Hey guys Steven is long gone here and have any requests. I'Ve been getting some requests for some bang videos. Now I've done some in the past. You can search for wispy bangs. You can search for Taylor, Swift, bangs, I've done some of the past, but this one is really cool and I'm a huge fan of her Zooey Deschanel she's got these really cute bangs, but there's a unique twist. So what were we doing today? So, let's get started all right. What I've done here is I've created a pretty far back triangle section at the high point of the head and came down to the corners of the eyebrow, which usually is where bangs start. This is a mannequin head. So every one things different, obviously it's not human, so everyone's different. So what we're gon na do now is we're gon na actually just cut this all in pretty much one shot here. You might want to take this in two sections. If you don't feel comfortable, so you can split this up into two like this. If you feel more comfortable doing it this way, but sometimes if you get it more in one one shot everything pretty much remains. You know relatively even and on point, so I'm just pretty much combing this all out like this calming it down. Now I'm gon na switch to the white teeth. Now there you can see I'm gon na lock it in all right, lock the hair in, and that is where you're going to actually start to cut. So we're gon na leave use a little bit longer because Zoey likes to wear her bangs a little bit longer. But just to be on the safe side, all right, there's we're going to gauge everything right there, as you can see that it's probably on on the bridge of the nose there's even with the eyes and what we're gon na do is just lock our comb in Place and now we're just going to cut everything pretty much straight across and you don't want to stop. You want to keep going and again. Your comb is pretty much the ruler of everything. Okay and there we have it so there might be. Now is the time we can go in. If you have any kind of stray pieces, you can cut them like so all right and then brush this all this excess hair. Out of the way you always want to make sure you're you're, especially if you're dealing with clients, you want to get any excess hair kind of out of the way, so you keep their face nice and clean now. Here is what we have just like this. Okay again, this is on damp hair. What I'm going to do now is now she's got. You know, I think some layering in there, and also she has them kind of wispy alright. So I'm just gon na go in like this and just notch into it, with my with my sheers, just to create a little bit of of a softer edge. Just do some point cutting like this. Alright and now. What I'm gon na do is pick the hair up this way. Okay, I'm gon na raise everything up, and that is going to allow me to soften up all right. I'M gon na soften up the weight here. Alright - and here is the weight right here and I'm just gon na simply cut that off. Okay, let me turn this a little bit more. This way for you, here's we're just removing the excess weight. You'Ll be able to see it there. It is on top there. Just adding some slight layering to this, so it's not so heavy on top and you're. Basically, the good thing about this is that you're working within a confined area, so everything is pretty much right in this one space right here. So you have. You have a consistent working area when you're cutting this, so you don't get to kind of lost or confused as to where you're cutting or how much you're cutting so continue on the other side. Here once you're done with that side, and then you can do this last section here pretty much, you can almost comb everything up into one point, just to kind of check and see where you're at and everything should be pretty well balanced. You shouldn't really have much of anything longer pieces or anything, so you should be prima on on the right track here. Okay, sometimes again, you will see pieces that need to be trimmed off and you can just do that by eye, basically all right now. What I want to do is just dry these a little bit here and then we're going to go in and just kind of soften them up a little bit with things all right. So now we've got our fringe pretty much complete here and, as you can see, sometimes she wears it pretty much like this and if you just kind of separate them with your hands like this, you can kind of create that you know separated. Look that she has sometimes - and it's just really using your hands, but you know a lot of times it's way too thick. So here's what we do. I'Ve got the thinning shear right here and what we're gon na do is going to come in here and we're just going to start to remove some excess weight right through the front here all right, we're gon na soften up these edges. Just so, we can have a little more freedom and movement now. You can also take this up like this with your hand and remove some excess weight that way all right because they hit because it's so far back the fringe. It is very, very heavy right on the base, so we need to loosen this up in order to make it more a little softer and more movable. So now, as I'm picking it up, it's not as heavy all right, but you still have that that solid. You know fringe line or that that solid bang line that you're looking for okay, but now you're, allowing it to have more movement to it and that's the key to this whole look is allowing these bangs here to have a good amount of movement to them all Right now see how we're able to get more of that kind of that peekaboo look or that kind of wispier look and we're allowing it to have more freedom and flexibility. All right, which is how Zoe's bangs are so I'm just gon na kind of go in here and again. You can keep doing this until you really feel that you've got the right amount because again, when you take it this far back the fringe is relatively heavy. All right, but you don't want to do too too much at once - just working it kind of through the ends here and just so that you can have that really more refined, somewhat peekaboo. Look all right! So I'm going to show you a couple of different versions of how to get that look. So, as you can see here here, one look where you're just kind of piecing it and separating it through just your hands like this and also working it over and kind of working that those finer pieces that you cut by just simply kind of spreading out the Bangs here on the fringe area like this, so it just kind of opens it up a little bit like that see. There'S there's one way of doing it. Next, I've got a hair cream which allows the hair to have a little more softer, hold a little more movement and pliability. I'M just kind of working it in like this, so you've seen how she's got her fringe a little more solid like that, and also what I noticed she likes to do sometimes is really really piece out the fringe and in some of her more recent looks I've Seen it she's got pretty large, you know larger sections like this that are just kind of worked in and hand separated to create these nice little points into here. That'S another! Look that I've seen too, so this is pretty much a great way to worry. To wear your fringe, but this is something I feel is a great way and a great method for his always bangs. So thank you so much for watching guys and I'll see you soon for more videos with the salon. Guy

ellyze francisco: Great tutorial! However, I have one minor concern. Doesn't zooey usually have face frames? two small pieces of hair longer than her bangs on each side of her face, usually down to her cheek. I'm asking because in my experience, this is usually where hair dressers mess up

Madeline Lore: Wow, this is awesome. I used these techniques on my bangs and they came out perfect!!

DB: Great video! I cut my own fringe in recently using your tutorials, thank you! I currently have quite wispy bangs and am nervous about taking the triangle section too far back on my head - where is safe to go to? I'm not sure where the 'high point' is due to my rounder head shape! Also, could you advise on whether a blunt cut, heavier bangs or more wispy bangs is better for a round-ish face? I already have them in a curved shape which seems to look good...

Livia Cid: Oh my god thank you soooo much! I've always cut my bangs myself but it was always side swept, and never blunt bangs like this, as i was afraid of ruining it. I went to the salon and they made a mess :( one side is shorter than the other and it's really weird. Definitely will use your tutorial to fix it once they grow a bit! You're the best! Keep up the great work!

penjenta: You are AWESOME! I love your tutorials and appreciate your work and sharing your talent with us.

Ash Saenz: I've been doing the twist & cut way for a while, but I like this so much better on me. Especially lifting the hair up and cutting the weight off. I think that made a huge difference! Really like them.

ena kleefeld: As always you share only the best and most interesting parts of hair design... You are a perfect teacher...dont stop...we all need you. And you are the best. Thankyou, Cheers, Ena!

Jeheffiner: My fringe has never looked quite right, but I used a different technique - going to attempt this one now, fingers crossed :D

Autumn Lebeouf: Hey Salon Guy! I love you're videos so much. I have a request that would be really awesome if you could do, and its Jesse McCartney's haircut when it was long. Keep up the amazing tutorials!

sparklytiara101: Love your videos! Can you please do a tutorial for Jessica Alba's long bob, smooth and textured versions?

Jennifer Harney: What type of cream do you use? Also, I blow dry and straighten my bangs a lot. Do you have styling products to suggest to avoid damage from excessive heat? Thank you!! Great video :)

Hudi: Obrigado pela aula.

Ariya Grace: This tutorial is the BEST! thank you!

Stephanie Collins: I think the thinning depends on how thick the client's hair is. For instance, mine is very fine and thin, so I barely need any thinning.

Shanna Norris: I thoroughly enjoyed your video and wished more stylists could do this cut. I went in for a cut, had pictures of Zooey to show my stylist and asked to have 'her look'. I got thin bangs and they almost look uneven. I'm thinking next time I go, I should ask for the stylist to watch your tutorial!! Is that asking to much?! Is that rude to ask so that I make sure I'm getting the cut I want? I feel I should go back and have them fix it for free but I feel bad doing that.

Olivve Juice: I didn't have the thinning shears but I think it still turned out pretty well. I did it on myself!

Tajaira Candelaria: Thanks loving the bang look:)

Bluebloodberry: I did it!! love it!!! :D

sixxeggsmilkspiller: Please, please, please, do a tutorial on Julianne Hough's short hair. Its like a short wavy bob and I'm obsessed with it!

Noorah Alkh.: I was hoping to see the side layers as well. They seem like a part of her bangs.

DancinPrincessXOXO: Never stop what u do. Your really great

Courtney Case: Awesome, thank you!

maribel moya makeup: I will try it for me ! Very good job

Vanessa Guzman: Great job! I want these bangs! I have thin hair, do you think it will work or any tips?

PandaPants1101: Do you have any suggestions for "training" bangs to do this?  I've always parted my hair down the middle and the few times I have attempted bangs - they still part.. Thanks!

Monique Tatum: Well Done ! I luv it & I wanna have A 1 (:

anghelita jensen: hello i really liked what u done in here...im just wondering what cream did u use to make the hair stay in its style

miat789: How do you get those longer parts on the side? Where the fringe looks like an upside down U.

Allie.J.Clara: OMG I LOVED <3

Bekky N: How do you thin the fringe without thinning shears? Thanks

Bre B: I thought that when cutting bangs, it's a huge no to just cut staight across. You have to cut them in an arch shape so it looks natural and gives more volume...

kay9man159: I don't have that special tool to thin out the ends, can i use anything else to do the same thing?? Thanks!

Elisabeth Wawersik: Yay! Thank you so much! :)

Sandra thy: This guy can't be real! I don't cut hair professionally but I have cut my own bangs for 20 years! Basic knowledge that you never ever would drop or slip your comb hand mid cut! Thats Why his right bang side is longer, you see him attempt to fix in the end but unsuccessful.

peter huang: I Love bang look:-D

AllergicRants: The best part of the video is drying the hair (I can never get mine like that), and it's not explained =(

Lexie Marie Lopez: Thanks!Luv Bang Look! <3

peter huang: I Love bang look:-D

🦋Official. Butterfly’s🦋: I am curious, why not just make a smaller/shorter triangle of hair to cut rather than thin out the thickness (after the fact).

Natalie Campbell: Do you think if I have medium curly wavy hair that I would be able to get fringe bangs?

Nathalie: Great vid!

Seraphina Phoenix: Would this work with a cowlick?

Theresa Floresca: i want that thick but i was scared what its gonna be.

Rem Geo: I have a small square face, will these bangs suit me?

ru ra: does this kind of bangs look good on a really chubby/fat face?

Aliah Cuevas: It’s 2018 Zooey

Kevin Tu: Zooey Deschanel

me n me: I stopped styling my hair this way when I was ten. I don't think it's an adult hairstyle

ds: Thx

North Mann: T6jefe

Lara Belinda: poorly staged
