How To Achieve A Curly Set W/ No Heat, Rollers Or Rods: Foil Method

This was my attempt at doing a twist and curl set with aluminum foil. My mother use to use this method on my hair when I was little along with news papers. This a great way to get curls without using tools or heat!

Products used:

Water for molding/ setting the hair

Shea Moisture as my cream/ twist agent

Jane Carter Nourish and Shine as my oil

Hey, I am about to roll my hair, but I don't have any rods or anything. I can curl my hair with here in condo, since this was supposed to be a temporary location, and so I have all my things in storage and I want to ride, set my hair or put some curls on my twists. So what I'm using today is some aluminum foil. Yes, so what I'm doing is taking the foil? Not. Thank you very much pick up two more strips cuz. I have already set the background, I'm taking the foil and you just call it fold the foil in a manner that is going to be sturdy enough to roll your hair with it, creating almost like a flexi rod. If you will so, what we doing is I'm using the I'm using the Karen's body, beautiful, vanilla, latte, leave-in and spraying that on my hair and I'm thinking my world oil, my softy growth oil and I'm applying some of that on my hair and then I'm using My shea moisture growth, thickening milk as my cream plant, some of that on my hair and then I want to take the foil and I'm going to roll my hair in a manner like ticks up. Let see rock and I'm doing a spiral motion so that the hair is not overlapping on the other, rollers or foil sets. I do have to twist, so they are overlapping each other. Let make sure that you roll your hair in a way that the ends are secure so that they don't come loose enter you to the roots. You just want to wrap that foil around to secure it like a flexi rod, and there you have it. This should be wrapped like this and you shouldn't experience any pain or, if you do should you should have light pain, while sleeping so I'm going to wrap my hair and go to bed and then I'll come back in the morning once had to get done. So I am using the nourish and shine by Jane Carter and taking out the foil and I'm making sure that I take it out very slowly, because I don't want it to snag on my hair causing any tears or rips. So I was really liking how the curl looked as I was taking them down. I thought that they were looking pretty nicely, so I was really excited about the possible outcome, so here I'm just trying to fluff up my roots because I felt like it was too flat. It didn't have as much volume as I would have liked. So I played around with the style as much as I could until I could get a desired shape on how I wanted it to look. So I initially thought that it was really pretty. I liked how the texture came out, but I was still feeling kind of unsure about it, so here I'm just kind of showing how I looked with the curls, and I liked it initially. I thought that it was very cute, but I was still feeling unsure, as I said it before, so I decided to pin it up only because I was headed to a meeting where I had to give a small presentation, and I just felt like my hair. Just wasn't doing it for what I was going for, so I pinned it up as you can see, so I just decided to rock to rock it this way I felt like it just looked a little bit better and it was more presentable for what I was Going for or for work, so after some adjustment on my bangs and such this is what I came up with. This is my hair. The next day I just slept with my satin bonnet on, and I just got up in the morning - and I just fluffed it out. So it looked more like just the regular twist out the next day, and I actually liked the results better here and I'm not sure if, because of the definition from the foil came out, and my in my hair still had that actual twist pattern that I liked And it shrunk up a little bit, so I actually liked my hair better this day. Ironically, so I was happy with the way it looked. You

NaturalMe4C: This was cool! :)

WEG918: The first day hair was WONDERFUL. I agree the foil was creative. I remember my mother rolling my hair with brown paper bags when I was a little girl also. Second day was just as good. Nice job.

Andiee Bee: This style looks great! Cool idea to use foil as well. Thanks for sharing :)

Erica Demetrise: I absolutely loved how your hair turned out! You are so creative! You are one of my fave 4c hair youtubers!

Andrea Lewis: Turned out really nice I loved it!

BeautiFroHair: Thanks! I filmed it last week and didn't post it cause I was still unsure about how I felt about the way it turned out. I'm going to try it again cause the initial curl came out really pretty. Thanks for the encouraging words.

The cheap side of me tells me not to waste foil lol. But it was cute when u pinned it up. 2nd day hair looked more like locs.....either way I liked it
