? You want it to come around, see how it's coming around by cutting that little corner. That'S darling allowing that to happen now, if you wanted to wear it on the other side, all right, what we can do is do the same thing, but I have a totally different approach. All right, you can actually watch one of my other videos and end up from my what I did a long time ago is. You know sweeping Bank tutorial, you can see by cutting it in the middle, how it allows you to kind of wear it both ways, but what I'm going to do now is I'm actually going to bring this completely straight up this way, you're gon na bring this All straight up and what this is going to do it's going to actually remove even more weight. Okay, it's gon na remove even more weight right into here, and there we go so now. What we're doing with this is we're really giving it a true sweeping kind of area sweeping fringe sweeping bangs and now what I want to do is I want to blow-dry this and show you guys how it looks when it's completely finished now a little trick. What I want to show you guys is sometimes if you just use the blow-dryer to start right and if you're, if you're finishing up the haircut, I would oh, I always say, use this blow-dry. This part, first all right, because sometimes people's fringe area or bang area can be very, very tricky. So I like to say this: a people is get this out of the way. First, this way that looks good. Sometimes the hair lays differently in the front. You know it's a very you know, you never know how it's going to react. The bangs can be very, very moody, alright, sometimes so what I like to do is stand kind of almost directly in front of the client and blow-dry everything straight down this way. Alright, we're blowing it all straight down and we're going to get this nice and smooth and then we'll take a look and see what we got going on here. We have the blow-dried fringe area and, as you noticed, I used a few different brushes. I used a round brush to kind of smooth it out a little bit, and then I went back in with a flat brush just to kind of really flat this down a bit. Alright, you're still gon na get some volume, but I really wanted to create more of a smoother type flatter look right in through here and then what you do is you work this over with your hands and you allow for it to kind of sweep into itself. This way, alright, so now we're going to do is we're going to remove some weight and we're gon na remove the weight from the top and through here, because we want to keep that solid line again. This is mannequin head is very, very thick hair. So you know it is a bit on the thicker side, but, as you can see, by removing some of that weight, the top-heavy weight here it allows the hair to sweep a bit more freely. Alright, it allows me here to sweep over a bit more freely, which is very, very helpful for the overall look. Alright there's no product into here, but you know you could spray it with some hairspray stuff like that. But we want to remove the weight from the area, that's prohibiting it from going over all right, not necessarily too much down to here. You want to keep this kind of a bit more on the solid side, but it's from the top, which is creating that weight. Alright, so what I'm doing now is I'm just going back in and I'm going through the entire section just to make sure that everything is perfectly blended perfectly balanced. There aren't really any you know heavy areas you want to make sure it's got that perfect flow to it. You'Ve got them. You want to make sure you've got that sweep right in through here again there's that sweep right there. You know if you could bring us all down this way, so you could see it's completely separated from the rest of the haircut, which is what our goal was, and you know there's no product and I whatsoever, but I just want to show you guys. You know kind of the results of what a true kind of a sweeping bang is and my my whole approach to it. So there we have it alright, you thank you guys so much for watching. Let me know in the comments below, if you enjoyed this, if you picked up a few tips - and you know I know a lot of ladies out - there are gon na try to attempt this on your own. I mean I always suggest going into a professional. If you do want to try this on your own, I don't take any responsibility whatsoever. I wish you luck, but I hope you found this helpful. So let me know in the comments below if you actually use this technique, so thank you guys so much for watching. Don'T forget to Like comment and subscribe and I'll see you next time for more videos with this long guy,

Karina Diaz: The salon guy: “maybe you can show this to your stylist” Me in quarantine: “I am my stylist”

Nicole K: Great video! I've been cutting my own bangs for years and they would always be too thick at the bottom corner, rounding them off like you suggested at 4:54 really did the trick. Thanks!

Sheri Thiede: Man you have perfect timing. I'm retired after 30 years and my 18 year old daughter just asked me to cut her bangs. I've been doing her bangs most of her life but I have noticed just lately how heavy they're looking. So thank you so much for having spot on timing.

Tabitha Pacheco: Thank you for this tutorial!! My daughter's bangs came out perfect!

Lety: I just used your techniques to trim my bangs! Thank you you’re such a life saver!!!❤️

Solo Unavez: I cut my own bangs using this tutorial and they turned out fabulous! Thanks!

Lisa Anne: My mom is a retired stylist, I’ve been to numerous salons and I’ve been going to my current stylist for years...none have been able to cut a side bang. So, I’ve done it myself for years. I’ve watched thousands of videos, but this one is on the money!! Where have you been all my life!?! Thank you so much!

Irai Molina: Just did my toddlers bangs. Came out so good! Thank you!

Nancy Ellerbrook: You are great! I am going to try this. I curl my bangs back like “Jane Jetson”, so it’s a little different direction for the hair, but I like the angle cut you did. Excited to try this. Thank you so much!

m1nt: LOVE your tutorial, I really did achieve the perfect side swept bang. Honestly doing this myself is gonna save me like $30 every 2 months

Digitalhunny: Just did it on my own! It looks fantastic. You're truly the greatest. Thanks love ya.

Lynda Gil: Well, I have gone to beauty salons to get my bangs cut and have taken pictures to show them what I want and I get something totally different. So, yes your tutorial has been very helpful, muchas gracias!

Stevie Michelle: Perfect video, ty for sharing! I’ve cut my own hair before, and I bleach it platinum on my own, but I can’t ever seem to get the weight off the parts I want to. I keep my hair long, and I always run a “test” cut by taking off way less than I intend to remove, just to make sure that it’s still long enough to have some wiggle room once I get it right. I was done and happy by the end of the video, and that time included a follow-along test cut, seeing it work, and going through with doing it the length I wanted. Stylists like you are a godsend! I can’t ever seem to find anyone to do anything the way I want. Saving this one for next time

tmsouth1: Great video and very clear instructions!! Thank you! I have tried several other videos that didn't work but this one worked. Thank you so much!!

H N: Many thanks I recently went to my local hairdresser who is stuck overseas, I got the usual hair cut long down to my back with apparently swept fridge only to come home and realise it was cut very straight, due to my heavy brunette hair this made it even heavier. Too afraid to go back, I took up the challenge of bravery watching your video and, WA’la many thanks to you my hair looks amazing !

Karen Garcia: Very simple, clear technique....thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

Sasha Thompson: Thank you for sharing, my hair grow so fast I trim my bangs myself between visits to the salon. This was so helpful. Thank you

Laurie Conner: Very helpful - I like that you go step-by-step, explaining as you go!

lmcwill0502: I have had bangs nearly my whole life , I had to laugh at your comment, "bangs can be moody" how true. And I have always felt the bangs always need more attention, and skill.

I R: Love it, thank you. I am not professional but always cut my own hair. I did it and it worked.

GingerKnots: so this totally saved me ! wow...... I've been cutting my own hair for 15 years and I watched this and now my hair looks amazing! I went to the salon for them to fix the side of my head that I shaved today and the lady said I did a great job on my bangs that she didn't even need to touch them! This video saved me an extra 10$$ !!! thank u so much!

Michelle Cooke: Thanks for this video. Just cut my bangs and they came out great!

Theresa Ross: I could not convince my stylist to cut a sweepy Bang that I wanted. After watching your video, I was able to cut my own hair the way I wanted & I love it! Thank you for sharing this tutorial....

Toni DeBella: Did it myself! Looks great. Thanks

etherius moon: Yessir! Developed a similar way to cut my bangs but I had forgotten since it was years ago. This is very similar. Will be doing this, thank you

elenaadorno76: Thank you for your tutorials! They are so helpful.

Shana h: I love the precision haircut. I wish more stylists had this approach

Beckyann: Yes I did , I learn so much from you, with all other hair cut that you do , love you keep teaching us , I appreciate all your teaching thank you !!!

Christina Cordova: Thanks for the video! I was getting frustrated with my bangs and on a whim got on YouTube and came across your vid. Cut my bangs before I went into the shower, these are the best bangs I’ve cut on my own. It’d be even more of a plus if you actually cut my bangs though. But I’m for sure pleased.

Jess Gonzalez: Thank you for all of the bang videos! I've had a lot of clients who are getting bangs for their summer hair style. Could you do a video on textured bangs (Hayley Williams style)?

North Caroline: Definitely going to start practicing this! Thanks for sharing

Karen Garcia: Tried this technique and it came out perfecto!!!!!

LeAnn's Fear Cocktail: The last time I rocked the bangin bang look I was 12. I too am bored of living the quarantine lifestyle and want to do something different and drastic. Well I guess not too drastic... that's why I'm only cutting my bangs. It feels like I've watched a million how to videos, but decided to try your method. Thank you for the tutorial!!!

elle_lc: Love your videos! very instructive and real!

Power.of.Compassion: Perfect! Thank you so so much! :)

That one Random: You did great explaining nice work!

L Ga: I was hoping that this might help me in my case to style side bangs because I am trying to watch this late at night to see if this is the kind of bangs I do have. (I just found the video for your channel about how to possibly stop some flipping ends. I usually don't learn how to tame this effect)

TheMeme0208: this was an excellent tutorial

Pretty Rice: At 4 mins everyone’s screaming please cut already pleeeeasse

Oz: I tried it myself and I’m crying thank you though!!!

Krysila: Have you done a video on Tiffani Thiessen's hair in Saved by the Bell? I'd love to know how to get my bangs to look like hers. Gorgeous!

Natasha Perry: Scared to try this but going for it. Let’s hope I don’t mess up

Jennifer Skiff: Fantastic. Thank you!!!

Valerie D Hodson: Thank you that was very helpful

Pelagius Kmshun: Thanks I learn so much from you.

SkyCaptain Luna: Everything your saying is exactly what I try to explain to every salon I go to and they always say some bs like how I don't know what I want or thats not how bangs are cut or I went to school for cutting hair I've been doing it for --- years ....... yeah but I did research to see what I want and I've had these bangs for many years and thats what I want!!!!! But every time they cut them they make them straight across and style them that way or they cut them to short and blow-dry them under so they don't swoop they always curl under. its so hard to find someone to cut them properly.....

Sherry Hall: Yes I’m going to try this when I get back to the salon. Thank you.i would like you to show me a long sweeping bang. Thank you.

Sylvita Gomez: it would be much more helpful if you discussed the angle of the shears and the proximity of the shears in relation to the length from the scalp, etc.. And the very basic yet essential way the shears should be held. i know you have a video for each of these techniques but having to watch 10 videos to accomplish the side sweep is a bit much. for a pro, i know this isn't a problem but as a novice, it's recorded in real time (too fast). i'm not trying to be over critical and I appreciate you for sharing your expertise. thank you.

afsha khan: Woowwww love the way you explained.... I will try it

Atticus Finch: The corners. That seems to be a trouble spot for a lot of cutters.

JWG Ltd: Tried it and now understand why the layering is important. My hair has got thinner but it worked really well but I advise tries start the length and guide longer and then stop. There no undo!

collins ochieng: Amazing haircut bang.when you elevate above the forehead and blunt cut does that finish the angle you created in the first place?otherwise nice work.

Alex Sammon: Nice, really versatile technique.

Per Zer: Came here to watch this AFTER I just horribly cut my own bangs

Fran Martinez: I liked the bang before you took all the weight off plus it swept over better when you first cut it...what I'm looking for is a bridgette bardot bang ..where it is a bit shorter in the middle and blends into the rest of the hair sides....I cant seem to find any one who can show a easy way to do this type of bang. Thank you Steven..ur one of my FAV'S..⚘

Arelis Hernandez: Only did the first two steps cuz I know myself and knew I would end up with NO bangs... happy with that tho

Bidyut Das: Thank u sir it was just amazing

Kristine Lenceski: Can you do a video on cutting side swept bangs for a round face, thin hair and receding hairline with large forehead? It’s a mouthful of course but also if the bangs can be thicker looking ( going back more) with lots of volume on top of head. Hair is shoulder length... or even offer some tips in a message thru messenger or a reply here would be great. If you did a video like this ( even though many facets to what is asked) can you tag me in the comments section? Thank you so very much!

JeanC25: Estuvo muy bien al hacer el primer corte se veia el flequillo muy bonito, despues corto y corto y la cago

EmKayFour: I don't really like the way it looks, but it's definitely way better than mine

Elizabeth Witterstaeter: I did try it on myself ‍♀️ annnnd I now have very short sweeping side bangs

Nikki Brown: This was great! i have a video request! Could you do a video on the topic of first time bangs for teenage girls, or any woman for that matter. i have a teenager with all one length hair down past her bottom. she wants to try a gentle bang to see if she will like it something like a long side swept bang that she could grow back in if she hates the hair in her face. what would you suggest for a first time bang with extremely long hair with no layers? please hurry, LOL!!

Pinky Paradise: I love it so pretty

Meet Your Stylist: LOVE THIS!

Karen Kearney: Dude you are awesome. Thank you!!!

Janet Sydoruk: I cut too much off from my sides. Looks like three hairs hanging down from ear to the front. I guess non quick fixes for that

annie lin: I love it!

G GG58: I have never heard of bangs, I’ve always called it a fringe!

Joey B: Could you show an instructional flattop haircut on Daniel? It would look great on him and would like to see how you do it. I know it can be hard but I would appreciate it.

Virginia Hilman: Every hair stylist cuts too far back no matter where I go my bangs are always too heavy

Wjoud: I just think its way thick for a bang. Maybe sweeping works better with smaller section especially if the hair is thick like that. Anyway thanks!

quest808: What about men’s hair with faded sides but want a longer fringe?

Zepp: Thanks, I needed this for a cosplay

C V: Camila Cabelo or Bridget Bardot bangs tutorial, please!! ‍♀️

Katinka Belle: The shortest section does NOT sweep with the rest of the fringe. Can't imagine a customer who wants a finish like that. But maybe one day there will be one...or never.

Robbie Moreland: I'm sorry, Steven, but if my bangs looked like that after a haircut I'd be pissed! They're still too thick at the top. They're still covering the eyes: she's not a sheepdog! And they would drive me nuts!

IDIOT SANDWICH: I feel like the bangs come from pretty high. But it is a mannequin so the hair is always super thick.

Angelica Malaran: I watch your video every 3 months hehehe i love my bangs

Hope Jurgens: Can you do a haircut for long, oblong and heart shaped face?

Marian Parr: Great video!

Gerardo Chavez _GV: I love all of your videos. Could you please do a Jon snow (kit Harrington) long hair, hair cut

Amy Wheelock: Thinning shears on the ends! Noooooo! My styist has done this to me and it looks all choppy on the ends. On women with thick hair it's fine. Mine not so much. Nooooo!

Rosalinda Galva: I like your videos!

little cupcake: I like it❤

littleherron: If you have thinning hair, should you be taking off the weight still?

sandra: Cut it across the forehead feathery , then when u put it to any side , it becomes a side bangs .

genie121: My hair is thick and when some stylists just chop and don’t layer the bangs! Omg it looks awful! And my bangs don’t sit right
