How To Cut A Long & Bob Haircut Tutorial Step By Step

Long Layered haircut for women with Razor & Bob Haircut Tutorial.

Learn how to cut best hair.

With Marissa now his of the first lesson of the day is when you shampoo the hair, and you condition it. You got a common at the backwash yeah, because we don't comb it at the backwash with a conditioner in it. Then, when your client comes back from the back wash and now you're saying like, why is it still tagless because you didn't break it up at the back wash with the conditioner? The conditioners gon na, give you the moisture in the slip so and then these these? These detangling brushes have been like they're good, but they're also kind of like less good, because people just use these brushes to rate the hair out. So that's why this great comb here, why tooth comb? If you're gon na detangle the hair, you section the hair out, you break it up, like so the art of being an apprentice or of someone, that's taking care of hair. It starts from the minute the client walks in. I think that was right. The way to the backwash, every single experience that you do, it's very important, I'm telling you because you can be hairdresser and you want to be anything you want to be successful, don't know Marissa good, she does and when you're combing the hair out come and see This Lauren sorry to watch when you come in the hair. You can come in here, but that's gon na pull all the tangles together tangle. So then, once you've got that there then you're gon na come right here: Romi and you're gon na comb it from the you're gon na work from the ends off yeah. But you see what happens, is these detangling brushes have become a get out of jail? And I don't like it: yeah, I'm not a big fan, even though we do make them, because that everyone's looking for a for a consumer, I think the detangling brush is fantastic for a hairdresser. It'S good to have every chore that's available to us, but then what happens is Young Harris has come to the market coming into the hair business think I would just detangle it with a detangling brush, doesn't detangle her hair anywhere near as good as a comb? That'S right, you do don't ya, but this kind of fine hair gets tangled up a lot because it's curly and she doesn't have enough layers in her head now, I'm in a second. In fact, why don't you show that our audience now, because they're tuning in oh look how cute that is all smashed hey? Why is he always was so quick? Why is it always anti guy? She was sending me a text message and I fell in my pocket and I was something stupid like okay, and I was like really look at your caves is my phone Wow. I think you should say it state evaded. He'S got temper so show us that style that you're looking at for its help me your honor, also my clients. I let my clients to make sure okay, so well this without the bank, I'm talking I'm chatting and she just she can't listen, no she's like if it was 30 years. It was 30 years ago, she'd be a New York broad. Okay, now squeeze out the moisture squeeze out the moisture so that it's not like sopping wet and now, let's have a look at Marissa's inspiration. Marissa, Oh over to you Nate. Can I talk? Yes, you can to walk. This is okay. Well, without the bangs, though this is, this is okay. Without the bangs you're, like all like you're, like you're, that Sean on the top, I don't know, what do you think give it to me? Okay, cuz, you want to leave it laughs. Give you that I get the creative freedom? Oh, the creative freedom. Now you fold your towel. This is how you do it yeah, then you're, professional mr. Roman know. What we're gon na do is we're gon na add some conditioner we're gon na put a little bit of cream whip in their hair to prep it. So I always do my product placement in front of my client whoa ShamWow yeah, lot of cream a lot of cream. That'S right! Baby is we're gon na make it like full and lush, and sometimes it's nice to get that product in see you when you're cutting. You kind of prep the hair cuz. I want me to kind of go from wet to semi dry with the haircut when you're applying products don't slap it on work it through make it as graceful as possible, so that you know you just look as professional as possible. Push that product in now. What we're gon na do is we're gon na comb it through through and that'll just the cream whip is a lightweight cream. Conditioner, that's a leave-in! It'S not a rinse out! Smells nice yeah! This, your friend she's calling you she said. What are you doing on? I watching you on TV, I'm watching you on my computer. In you know it's a clincher. It'S a clean show my New York, broad okay. So now this is what we're gon na. Do we're gon na section it down the center. So when you say down the center, you put your finger on, you come come right, the way through, and then you get a really nice clean section see that super clean set hardest part of beauty school is it. I had a problem. I first started could not get a clean section. You couldn't get a cleanse and after a while I had really clean sections. Yes, I might say she was like Lian's accent. I was like thank you. Well, you have a clean section ooze, my dear right, it's gon na make a great hairdresser chatting. I know. Okay, do you have anybody watching? Is anyone watching my young Marissa yeah students that ones asking does he slice Christmas ham like that Christmas, guys, jumping the gun? Jumping the gun I mean, if you're watching give your friends a shout out all right now, what we're gon na do is we got ta, try and steady it down. Cuz she says she's in luck. She doesn't move. Let me shake it so now we're gon na split the head: we're gon na split the hair right through across the top, not the top of the head, but just above the crown right here. So you can see the crown area is right here. So we've split it and we're gon na start by layering, the back, so I'm gon na use my razor cuz. That'S a really great way for me to kind of keep the hair nice and long. We want to keep her hair long, but really what she's? Looking for she's looking more volume and she doesn't have super dense thick hair, but this head does Pat out. We fill out a lot all right, so we're gon na take the first thing we'll do. Is I'm gon na take a central section and it's like right down the center and I'm gon na comb, this hair straight back, I'm gon na drop the chair down just a little and that's gon na enable me to get the perfect start vantage point. So this nice thing about this comb is it's nice and big. Do not want you to do gone. Get me a white comm from the from the counter there. Let'S get a new comb it'll be easier for people to see. I think if I work with my white comb, just bring it over and let's show everybody it before we open it. You can see cuz these poems of brilliant combs, and this is the a pc3. So it's a white cone. Let me see if I can just open. That'S in a row, show comb and you'll be it's good for seeing the sectioning thanks Ron just leave that piece of paper right there, so I can get it out of inventory. Ha ha all right. So now, with this central section and I dropped it, I'm not gon na lift it up. I'M gon na comb, the hair back, I'm gon na keep it nice even tension and we're gon na choose our start point she's gon na be about here and I'm gon na slide this hand out, as I start, to apply the razor I'll. Do it two ways, so the reason why do it two ways is this: is the center back of their head, so I'm always coming in. So if this is the center, I've got to comb it in both ways and that will establish the length of the layers. Now, the reason why I slide my fingers is because I'm working towards the length right here you can see. I always want to see where I, where I was that's my point right here, look all the way out to a pre-existing length. There you go so I kept all the length it's actually falling out, kept all the length now, I'm going to do it exactly the same and I'm gon na comb. It the opposite way. So you'll notice my hand position changes because of but I can approach it. The same both ways - I'm always combing inwards, so with its being the central section through the back, I'm gon na comb it in both ways - and this is like a second pass - and it gives me a chance to look at it twice. Alright. So now I've cut my first section in that's my guide: I'm gon na stay on her right hand, side and I'm gon na comb, everything in towards the center, so that and I'm gon na kind of scoop it because it's a razor cup, it's a little bit More loose, you should be able to see the guide. Just a little right in here is that seeable yeah, so because it's a razor cretak slew. So it means that I can be more fluid and while using what we call an open stroke as we work through the hair, we do have a razor advanced class coming up in New York in November. I believe it may be the last class of the year in our Academy November, 4th through the 6th check it out. We'Ve got Carmel teaching day 1 and then we have Alex teaching day 2 and 3 scoop that hair in get that blade moving using the side of the blade to keep it nice and soft, Patrick, hey, Pat Lou I'll. Try not to cut myself it's good to see in Chicago buddy. I was good to see you in New York, but I hopefully I'll see Nick now go I'll. Send you the date of when I'm coming into town I becoming its Chicago literally in a couple of weeks I have a class to teach I'll be there with my distributor beauty craft. So we're excited for that. Oh Pauline Wasley, I'm glad you tuned in because Pauline it's official we're gon na do Halloween Happy Mondays. Yes, so Pauline you're gon na be in charge that I'll be in touch with you. It'S Pauline's my helping hand for Happy Mondays. What is their happy one day? It is every year these education on a Monday night in my Academy, the first, usually it's the first Monday pretty much of every month. It does vary, but we call it happy mondays, it's a great way to start the week with her education. In fact, I have a Happy Mondays and is it when, when we're doing it, Charleston Charleston yeah what dates that, on November 12 November 12, complementary education with my dish, distributor the forward Factory, all right, so open stroke notice. As I raise a cup, it's not the wrist that moves. It'S just the tips of the fingers and the reason why I'm starting in this point is really the vantage point is to give her as much volume as possible. So that's why we start right at the the spot that she needs to have that volume. If we over layer it it's gon na get weaker at the bottom, so we don't want it to get weaker at the bottom yeah. We want to still try and retain as much hair as possible so that the hair still feels thick and full. We have a comment from Mike Turpin. He said good morning, Nick I'm finally on the floor at Paul Mitchell school. I'M learning so much from your videos. Even my teacher is noticing my talent. Thank you. So much, oh you're, very welcome. Good luck with you, career buddy, so write the way, and this will be my last section scooping it all the way in I'm gon na rotate to kind of cut out cuz. I scoop in and I rotate to cut out, keep those feet moving so that you're never in a static place. Okay, let's bring over cheddar. I mean sorry breathe come over here Bri. This is a come here. Cheddar come on my truck driving piece of cheese, brave Ringo for your picture of bring over the one pinch. Give me one good shot of what we're kind of gon na do with your hair and then we're gon na get a washed we're gon na use. A special product and you bring the is the renew there at the backwash, bring it over. That'S special. It'S a picture, yeah, okay, so this is Bree she's, a second she's, a second cut. These girls are friends; they don't stop talking merry, sir. I can tell so we're gon na make it a little square. A little square is the idea yeah, so we're gon na keep. Let'S have a look, we're gon na keep kind of that like this length in here, but we're gon na nibble this up. So it's a little square us not like a race above and then will strengthen the bangs till like the eyebrow and kind of pop them out and show off those like greeny eyes, we're going to use this product. This is called Renuka wash. This is gon na. Actually cleanse the hair, it's a non foaming cleanser, give her a really good, rinse and then run. We put that in and put a lot in and work it in and leave it in for two minutes and then rinse it and we'll get back to you. They'Re. Very well behaved so I cut everything inwards this way in and now what I'm going to do, and I can you see Mike, can you see me everything was cut in this way now everything's gon na be cut in this way, so the position changes in and So everything is kind of always keep your head directly in front of what you're doing I'll spin her around giggles I'll spin her right round and then I'll do exactly what we did on the opposite side. So we just finished our big event Expo. It was a big success. We have a three days. Actually the welcoming party was here in Williamsburg Brooklyn. After the welcoming party, we had a day at the Brooklyn Bowl in normal Williamsburg, and that was a really exciting day of education with people like Peter gray, ginger BOC, Fredo sana. Bravo, plenty of great people, as well as alongside my team and then Sunday night. We had a big press launch of our new collection, the images that we showed you in the windows you'll get to see them. It'S called the collective Lauren. Yes, yeah and we've got some great imagery, a new inspiration to share with everybody in the hairdressing community and then on Monday. We got to do hands-on if you've never been to Expo before definitely keep an hour, keep an eye on it for a rest. For the next one, it's a great it's our show. It'S our hairdressing event, it kind of celebrates our celebration of our craft and it's an amazing, inspirational and fun and realistic. You know snapshot of the industry as well, as you know, being able to learn new education. So check it out for next time scooping all the hair in into the center so as to be keep length around the sides in the back and we're gon na fill out her house she's looking for more volume or movement within her head, so really the sweet Spot is to judge you've got a judge, the sweet spot of the hand, because I've got to see what this head does as it dries your sweet spot. I got ta choose the sweet spot yep and what that means is. It means that I don't want to cut the head too sharp and I don't want to leave the hair too long, so I've kind of got to choose the sweet spot. That gives us the volume, while still keeping the length and still looking great flatter, the blade. The flat of the blade means that we're actually putting the blade in horizontal so flat to the hair, not a cross flat to the hair and when we go flat to the hair that creates a more seamless soft layer. Now, if you're, just tuning in we've, kept your hair with a little bit of my product called clean whip and now what we're going to do is we want to move into the front so now we're gon na walk from the back to the front. So this area here is gon na, be the pivot point, so I'm gon na kind of pinwheel these sections around now she does. She has curly texture because she doesn't have a lot of hair yeah. It'S not like a super-dense. She has fine texture. So that's why that sweet spot that I was referring to is trying to judge where the hair really comes out into its own and we'll know more as the hair dries. We'Re only chose love from Texas, Texas whereabouts. In Texas April. We we're gon na Texas. Is it this weekend? I think it's this weekend. Yeah Austin, Texas, American wave certification in Austin Texas, is a sellout sellout event. Austin Texas, American Wave American waves, our texture service American wave, would be a great service for Marisa yeah. Even though Marisa has some curl and movement to a half, she wants to do like curl and texture roll. You know. Oh yes, you Wow well, American wave is actually Marisa yeah, it's actually a service yeah. We use the American Way of shampoo and conditioner on your hair yeah, but American wave is actually well. We put more permanent curl in your hair in the good old days. Your mom would have called it a perm, yes, yeah, it's different product, it's different chemicals and it's called American wave would make your hair fuller. I see a silver hair, I love it yeah I yield. I just got out of a very intense relationship and I had three silver hairs on this guy Wow just 328 years old. How many did he have I'll be in a bunch yeah, the bunch? How do you think yeah? How old was he 3928 239 a that was? That was a lot that was a Halloween. It'S like The Witches of Eastwick. I got a cat colostrum here so now we're gon na work on the opposite side, no keep it on the head because I'm not using the mirror, but the most important thing is to make sure that the head is in the perfect position, because everything when you Cut in long hair like this and I'm gon na move it away from the mirror because she just keeps moving her head and she's a mover and a shaker so get that blade moving a nice open stroke and we can scoop that hair out make sure you Get right in with your comb right in to the cleanest of the section you want to get right into the base. I'M a check. I'M gon na do like what I call like a little touch point I'm gon na check and see how balanced the hair is. You can kind of pull it through and you see then feel the hair work through your fingers and then I'll tell you. That'S pretty good, because I'm doing a you know, I'm doing a razor cup, it's kind of more fluid. It doesn't have to be so super. It needs to be precise, but it needs to also have its own kind of freedom and personality. So when you're working like this definitively allow the hair to talk to you a little bit and let it see what happens and if you was looking at the consultation, you could see that the hair wasn't balanced in the layers. This is an internal layer, so we're internally layering it so that we can get more volume without making it look overly like like an old-fashioned kind of mullet yeah, that's not really what we're going for. Aren'T they nothing. I really am really good. You don't know. Did your boyfriend have a mullet, no no yeah, he had nice hair curly, nice, hair, curly hair and she made sense every broker we doesn't his hair doesn't exist. Is this a recent breakup, uh yeah? This is a family. Show young lady, hello, Michael. Is that what they might go straight? Look like Michael. He said. Ah snap, she's single, I'm 42. What'S beauty, I'm right hand! That'S what lets you. What does that mean? Let'S go my god. It'S a family show Gucci. I think she still loves her ex. Oh now, there's gon na be a whole thing. Online yeah it's happening. What'S get cheap, I'm using a little yeah, it's still Gucci, okay, or else I'm gon na give you bangs. Don'T you dare all right? Well, you shouldn't trying to get rid of them. Wwe all right so now it's time to either. Do you want your hair to come out? Good? No, okay? Yes, so there's no blend, so I need to get through the blend so right now. What I'm doing is I'm looking through the hand using the tip of the blade and then right in here we're gon na try and blend that just a little so really comb their hair flat and tight, hold it nice and tight and comb it flat. So you can get the angle and then we're going to lift that hair up and just tip into it. Next section keep your sections nice and thick, because you want enough density in the section that you get what I like to call feedback. So I can feel every stroke of the blade, as I place it in to the hair, to make sure that we're just getting a really fluid seamless line, it's a little bit like sculpture, but it's also like architecture, because it's elevation / direction. I am following lines, but the sculpture piece is because I'm using a tool that doesn't just change the ends actually integrates the the hair on the inside. So section two section: three: I'm gon na keep these sections really dense, say: look how that's a super wide section, and now I'm gon na elevate and I'm looking through the hair again just a little bit in here and then just the tip to soften now. Once you make the hair a little softer with the tip, it actually puts some sharpness on the inside. Putting some shortness on the inside is gon na expand as the hair dries, because shorter hair will expand a little bit more because he won't drop because it's shorter and that's gon na give us some of that volume that she's looking for and then she can go Out on a date with Mikey boy, she's saying nothing, keep it Gucci now she's got curl to her hair, so you can see what's happening. You want to play with that. So we did one side now we'll spin around and I'll come round here. Okay, little bit of hydro mist is a great product for not making their hair. So damn it. That'S a great price, also great products for her. She wants to refresh her hair in the mine. Let'S just say she doesn't want to wash. It doesn't need to be washed every day she wants to refresh it a little hydro. Mist is a great tool to refresh, but really for me, it's a great tool, it's a great product to use so that I can you don't want to let the razor go through hair like this dry. So what this does is just adds a little slip. A little moisture adds a little softness so that then I can kind of be very fluid, with my blade and close to finish in the cup and then we're gon na have mr. Rome and dry it and I'll. Give you the lesson of how I want it. I'Ll show you what we're going to use we'll put the products in what's right, make sure she doesn't talk, speak yeah. You know, let's start to Roman okay, Roman, his the guy with the tattoos you're upset you're, just not talking bank bank thanks Roman section this round. You got a taste of your own medicine, he did. He talked, he talked too much. I can't wait. I can't I can't wait for you to go to Aveda. I can't wait to get we're gon na hear yeah we're so close, okay, yeah exactly they can't wait. They can't wait to get you well, it's good to have a great personality in our industry. I think it's really important for you to learn how to communicate control. You don't want it. You'Ve got to kind of be serious but light at the same time, yeah, especially when you dealin with your clients yeah, because at the end of the day, it's not just the cut that they're coming for it's the experience and you have to make sure the experience Is a great experience? You know you got ta learn how to not talk over somebody when the talking okay and I don't play I've got a razor in my hand. We have any questions from our audience. Laura didn't get a word in Michael's, asking when you're gon na come to Santa Monica, give it up. I think, no, you guys never Nick, it's not all about. You know. You think it is Santa Monica in January I'll, be there in January, sounds Monica and we're gon na come and do a shoot there and we're gon na go to the show. The big trade show and we're gon na have fun. So right now we're getting close to the end so now and you'll notice the texture I'm allowing that to dry and I'm coming and just adding a little bit more as they come through, I'm looking through the hair. So I'm looking to see what the balance looks like I see what this is getting, that lift was she which she wants, not gon na cut bangs it she was distinctly. She didn't want to have bangs. This is a nice way to cut to just channel in so what I've actually done there, because I cut channels, if you can see them, got some channels in, and that gives still gives you the length. But it gives again a little bit more of a defined shot piece, because if the pieces are a little bit chunkier a little thicker and fuller than that, it's excellent. I notice I'm elevating the hair, so I can see through it. I was gon na be able to look through if you hold the head down, you can't see through it and you can see through and see how we've allowed this hair to it's still damp, but it's definitely getting drier. Annette Massey says loving. The look Nick did you not go live for your haircut this time I did not go live for mine. I didn't have time my hair got super long, because I've been so busy, I'm probably the busiest year I've ever had workwise. Just you know, running three businesses is takes a lot of work. Lauren knows that she's ne all the time, although she was away for a week last week, you know just hangin, we didn't miss, you good has trip through and then I had to go. I think she does. I think she can do both yeah. You know he was. I had the most read books in the class three books we weren't really works was a rebook like where they're, like, oh she's, I mean you think, come on you're gon na get me to talk she's great yeah, yeah. Well right now you are, I know, but it's morning time well its morning time every day it's morning, that's school time. Well, Farah says: can you a stick? My question Farah. I don't see a question from you. So can you retype it and then I'll ask him? Please now picked up the scissor and I'm just gon na have a little kind of look through the hair, with a scissor just to just seal some of those ends cold in New York today, the weather's finally warm weather finally left the town. So you see the angle of the hair as it moves upwards in a way, so we've worked it to keep the length and now I've changed the white teeth of the comb. So the white teeth of my white comb enables me to put a little bit less tension on the hair. I think it's pretty good. So now, let's get it prepped and I'll show you how to prep it now you're not allowed to touch it. Okay, you know. I like to turn it and then, when you go off there is wrong when you need to zip it's hard time, not your time. You'Ve addressed oaken yeah, you can sit and reflect so now. What we're going to do is going to take a product I'll waive miss this products, a phenomenal program ember, we prep the hair already we already prepped the hair with with cream wig. So now we're gon na put this beach wave mist and I'm gon na douse. It - and this is gon na - give it a little bit more hold control, but I'm gon na set it so I'm gon na do a wet set and I feel, like I know, what's happened to the hair. I feel good about what we got. Did that question that would come in Lauren? She just said there are such short layers in comparison to the way. Yes, and the reason is, is a picture that she shown me was kind of like seventies. Pinup was heavily layered in a very heavy shirt. So whenever you say that whenever I hear the word shag, it means lots of movement and looseness she's asking how do you blend it? You blend it by yet you're doing like this kind of a shape, because, if you think about this F, if we plugged her into the socket - and we made you in a second all the house about 90 degrees from the head - she liked it. What we've done is we've cut it like this, so that the length falls longer and the internal shorter said sure too long, and that's how you blend it and we cut it inside out inside out inside out inside out. If you could, outside in you'd, cut the outsides off, so that's why we put it inside down now what we're gon na do Remy come here, help some sections you'll see you see me if you watch the show Brooklyn live you'll see me. Do this a lot so why teeth the comb I'm just gon na lightly that was so lightly, just try and walk in a little bit of curl texture, yeah, and the reason why we do that is because it diminishes the frizz. So we do like our little wet set and I do it like a little zigzag section and I comb it with the white teeth of the comb. Yes, she has fine hair, so it's prone to lightly tangle. It'S always the kind of had I've had like that. Myself so so used to all my hair was long that used together a little thick knot in the back way. Three. It was long like yours. I'Ve had my hair long like yours when I was younger yeah, and these are like big one-inch sections and I'm not heavily twisting I'm just kind of encouraging. What'S already there and the wave mist is gon na dial up the texture. So it's gon na enhance the texture. There is asking: when do you recommend diffusing versus? What'S it like you're doing? Oh we're gon na defuse it Roma's gon na defuse it he's gon na use. My my-y spark soft diffuser, which we'll show you they're available at a rosio pro no promo this week. But if you are looking for tools, you can always check out a rosio pro dot-com. That'S our professional site! All of the tools that we curate brushes scissors razors Clips, combs everything that we curate, that we give to our students when they join the school we sell them and if you're interested we'll be in Birmingham Alabama this week this weekend, we're doing the premiere show. It'S our last, it's our last professional trade show of the year, although we do have a shell in London next next week, which is called the in DVD Expo, so we're gon na be in London next week as well. But this weekend, Birmingham Alabama mama for the premiere she'll will take in our booth will be present and elevate hair to and my stylists Michelle is gon na, be on the on the stage and I'll be doing mainstage in classrooms this weekend in Birmingham it's been a Couple of years, since we went to Birmingham so should be fun. Taylor Jameson said heard you had ginger boil there last weekend told her to tell you hello. Oh yes, she did and we do have gin. Gin CH did a great job and she brought a great stylist with her, and when we did a great show it was fantastic all right now, don't one side, let me come around with you. The other fair is asking where you'd be in Florida anytime soon. If so at City, that's a great question: I'm gon na be in Florida twice in the next three weeks. Wave miss please I'm gon na be in Wellington, for my dear friends on Monticello salons visions and I'm gon na be in Wellington. It'S a suburb of Palm Beach, he's celebrating 30 years of being in business, so I'm gon na go and celebrate with him he's doing a fundraiser for charity I'll be exciting, and then I will be also in Fort Myers. I in Fort Myers I'll be there and that is to teach a class to create salon, which is another ambassador of ero, Joe they've, carry a Rochelle product and I'll be there at Fort Myers. And then I'm also gon na go back to Palm Beach. Because my friend Tracy has just opened a salon, actually she just reached, she just opened a new location and that's gon na be on December, the fifth so yeah a lot of Florida and we have a home in Florida. I get to see my home. She was quite Romy, she was quiet, don't let her distract you yeah. She couldn't keep quiet for long. What was that hot head of he'll you've been quiet for longer. You wan na play a game. Let'S see it could be quiet and who want the thief yeah. He left, he left the house. He said I'm out, I'm out. I'M gon na go shopping in China. What was his name? Yeah Eugene? Does he tell you? That'S it so you've got Porto Rican, it's our lord and polish Enya. You are the trifecta of New York. What was she doing in San Francisco? Anyway? Oh you went for the guy. What are you girls, you're just boson around looking forget, you know staying sentiment, stayin Santa Monica micro. You can live with palm trees. I'Ve got news for you, there's no palm trees in San Francisco love there, what you did yeah and I think okay, but it was cold and the and everyone just no more, no more, no more okay. Then they don't look at this actually you're, putting a sock in shed right. I'M gon na show you how to dry it too. I'M going to hold that I'm gon na take this off all right now mode, you here's the technique for everybody yeah, and for you too, if you want anyone to be quiet, all you need to do is put that there. I'M sorry watch this watch this when your heads down like that, you can't talk. Thank you! So it's my subunit and we're going to dry the roots first and you're gon na paint around, so that you can feel how much heat I'm gon na take her away and he's gon na try it in Soho. So we're just gon na work through rotate. All right, Robert, what we're gon na do is, I felt like my nozzle fell off. So let me just take that I'm gon na keep it on, because when you work with this wire spark diffuser which we sell, you can keep your nozzle on and they're an excellent diffuser all right. Let me take her over to that chain over there. Let it touch it yeah and just dry, it all right and then come on over the hanger lady said I will do a quick razor Bob power through wouldn't a lot quicker, but she chats Allah all right. Let'S do it. You ready yeah, okay, so I'm just gon na run through this pretty quick Lara. You talked to me: if there's any questions, she's got a lot of hair and she's got a. She has a car on the street, but we need to make sure we're gon na make sure she's down by 11:30. So, let's power through it straight down the center bat look for the center back of his spine. She has a lot of head. I'M gon na dampen the hair down, but my hydro mist, I'm gon na work side to side we're gon na keep a pre-existing lens through the front. We'Re gon na skinny the hair up a little. The hair is cleanse using our Renu car wash, which is a non foaming, cleanser and now just a little hydro mist and let's get right in keep your sections, nice and clean film, the hair, nice and tight, and then I'm just gon na get right in there. With my blade, I'm gon na use the same razor for this haircut. I don't think we've build the blade too much. I think the blade should be okay. If not, I have another razor and it's standing by if need be, see what happens Lauren. They forget. Don'T me, everyone always forgets so right. The way through just clean that up next section, you're just going to work with your classic bub sections practice, really good combing, I'm gon na using more the edge of the blade. When I talk about the edge of the blade you've seen me work with a with the flat of the blade, the edge of the blade is going to create more of a cleaner line. So, initially we're going to work with the edge of the blade to create more of a cleaner line through the haircut and on one side you start from the back of the blade and the other side. You start on the tip while the front in here I just want to get it perfect. What was your favorite bit about explode on my favorite? I really like. Obviously they run my show, but I really enjoy listening to the business symposium. I think that was really cool and you, like the you, would listen to the last year's one yeah yeah and you like this year's one too yeah they're, both really good a lot of insight. When I loved the ending. Oh, you did yeah yeah excellent yeah. We like to mix business with from the owners we like to mix a bit of business and we think it's important to kind of share our stories. I run three salons here in New York City, so it's very challenging yeah running the hair salons. I have probably about 60 stylists now and then we have about 30 in training constant. Then we're always looking its, how I build my business and it we're always looking for hairdressers and we're looking for teachers right now. So if anyone is interested in working with Arosa, they can always send me a direct message. I will meet with them and let them know how the process would what the process could be in woodby we're always looking for staff. Yes, I use the wide tooth to comb to comb the hair from side to side that just enables the hair to sit in a little bit better. So the flat of the blade I rotated the blade around a little to get to the flat, because that's what's that, we've got the line in now. I want to cut a little bit of texture into the hair and again I think yours, I'll, introduce scissor and to this out also there'll, be some scissor work later. She does want to grow our hair, but really what she wants to do before she grows. It is square the hair up their hairstyle up a little so that it's got a nicer. I think the punchiest shape it'll be better for the features of her face so now, as I'm starting to move up kind of as the head starts to walk away as we've moved over the occipital bone. I'M gon na angle my section slightly differently and you can see that I'm working with the flag, the blade in here and then locking it down. You got the angle, really practice great combing as you work side to side. So there's a slight change in the angle. There'S a little elevation, also and there's a little bit of flatness and the razor cutting, and that when I, when I open the blade, oh, when you see the blade move a little bit more, it means that we're actually putting in a little bit more texture by Eliminating a little bit of the thickness, hey Carolyn, thanks for coming out to see us this past weekend, Haley see you again on our journey, I'm sure they're not too distant future. So working all the way up, keep your sections, nice and clean! You can see now how the section has changed and you can see if we're taking this out slight over direction back to retain the length towards the front. What'S 44 does that stay or something so I'm rotating their hair around a little as I'm collapse in there into the back, buying tees off the comb and just collapsing that hair right, and this would be my last section before I come into the sides he says I come this back nice and clean look for the section slight over direction' back, and this is gon na square the hair up a little. Let'S run right the way into this side. I know we're gon na need a little bit of moisture. So let me come through with a little bit of hydro mist. So now, let's take this section right, the way through and head in the perfect position, just like that. Take a little bit skinnier to establish your first section, you'll see: oh she's got some shot stuff under there, too, pre-existing. Let'S just work this in next section. This is an erosion rate Johnny, but unfortunately only one when I work with my company jet I, who are the distributor for the feather brand here in America. They made me this ivory razor as a sample, as I've got quite a few different styles as we're always trying out different styles of razors for for production, so it may end up making the marketplace. If you want something a bit unique, we do have our handcrafted wood, razors they're, pretty special. You can see them all in a row, Joe Pro comm. We have eight different. Styles are seven different styles of wood and they're. All kind of you know one-off boutique styles. We make 50 of each one so and then we get different words. We'Re beechwood, rosewood sandalwood would, if I could Louis afraid. Oh yes, if Reta was on stage with us and expert this past weekend, he did some of his artwork some of his design work using a clipper or a small refined trimmer. Then he used these graphics pens to color it in and then on Monday. He was with my students teaching all of my students in my cosmo school, where he did a barbering presentation for my students. She was excited so open, strut. Look how open the stroke is now open stroke, keeping the hair over their head seat back seat gets longer towards the front and you'll see we've lifted up the back. She does have that little bit of sharpness, but that would be two shots. Credit too. She wants to kind of grow that out now she does have a lot of hair, which is good, but you can see right now that we've managed to get that angle right. It'S better yeah. So let's do this side I'll. Take my little hydro mist again put the moisture in nice thing. Is it's such a fine mist, but it doesn't saturate because I don't want it to be saturated. I want to see the texture of the hair, so it enables me to see the texture of the hair as I go. Take that clip again keep it nice and clean, establish you guideline, they forgot to say: ramen gremlins forgot not to get us started. This is what we do hello. So that's a tiny one today low just working on the opposite side, working right, the way through and then we're gon na go through and just get the bangs cut in and then we're gon na power dry and then we're gon na have both of our young. Ladies at the red wall, so you can see how they look it's cold in New York today, but the sun is shining yeah, doesn't think you when you try to what do you use like a curling iron or something uh-huh? Well, a bombs, not gon na work. You need more of a hold product, a bombs gon na be small supple. So then we have a product called structure which is a lightweight curl enhancer and it's a it's like a cream gel I'll give you some support that will hold also our spray primp. You can spritz in and once you spritz that in that holds the shape right in I'll hold the curling come to the front, have a look and see you know it's always better to work with a mirror when you're in the salon work with a mirror. So you can see what's happening, fine teeth of the comb to cut white. Seize the combs take the section with the fine teeth of the comb to cut. If you over there at the hair back, the hair gets longer towards the front using that over direction. Now we're going to spin around and we'll have a lot see how she's good it's the next time to look at the bangs, so the bangs are really not a strong shape. You'Ll see if I just comb this head down, the hair is almost dry and she'll. Just have super straight hair that really we need to make them a little squarer and lens wise. You want to kind of be like here, yeah like when it's shorter here and then it shapes like that. That'S, like my favorite, interpret what she just said. Okay, thank you we're ready now. So, let's get the section in so I'm gon na take a triangular section and you're not gon na take in the temple hair. This is the section triangle. The first thing is establishing the right section. You want to make it even so that it's balanced I've never couldn't before. So you know you got to kind of be strong enough to know what to do and there's the section you can have a lot. It'S not section nice and clean. So there's the section. That'S pretty good and balanced, so we're gon na kill it we're gon na nibble it shorter in the center and we're gon na. Let it kind of work out a little bit longer towards the sides. So now what will then do is going to take a section down the center. I'M gon na pick up the fresh blade super fresh blade, so I've got precision here and I've got to keep the hair down like section one, that's great short little tapping on the fingers, so whatever you've caught, can you see that is whatever you've got left? You can use your clip just to keep it out of the way next section. These sections are straight, the next section across them they're straight down fine teeth of the comb, so that is the drive-through roaming head. You drive out of me right. Okay turn up the heat it's getting hot in there Rowman and you get me a water. Please thank you. My hate turns on for the first time, so I stayed on one side and it's be my last section: learning jadi, there's one side, she's been missing. Her bangs mm-hmm, that's did the opposite side Todd. You missed a really good Expo. Oh you just asked: how was the Expo? It'S phenomenal. She came tired to come tardy really. Is she driving yeah? Bring me a dryer over here? Please nope, okay, no! Not yet I'll get you in a minute, don't worry! I know where you are you'll plug that dryer in round one. Please look at that. Dryer in you can take the diffuser off too. So I work from the inside out out to the length now it's time for me to pick up my scissors pick up my scissors and I'm just gon na nibble refine time said. I gave my notice Friday when my boss wouldn't give me the time off. So if anyone here is a salon owner in Ontario I'm available, but you must carry a brochure product, that's right. He knows what he's doing I'm gon na blast ahead right. So we just have a little hydro mist and we cleansed it with our renew co-wash, which is a non foaming, cleanser mm-hmm and I'm gon na pick it up with a scissor pick it up. This is that, just through the center, I'm just gon na chip in morning guys welcome back Lucy was on vacay or something where'd. You go wedding all the way up, and now we can blast it dry. So, let's blast it dry and have a lot. I'M pretty confident that it has finished like why well because of the texture, that's why that makes a really use a brush put in. I will be putting a bit more product in later, just enhance it, but Khepri came home because if I want to cut a little bit more, I've got the cape on my god. You cut your okay Mel time last week to get a cup got with us. Some other great signature, I'm trying to dry down at the same time so much better. You like it. Yes, good, okay! So now we'll pick up our scissors, we just have a little little check. Todd. Dowell says I do want to thank you. Nick the Brooklyn lab education you provide is not only education, it's inspirational every week I find myself trying a new technique and my clients are noticing that I'm stepping my game up. That'S awesome. Keep it up Todd it's time, we'll get your Expo yeah, hopefully next year, we'll get into Canada and see yeah, you could check this when the hair is dry, but sometimes you find just a little bit that adds and now it's time for it to just put A little bit of driving, I'm gon na put our refinishing there, which is a dry shampoo. It'S not takes to spray because it hey Marissa yeah, become very good. Now nice thing that is texture spray to dry shampoo, but it's also a texturizer, is a bit more thickness. Jamie Covington says love refinish. These days before yesterday said I get Hayley. Covington says: love refinish these days they sold for yesterday, awesome yeah, great promise. $ 29. Add there's a little she's back, I'm back baby. Now you can that's a little. That'S a tweak. It looks good yeah, that's great! Let'S come over here, yeah all right head down for me. Roadster do the same thing here, we're in good shape for you and you can't sir yeah got ta go to the red wall. First, let's not finish so. If you want to kind of put more volume in now, we've set the hair texture in bring out the Beast, bring out the doggy dog. That'S what the W dawt side to shake it right out, come down here Lauren, so you could get these layers yeah. So she's still going all the length, but now she's got some volume right. The way through it's gon na get bigger and bigger as the day goes on. She said right now, it's time for us to go to our red wall and get the final shots. I'M gon na go right here, so we have a razor buggy bangs and then we have. What do we call you sexy, shaggy cool. Is that right? Yes, that's good. Yeah feel good. Five hundred people now see you Roman. You want to say goodbye, bye, everybody! Don'T forget tuning? Oh, what's Lauren wearing that's her outfit today. What is this today? It'S like a white top olive green. All right! Well, we're gon na get ready for the day. I have a happy day thanks for tuning in see you next time.
