Hi, ladies, so how you feeling about your hair right now, are you have to here with it? Are you speed-dialing your hairdresser, trying to set up a way for him or her to maybe come by and help you out a little bit? I think everybody is in a state of dismay and disarray when it comes to the quaff and, what's going on, if you have short hair like mine, especially a pixie cut, it's growing in in all different kinds of funky ways. If you have bangs they're, probably now down to the bridge of your nose, hair probably needs a little bit of a trim. Ends are frayed and fried, and so everybody is at that point scratching their heads wondering what I'm gon na do now. If you have somebody in your house who's, actually a skilled hairdresser, you're lucky, I have been cutting my mom's hair and my bonus daughter's hair, because I have like a basic skill set, I'm by no means a professional, but I can get the job done. But it's not as easy doing it to yourself. So what I want to do is I'd like to use this time to help you with your hair, so that you don't do anything crazy so that you don't give yourself bangs up to here or cut in some weird layers. And then you got to look at yourself for maybe another month before you can get to the hairdresser. Yes, I'm going to show you how to trim, maybe just a quarter of an inch off to get rid of those split ends. Different types of products to use different ways of now styling your hair, because it's growing in and it's becoming a different look, and that doesn't mean that you're stuck it just means. Now we have new options and new things to consider. So a video that I just released is called at-home Beauty and that can really help you out if you're dealing with some Gray's that are coming in they're, quite a few products that you can get at your local drugstore to buy you time. If you don't want to do full on gray coverage or don't feel that you really have the skillset and don't want to mess that up so there's some great little patchwork ways to tackle that, and that is really what I'm gon na call this. This is like little patchwork tips and tricks to help get us to that next, hair appointment whenever that may be, if you are like me - and you have short hair short hair is you know, use requires a good four to six-week trim in order to keep the Shape, if you don't, it really grows out, quick Pixies can become mullets in a heartbeat. So here's the deal. If you have a short pixie cut. You have two options right now, with your growing. Usually, what a lot of people will do with a pixie cut when they go to their hairdresser and they want to get more length into their hair. They will continue to cut the back. Keep the nape of the neck really really really tight and short. While these layers start to grow in and get some length, it is a long process. The layers around the face take a while to grow. I know in my case these guys grow a lot slower than these guys, so that can take a while and what it will lead to is a lot of kind of tucking hair behind the ears and and flattening it out until you get some length in here Now, in my case, as my hair is growing in the option that I'm using is to go for more of a shag, it will immediately create a look of longer hair instantly because the minute you have some length that's starting to come in in the back, and You fluff that out, it suddenly looks like you went from having barely any hair to now having a lot more hair. So it's a quick way to give your hair a longer look a more full look, but it means that you're now styling differently. Pixies are a lot more flat, a lot more to the face a lot more tucked. This is now going to be a lot more volume if you're somebody with longer hair and bangs be really really careful with cutting bangs. It is so easy to mess those up. If you've cut your bangs before and you feel like, you've got a good skill set, there continue to do so. Some bangs are easier than others. Those those basic kind of straight across bangs are a lot easier than the texturized kind of fringe bangs. If you feel that your bangs are just getting long, what I would recommend that you do is just find that bang layer - and then you can take your scissors and all you're going to do - is basically buzz off. Maybe a quarter of an inch of what you see here just to keep that hair healthy. I also have a couple of videos for you as a resource on how to style side swept bangs as well as curtain bangs. So here is now an option for you to maybe even change your look. There are lots of little Clips and things that you can use tiny little barrettes to be able to take your bangs and then clip it up off your face. If you just don't want to deal with bangs in your face anymore or some of these, you know really cute big barrettes, my hair is wet, so it's kind of hard to get the full-on look. But but you know what I'm saying: you've got: you've got options to keep hair out of your face. So the next thing is, let's talk about the trim and the trim is really going to be focused on the areas where our hair gets the driest and the most damaged, and I bet you would agree that that would be right here up along the face. The bangs the longest layers, and if you have some layers up top right in here and that's just because, if heat styling that's what makes those ends get super dry and the minute you cut off and I'm telling you even if it's just the tiniest amount. Your hair will instantly look a lot healthier and a lot more full. So what I'm gon na do is I'll push in a little bit and I'm gon na go through, and I'm gon na show you with my scissors, how I go through my front layers and just trim ever so slightly to help bridge the gap between where I Am now, and hopefully where I'll be in the salon in maybe four to six weeks, maybe fingers crossed okay, so here's my my shag that I've growing into and when it comes to trimming. I will start with finding my part where my hair falls as I'm choosing to wear it now and once I get that part, I will then take a look at these layers around my face and, and these are the places where it gets just a little bit Dry and up in here and in these little layers, especially areas that have had processing, highlighting and all of that super easy to be able to trim these. You never go like this. What you want to do section by section just take a comb that can section off your hair, and so I'm just going to start on this side of my part and I'm gon na go in find the first little front section here and I'm going to lift Up and right in here is where you can see the dryness, so I'm just and I'm literally I mean this is only a quarter of an inch that I'm going in and buzzing off. That'S it. I mean you won't even notice any length difference at all. Again. Just going in and and you'll see, I mean some of these are super super dry and uneven, and I just start in the front and make my way back right in here see there a few of those that are a little bit longer and they look thin. They look a little raggedy and just work my way around and again tiny tiny, tiny amount. All you're doing here is just buy in time to your hairdresser, and I just I pull up on the front on the sides. I just pull it out to the side and then microscopic amounts, I'm just cleaning up same on this side again, my my driest hairs are right around the front. It'S where my hair is the thinnest, and it's usually where you do most of your color processing as well. If you have any color or highlights it's usually focused around the face, which is why those hairs get so dry and so frazzled looking and I'm really just focusing on this top section, I'm not going below I'm letting length come in here on the sides and here In the back same thing, with the back again, just at an angle and you're all you're, looking for just those little dry pieces, okay, and so now that we've gone through and taking care of that. The next thing is inspiration. What is going to be your style? Inspo, as you deal with your ever-changing look, so as my hair grows in it gives me other opportunities to style it to create different, looks and, as I go from a pixie to a shag, I just decided to go online through either Instagram or Pinterest. Look for some shag, inspired ideas and, of course, the first person, the queen of the shag, lisa rinna and she's, worn her hair in a shag, practically her entire career and it's varied in length from a shorter shag to a longer shag. So I use that as my inspiration in terms of how to style it that will also determine the kind of product that I want to use in my hair. Now these are all by Helium hair care, I'm a big fan of this company. They use natural ingredients. The products contain sunscreen, no harsh chemicals and made in the good ol US of A so. The first one is called layer, one dual-purpose, pre and post style body enhance thermal buffer volume. Blowout. You can use it for curls for scrunching. So it's just to give a little bit extra pouf. You can take it in your hand and pull it through. You can spray it directly on your hair from root to end. I'M not I'm not a huge product junkie. I don't like too much stuff in my hair, especially when it's short it. It feels like it gets dirty real, real quick, so I will really temper how much okay, so that's in the hair. The next thing, I'm also going to add, is another product by helium, and this one is called quick fix, leave-in treatment, it fortifies the hair, strengthens moisturizes repairs and protects. So this is wonderful for again our ends, but a little bit goes a long way. Whoops. Is it sprays everywhere? Even that is too much. Let me tell off some of this, like I said, I'm not a huge product junkie. I just like a little bit so now, I'm not getting this near my roots, I'm just lifting and I'm getting my my ends especially up front product is in. I can already see my uh my curls starting to come in too funny what happens when hair grows right? Okay, next up is the blow dry. So again, like I said I am going for the shag and I'm going for a lot more volume than I used to wear so I'm using a brush by its it's by from and it's kind of a square round brush, and it's really really good at getting. Some height and some volume - and I also have a smaller round brush for the back just to be able to kick that out a little bit. You will notice that a lot of the blow dry is just pushing it and moving it in all different directions. The other thing too, instead of slick slicking, the back part down, I'm now kicking that up. So I'm running the blow-dryer underneath that to give some lift okay, so hair is probably half to three-quarters dry, and now I'm going to use the round brush to start to get things in place. What I do with the shag and with the longer bang is - and you will see this if you go to my side-swept bang tutorial - I take my front hair and I always start in front because this is the most unruly. I never saved that for last and I collect my front pieces and I go from underneath and I flip it back, and that gives a little bit more of a flip and a swoop upfront. Next, I'm going to focus on my part line, and I want to now get some height up here - I'm not wearing a flat hairstyle anymore, I'm going for lift, so that lift is going to be right here in the part and in the root and coming forward. Everything is now going back as opposed to straight and under here's a trick instead of flipping the hair all the way out and leaving it like that, that's gon na make a big ol wing to the side. You can flip it, but press it really close to your face and then pull it down and then just hold it and it's gon na give it a slight Bend out as opposed to just a massive wave. So let's talk about the back of the hair, the back is going to be blown out in two different sections. This top part here is going to go back this bottom part here we're going to get to flip up. So there's going to be a point here where I'm going to stop rolling under and I'm going to start flipping up and now the little brush to kick up the back ends and then just take it and shake it. Okay - and so I mean, isn't it amazing how just a different way of blowing out and styling your hair can make it seem like it grew three inches overnight. It'S kind of wild to wrap this up the product that I'm going to use for styling. It'S a product by helium and it's called fiber flex, multi-function styling spray and finishing spray great for texturizing. To me. It'S like a combo of hairspray and texturizer spray. So I will take this kind of tip my hair upside down and then just spray. Little hits just everywhere run my fingers through it, bring it back and now just piece it into place, and I will use the helium air spray, their hairspray as a final setting spray, and in this case I don't kind of spray all over and leave it. I will just take my hands, move it and then just get the hair exactly where I want it do a little bit of a lift in the back. Your fingers are your best friend with a look like this. Alright, let me check the perimeter make sure I did a decent job in the back hold on. Why? Yes, I did okay, there, you go, take a look so there's the back. As you can see, this top part goes back. This is now getting really PC and kind of kicked out. There'S that side and now this side and the hair looks healthier. Those little split ends that I had right here around my face are now gone. I'Ve got some healthy products that moisturize and have sunscreen to continue to protect my hair, and I feel like I have bought myself yet another month or six weeks until I can see my hairdresser, but I think I'm just gon na continue on this trend of shagging. It and letting it grow and and and see where it gets. You know who knows it's it's time for a change and, and sometimes things that happen in life can spur about those changes. My goodness, I hope this has been helpful for you and it's at least providing you a couple of really simple steps to make. You feel better about your do and not do and not do anything drastic. Celeste McFarlen: Thank you for this video! I have worn my hair in a pixie style for a few years but was at a loss for what to do when it gets "shaggy". With your inspiration I have successfully made the switch from a mess to a shag. I look and feel sassy now Thank you!

Cindy's Cozy Cove: I’ve been trimming my own hair for years! And also doing my roots many times when I can’t get into the salon. It’s really no big deal and not hard to do. But I appreciate you showing others who don’t know how to do it. It is helpful for them and fun to watch.

Patricia: Due to you I’ve embraced my curl too. We are in a strict lockdown here in New Zealand and after doing my hair after following one of your videos I loved the look. Also my helmet hair previous blow dry is outdated. Anyway my hubby who is an essential worker came home and thought I’d been to the salon!

Jude Eustis: Love it!! Exactly the look I'm trying to achieve while growing out my pixie cut. Love your videos ❤️

Kari: Since I've been furloughed from work, I've actually begun letting my curls in my short hair, do what they want. Feels pretty good for now! We'll see! Thanks for sharing your tips and "flips"! Love watching your videos! I always get great inspiration and insight from you!!!

Cheryl Gautreau: Dominique. You have such a calming presence. Whenever I've been feeling anxious due to whatever lately, I watch a couple of your videos. Thank you.

Elizabeth Jemetz: Thank you for making this video Dominique! This really helped me to feel better about myself during these times. Today I got the courage and trimmed my own hair while watching your video. I DID IT! I'm so happy how it looks and feel better about going out into the world again. . . hopefully soon. Thank you again!

Suzanne Vaillancourt: Great job! I'm happy to report that my home hair colour job turned out well (but it's a messy job). One rule to live by when cutting your own hair: you can always cut shorter but you can't cut longer. BTW: like the curly look on you.  Would love to see a Spring look book

Maree Larson: I can't thank you enough as your have changed my life. I am 57 and struggling with my new look of overweight, facial and hair texture changes. Gosh growing older was becoming overwhelming there for a patch. Then I started watching your channel, and have been hooked ever since. I watch your sessions over and over, until I have it down pat. Now my skin, make up and hair looks fantastic. I feel younger and more alive than ever with my new look. Today...was my first day ever in my life to cut it myself. Thanks to your session here, you gave me hope. Thank you sooooo much Doninique. You are a wonderfully kind and caring soul, with so much knowledge to share. Xxx

Jen Farmer: I needed this! I have a pixie and I was telling my hubs last week that I'm worried about it turning into a mullet. I checked the back the other day and it isn't looking too bad, yet. I never thought to transition to a shag. I'm going for it! You've also helped with my bangs. I've been stressing about themand I've avoided cutting them due to bad self- cutting experiences in the past. Now they need more than just a trim since they're so long. But you've inspired me to just take off 1/4 inch everytime I wash until it's right. Thanks so much!

Christine Ikswoktiw: Thank you for your short hair styling videos. I lost my hair do to health issues and medication. The hair loss was the worse part. I had to cut it short. Finally, it's growing-thin but growing. Your styling videos help me see that short hair can be pretty and easy going, easy styling. Again thanks! Stay safe!

Linda Madeline: Thank you, Dominique! I used to trim my hair often when I was younger, but now I was becoming weary of attempting to trim it myself during the stay-at-home order. You've given me the confidence to try your techniques! Could you possibly give us any pointers for a men's haircut? My husband wants me to trim his hair this week! HELP!!!

Heather Janczyszyn: Gorgeous! As always, your videos are great for teaching us new ways to style our hair and I love the makeup tutorials as well! Thank you for your inspirational messages , especially at this time.

Doane Triggs: AMAZING! This couldn’t be more on target in terms of suggestions and instruction. This being said, over the years I have noted that there is virtually no hairstyle in which you don’t look stunning, regardless of it being short or long! Thank you for the inspiration.

Connie Reno: This was SO helpful!!! I have a pixie I’ve decided to grow out and this is a great path to follow during the grow out. So I thank you so much!! I love your hair tutorials just as much as your makeup tutorials!! ❤️

M Anne Mc2: Thank you! I trimmed a few ends using your advice❤️. I have decided to let my bangs grow out while we are in quarantine. I have chosen to say “I have decided “ as it is much more empowering than “ oh my goodness, my bangs are out of control!” I’m always looking for silver linings. Be well everyone!

Tracey Bontoft: I just got this haircut. You make it look so easy, and it looks perfect! ♥️

Janet Tekenos: Great video Dominique, as usual. Condolences to you for the loss of your long time friend. I recently (before social distancing) met up with a childhood friend that I hadn't seen in 50 years, so your story really hit home with me Now, I'm off to try and blow dry my overgrown, short hair style. I like the idea of flipping out the hair on my neck line.

CLTserendipity: Really practical, creative and fun video. I enjoyed seeing your DIY techniques and seeing how minimal changes make a big difference. You have beautiful hair, although that was way more product than I'd be willing to use. I really enjoyed your home tips and techniques. Thanks!

Peggy Ekena: Ceron would be so proud! Thank you so much for the helpful tips for keeping our short hair looking better and healthy! You are a doll and such a resource during these "shelter in place" days. I hope your family is safe and well.

BendnStretch with Sue: Wow, there is nothing you can’t do you’re such an inspiration.

Helene Titsch: The blowout hit it out of the park for me! I'm 6 weeks out from my last trim and in the beginning of growing out my pixie. The last blowout I did looked like something out of the 60s and, at 67, I know that look only too well. I followed your instructions almost to the letter and I'm thrilled. Only wish I had updated by FB photo AFTER the new blowout and not before! I have yet to pick up the shears for a trim but, the way things are going, that is certainly on my horizon. Many thanks for all the tips, tricks, and advice...working from home I'm finally finding time to play with all those products stored in the vanity. Be well, be safe, be happy!

Pamela Harris: Thank you Dominique - My hair is about the same length as yours - normally cut every 3-4 weeks. In my solitude here I have tried new products and tools, developed a few new skills and just decided to let my hair stay longer even after we are released to the hair salon. So glad to hear that a credible person like you is having the same thoughts - I'm not actually crazy!

Tina S.: Fortunately I've been cutting my own hair for nearly 35 years now. The first time I did it, it took 4 hours while I figured out how to reach the back and get it right. I can do it in 20-30 minutes now. (I've had varying versions of pixie cuts over the years.) You've given some great tips, many of which I've used before with great success when letting my hair transition to a slightly longer style. Great job!

Joan Kilburn: I can do this to a certain extent, been working in a salon for years, but don't do hair. That said, I am thanking you for helping others. Dominique, you are absolutely amazing. Like one of your other viewers said, you can do anything. She is correct. Thanks so much and God bless you and yours.

Catherine Walker: Your style, kindness, and warmth remind me of a quote from Coco Chanel being - "You can be gorgeous at thirty, charming at forty, and irresistible for the rest of your life'. Thank you Dominique for all you do for your ever faithful audience, like me, that count down the days to your next post every week. Would you kindly name what eye shadow colors you are wearing or possibly do an upcoming video on your eye look today - it is stunning as always!! Thanks again:)

Susan Weiner: I love your videos and look forward to seeing you every week. You are so brave to trim your own hair, thanks for those tips( I would never have the nerve). As usual you look beautiful and I love your eye look, so flattering! Have you done a tutorial on this look? If not could you please share. Thank you and stay safe.

Carole Loftus: This is my favorite on you. You make it look so easy. Thanks for the home school lessons! Stay safe.

Barb Gafford: Thank you! My hair is shorter so couldn't do a shag look, but just going around my head and trimming those dry pieces as you showed has made such a difference! I feel so much better after a trim!

Robin Holbrook: Two things: your hair is SO SHINY! HOW? And what scissors do you use? And I love you! Thanks SO MUCH for continuing to film during these difficult times. You bring us joy and calm. You’re a solid touchstone, Dominique. Your faith shines through, dear.

gdufresne1957: Thank you for the tips for styling curly hair that is growing out from a short cut. It was very helpful since I am unable to get my hair cut right now. It is a small thing in the scheme of what is happening right now but I felt much better today after following your styling tips.

Nesma A.Elborai: Dominique ! You are amazing ! Really thank you so much ! You helped me so much in styling my short hair . You really want to help and you explain every detail , you are also spontaneous , honest and so elegant ! Thank you so much !

Julia Walsh: This is an excellent tutorial on diy upkeep on your hair! Thanks, Dominique!

Kim Valles: Dominique, you always manage to look amazing and can do no wrong, even trimming your own hair! That is the coolest brush- I must find one. I am in the process of growing out my natural color and have about 3" grow-out, which at 60 is about 60% grey. Think a shag might be a nice cut...when I can see my stylist again.

Ana Valdesuso: Loved the video Dominique. Thank you for the tips. I could dye my own hair I've done it since my 20's; 54 yrs young now lol But I also go to the salon and get it done. My hair is long but I am going to try to trim my bangs. Love your makeup can you do a tutorial. Thank you for your videos during this time.

szpirita: Thank you Dominique! This is very useful. You are rocking all length and styles.

Jose & Irma Atiles: I love it. I’m definitely going to look into those styling products. Very helpful tutorial. Thank you.

Robin Jeffrey: Really enjoy your hair videos. I’ve learned some tricks from you! I have had a long pixie for years and now it is a l o n g pixie! But I agree with you that sometimes these forced “opportunities “ can lead us to new discoveries. Thanks for the insights!

Juliette Matoski: I have fine hair, and every once in a while when I need to trim the front, I will take a small amount of the front and twist it a few times then trim the ends. Just a little bit, by twisting it I don't end up with a harsh line. It looks smoother. Thanks for all the info that you share! Love your channel!!

Floralscent Kim: I am a hairdresser and this is the first video of hair cutting that hasn’t given me a panic attack! Way to go!

Sharon Palatnik Simoncini: Thank you!! Another wonderful video that you, of course, look fabulous in! My hair has been growing out from the “Lisa Renna” style for about a year - but your hair looks so great - maybe I should cut it shorter again! BTW - It always surprises me when people click ‘thumbs down’ on your videos. Absolutely cannot understand why!

Rena Johnson: Love the video as always! I’ve been trimming my hair, my husbands, my brother’s and now possibly a neighbor. My girls were told by our hairdresser to “run” when they saw me with scissors in my hands, guess I really messed up on the bang trims long ago I agree, if you follow the cut and take off a little it makes a big difference. I will enjoy watching your “grow out” styles, you are so talented with hair and make-up! What I’d love to see on your videos is a way to eliminate those small veins around the knees and ankles. Mine are too small to inject, would love to see if there is a laser treatment that can be done and how long it will last. Seems like this past year they are more noticeable, HELP‼️

Katelin Marshall: Love your ideas on the shag. I have a shorter pixie than yours currently. It had been four weeks since my last hair cut and it was driving me nuts so I trimmed it. I probably shouldn’t have touched it now weeks later, I may have to trim again because my mullet is starting to show again ☺️

Karen Kaza: It's amazing how the teeniest bits of trim throughout a hairstyle just give such a needed pick me up. Love your style and I'm jealous of your curl! Stay well!

Janene Felter: Always a breath of fresh air Dom!! And you were early today!! Thank you, as always, for bringing us light and ideas for being a better, happier aging woman! Hugs from MT

amgsell: I love it! Trimming my pixie today. Thank you for the tip!!

LInda Pierce: Why do you make EVERYTHING you do look so EASY?!! You are indeed an inspiration!

Gerry Savery: Love, love, love. Your hair is just where mine is right now. This video was SO helpful. If by chance you don’t get to a salon in 6-8 weeks, can you please give us an update as to what to do with our longer hair? Thanks.

Patricia Palilla: I should have listened to my Mother back in the day to go to beauty school! I've mastered cutting my husbands hair for the past month and now I'll put your very helpful tutorial to work. Thank you!!!!

martha gomez: Thank you for your positive attitude, your educational instruction and most importantly your attitude towards taking care of ourselves to the best of our ability. You are a great inspiration, God bless you & your family!

Jean Fasulo: Beautiful as always ❤️ thank you , I’m also a pixie haircut for many years and chestnut brown, but at 56 years young and in our crazy time I’m now embracing my new silver hair and loving it . Thank you for always being here for us. Much love and many blessings to you and your ❤️

Maria Genovese: Beautiful Dominique! That's a gorgeous style on you. You have a nice haircut. I'm definitely going to try this I'm about 2 weeks overdue for my trim and touch up. my side swept bangs getting really long so I'm going to try it wish me luck. Thanks for this fantastic video. You and your family stay safe and healthy.

Joy Cohen: Thank you. Loved this video - soooo helpful! Will definitely try after my grown out hair after I donated it

E Koutso: that's my fave style, well done! great advice on how to deal with no hairdressing these days! Thank you :)

Lucy I: You are so cute and fabulous! Your hair looks fantastic; I think you should definitely continue rocking this look! I feel like this is a good opportunity for all of us to grow out our hair, or a bad color, or whatever we were too afraid to do in public before...

Lisa Gordon: Really helpful Dominique! My hair is cut just like yours, but even shorter side pieces. However, I think mine is denser. You also have more natural wave. Still, good styling tips and I'll look into Helium. Always on the hunt for volume but not weight! My hairstyle icon is Lisa Rinna! Always has been

Kathie Goodpaster: LOVE LOVE LOVE your color and cut!! I've been trying to grow out my pixie and cutting myself as well. Used to be a cosmetologist so got too gutsy with how much I cut off. was going for inverted bob, but just love your cut more!!

Carollyn Rock: OMG, I was just telling my hubby that I'm dying to take scissors to it. And willing to practice on him! Thank you for this. In the last few months I've been enjoying your videos. I really look forward to your weekly drops. Thank you!

Joanne Edmonds: You did fabulous! I can never coordinate my hands with a round brush, you have so much ease with it!❤

Nora Martini: I get so inspired by Dominique's video that I will even review old ones when I have time. I have the time. In addition I have started to try to do some things myself. I bought a kit on amazon to dye my eyebrows. Cost $14.99 for 3 applications. Easier than I could imagine. Took me 10 minutes and they look amazing. Also purchased gel manicure strips for my nails. Easy to apply and look fabulous. Cost $8.99. I know there are more important things in the world today but taking a little time for yourself can help keep you feeling normal and sane during this confinement period. Don’t feel guilty for nourishing yourself and your family. We really need it now. Tomorrow is just around the corner.

KyCrafter&Bro. (Mom managed): This is exactly where my pixie is at right now. Thank you so much for this! I have been searching for days for the perfect video! <3

Sheryl Dabrowski: You always look beautiful no matter what you do to your hair this hairstyle ‍♀️ is ok however there are other hairstyles that are much more becoming to you I love your videos you are a great example to look to. Keep up the great work

Cami FromRI: Another big help to me, Dominique. My hair style is similar to yours but my hair is thicker Even so, I managed to trim it and style it a bit so it's not just a giant bubble of hair! Thank you so much.

Lisa Allen Brennan: Thanks for giving me another option for grown out hair! You are so clever and I truly appreciate you!

Margaret Leetzow: I am so appreciative of your tutorials, as I have hair very much like yours, and do not always have good hair days! I would like to share what I just figured out about using the concentrator on the blow dryer. All these years I have been putting it on the dryer perpendicular to the handle, when it is recommended by hairdressers and dryer manufacturers to place it on the dryer parallel to the handle. I have tried this, and not only does it fit the machine better, but I really do get smoother, shinier hair. Of course, there is a learning curve to pointing the dryer correctly, but I recommend it! Thanks for all you do!

Susan Perry: Dominique, Several years ago I invested in small clippers like our Salons use for the trimming of my semi bangs, etc. between my salon visits if necessary. They came in handy 3 weeks ago, when I did a full hair cut on myself of 2 1/2 ". It gets warm down here in NC and working in my flower gardens, I've got to have less hair! Ha! Yes, I've cut my hair before several times. I wear my hair flipped up on off my neck, semi short with layers. Last Friday, I cut my widow father's hair (age 86), he was very happy. Will be doing my husband's hair this week. He asked for a hair cut tonight for later this week.....as I passed the test, with flying colors on my father! When you can get out again, recommend every household own a pair hair clippers/scissors Thanks for your tips on drying your hair and your products!

Tracy Bjoro: Love you Dominique!! All your ideas are nailing it!! I take time to relax with your posts!! Could you do a tutorial on how to line eyes with a corner wing?.. I dont wear much make up but think that look is simple and great!!

Sally Piercy: I’ve been doing the very same thing with my pixie! Your tutorial gave me some good tips!! Love Helium products! ❤️

Jean Carroll: When your hair is thinning, an expert haircut is really important and you have demonstrated how my hairstylists have approached cutting my hair.

The Hilton Girl: I started doing this a few years ago myself, after entering a period of either buying food, or getting a haircut. I was a little apprehensive at first, however if you watch Dominique, she displays how easy it its to do, and very well. I have a short bob cut, twice a year, and in between by cutting the dry broken ends off, it does give your hair a healthy appearance. I use a fabulous conditioning hair mask by, Fanola, its called Nutri care mask, and it comes in a huge pot. It comes in a huge pot, it conditions like the expensive ones, but at a fraction of the price. Thank you for the lovely video, and stay safe, Dominique, and everybody else out there too, in this harrowing time. x

Julia J: Dominique, you are such a professional; your tips are easily understood by those of use without your experience. I just have to tell you, from one curly girl to the next, you hair was beautiful before you styled it...would love to see a tutorial where you leave it natural...just so curly girls can see how to manage their curls (which always have a mind of their own:) )

Chrissy Bacon: I have also been growing out a pixie since March. I have gotten to the mullet stage and am going to have to bring the back up to 'wait' for the sides. Great tips on blow drying! Thank you!

Laura Pearman: Dear Dominique, This was the first time I have followed you & what a delightful tutorial. I also have a pickie-style so decided to follow your excellent advice and it worked - much appreciated . You didn’t go over the top in any direction..kept to your beautiful naturalness & chat was natural. Also, your make-up is amazing. Look forward to follow you from now onwards. Merci beaucoup Laura

Vanita Mann: Thank you for always being so encouraging in each video. I hope you, your family, and others stay safe and healthy, and remember that this too shall pass. Now, how can we encourage you?

Barbara: Excellent tutorial! I had a hard time finding a guide since I have short hair! Thank you!

Teresa Harper: Thank you so much. I am in the UK and we are in another lockdown with hairdressers not opening for another 6-8 weeks, having been closed since end December, so it will be a total of almost 4 months. I am 60, don’t colour my hair anymore and usually have a pixie cut. My hair was awful until I discovered your video. The mistake I have been making is to try and keep it sleek. After giving it a trim as you suggested and embracing the shaggy cut by blow drying it away from my face, I am delighted as it looks so much better. I don’t have your beautiful hair, however mine is a 100% improvement. So glad I found you. Teresa

Maria Stalzer: Love the shag, think it will look great on you! PS, have a similar style. Knowing how to trim "in between" helps a great deal!

Kim Hough: You can make any hair style look good Dominique! Thanks for these great tips! Love ya!

Cindy Smaha: You make this look so easy!!! I am going to try this tomorrow. I have been cutting and coloring my hair for over 25 years. Yes, I'm really cheap. I tell people God is my hairdresser because I'm praying the whole time! Thank you for the great tips on cutting and the blow out. ‍♀️

Welcom Welcom: As a new subscriber and after viewing all your amazing videos going back to the beginning have one thing to add: I'm in awe of you! U're an outstanding compassionate human being and make this world a better place! Your humour wit and joie de vivre are priceless. Absolutely thrilled I found your channel thank you! Divine Miss D

Mandy Jolil: You make it look so easy my hair is very fine was short as I took your style as my inspiration when I went to my hairdresser figures crossed I'm going to try this stay safe xx

Robin Regan O'Connell: It takes a special, strong person to be able to provide a video for all those that love you and look forward to every Thursday with you, after losing your very best friend <3 You are wonderful Dominique <3 My sincere condolences <3 <3 <3

Crafting with Dawn: Thank you so much for these wonderful tips. Now I feel I can do my own hair, at least for a while.

Jenn Lloyd: Thank you for this video on hair!! Oh my goodness I am so grateful you posted this step by step on how tiny to make the cuts and how drastic of an effect it can make... I usually think the more drastic you cut then you get the drastic difference. This proves otherwise to me so thank you so much!!! I love your very, very insightful and beautiful video's. It's so much fun to watch you and feel like I can take care of myself too and you show me how to do it in such a glamorous, classy way!! You're such a beauty, and so educated in so many things I really, really admire you so much. I would love to see anything on money.. I know you are a news anchor or news reporter? But, I am looking for something new to change my career as I am now a single mom after 20 years married to a unfaithful narcissist, and have been divorced for almost 4 years and I'm just really tired of struggling. I am so dang tired of it. I would just love career advice that would be awesome to hear from you on a video someday? Thank you so much for all you do to help us! You're truly an asset, and role model in my life.

Linda Marocco: This is a great helpful video!... I have a bob hairstyle and through this all decided to let the greys come through and see what it is all about!... you are so awesome for filming this video after such a deep loss...... so, my question to you, because all you do is give to us.... what can we do for you at this difficult time????... I am ready to do anything that will ease your pain, if only for a moment!... much love and appreciation!!!..

Sheila MacKenzie: Love her videos, so hopeful she keeps going with her charm, pertinent information and lovely comments

Mia Michaels: Ok, seriously she could wear her hair any way and still look gorgeous!

Melinda Record: Just stumbled across you in my YouTube search for hair solutions to my pandemic pixie ~ starting to look and feel like a Troll ! Your video was a huge help and encouraged me to "stay the course" and don't do anything drastic [I cancelled my Amazon hair clipper order ... !] Thank you so much ~ you are terrific!

Kerrie Ward: I love it!!! Dominique - you absolutely set the tone for the wake up, fix up, do your hair, put on some makeup and face the day!! So inspired - which is what I needed after the weeks of yoga pants- work from home - environment. Changing from putting on a filter to putting on makeup!

Clare Parr: Stupidly gave my hair a ‘good’ trim back in January but now I want it like yours!! You give inspiration

Nancy Holley: I have cut my kids hair and my own hair at home so I was totally ok with a trim. My hair looks sooo much better. I loved your video today.

R.Melinda R.: You know, one thing this has taught us that nails, hair, makeup are not the most important things BUT its nice to have options to look better!

Debbie Bifolck: Love your video's! My hair style was very similar to yours a few years back. Love it! My hair is now long with bangs.......well they are growing out now. I trim just a little for the ends. My biggest problem was the skunk look! I remedied that problem with the guidance of my stylist. I may be quarantined here in CT but I'm not letting it get me down! At least not without a fight! Have a wonderful and blessed week!❤❤❤

Gia: Your videos are very helpful and uplifting. This one is as well. Thank you Dominique. Blessings ✨

Robyn Staton: Thank you, Dominique for helping us to feel BOLD and to feel Blessed! I’m going to give this hair trim a try!

Kathy Parsons: As always, such a wonderful video. Thank you for this tutorial!

Momma Bear: You have THE PRETTIEST HAIR!!!! I love the color, the texture, the shine, the thickness. It’s just absolutely beautiful!!

Diogenes 704: great video! You are so talented in many ways! I did contact mystylist who offered to drop off touch up color for my roots until she can see me. Must say it worked great, she gave me terrific instructions. Then I was inspired to give myself bangs! Did a fair job (maybe a bit short but they will grow) Also, noticed in your video you have such beautiful eyes? Are they hazel? Green? Anyway, you are beautiful on inside and out! I look forward to your videos, instagrams, etc. Stay well and safe! Until next week.....

Doris Day: I have been searching for quite some time to find a decent tutorial for my hair so am delighted to have found your video thank you. I will follow your instructions tomorrow and hopefully, my hair will look in better condition until I manage to get to the hairdressers.

Madison UTube: You are so talented. Can’t believe you just cut your own hair. You are so good at every thing! Of course, having a beautiful face and hair helps. I have been inspired by this to “trim” my own hair for temporary hold. Thank you for the inspiration!
