We all know that the Revlon one-step hair dryer and volumizer is an amazing budget friendly hair tool and can dry and style our hair at the same time, but can it also wave or curl our hair like the Dyson?

Today, I wanted to test it out for myself and on my short-medium hair length and see what happens.

Thank you so much for spending time with me and watching this video!

XO,

Milabu

We'Re starting out this video with some crazy, crazy hair. This is still roughly 70 % damp hair because we are going to use the Revlon, the Revlon, a one-step, styler and volumizer. I want to see if I can accomplish some type of waves with the Revlon, because so many of you have asked if I can do it or if maybe you can somehow do it. I was curious and let's see what happens. Oh just applying some leave-in conditioner ensues the hair using the brioche. You don't despair, repair, leave-in treatment mask. I personally don't like to dry my hair when it's soaking wet just because it's unnecessary and it takes extra long. So usually I will just put on my makeup. Get ready for the day and then I will go and do my hair once it's nice and damp. That way doesn't take as long inside as much heat on the hair, unnecessary heat and I've had a lot of people asking that question. Okay. So what I'm going to try to do is I'm going to try to create some type of wave kind of using the brush of the dryer, and basically I want to mimic that little brush that I had. I think I've shared with you. I think it was also a Revlon. Wasn'T it was it a Conair? Oh no 6th ave, that's what it was X table from Amazon, and so many of you liked it, and I said I liked it, but I didn't love it and yeah. So, that's why I wanted to see if we can do something, what the Revlon and obviously the waves are going to be a lot bigger. Maybe nothing will even happen. It will maybe give a slight Bend to the hair. Just because my hair is not long. I'M sure if you have longer hair, something will probably happen some kind of waves, but I am probably going to look for something very loose and more of like a bend to the hair. Alright. So for this I want to see if I can do a couple of different ways. So, the first one being I'm going to kind of wrap it around the brushes, I bring it down the hair and then what I want to try is to kind of roll. It into the brush hold it in there for maybe like 15-20 seconds, let the hair dry kind of, as you would on the Dyson, let it dry on the actual brush or the barrel and see what happens. So let's try the first way and I am going to go on the lowest heat setting, he's gon na brush it out first and then I'm going to go down okay. So, as you can see what I was doing was I was taking the brush and I was just kind of gently twisting the wrist as I went down the hair, but I am going to try to do it on the highest just because I am moving it Very often and see what happens all right so, as you can see, it's not really doing much. It'S just mostly focusing on the ends of my hair, just because it is the brush is very big in comparison to my hair. It is shorter, so it doesn't have that much to work with and it is very wide. So you are gon na get just a slight bend to the hair, but I feel like if you had longer hair than I do, you might be able to get something out of it, just because you do have a lot more hair to work with, especially with Such a round bigger brush, if you have shorter hair than I do mm you're not gon na get much like I'm barely getting anything as you can see kind of right here, a little bit a little bit of a little Bend as you can see right here. The little bend is happening, but I'm gon na keep working with it. Do the first section and then we're into the second section we're gon na try to just wrap it around the barrel. Hold it and then see what happens. It'S probably also just gon na give a little flip or a little bent, like I said in the beginning, I'm not really aiming or hoping to get much more, just because of the length of my hair. So, as you can see the difference, if you're holding your brush upwards and set up down and you're kind of brushing it just away from your face and you're kind of holding the end inside the brush kind of hold it there for a couple of seconds. And then let it go is you can see it creates more of a Bend rather than just the flip on the bottom. I feel like you'd do a much better job and somebody would longer here all right so far. What I'm seeing is it's just giving me good volume and it's just giving me a little bit of something towards the bottom of my hair, like I said in the beginning, if you're expecting to get some kind of curler away with this with my hair length, you Probably won't get anything when I was letting the hair dry on the brush for those 10 to 15 seconds. It started to smell like something was burning, so I am going to turn it down to the lowest heat setting and the lowest airflow okay. So at the top I'm gon na try to do something to kind of hold, like you saw on this side to hold the hair a little bit in the brush. I feel like that actually did a much better job, but, as you can see right here, the hair gets stuck in the brush, it's creating extra kinks in the hair, but it did create somewhat of a way, but it's still damp. So that's one of the biggest problems, because it's not designed to have to hold your hair for a long period of time designed to just keep brushing out the hair to dry it out. So I was having a harder time doing something, but it doesn't smell as bad as it wasn't the highest heat setting. I wish they had a high airflow with the low heat setting like the Dyson has such a great feature, but this keep it on the lowest heat setting and hold it for a little bit longer, I'm holding it for at least 35 to 40 seconds, at least, And it's still damp towards the top, so I'm thinking at least 45 to 50 seconds per section. It'S something! What I'm going to do is put it on the highest heat setting, do or five seconds and turn it back down to low for the remainder of 40. To 45 seconds, that's a okay! So, as you guys saw, I was holding the hair with each section for at least 45 seconds smaller and bigger sections, and you got a little bit of something going on. But honestly, this is too much effort too much time. Just use some heat rollers honestly because I think that's the look you're going to get if you do have longer hair. I think you're gon na get even a better job with the rollers for shorter hair, also give you volume, but yeah so far, I'm not the biggest fan of doing it. This way, with the Revlon, this humble dude and with these sections I'll do the same thing. Just kind of roll it up and let it dry off. Okay, let's see what we have here, definitely giving me volume definitely created really weird kinks in my hair, as you can see that to some it may look like a wave, but from here personally it's a kink and the way the hair got wrapped just because it Does have the two different types of bristles: it has the boar bristles and then it has the nylon bristles. So it's making the hair kink when you wrap it around the bristles. It doesn't result in a nice overall look. I hope that makes sense. My hair still feels damp in a lot of areas, especially towards the root just because, if you are doing your hair and kind of wrapping it around and holding it there, it's not gon na get as close as possible to the room positives. It did give volume. It gave texture that I didn't want to get. I guess it's kind of a neutral honestly and then the negatives is it takes too long. It'S really uncomfortable to then unwrap your hair or just to kind of drag it down. What else? Just the overall look. Isn'T that my favorite personally, I'm only speaking for my hair type in my hair length? If you do have longer hair, you might have far better results that you might like and then honestly, I'm just gon na stick with it. The way I usually do my hair just brush it through and style it as dries the hair and I get really good results. The hair is nice and smooth it's shiny and I feel like right now. The hair is not that shiny because it doesn't look at its best and I feel like I'm, giving it a really bad name with this video. But I do love the product. I still use it and I think it does a very, very good job as styling and drying your hair, all at once for a very good price, but to give your hair some kind of wave or a curl, no not possible. With this hair length, like I said, I probably just stick with the hot rollers, if that's what you're going for a really really nice volume or a nice wave, the more I'm looking at my hair and I brush it out just to see what it looks like When it's all nice and fresh and even it looks like I had it up in a ponytail or different ponytails throughout my hair, I took them out and then I have a random kinks throughout my hair. Honestly, it does not look pretty and not loving it. Not loving it at all, but that's kind of my little take on what it looks like. As you can see it kind of looks right here. The kinks kink right here, it's just very awkward. In conclusion, you will not get any types of waves or curls with my hair length or even a little bit longer - definitely not shorter and yeah. Just there are far better tools than this on the market. If you are trying to achieve a waver or curl when drying or styling your hair, thank you guys so much for watching and I'll see you in the next video. I love you all very much bye. You

KOSA: Idk why but I was getting a bit frustrated when her hair was wrapped around the handle rather than the brush.

Mandi LoPresti: I had one of these back in the day as a teenager. My hair is naturally curly/wavy and if I straighten it I get zero volume so I loved this for straightening my hair without losing my volume. Kind of like a blow out without having to hold a brush and hold a hair dryer.

Tamara Morton: I like this look, personally. I bought this hairdryer/styler a few weeks ago and so far I'm loving it. I guess because I'm impatient, to me, this is the same type of effect I get with using a round brush and a regular hairdryer but it's a lot easier. My hair is about your length, too. I don't disagree with you that it doesn't give a lot of curl but I like the amount of volume I get. I use earplugs because it’s very loud, enough to damage my hearing. Seriously. Thanks for doing a video with it, though.

Jami Womack: I get so many compliments on my hair daily using this dryer. LOVE LOVE IT.

Tomar Crauswell: I really like the fact that when you aren't the biggest fan of a product you always explain why it isn't for you personally but you never just straight bad mouth a product or the company. That's very admirable. This is something I wish you could teach other youtubers.

Carmen Taylor: You can absolutely do full curls with this dryer. She is not doing it right- you need to twist- pull down, repeat several times. Similar to the motion with a curling iron to get beach waves. I do this often!

The Planning Mama: If you hold the hair while twisting when it is at the tip of the brush instead of letting it go so fast it actually curls the hair. I have shoulder length hair as well!

Souha Sarmini: Omg I tried it yesterday, amazing My hair curly and frizzy Plus it’s long I put some oil for frizziness It was done by 17 min Feels amazing I usually do my hair in 45 min with a regular blow dryer,

superstar85ca: I think I would partially blow dry my hair and then use this on my roots to get volume and to get the ends to curl in a little bit. Ordering one on Amazon today

Candice Armstrong: To make curls I just work a section in the direction I want the curl to go until the hair is hot. Then I stop brushing that section and just twist the strand in the same direction and leave it alone to cool. It doesn’t make tight curls, but it is definitely wavy.

Courtney: I just bought the straightening version of the revlon dryer and I’m pretty impressed. I have really thick hair and it actually does a pretty good job of straightening it as it dries

Marlena k8: I do this all the time when I don't have any time for the flatiron. It works great!!! You have to do it like you would with a barrel brush to get that twist in your hair

Erin Kelligher: I’m definitely going to try this! My hair is a bit longer and i kind of liked the texture you got throw a lil texture spray in it and call it good

lac92576: I say just blow dry your hair straight with the Revlon, then go in with a curling iron afterwards. The Revlon saves so much time anyway that you would have the time to use the curling iron. Less heat damage it seems, too!

Zynthia Nedergaarden: Finally someone who has the exact same hair type as me so much easier to see the results

mrotslyah: I cannot believe this you came out with this video when I was LITERALLY googling this yesterday! This is amazing!

Kimberly Dickson: Mila, what you got is exactly the hair I want!! I need that Revlon styler!

Joanna: I think you are absolutely right. There are easier and faster ways to get some volume and slight curls. It doesn't even look like a nice blowout in the slightest eventhough that was the least I expected.

Sherry Lindstrom: I’ve been curling my hair with this tool ever since I got it. My hair stylist thought I was using a curling wand.

Lucia Arredondo: Hi! I have a question, how do you clean this brush apart of taking of the loose hair that gets stuck, I mean the build up product in to the thick small bristles? If you could make a video about it now that we all have it would be great.

Mery love: I bought the Revlon one step hair dryer and it works great. I love it.

Odeleya: I don't think the brush was ever supposed to curl your hair. Just dry your hair and give you a blowout look with volume

cortney wessling: I love that brush dryer just to give an easier blowout than brush with blow dryer. And makes it super bouncy

Sophie Richard: I have this hair dryer and I love it. It's just NOT made to curl hair. It is made to dry hair super straight, no frizz, not curl hair... :)

Sweet Pea: I totally agree too much effort and no results except your hair is dryer. I can’t believe how long your hair has gotten. I tried to let mine grow but I’m too impatient and I’ve cut it off again. I really love my Revlon 1200 W ionic blow brush. It does get pretty hot on high so I dry most of it without the brush and then put it on low with the brush for styling. Love your videos

D.S.: I agree totally.I bought one and sent it back. It gets too hot on high and burns the hair. Brad Mondo wasn’t thrilled either.

Paarus Patel: I have long hair and I love this blow dryer, I can usually achieve a soft wave with dryer. I just have a problem with the waves staying all day.

CS Richardson: I have shorter hair which I dry with a regular dryer till it's just damp. Then I use a Helen of Troy air dyer (3/4" or 1 .5" barrel) for actual curl or wave. The barrel is plastic, not bristles, but it never pulls my hair. I have very fine hair so it takes a curl well enough . . but keeping a curl .. forget it! I love your videos! And I am 72 and STILL love playing with new styles, etc. I have a great hairdresser who begs me not to use the scissors! LOL! So you see, all your subscribers aren't young chickies!

Felecia B: Thank you for doing this! I was just wondering the other day if it was possible! Now I don't have to wonder.

rose gionomo: I think if you hold the brush the other way around with the handle pointing down I think maybe you'll get a little bit more curl

xx: You can tell who doesn’t know how to do hair by the “your hair is on the handle” comments. She had to move the brush through the rest of the hair to get it all curved on the brush the same way. She didn’t think it was doing anything to that part of the hair.. she was done with it and let it fall wherever it needed to.

valarya: I use this tool to give myself major waves every time I wash my hair! But my hair is very very THICK texture, so that might have something to do with it. I just blow dry it in every single direction (on low) and wrap it up and let it set for a few seconds on each strand. Gorgeous :D

Jess H.: It won’t curl because that’s not what it was designed for. It’s designed specifically for a blowout. But maybe revlon will design something similar to make curls soon!

MSA: I have longer hair and use this every time I blow dry and get lots of texture and volume. Check out LisalisaD1’s tutorial. She uses a different brush (Conair? It’s purple and a round brush) but I use her technique and love the results.

Brittany Martinez Beauty: I’m about to buy it! I’m so excited. I love volume in my hair

Judi Goldfarb: I have the brush thanks to you, but my hair is too thin & not long enough. Thanks for demonstrating

jokat2: Bummer this didn’t turn out the way we all hope, but would you look at your channel?! I’ve been a subscriber since the early, early days and as cheesy as it sounds I’m so proud of what you and Andre have built. big love! Keep doing your thing!

Sarah Grace: Your makeup looks beautiful! As always. Love your channel❤ could you maybe do a updated makeup routine?

Jen: Another problem is that the ends are frizzy. I hope you restyled it afterwards. Your hair is so pretty when you style it usually. Love you!

Kathy Scirg: I think it looks good lots of body and volume but I like the texture look

MrsLoretta: Your hair looks so nice long!! That is a lot of effort and time!! You do it so fast with your straightner..You do have alo of volume!! xoxox Loretta

Emily Mark Clark: Which would cause less damage to the hair....1) air dry your hair and using a curling iron, or 2) letting the hair dry a bit and drying it the rest of the way with the Revlon?

Lola Hitz: I had waited for so long time for this tutorial

Lizbeth Pacheco: I actually do curls with my one step, you just have to turned a few times to dry it and then you go down still turning the one step leaving the hair from the top in your way down so it is going to be twisted until you release it from the one step , then you let it sit and its done I have to say that I have my hair almost the same length than you and it looks good I dont know if my explanation helps but I absolutely can do loose curls with my one step!!!

Annabel Beyra: Can you recommend an alternative to Tyme iron for curls? I just find it to be so expensive

Muskaan Jain: Can you maybe try the same techniques with hair extensions... Hopefully it might work for us girls with longer hair

zhu luo tan: Kinda hard to hold that brush that big, hoping for a bit more pronounced curls hoping it would work for me because I just want to keep my curls but in a more neat way

Ronni Steinwand: I love your hair length and style to me it looked great I have alot of hair but very fine and I still couldn't get that style even with hot rollers but back 10 years ago I never herd of techshured hair products

jennifer giblin: Try the purple Conair one with hair 75% dry.. It gives lift and curl..

enicatspirit eni: Hi Milabu,,I bought this Revlon yesterday cause I loved it by your videos but today when I used, it made a strange noise. I got scared cause after 1 min from the normal noise it changed into a razing blade noise,is that normal?? U look great always!

Sophia Moskalo: Would you review the AmoVee 2 in 1 curling & flat iron? I searched your channel but didn't see it mentioned. It's a travel sized product that converts from a flat iron to a curling iron. It has titanium plates and sells for less that $30. I have seen favorable reviews but was wondering what you think.

Nancy Hemati: You couldn’t possibly look bad, ever. I think you’re just lovely.

Alexandria Cosentino: Beautiful !! Would love to try this dryer you make it look so easy. Oh I love your top whet O where did you find it ? You have great taste!! Xoxox

Cindy Snow: I love my one step! Buuuut you're braver than I am I haven't attempted waves. I only use the lower heat setting its plenty hot.

Carina: Great review video! Could you please review the Color Wow Dream Coat? I'm wondering whether to buy that or the Bumble & Bumble Invisible Oil Primer for me thick, frizzy hair. Would be really helpful to get your opinion on it. Thank you.

Elena Pontarin: I always curl my hair with this tool

Jennifer C Grasso: Am I the only one that loves how the hair turned out?

kanika Johnson: Your growing it out I love it

boxiebabe: I bought this tool after seeing your first video on it. Can you possible do a video on how to clean this tool? I know how to get the hair out, but am wondering how to get off built up product and oils. Thanks!

Suzan Storm: Love the Revlon. The Dyson is entirely too expensive!!!

Nikole Spry: The revlon one step hair dryer brush is not made to curl hair It’s supposed to add volume and some smoothness .

Silvia Mendez Guzmán: Hiii :) I have longer hair than yours and with my hair, I actually can create some kind of waves, not like beachy waves, they're more like voluminous waves but still, they look amazing. :D

Nicole Nezbitt: I love mine but it’s a pain to take all the hair out of it

Squeegie Beckenheim: I would love to see you do a video on the t3 curlers...

Nahid: Will that work with curly hair make it into waves? Or help make it straight?

Sarah_crafty: Hi Do you think you can do it with the round dyson brush ? I’m curious of the results have a nice day

Nicky Chambers: I agree with many that I don’t think it’s designed to curl but also you are playing with the curls while they are still warm, you need to allow them to set by letting them cool!

Lovedancing Xoxoxoxo: I can’t believe you aren’t happy .. this looks better than other styles you had .. longer hair is better

JJ Babbles: Love my Revlon 1-step! Pleeeeese can you tell me what nail polish you're wearing? It's such a juicy Pink & I've been searching for one! Tysm!

kateq14: I had this question and couldn’t find anyone who answered it (probably since it didn’t work well). Thanks for showing!!

Sarah Anne Rogers: I think I was maybe 10. I had beautiful Shirley Temple curly naturally that went all the way to my lower back. I was standing in front of one of those old heaters with a flame and a grill (because it was cold outside) and my hair caught on fire and burned all the way to my ears

Molly G: Question, what is the name of the brush that you used to brush out your hair when it was wet? P.S love you videos.

Zombie Bot: Your hair is good, no need nothing beautiful! Cool vid.

dulce minori herrera garcia: No te entiendo nada pero me encanta todo lo que haces en tu cabello!!!

A Lais: I always do that with mine haha

mimii3000: Unfortunately because the brush diameter is so big and your hair isn't very long, you won't get much curl. You'll need a smaller round brush. The smaller the brush, the more curl you'll get. Big brushes are more for smoothing.

Michael Brasch: Convenient and works well for my beard!

Amanda Smith: I have hair down to my chest, and this does give me a loose curl. :)

Hannah Mulvihill: You’re not going to get a curl with that big of a barrel, no matter the length of your hair. You’ll get some sort of bend to the hair, but that’s about it.

doodleartlover: I miss your hair being shoulder length because your channel was so great for me because of you doing hairstyles for shorter hair (like mine). Are you planning on cutting it back to shoulder length for the summer or anytime soon... just wondering. Thanks for the video and have a great day! ✌️

Aline Cavedon Schonhorst Ribeiro: Hi, Milabu! I love your videos. You are a pretty woman. I have this Revlon and I like it.

Wendy Brown: Your hair is pretty no matter what you do to it. I love your color also. What color is that?

Michelle Marie: Not really curl it but it can create a blowout effect

J T: I wonder if maybe it would do better if you used a curl cream?

Bridgetta Winchester: I use it all the time to add curls! Another thing you can do is use velcro rollers to get hella curls

Princess Prsh: Does this give bounce to rebonded hair ? My hair became really flat

Maggie Putman: I love using this! But mine stopped working after 3 weeks...was so bummed.

samantha wright: Damb the volume though! My hair is a little shorter than yours so i feel that no curl because the brush is so big!!

Seventies Girl: Trying holding it on one section longer so the heat can penetrate the hair.

Layla Russell: what kinda of brush do you use for just brushing your hair like the light pink one seen in this video

Staci Ann: I got mine because of you and love it

Olga Gómez: Omg your hair is so long! I love itttt

Alana Marie: Can you try curling your hair with pegs next?

iheartsummer87: It kind of reminds me of Cristina applegates hair in don’t tell mom the babysitter is dead. Early 90s 80s hair . Reminds me of that. You are gorgeous!

💖bashful bre💖: I now have a Revlon 1 step blow. Drying brush stuck in my hair

Katelynn Migues: I really want this blow dryer.

Julz Alta: I think I will stick to my round brush then.

JC: I have that brush but that brush is very loud and heavy to work with

Lovedancing Xoxoxoxo: Did you ever think it’s the product you use .. maybe something that promotes curl

KB: I ordered it today :0
