Bangs are super high maintenance. Get them cut once, and you'll find yourself having to go back every few weeks. Trimming your own bangs at home can save you a lot of money and time, and I'm going to show you how to do it!

Hey guys, banks are super high maintenance. Once you get them cut, you will probably find yourself going back to the hairdresser's at least once in three or four weeks, if you're trying to maintain your bangs, which, in my opinion, is a huge waste of money and time because banks are so easy to trim Yourself at home, it is super, quick tech, so deal effort, and once you know what you're doing there's so little chance of it going wrong. So I'm going to show you today how you can trim your own bangs at home, save a lot of time and a lot of money. So let's get start it right away. You are going to need a comb, preferably a rat tail one, some good haircutting scissors. You can get these at drugstores or, like beauty wholesale places, I'm also going to use some hair clips just for demonstration purposes. So the first thing you want to do when you're going to trim your own bangs is to separate out your bangs from the rest of your hair and when you're doing this, it's really important to mind the shape in which your bangs work, so mine are cut In a triangle, so let's seek them out, so you want to make sure that this shape is clean so that you don't cut more hair than you wanted to or you don't forget any hair okay. So I've got a clean triangle out. So I'm just going to clip away this hair so that I don't have to worry about it and call accidentally cut that as well all right. So these are my bangs now, as you can see, my bangs are shorter in the center and I have some framing pieces. Everything needs to be cut. Let this go on for way too long. What I like to do next is kind of just take these side pieces put them away for now, because I'm going to start with the sensor - and this should be another triangle - I cut them that way. I'M gon na add this here yeah. This should work. Okay, so this is going to be my center bit, which I really need to shorten now what you want to keep in mind when you're cutting your bangs is they're always going to end up shorter than you think so go in tiny, tiny, small steps. You can always go back and take off more, but when you do make a mistake, you can't just you know, get them back. I like to just gather them all in between two fingers like that, and then I take my scissors and I'm gon na just start. Cutting and I'm not going to cut straight across like that, I'm going to start cutting into them like this, and that is going to ensure a kind of natural wispy ish shape. My bangs are pretty fine and I really like that kind of wispy feel so I'm just going to take a little bit off and then stop and see where I'm at okay, so they're still way too long. So, let's continue, I'm just leaving those side bits for now. I will worry about those later. I have neglected my back for long, so just keep doing this, keep taking little tiny bits off and then checking taking more off tracking again, and this way you're always in control of what's happening. No surprises oh, and I always like to cut my hair dry, especially my bangs, because when you cut these wets yourself chances, are you going to make them away too short when they bounce back up when they try not a good look. Alright, we're getting there all right, so I'm gon na stop there. I like the own kind of just below my eyebrows by the way, because my bangs are so long. I'Ve been wearing them to decide a lot and that's why they're kind of boring to go in that direction. I'M gon na have to train them again to you point downwards. So next step are these side framing bits, so those are always a little bit more difficult to do. But what I like to do is just kind of hold them again with my finger like that kind of diagonally, and I like to take a little bit of the center part. Don'T cut that, but that's going to be kind of my guideline. I'M gon na go from there kind of just diagonally make my way down all right. So then, I'm gon na let the rest of my hair down check how this looks and then you're all done cut your own bends. Save yourself a bunch of your money and a load of time, so I really hope you found this video helpful if you did don't forget to give a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel by clicking here or in red button below. I have another video here that you may also enjoy. You can go watch next and I will see you very soon in my next video bye,

BasicWhitegirl6767: here's a tip and I am a professional hairstyles. Try not to tilt your head during cutting your bangs, this will help you advoid cutting them unevenly. hold your head straight and sit up straight, and when you are holding the hair during cutting don't hold them away from your face but keep them as flat against your face as much as possible to avoid cutting to much off.

Jonah: honestly getting bangs was probably the best decision youve ever made it suits you so well

Gertrud Schmidt: I was dreading trimming my bangs because I can't get them cut at the hairdresser due to Corona and thanks to you they turned out fine! You're such a lifesaver

Flawless *: I did cut my bangs for the very first time by myself just because of you and your video about "How To Cut your Bangs". Nobody believes me when I say I cut them myself because they look sooooo good! Thanks for your tips! I tried to re do it myself before you posted this video but I had to watch it in case I was missing something haha. Many thanks!!!

Farah Souab: It's not that bangs are super easy to trim at home, it's just that you are so gorgeous that it doesn't matter if your bangs are trimmed properly or if you mess them up, you're going to look fine anyway lol btw I love your channel <3

Lola Gureaux: Oh my goodness you saved my life! I almost always mess up when I cut my bangs but this is super helpful and it worked :D Thank you SOOOO much Loepsie xx

BlehMeh: Thank you so much for this tutorial! I trimmed my bangs and they look great! I've never cut my own hair before, so I was worried they would come out looking terrible. Thanks so much!

Ashley Applebee: OMG! Thank you SO much for posting this video! I could never cut my own bangs the way I wanted them before. They always ended up all blunt and heavy looking, but after watching your video my bangs turned out awesome!! They look soft and fluffy and wonderful! Thank you so much for this wonderful video!

C. Adams: Thanks for making this video! I couldn’t get ahold of my hair stylist who originally cut my bangs so I decided to give this a try. I was really weary because I did this before and messed up but this time it looks pretty good. I still need practice on the side pieces because those got a bit butchered but with time I should learn how to get it right :)

MacKenna Jones: This is so helpful! I also like my bangs with the longer sides too, and I've been cutting my own bangs for the past 4 years and I always had the trouble with one of the side parts having less of a sharp angle than the other one. So I'll definitely try this method next time :)

Cyndia Rios-Myers: Thanks for the great tutorial! Long have I been wanting to trim my own bangs, but haven't done so. I followed your advice and got great results. Thanks!

TheConfusedhero: This video is gold and so are you! I did this for the first time and my bangs turned out so pretty, I love it. Since I can not always trust my hairdresser, I can at least trust you. :)

CeCe Ivy: This worked so well! I always make my bangs look diagonal and all that but they look great after using this tutorial!

K: I got some bangs around two months ago - and yeah, the lady at the hair salon cut it a tad too short and uneven. I've trimmed one side of my bangs and let them grow around the length of yours since then. (^_^') Your video is a great help! I didn't even know if I had a triangle on top or not, haha and I was afraid to cut the side pieces, which are a bit longer than the middle part. I've procrastinated enough I guess, time to trim them .. Wish me luck ~ Thank you for making this video! (ôvô)

Madyson Carter: I've had bangs for over a year now and have been trimming them myself. My bangs were in need of a trim and this video helped me to trim them better than I had done before. Thanks

Juliet Blue: I followed your tutorial for cutting my own wispy fringe and now this for trimming them and I’ve never looked better. The fringe looks really good and suits me. Bit of maintenance to keep them looking clean and straight but worth it.

Lucy Elly: Just how I trim them too. I pull them all to the middle as much as I can to get the rounder shape. I don't do the side pieces though, too scared to cut that lol if you do a growing out bangs video I hope I don't miss that! I'm going through that process now and it feels like it's taking forever!

Gothicc: Thank you so much I’ve never cut my bangs before and I did following your instructions and they came out perfect

Terry N: Trimmed my bangs today and they turned out great! My quarantine hair thanks you!

AlatarielMeneldur: Hi Lucy! I loved your hair more without the bangs, but that's just a personal preference. I do love your special hairstyles (historical/fantasy/...). I think they're amazing! You really have a talent for hair.

Chipper ChelseaKay: I am SO thankful for this video. When you search for "how to trim bangs" you get videos of CREATING or CUTTING bangs. Very different and unhelpful when you have bangs already. THANK YOU! This saved me during COVID when all the salons in NYC were shut down but I still had to go to work.

TheLongHairedFlapper: You look super cute with bangs! I remember when I had bangs (many, many years ago), that most hairdressers couldn't seem to cut them straight and/or would always miss pieces. I ended up re-trimming them so many times that I just gave up and started cutting them myself instead. I used a slightly different method, which involved taking small sections, twisting them, and then cutting the end of the twist straight off. It gave them a similar look to your wispy method :)

Eline: Thank you so much for this tutorial! It became really pretty bangs. Even my hair dresser gave me compliments! I so love your channel also. Since I found your channel, I have my hair daily in a historial kind of way. Get compliments and everyone ask how did you do that. And I send them to your channel.

Littlest Aswell: Yes! My boyfriend convinced me to trim my own hair to save money. I have been doing so for a year now. I had to build up confidence and with the help of tons of videos on youtube, I felt pretty confident. It made sense bc for years I've mostly just gone to get my air trimmed bc I am growing it out. a trim itself can still be expensive just to get an inch or so cut. So for less than a trim I got hair scissors, clips and a spray bottle. I am really digging your videos. I've started binge watching them and I'm really considering bangs like yours...I'm kind of scared.

Shari Treanor: I did a decent job of trimming my bangs for the first time ever! Thank you!

Maelynn A: That you so much for this video!! I went to the Akon for my first trim because they were well past my eyes and I didn’t want them messed up. They were messed up bad and are way too short (cut dry) and an odd shape and now I’m riddled with anxiety about if I want to go back or do them myself! I even showed her a picture of my bangs on my own face and they were still messed up but really, thank you!! I’m going to go do this now and attempt to lessen the damage

Reigan Pickle: I just got mine cut for the first time and they were way too long and I planned on trimming them to a good length and I was just gunna cut straight across until I watched this video. You’re a life saver omg

Olivia Roden: This is the most helpful tutorial for trimming bangs!! Thank you!!!!

Sarah Milliken: Thank you so much for this video! Trimming my bangs at home because of Corona and your method works great, might just switch to cutting my own bangs after this :)

sin miedo: This is a really good tutorial and it’s so helpful for anyone who doesn’t have time or money to go get it trimmed at the salon. My only problem with it is that for me it came out looking a little choppy and funky. It’s not a bad trim but I personally like the way a hair stylist did it. If you’re planning on following this tutorial be patient because it can take a while trying to get it to even out

Rocktricks P: This saved me!! My bangs grew in past my nose and I was so afraid cause I absolutely SUCK at hair it’s the one thing I can’t do! But they look so cute they look cuter than the first time I had them cut professionally!!! And I used eyebrow scissors lmao cause I don’t have real hair scissors but they’re amazing I’m so happy

leeanna lor: Love this video! I was going to go get my bangs trimmed until I saw this video. Definitely going to give this a try.

Kaira Vance: Thanks so much for this video! It was super useful and easy to understand!

Madeleine Alice Ross: this is so helpful! i have a really busy week and not much money so it’s really difficult to just go into the hairdressers every 3 weeks! I’m defo gonna try this as my bangs grow so quickly this is a great help!

the jankster445: i just got the best haircut of my life for free thanks to your video !! i love your bangs and you are such a pretty girl <3 im so happy that you made this tutorial thank you xx

Lucy Elly: Loepsie! How do you grow out bangs nicely? Should they always be slightly shorter in the middle? Or can they grow out nicely even if they're cut straight across? What do you suggest? Hope you see this. Thanks so much! xx

Annie: Thanks! I have my own bangs but I have to trim them monthly as they grow. My mother often does it for me, however she's not at home anymore(because of Covid-19) so I have to do that myself.

Olivia Petsche: Thank you thank you thank you! I can't believe how well it worked out and it looks like I got it done at a salon!

Alyson Maguire: This video is such a life saver in quarantine right now- thank you!!

Christine Kiyanitsa: I decided to let my bangs grow 2 weeks ago but you inspired me to cut it again haha

Marla’s Animations: This was so helpful! A fringe also looks super nice on you

MissGeorgiex1: Lmaoooo you’re so good at this. My bangs got far too long so I finally bought some hairdressing scissors and trying this myself and it’s the same length when I cut but different lengths when I move my fingers

wild gooseberry: I'm one of those people you've been reading about...the ones to whom everyone says "Don't do it!" and yet...we do. I decided to trim my bangs (and during isolation and a good selection of cute hats, I felt it was safe to try. This video was excellent and I did it! After posting my picture on Facebook, I'm getting tons of compliments. Thank you so much!

Genki Kumo: thanks for the video! I really love your channel! also I loved your eco-friendly videos and would love to see more videos like that :D always excited for your videos :) Maybe you could make a video about spa treatments at home and methods to relax and improve beauty? I wish you the best and a nice Christmas time

WKNDR: This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!

WrinkleinTime42: I should have watched this before trimming my bangs ... my hair is curly and they don’t look too bad . It now I feel more confident trimming them on my own!

Lucy Elly: I don't have the side framing pieces so when I trim the bangs should I leave the side pieces to just grow out a bit? Or do those side pieces really matter? xx

SexyMadHatter: I've done my bangs myself for years. Even when my hairdresser started offering free bang trims I'd still do it myself most of the time. I find it best to style my bangs with my hair haircut. Which happens only once a year.

KiribakuFangirl -: Omg thank you so much!! This was so helpful!!!

Stevie Wanders: I wish I had watched this video before I trimmed my bangs last week, because I did it with them wet and they drawed up just like you said they would, lol. But it turns out I actually like them fine this way, it just freaked me out initially. Lesson learned.

Silvia Mitrea: SOOOO HELPFULL I NEEDED THIS IN MY LIFE ASAP

Pure Demon: Always come back to this video when I need to cut my bangs again. I usually cut them myself ever since I got them years ago, and let them go for too long. Mostly because I'm lazy. lol *Tip-* those hair scissors really do help a lot guys. If you want them to look okay. You can find cheaper ones anywhere that sells hair products. They don't have to be expensive hair dresser ones. Amazon and other online places probably have cheap ones too.

alissia de pierro: I just cut my bangs, like two days ago, and your videos literally saved my life because I was already going crazy

Julienne Lee: This is really helpful! Plus your bangs is on fleek!
