In this video, Ro is joined by long time friend, Debra, who you may recognize from some of your favorite videos!  Debra purchased a Candice Wig, but feels that it is just too  much hair for her, so Ro is going to work her magic and transform this wig into something Debra will love.  Watch as she trims the bangs, cuts the length by at least a few inches, and adds subtle layers.  Our wigs can be customized very easily on your own, or take them to a hairdresser you trust.  Remember to cut slowly, as this hair won't grow back!

Hi everybody, i'm rochelle, the mother of the mother-daughter owners of godiva's secret, wigs and guess who i have with me today and would you know my dear friend deborah and my goodness she has me cut wigs every time i come out to california, so i thought we'd Show you how i'm going to do a pretty drastic, drastic trim on a canvas, so i thought you might want to watch, but will you just talk about how you prepare your hair, yep? Okay, this is my trusty wig band. That'S really good, and also i'll. Do this really quick? Oh only if you want to so deborah has fine hair, here's, my pony, and i won't take it all down just for time's sake, now, normally you'll, you will put it back like in a little bun like how i always should like how you always show and The little revel in me not really because it's thin, i literally, can go like this and pull it down, and you really don't see this this bump and why i started doing that. I really don't know, but you know what deborah this. Actually, if you have finer hair, then you see me with my thick hair, possibly like deborah is putting it up. High might even give you a little lift and it's a great way to hide your hair and prepare it and secure it yeah, and then you just put some bobby pins yeah. I just put in some bobby pins, yeah yeah. Then i put my trusty wig band. Your witch band, my wood, okay, sorry, we grip band. I keep thinking. This is going to make me look 10 years younger, but with it. So you know i'm like putting it here and then i'm like yeah sliding it up right. So you don't see it so deborah and you know if you start lower on your forehead on the skin part and then pull it back slowly. You will get a little. I need all the help i can get. You know i just turned a year older. You see how that pulls. Do you see whoa, it's like botox there, okay, okay, all right and you have it up at your hairline. You got ta get a little more yeah and i can adjust it once a week gets on anyway, all right, so it doesn't peek through. So here's the big mama candace all right, so you go right ahead and you put it on okay that i would have been very excited over in my twenties and thirties. Even my forties, i have to say: okay, anything would be good. Yes, it looked like okay, i'm gon na flip it on my head, my little tabbies whoops did i un, i feel like i ended my leg band here: you're good, i'm gon na tuck in like it, okay, good there you go okay and, and where are you Where are you okay? Yes, so those of you that you've tried a candace and maybe it feels like too much or you see it on danielle and myself or others. It feels like too much, but i'm going to make a dramatic change and i hope you can watch i'm inviting you to see what happens as i kind of enhance and make candace make sense on deborah and not look like just too feeling my hair. It'S more age-appropriate for me and i hate to say that, but, oh god do you wait, i mean because it's like, oh, i want to just like flip it in. I want to be dancing. No, i know so let me get this cable tight little spandex! Oh, yes, we were two little hotties 40 years ago yeah. So i'm going to make sure i have it even okay, and if ever you take your wig to have it trimmed by someone, please you be responsible and make sure your hands are making positive. The wig is in the right place before your hairdresser cuts because see i loved, i mean, of course i love the length, but i loved this part of it. I know you do so and remember i said: well, if you cut it, aren't i going to lose all of this yeah the vava boom. No so you're going to show me i am going to show that i could still be vavu boom, but the part that bothers people - the most, is right here, yeah, so right away. That'S the first place to start. I always suggest on a wig is right at your face, because it's going to make everything else, look different and then we'll go from there. So i'm not taking much we're just starting right here. This won't hurt a bit debra. I know i'm taking just whispies, so i'm always trimming at the bangs much longer than i think my client or i will want, and then i slowly work my way up see. I think this is really going to help because it's one thing trimming a little bang, but this is a dramatic difference. I mean what we're doing this isn't trimming. This is like cutting. So can i just do my thing on you? Okay, yes and ladies, you know when i have an important trim that i want my hairdresser to do on my hair. I don't talk much to him unless it's about what he's cutting on my head, because i want him focusing on my hair or my wig. So, okay yeah, so you can yap all you want, but i am going to let my hands do the trimming okay, but i have one question for you: i am going to trim these tails and i'd like to start about right here. Is that, okay with you? Okay, the tails yeah go, here's me, so why are you doing that? First? I want it's easier for me to trim okay and it's the way i love the wig to go. I know you're gon na love. It too, because i know you like the fullness and you'll - be able to get that, but these age us it doesn't belong on women, our age yeah. I think a lot of you are gon na and you know what it's not even that i have some canvases. I don't trim, but you want it trimmed, so i'm doing it and many of mine. I have trimmed i've trimmed some up to here, really yeah, but when it's really long it just kind of drags your face down it. That can't i mean it does because everything else is going down, and so many women will comment and say i love my long. Hair age has nothing to do with it and i say you're right, i agree and other women will say it's just too much hair as you get older and they're also right, because it's up to the woman who's wearing it on her head. You want to feel comfortable, that's the bottom line it and it depends. Maybe we were raised by a woman that had very long hair and that's you know they're used to it and some people are not see. You know, and you know how there's the mono the thinner one, but even though this is a lot of hair, see how it's not it's not like you know way out. I mean it's pretty close to your face. Yes, so i'm just i'm just toning it down a little bit to make sense on your head, and this is what a good hairdresser will do. I'M not a hairdresser. I just wear a cute hat. That'S all you know, but that's very hairdresser like who was that hairdresser, that guy that jose? Oh jose, oh yeah, he started that whole hat thing. Really, yes with the aristolos. Yes, i went into this. I remember years ago, in my 20s going to this really hoity-toity salon. It was very intimidating and it was like. Oh it wasn't housewives, it was you had to. We had to dress, it was so much work just to go there. You know you had to look so good all right time out. Okay, commercial break! Sorry just wanted to round that out. That'S our hot roller brush! It works great on our or any high quality synthetic wigs. So do you see what's starting to happen? The difference but you're still getting that little wave. Oh yeah, i mean you, know you're still getting the vava boom yeah. Okay, it's just not quite as overpowering, because we still want it to look natural and i'm putting a little more layering in the piece, as i'm just pulling out little pieces and just a little trimming oops. Sorry, all right! We'Ve got to go a little shorter or you're not going to be able to see okay, i'm going to work on the other side. Okay, so it's the same here how it's a little close to your face and closing off your face and we want to open it a little bit so i'm just taking some little pieces. So the hair is not overpowering your face, so debra. How many wigs do you think you have? Hmm you'll need an addi machine at least 30 at least oh well, 30 at least, and that's not like toppers or wavy. That'S just wigs right. Then i have my toppers. So am i scrunchy when you wear a different wig where people know you? I think this is a good question that a lot of you may may have or you're asked. How do you handle it, or do you care when you say they normally a client or somewhere, you go, you go in a store, they see you as a blonde and all of a sudden you come in a brown wig. How do you handle it? Do they? How did they handle it, but a lot of people don't say anything. I mean these, they don't say anything now. If i were going to a store like like a couple places that we'd go to, they would notice it and they and - and i can't imagine they and they're not going to say you look like a dog - they would say wow that looks really good. So you i've never had a negative comment. Okay, so you trust yourself. Do you? Are you ever like nervous when you go out in a new wig? No, and why do you think that is i don't know i could be nervous about other things, but not about that? Okay, i just want. I want to get this even right. Now, okay, i want you to just look straight. Don'T cross your legs, that's what the hairdresser's saying, because it is scary, especially for new wig wearers to go somewhere where they know people and they look different. Then i would probably start i would start going to a place. You know a restaurant or something. Nobody knows you and i think when you once you start doing, that you feel better. You feel more confident right and i think it's also having the positive story in your head. If someone says your hair is beautiful, that doesn't mean they're, saying you're wearing a wig yeah right right, we make it mean they're, complementing our hair. We look good, that's that's like who's, your hair stylist right. I love the color of your hair and you know, and it's like i've, never not said you know. I'Ve said thank you so much and of course, okay, keep talking and i'll say. Thank you so much they go. You know how do you get it like that and i'll say? Actually it's a wig? How do you get it like nine times out of ten that go, i would never know. I have never had anybody say i wouldn't know that it looks so natural looks so good, wow yeah. So i mean that's saying a lot. Yes, you know and i think just people are genuinely interested. I mean as a community of women. You know, i'm not afraid to say. Oh, you know someone says, oh what what uh, what cream do you use? You know i would just say i i use nothing but bar. So you know i'm not saying you have to share everything personal, but i just feel like it helps women it does. You know it's like thank you, for you know seeing that little secret tip right. We appreciate it yeah. I appreciate it when i ask people questions. Yeah and i'm asking because i'm interested because i might like it for me - yeah, look how nice it looks already. I'M feeling kind of young all right get ready to go out to dinner tonight, but it's a feeling, but it's a friday night. That'S the other thing! I for me, when we're getting a little older instead of just one long length, i like to put some little layers in it. Would you like that? Yes, i like that better too, otherwise, it just again it just kind of drags you down right and it's just it's more interesting, see, look how long it was. I know how long was it like here, yeah yeah, i used to have a client, but i don't have a problem with it this length. No, isn't that pretty. I think this is very pretty yeah. I mean that and that's the whole point. I can wear a shorter wig. Here'S where it was yeah yeah see. Can you nip that little tail? Oh yeah, that's going. I was going to say i used to have a client that would always buy candice in champaign and she'd. Have me take it right up to the shoulder and it was spectacular. Why did she love it because this yeah it was this right here, and i mean it was a great idea so great yeah and you might think, but you know i'm paying for it longer and it's like you're just paying because it looks good yep. You know right, i mean it's like it doesn't matter, so i'm going to round these bangs out a little more i'm going to keep working on so okay. This is a workout and sometimes you'll have a little stubborn little hair after you cut it. That sticks up. I don't have my hair spray with me, but i would just spritz even in my hand, spritz and then just use my finger and rub it right over for any of those stubborn see, because i have a natural little colic right here. Okay, whenever i wanted bangs it would just go bling. Okay, so look up! That'S where i want you right there now i can see yeah, so we are almost there. Okay, will you turn and let me see the back okay. I just want to show you all great just a little bit more okay and it. It is a big job to trim a canvas, but it can be done otherwise take it to a hairdresser. But we can see here the sides that i've trimmed and then we've got all this longer length. So once again, i'm taking the side - and i see that that's her shoulder and i'm just starting to trim and it's okay to go longer in the back. But look i want to take much of this off because it is super long and i don't think deborah's trust me. What do you want? Yes, deborah's trust me! Yes, because i wouldn't want it super long. No, you don't need it that long and it just falls so pretty so for those of you that say well, if i cut the length, is it going to change the look look, this is canvas, it is gorgeous just gorgeous and actually the less of the weight. Debra it has, it picks these little pieces up and doesn't weigh them down because of the length, and what i like to do is take some pieces just little pieces and just throw it in there. So everything doesn't look exactly perfect, like some of these long pieces that are at the top, those could be made a little shorter, there's many ways to trim a wig. So i'm not a hairdresser, but you know what my wigs end up looking great, so everyone has their own way. Ah, wait till you see this debra, i shouldn't be making dinner tonight. No, you should be going out where it's a friday night. When am i going to go and get in oh set some candles out for you and ralph come in a new wig. You know i better. I better change too, and i always make sure when i'm trimming that no long hairs were hiding underneath that wanted to be uh wanted to escape from being cut like these. So that's a little tip because you don't you don't need that piece hanging down. So oh found another and then look how pretty, if we put a big clip here, candace amazing, deborah amazing you're, an amazing combo, oh boy! Okay, will you turn back around? Yes, let me just ever so carefully pivot, so i i left it longer. I'M still going to be working on it, but um. I know you all have things to do so. I hope this was a good little training session. Just so you can see what can be done with the canvas and uh. What do you think about the length it looks? I think it looks good yeah i mean it can always go shorter, but that's the whole point is you want different lengths? That'S the whole see, and it would be so pretty because you can pull it back exactly and look how different you know it takes off yeah a lot of that. Yes, look at that, there's so much to do with canvas yeah. You could own ten of them and make every canvas look different, yeah so anyway, thank you. There'S another idea. There you go. Oh my gosh another one. Thank you for being my model you're welcome and thank you so much for watching have a great day. Bye, bye, hi, so we couldn't finish and let you not see the completed candace trim. So what do you think it's beautiful, oh makes me feel so good and see. I still have that length, but it feels appropriate look at the little bangs mm-hmm. It looks so good, really good and the back is super natural. Do you want to want me to turn yeah you don't have to. I mean i love looking at the front of you, but there's the back and just sensational that is so pretty so so natural. Looking isn't it it is, it is. This is candace. This is deborah. This get us mixed up, is candace in creamy toffee trimmed. So i hope you like it. Let us know what you think: okay, bye, you

Kara Pendleton: 1. Rochelle, you look particularly beautiful today. And, love the hat on you! 2. So happy Debra is back. Just love her! She's so lovely and fun! 3. Incredible end result. Absolutely stunning. Great job! Debra looks even more beautiful. 4. These videos always make me so happy. Thank you for starting my every week off with a smile.

Denise LeBeau: Debra looked so beautiful in the final cut! Her outfit was gorgeous with the color of Candace. Ro, your trims are perfection! 30 wigs….one for each day of the month! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Lisa K: More fun with wigs! I get complimented all the time about my "hair" and everyone of those folks cannot believe its a wig. I'm very open about the fact that I'm wearing a wig. Deborah, you could totally pull off a long bob. I can see keeping the length though for pulling up into a bun or twist up, that's a good look for any age. Ro, you look fabulous as usual. Thanks for this video because I forget that buying a longer wig and trimming is always an option. Have a great week ladies!

Linda Guenthner: I just got my first Candice in maple sugar, my favorite color! I have been wearing wigs since March 2021 and have 47 already. Candice is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WIG I'VE EVER SEEN!! I love your idea of just buying Candice and customizing each one a little differently. I must admit I don't think I could cut anything off. It's just perfect as is. Deborah looks AMAZING!! I am curious about this color. I would like to try it but in this video it is a beautiful neutral blonde. It usually looks very yellow in the other pics and videos I've seen. I can't wear yellow so I would love to know if this color reads yellow or neutral. Thanks for the great video!

Tara von Kuhn: The Trimmed Candace on Deborah looks fabulous! I was hoping for a video that would give me instructions on how to do so. Thank you so much!!!

Debbie Hall: This video is so incredibly helpful! Thank you so much. It looks beautiful. Very inspiring.

Tbascoebuzz: This was so fun…I feel like I’ve visited with my longtime girlfriends. One thing you said Ro, that I can especially relate to and that is, “long wigs aren’t really age appropriate when we get older”. (Much like wearing clothes that are too young). But I’m thinking Candace is the perfect choice for us older gals who want to pull it back with loose, trimmed wispies, or wear it solely in an updo. Correct? Ok, I’m off to order one of those fabulous heat/roller brushes. It just looks like something I gotta have. Blessings to you girls and to all..and thank you for the fun video. (Marilyn/California) ✨✨

Kathy Scott: This looks STUNNING! I LOVE MY CANDICE and also have trimmed 'some ' ;] I'm 56 and LOVE my long blonde hair and wigs ;] Rock on ladies your fabulous!

Denise Barajas: Debra is such a wonderful person. I love to hear her stories. As always the look was just beautiful. Candice is on my wish list. Hopefully one day she will be mine. I could watch your videos all day.

susan stadtlander: I just trimmed my bangs on my Taylor top and think I did a pretty good job after carefully watching your videos. Thanks Rochelle!

Glenda Young: Happy Monday, Ro! I (of course. . . wouldn't miss it) watched today's Debra and Candace transformation. I want to share my experience of just a few hours ago which perfectly "puncuates/illustrates/proves" what you girls were discussing when/if one should "admit" that "it's a wig." I'm not sure, though, if here is the right place to tell my tale and post a picture. Actually, the BEST place would be on the stool in your kitchen, wine glass in hand, with the camera rolling, but I need to get new tires on my Bug before I can drive out to St. George. So, in the meantime. . . GiGi in Castle Rock, WA.

Karen Killoran: Love Debra, she's so chatty. Love you too Rochelle. All looks fantastic, well done Rochelle ❤️

JustTakeMeDancing: There’s Debra! I just love her personality! That wig is incredible…..amazing all the different looks you can get out of it. I just may have to consider this one. I’ll go on the website and see if my color is there…..I’m golden blonde (L’Oréal Preference 8G Golden Blonde.). What color would be comparable?

Jean Jacobs: Greetings Rochelle! You did a great job on Candace for Deborah. Gorgeous hair!! Love and blessings ♥️

3eugenee: Learned so much today. Love love your videos. I’m thinking my next purchase will be Candace. Except around the face (bangs) Candace doesn’t have to be perfectly cut and I love the idea of shoulder length hair! Thanks Ro it was fun watching this video. ❤️

lnzinorbit lnzinorbit: Finally I get to see how to put hair under the wig at that length. Thank you! I would like to see a short video from beginning to end with her putting it under her wig I have never done it right. I also have fine and thin hair.

Maxine Dicks: Beautiful cut. I recently purchased my very first Candice and I’m completely in love. My question is would the hot brush help with keeping her off the face? I don’t want to put bangs in her, had them all my life so it’s a change for me. Do love it though.

Susan Hojdik: Nice to see Debrah again:) She is funny. Love how you shaped this wig!

B. Moore: Absolutely stunning! What a difference a little trim here and a little trim there does for a wig, a whole new look. Rochelle you look so pretty and young in that hat! I love, love, love your videos!

LaurieJ: Beautiful wig. I always wanted long hair but never could have it with my fine, thin hair. I am 70 now and Candace would probably be too much, my hairdresser won’t trim wigs, so I couldn’t get her to do it. My natural hair is platinum in front, not grey but platinum, and the back is grayish, medium ash blonde. Not sure which color to get because grey color next to my face makes my skin look horrible. The finished result is magical and she looks younger. Can’t tell it’s a wig. Love your wigs.

TinkPixie: This is a great video to have. I can't trim bangs for myself to save my life. This is helpful. I have very thin hair myself.

Holly Kay: Thanks, ladies! It was fun hanging out with you. Ro, is there a name for the type of "cut" you perform with the sliding motion up the length of hair?

Steph484a: Looks terrific ladies! The way that you are cutting the hair is like a form of texturiziing which leaves lots of layers and movement, I love it! Hoping one day to work up enough guts to purchase and wear one some day!

Crystal The Pistol: I turned thin candace into a topper. The color is champagne. Looks great! And i also just bought Candice in Sandlewood -H. I love it and get compliments all the time.

Gail Walton: love the Candice oh her....and your trimming looks great too!! wow the finished product!!!

Guided By Angels (Liz Harrison): Loved everything about this and wow Ro, i love love love your hat

Aoife Kenny: Your friend looks so stunning. The wig with that trim looks absolutely perfect on her.

DannyJane: What a treat to see Deborah again! She's such a delight with her bubbly personality and cheery wisdom. It's really amazing how much hair you can chop off a wig and never miss. Your question about handing the situation when you're around people who know you and you're wearing a wig that's a dramatic departure from your usual look. Do you remember how scared I was and how much you helped me get over it? Now I announce it! My doctor hasn't seen me with the same hair twice! I'm pretty sure she's caught on. ; - ). But here's the kicker. Back then I was so scared how my children might react (my kids are as acid-tonged as I am and I have NO idea how they got that way) but I took my son to dinner after a long estrangement. It was his birthday. I wore my Freedom in Sandy Silver and his reaction? "Wow, that's a new look for you, Mom! I never thought you'd cut your hair!" Then he paused and studied me before pronouncing, "I like it." Then I told him it was a wig. He shrugged and asked why I didn't cut my hair that way. I reminded him of one of my disastrous attempts at a short hairstyle when he was a boy. Then I told him how thin my hair has gotten and how much worse that old style would be NOW! We laughed and toasted my hair. Now he just says, "Well, you look great!" Can a wig actually heal a family rift? Well, it certainly was an ice-breaker. Love to you and yours and may you go on making lives better for a long, long time to come.

Carol Jewart: You are right the long hair really ages but I love the fact that you are never old in your mind and heart!!

Ott Gavras: looks amazing

Janet Sappington: You too are so cute together. Love the video. Candace and Debra looked great.

Sandra Gless: Hi Rochelle, I have been wearing a Jon Renau easihair xl 12" top piece for years in three different colors 24B18S8 shaded mocha, 14/26S10 shaded pralines and cream and 12FS12 Malibu blonde. My hair is a dark blonde and I do not look good in anything too yellow. I really like a monofilament top piece and would love to try one of yours but I don't know what color if any would work for me that you have. Could you please help me with a color choice? Thank you, Sandra

brenda reagan: that wig look so natural on her! It took a min to sink in when she first put on, but later...great look on her!

Crystal The Pistol: Oh and I love your pink hat Rochelle. You are a doll and you made your guest look perfect. Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️

Carol Jewart: She answered my question! I love it

GoldenHoneySilk: look so different Rochelle nice. oh yea Debra adorable lady. wonderful job you did Ro, for not being a hairdresser certainly do a wonderful cut. always enjoy this makes my day. take care and be safe

Cian: I'm just getting ready to watch this video and I'm wondering if you could create a video on how to trim the wig attached to your baseball caps. I ordered a "short cap" from your website, then returned it because the hair was too long for me. And now I'm thinking, why can't I trim/customize it like I've done (or my hairstylist has done) with your other wigs. I may reorder it if I can feel confident about customizing it. Thank you for all these great helpful videos!!!!!

Curly hair, fine, thinning & figuring it out : I thought Debra was you, at first, then, I thought surely it's your sister..you two share the same bubbly energy

SavageSavannah: Good call on getting rid of those tails... made me thing a bit too close to a frumpy "mullet" I call them. I'm so picky about my hair, I've offended many hair dressers/cutters by going AHH WHY DOES IT ALMOST LOOK LIKE A MULLET!! MY LAYERS!!!

Coast Daze: Debra is a little doll and she definitely can rock Candace. Rochelle did a good job in taking off some length and the bangs are perfect.

Rita Weygint: Wow! The pink hat is beautiful!

JoJo: amazzzing! you both look beautiful.. FUN video.. the hat!!!!

anna nimity: ...WOW!...LOVE IT!

Gwen Wintermeyer: Hello Girls!…….Do you think a Candice topper may be in the works! Dark Chocolate please!…..‍♀️

Diane Carrierpompine: It’s very pretty, will you make a topper in freedom ?

Susan Hojdik: Debrah, you are the bomb, girl

Carol Jewart: I don't know Debra by sight but I love the color of the wig. The hair is too much for her age or maybe any age.

Carol Jewart: would it be possible to have a longer wig and have it trimmed to make it shaggy? I always like the messy hair look. I am probably too old now, though

Judy Anne: Debroah looks sooo much younger with Candace on

Judy Anne: What size is your air brush & where can I get it?

marlene kerrmarlene: you should be a hairdresser, love the hat

Carolyn Hamilton: Looks fabulous.

Susan Hojdik: Just smile and be confident and sassy;)

Asmaa Hussein: Can you bring me a one of your nice wig to Egypt

55karenina: On many videos ,they using nice brushes ,even now the hair blower ,I am always receiving in black, and I hate black. When I order brushes they were in owing ,blue, and than I got in black .Hair blower they sent me black too. Don’t like it

Lainey:

Helene Makuch: I find it still looks unnatural on a woman her age or maybe it's just the wig on her. Too much hair , the style is wrong for her in my opinion.
