I have struggled with my hair for my entire life. My hair has always been super. Fine, fine hair means that the diameter of each individual strand is skinny. I not only have fine hair, but i've also had issues with thinning hair. Thin hair refers to the density or how many strands of hair are present on each square. Inch of scalp combine fine with thin, and you get hair that doesn't have any weight, looks hollow in the baseline and struggles to get volume. My hair has gone through tremendous changes in the last year. Now i did get a hair transplant about a year and a half ago, and i talk all about my hair transplant journey in a series of videos that i did if you're interested in that. I will leave that in the comment section below. But there are a lot of women and a lot of men who get hair transplants and they don't end up with the same results that i do. Their hair doesn't look as great at the end of it all like mine has. My hair has completely changed so today i want to teach you a few of the tips and tricks things that i've implemented into my life to get me from there to here today. I'Ve collaborated with some of the amazing people at lily silk, to talk to you and show you guys some of their products. Now i can genuinely tell you that this company is awe some, i never partner with a company that i don't truly like truly believe in and have tested and tried out their products for a while. Lilly, silk is one of those companies that i was pretty stoked to partner with because they have worked with so many different celebrities, so they have worked with gwyneth paltrow drew barrymore made a post about them. Even meghan trainor has talked about them and i can definitely see why, because their products are really really awesome. The first thing that you definitely want to do is implement a silk pillowcase into your sleeping routine. You'Re, probably wondering do silk pillowcases really make a difference. The answer is yes, and especially, if you have my type of hair, so my hair is not only thin and fine. It'S also very curly and very very frizzy. Two things happen when i sleep on a cotton pillowcase. The first thing is that i notice that i get a lot of breakage, because my hair is so fine and also so curly that, if it's rubbing up on a pillow rubbing up on a fabric that doesn't have any slide, my hair tends to shift. And it really breaks easily, since the texture of it is so so fine and fragile something else that happens. A lot when i sleep on a cotton pillowcase is that my blowout or my style gets completely ruined. I do not have the type of hair, and maybe you don't either where you can go to sleep and you wake up, and it looks amazing people with fine or thin hair. They tend to feel like they need to wash their hair every day, because when they go to sleep, they wake up and it's totally deflated or the curls have been crushed or there's no like movement or body in it at all anymore see. This is what was happening to me before i discovered silk pillowcases. When you sleep on this type of pillowcase, it preserves your style, you wake up, and your hair still looks amazing. And if you don't believe me honestly, try it yourself and let me know in the comments section if it made a difference for you, because it has been night and day difference for me. If you are the type of person that doesn't enjoy sleeping on a silk pillowcase or you don't want a silk pillowcase, you can also get a sleep cap now. This is so nostalgic for me because i am brazilian and my mom also has very textured curly hair. She would use a silk cap every single night, either to preserve her curls, like her natural, beautiful texture or to preserve her blowout. If she went to the salon and got it blown out or even if she blew it out at home herself, she would always wrap her hair in a cap and go to sleep with it that way, and then, when she woke up, it was still like soft And bouncy and beautiful - and it's so nostalgic for me, because i remember her doing that every single day when i was a little girl so when i saw these sleep caps by lily silk, i thought oh, my gosh. This has really been something that women of all generations you know with curlier hair or even with just finer hair have done so. I love that because i love this brand so much. I also want to mention that there's a whole fashion line by lily silk. They have a wide range of blouses pajamas bedding sets, dresses everything and the prices are affordable. Considering that not all silk is equal and they use a hundred percent natural premium materials like mulberry silk. They are also committed to zero waste production and are very environmentally conscious. Overall, it's a win-win for me. I couldn't say enough good things about it. Definitely a double thumbs up for someone of my age working in the industry that i work in, i feel like it is not only breathable material, but it's really fashionable and makes you look very chic and mature. So i just love it. I think it's amazing. So go check it out. The next thing that is going to change your life, if you have very fine hair, is styling it properly. I'M going to show you guys how i went from this in the morning to this right now, just by styling and using the right products. The first step always starts with the shampoo and how you're doing that you want to use a shampoo and conditioner range. That is specifically tailored towards volume, using a shampoo for dry, damaged, hair or a moisture shampoo range when your hair is thinner. Fine will absolutely weigh your hair down. You just don't need the same amount of control that someone with coarse or thick hair needs. When you are shampooing, make sure that you are focusing on the scalp and massaging that shampoo right in, if you don't get a lot of lather, the first time is because the shampoo is working on removing the oils in your scalp and on the product build up. Doing a second shampoo will really ensure that your hair is properly cleansed and will not be weighed down. When you are conditioning again, you want to choose a conditioner specifically tailored for volume. You want to avoid conditioning the scalp and just focus that conditioner on the mid shafts and ends rinse thoroughly, so that your hair has no weight before blow drying before styling. You also want to use a product specifically tailored for volume like kms, add power or kms. Add volume one tip here is to not overdo it. Volume products are really important, but if you use too much on fine hair, you could end up with a weighed down effect as well after you comb it through roots to ends move on to the next step. Now this next step is going to be a little bit controversial for some of you guys out there, and i already know - and i'm anticipating - that there is going to be some negative comments about this. But i am going to tell you without a shadow of a doubt, that if you have fine hair, the only way to get it to look really full and beautiful is to blow it out. There is so much stuff online about preventing heat damage and i get it. I definitely do get it and you do want to be careful so that you don't put too much heat into your fine hair and eventually break it. But i have fine hair. If i don't blow it out, it's not going to look as beautiful and as full as if i blow it out. Really fine hair needs to be infused with a volume right from the wet stage, and that is why it's important to use something like a sleep cap or a silk pillowcase to preserve your style. So you don't have to do all of these steps. Four times a week or five times a week, you only really have to do it about two times a week max three times a week, because you're doing that, it's looking amazing and then you're, preserving it overnight. By not having it. You know get roughed up in a cotton pillowcase blowing your hair out is also going to ensure that the cuticle layers are smoothed down which results in a glossier, shinier and smoother. End result. When you have glossy shiny, smooth hair, it tricks the eye into thinking that that hair is actually much thicker than it is. You can do this with a round brush. I made a video about that round, brush and a blow dryer or you can use a blow out brush, which is my personal favorite thing to do. There are small barrel ones by babyliss pro there are larger barrel ones by revlon or by dry bar. This one is one that i purchased on wish for super cheap, but it also works great now you can stop here, but if you have thin hair where the scalp is actually showing through the hair, i have a mind blowing tip for you. That is going to be life-changing. So, even though i did get a hair transplant, i still have thinning in the areas where my hair was transplanted and that's just because it was a very large, bald area, and sometimes you need to do like two plus transplants to really completely fill the area. In so when i'm wearing my hair half up, you can still see that it's quite fine in that area, but there is a trick to fix that. I recently discovered a really awesome brand called me cosmetics, which is a clean beauty, dermatologist tested, scalp foundation. I will not go to a client's house for event styling without this product line anymore 50 of women experience, hair loss at some point in their life, and this product will hide it like completely hide it. In about 10 seconds, this scalp foundation line comes in every hair color, including white, which is something that has been massively missed in the market. This is lightweight it's buildable coverage and it has tremendous staying power. I have used this on a lot of brides and a lot of mother of the brides, and i have never ever had a transfer. I also use it on myself regularly, especially when i'm wearing my hair in a ponytail or a bun or anything. If my hair is up, i am wearing this and again i have never had it transfer. I have tried doing other things like using eyeshadow. I did a whole tutorial on that. That'S a really good, economical option. You know because you already have eye shadow hanging around, but it will transfer and it's not going to stay as well. You know if you're hot, if it's summer, if it's humid, all of those elements, are working against you and eyeshadow's not going to stay like this. Scalp foundation is going to stay. I know a lot of you have also felt concerned that if you fill your scalp in with powder, it could result in clogged pores and more hair loss, but this is actually infused with 10 active hair and skin loving ingredients. It'S a win-win. It'S so freaking cool. Thank you guys so much for watching. If you have any questions about your fine or your thin hair leave it in the comment section below i try to answer as many comments and questions as i possibly can i'll catch you in the next one. Bye

Leigh Fiorentino: Finally someone who understands fine hair. Everyone says don't blow-dry your hair. Unless I want to look dreadful there really is no other option for me. X

Jean Herrman: Hi Gabi. I just discovered your channel and I have always had fine thin hair. As I have gotten older I am now 57 it transformed from straight to frizzy wavy to now pretty curly with mixed wave patterns. I had embraced the curly method and my hair is so much healthier without heat styling. With heat and all the appropriate products I could never get a smooth style anymore especially with humidity. Even a salon styling would last a few hours at best. My hair is just too fine and porous. I also have stopped coloring my hair so I’m 60 % grey and the grey has even changed the texture more and constant coloring was damaging my fragile hair even more. Anyway.. my question to you is can you provide styling tips for reduced/no heat methods for thin fine wavy hair. I see that you choose not to go that way yourself but there doesn’t seem to be much info on the wavy curly side for very fine thin hair. Most curly methods involve too much heavy product that just weighs hair like mine down. Thank you for considering this request and thank you for your helpful content.

Terence Healy: Hi Gabi, I have fine straight hair, it's really never been a problem for me, I've had great haircuts and highlights etc, and it always looked pretty. But I'm now 61 and of course my hair over the last couple of years has thinned and I've noticed alot more hair comes out when I brush or wash my hair. So I thought I would try t a beach wave perm, it been 30 plus years since I did a perm. Well anyway, it was a poor choice, it did give me a bit more fullness, but definitely dryed my hair, I've sine gotten two deep conditioning treatments at the salon, this helped the brittle dryness,, but my hair just looks blah....I' ve also had a root touch up, help to cover the grays. I was thinking to just get a great cut, and get my hair relatively healthy again and get some movement back. I could only wear my hair up with clips at this time, my hair looks lifeless if I should wear it loose. I want feel extra pretty again, I'm a young active 61 year old, I miss having a great contemporary hair look. Thank goodness I'm a nice looking woman, and wear some makeup, so it diffuses this awful clipped up hair look. I don't mind wearing it up a d having a little fun with clips, but not everyday, & truthfully the older you get, wearing it up I think, can make you look a bit older, especially with fine type hair. Any suggestion, advice would be wonderful.. God bless, Thank you Elaine

janet reyes: Hi Gaby! Love your tricks for dealing w fine hair. My biggest thing I not over relying on dry shampoo. For me, I was using it too much it was actually clogging my follicles causing hair loss. Moderation is definitely key for me. The Nioxin line has been great for priming my scalp for healthy growth by removing build up. Thanks for all your advice!

Brittany K: One thing I'm surprised not mentioned by Gabi is the volume effects of dry shampoo! I'm always using it and it also hides the greasy look that's so easy to get with thin hair. Thanks so much Gabi I've been loving your videos!

Cindy Cece: Thanks Gabi, for the tips . Will bear it in mind. Will look for the products as well. I have thinning hair issues as well. Will watch your other tutorials as well. Thanks once again.

Tina Couling: Thank you Gabi, I had brain surgery to remove my grade 3 brain tumor and my hair has grown back but very fine and thin. You can see bold patch. So I will be getting the silk cap for sure. Xxx

anit nono: Gabi, You saved me! I was so unhappy with my hair but now I kinda like it. Thanks to You! All the tips You recommed for fine hair worked for me.

Zenyatta: Thanks for sharing these tips, definitely going to check out the scalp foundation. I've used inexpensive powders for years but have always felt they created build-up which wasn't healthy, anything that dermatologists consider worthwhile is definitely worth a try! Also going to check out your series on the hair transplant. I have fine hair, but a ton of it from the ears back, but its super sparse on the sides and at the temples. Your transplant looks amazing! Thanks for the great content!

Annalisa Nunez: I'm so glad I found you. I have fine hair and now it's thinning and I'm freaking out. Definitely getting a silk pillow case, volumizing products, and I'm going to take the plunge and cut my long hair. I've had shorter cuts a lot of times but it's hard to cut it after growing out. Thank you for these videos. You are so beautiful and make me feel like I can still be beautiful with a shorter cut. Also thank you for advocating for blow drying! I absolutely have to blow dry unless I want to look like a wet dog! Thank you!!!

Mind Blowing: I just want to remind women that it is not a flaw to have fine hair. If fine hair is healthy it has actually the best silky quality out there. My hairstylist once told me that fine hair most of the times can handle more styling and even bleaching than thick or curly hair, because of its elasticity. If you struggle with hair loss it has nothing to do with your hair type. Embrace your beauty there is no disadvantage about fine hair.

Fine Natural Hair ROCKS: These are such great tips that also translate really well to fine natural hair! I especially love the fact that you mentioned the scalp foundations which I've never heard of before. Thank you so much for making this awesome video!

Christine Madrazo: Gabi, I appreciate your channel. I had an FUT hair transplant three months ago. Your videos helped me make this difficult but successful decision. Thank you.

Atzi: Hi Gabi. Just discovered your channel. Have watched every video and just love your content. I am 56 and colour my hair. I have shoulder length frizzy, wavy thin hair that has breakage. In winter I blow dry my hair but I think this is causing breakage and is still frizzy when I blow dry In summer because of humidity my hair gets so frizzy that I have to wear wavy. Not sure if I should be using a shampoo for volume, frizziness or a repairing shampoo for my breakage. Can you recommend a product for all that does not weigh my hair down? Many thanks.

Derrick Jennifer Watkins: Gabi I've been following you since before the hair transplant days and I'm so happy to see your channel growing! Your hair is looking so beautiful, love the color! I bought the new Revlan One step Plus and I love to use it from n time to time for a beautiful blowout that I just couldn't do on myself with a round brush and blow dryer ( hip length hair here). Thanks for all the tips and tricks.

singularity: NEED this as a girl with trichotillomania, thank you

Tracy M: I’m a licensed hairstylist and can relate to you because my hair is very fine and straight.. nothing wrong with blow drying.. it’s the technique you use and the thermal protectant that is important. One recently purchased a sold pillowcase, I’ll look at the cap but am afraid it would end up n the bed by morning

lubbylubby: Tips to prevent hair loss: - don’t use brush, use wide-tooth comb - don’t brush or comb hair whilst wet, hair is at its weakest when wet and it will break - don’t use towel to dry wet hair, use soft cotton t-shirt - don’t pull hair into tight ponytail, it may cause permanent hair loss, a condition called traction alopecia - avoid dyeing and heat styling hair to keep damage to a minimum, I understand heat styling may be unavoidable if you want to volumise your hair - wear a hat to prevent UV sun damage or limit sun exposure These tips and more can be found in Dr Dray’s videos on YouTube

Aswa Naeem Warraich: Oh my goodness Just wow ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I am so proud of you for making an incredibly amazing hair transplant transformation, I just followed you today after like several months and I am awe of how strong you have made it Yaaaaayyy ❤️

Susan Yakus: Silk pillowcases are amazing! Yes, I have to hand wash it, but it holds the hair so well. I had my hair start into male pattern baldness, due to hormone pellets and wrong dosage. I have corrected that, but it takes a long time to re-grow hair. I found Joan Rivers hair powder and it has been amazing. It doesn't budge and it doesn't transfer. Truly a game changer. Thanks for talking about this sensitive subject.

Valerie Banfield: I always use a silk pillowcase on my pillow. It makes a world of difference to your hair. I discovered your videos when I was looking for some on hair care. I really enjoy watching them. Keep them coming. Valerie from Canada.

Milena Garcia: Thanks for your information. Finally someone with those tricks for my fine hair. Really helpful.

Sissy OG Creations: So glad I happened upon this! Quick question... any tips on wearing fine, thinning, shoulder-length hair up for eyeglass wearers? I'm trying to stop wearing ponytails because my thinning is really bad in the crown and I get a lot of breakage there. I work from home and like to wear my hair up at work to keep it out of my face . Headbands and eyeglasses are not the best combo for me and my hair is so fine that unless I twist my hair, the little claw clips won't hold. Any suggestions would be beyond appreciated!

Cassi Pathak: You easily have the best hair channel on youtube. I love that you address common problems people face-not just glam styles.

AmericanGirl: Yaaas, silk pillow cases are a must. I have about 10 of them and will not travel without them either. Very fine and naturally wavy, frizzy hair here too.

Ma S: Excellent video--thanks, Gabi! I will def forward it to some friends who are experiencing hair loss! But, here's my question: what do you do if you have fine, THICK hair??? In other words, if you have a LOT of hair that does NOTHING!

Indira Perez Alvarez: Hi Gabi, can you do a video for longer hair? I'm not suited for short hair and what I end up doing is a ponytail or bun everyday unless I have a special event, because it takes super long to style my hair.

Trending Tami: I have been sleeping on a silk pillow case since I was a little kid, totally works!

Carina Keller: Thank you for this video! I have a silk pillow case from Lily Silk and several clothing items from them as well. Very high quality. Even when I sleep on the pillow case, my hair is still crazy looking in the morning. I rinse it out daily in the shower and blow dry and style every day. I only wash my hair once a week. I wash twice, apply a deep conditioning treatment and follow with a light conditioner. I’m wondering if I should only apply the conditioner to my ends? I do find when I be done the latter my roots are dry and tangled. I can’t imagine just brushing it out and dry shampooing without rinse. Can you advise how you wash and apply cleansers, to keep your hair fresh without the weigh down?

Lvmykds4: I’m so glad I found u! I’m 57, have allowed my hair to be natural-I have salt and pepper hair, bt it is fine, thin, and frizzy. I felt hopeless about it. I have been using your amazing tips and starting to love doing my hair again. I use a silk pillow and will be graduating to a silk hair cover. Thank you for what u do! ❤️

Jessica Laska: Silk pillowcases are the best! Also great for the skin!

ColorMeShell: I’ve recently discovered the benefits of a silk pillowcase!! My hair started thinning about 4 years ago due to my diagnosis of cirrhosis. I first heard about this from one of your previous videos so THANK YOU. I just received a version of the scalp foundation called “Wow”. I’m not completely convinced of the color match yet. I may have to try the brand you mentioned. Thanks again for all your videos. Love from The States, Virginia.

Marissa Grilli: Thanks! I’ve used Lily Silk for years and the quality is always fantastic. I’ve never heard of that brand of hair powder though. I’m licensed so I would use WOW if I needed it. I’ll give them a try!!

Mary E: Thank you so much for this video! Glad I found you recently as I don't spend a lot of time doing social media. I have scalp showing at the top of my head and want to try the product you mention. Also want to try the silk sleep cap - how do you launder? Back in the days when I dressed for work always dry cleaned silk blouses. P.S. Your mom is very pretty! Can see why you are also!

Christine At Home: Hi Gabi. I have also heard, and done some limited research, that some people tattoo their scalp to look like tiny little hairs. The procedure is expensive and it only lasts about ten years, then one has to decide, should I do it again? - or let it be? So, just wondering what your views are on this & wondering if you have seen it on anybody & would you do something like that for yourself? I am 52 & my sister is 50 & we know that our hair is simply not coming back! Thanks in advance for your reply!

EMP: Thank you for your videos! I've tried some of the KMS volume products and they've been very good. I'd never heard of this brand before watching your channel. Do you have a recommendation for something to add post styling for that very top layer that tends to slightly frizz? Grrr! I've tried different oils & creams but with fine hair, it just looks greasy. Thanks again!

cheryl spence: Great info, well communicated, thank you!!

KF G: Awesome info and I love your gorgeous silk blouse. Will definitely head over to Lily silk. I have fine curly hair, but alot of it to manage. Thanks for your helpful and easy to do tips.

Maria Bushey: Thank you so much for this! Super helpful. I’ll be checking these products out. One question — do you also tease your hair to get your results?

Susan van der Merwe: With my fine straight hair, I like to use heated rollers; mostly beause I really am not good at using a heat brush. Right now I'm trying to make the decision to cut my hair into a bob. My hair has been long all my life, but now I'm turning 65, its probably time for a change. Thank you for your tutorials, they are certainly helping me to come to that point of making that decision.

Antoniette Musolino: Great tips Gabi, your looks amazing now will deft try the silk pillow case

Angela Hagood: Just found your channel and you made a subscriber out of me! I have a lot of hair but it’s becoming more fine, especially since it began falling out due to cancer treatments. When the missing hair grew back it was if I had somebody else’s hair. My cowlicks we’re different, I had empty sections around the temple area and some is now a funky type of wave along with the original straight. I’ve never heard of this powder to help camouflage the bare areas. I can’t wait to check out the product! Thank you for all the tips and advice!

Sarah Brack: Any suggestions for affordable silk pillowcases? I have thin hair as well! You and a couple others have helped me tremendously! So much that when I go to get my hair done they are shocked when they wash my hair and realize how thin it is!!

Rian Shafer: If I don't do an actual blow out on my hair, it's just flat & semi fuzzy. Doesn't matter if I just trimmed it or not, some of my hair wants to be wavy. I'll keep the ends conditioned but blow it out at least every other wash.

Somewhere in Indiana: Appreciate the information; thank you ☺️

alinae75: Thank you very much! My mother and I will be checking out these products

Marilyn: Great video!! I’m buying the scalp base right now!!

K SHIRLEY: Just found your channel. Love it! Thankyou for this information.

Autumn Ray: Hi Gabi...what about satin pillowcase? Would that be just as good as silk? They are cheaper and easier to care for.

Cher T: An alternative to the scalp makeup is Caboki Hair Fiber. Just sprinkle it onto your roots in a color that matches. One little bottle lasts a very long time.

Patrycja Andrzejewska: Honestly, I think your hair looks really amazing

maria giannios: I love your videos. I have to ask does it matter if it's silk or satin? Is there a difference between the 2?

Mandy Savage: What about fine hair that gets very oily with scalp breakouts? I feel gross if I leave the house without washing first.

Ms7of8: The mecosmetics item sounds/looks great, but it's extremely expensive. I have used different brands and forms of fill-ins/root touch ups, and am recently using (for the last several months) BOLDIFY Hairline Powder. It's terrific, I love it. Best one I've used by far. I get it on Amazon and it's waaaay cheaper than the mecosmetics brand.

Ash A: Thank you so much for sharing this information. I keep losing my hair and I don't know where to turn to. I listened to another video recently that said blow drying was out of the question because you will lose more hair and I was shocked. I know I have to blow dry my hair or it looks flat and matte. I'm going to try these products you've spoken about. Thank you again!!

Alaa Jaradat: What would you recommend to someone with curly and fine hair as well? Should I keep the moustrizing products to the minimum or what?

SayItLoud: I'm losing my mind over my thinning hair and trying everything. I'm African American but all my life I've had fine strands, it's super straight when relaxed and very fragile, protein treatments keep my hair really strong now. I never knew until a couple years ago that cotton pillowcases we're destroying my hair. So I now also sleep on satin or silk only...if not wearing my sleepcap. That really helped me too and the length of my hair is much, much longer, but now because I'm getting older, it is thinner. I'm taking Collagen, Spironilactone, biotin... It's helped some but still looks limp. :-( These tips on voluminous shampoos I will definitely try. I used to blow out my hair alot back in the day so my hair looked incredible everyday like yours. I'm just so scared of heat now because I'm older. I'm going to try giant rollers. BTW, your hair looks absolutely beautiful! Also, sleep caps have been a tradition for generations of African American women! They really do work IF made of silk or satin, especially if used consistently.

Le chat: Não acredito que tu é brasileira!! adorando os seus vídeos!

lilajane3: Thanks so much for having a channel that addresses thin, thinning and fine hair. Could you suggest other shampoo/conditioner since Milk_Shake seem difficult to find in Canada. Thanks

Paloma Blanca: Thank you so much for all the info !!!

Marieke Stolp: Wow the last tip is amazing. Thank you!

Apples_and_Orchards: Hello, so glad I found your channel. I am 51 years old and suffer from hair loss for the past 20 years now. On thyroid meds unfortunately for over 25 years now, also had a complete hysterectomy when I was 30 years old (highly regret that decision now) and have an array of other health problems. I always had superfine hair but now I have very low density as well and the main problem although it’s everywhere is right in the front of course you can see through it and see my scalp and it’s so humiliating. The question is which style is best I really really want bangs but then I feel so much of my hair is missing there that it would be pointless but then I feel it looks terrible just scraggly and hanging down I just really don’t know what style of hair to choose I want to keep my hair long but then I don’t want it to look scraggly and lifeless any tips would be appreciated. Btw you are gorgeous!!! ♥️ @glam girl gabi oh also I have mousy brown hair only a few grays here n there struggling to decide if I should go darker or lighter not sure which hair color would look best with super thinning hair? My face shape ( I think ?) is between a diamond and square of that helps

Susan Ray: Love your tips!! Have your tried Toppix "Hair Fibers" I use this line and love it as well. The fibers do not move until you wash it out and you simply shake it gently onto your scalp. My questions is tips for the area just above my temples and my bang area. Any ideas for regrowth or faux human companies to try? Its hard to fill in the front of the scalp. Thanks

Rina Kellogg: Thanks for the tips!! I’ve always had thin fine hair. I can’t tell you how many hairdressers have told me that thank god I never got a perm in the 80’s or dyed my hair cause I probably would have no hair right now. I’ve learned to: 1. Not use conditioner (I use a leave in spray if my hair really needs it just a few sprays). 2. I try to NEVER use a BLOW DRIER or hair straightener If I do use a blow drier (special occasions or really cold outside). I use volume spray on the roots of my scalp but only when I blow dry I also blow dry my hair with my head upside down to give more volume. 3. I normally use a sulfate free shampoo 4. only wash my hair every other day. 5. Only get my hair dyed my natural color. I’ve done this recently in the last couple of years to cover up the grays, but I get it in my natural color so no bleaching, less harsh on my hair. 6. Careful about what hair ties I use to prevent breaking 7. I take Biotin vitamins to help strengthen my hair and nails My hair is very shiny and healthy just very thin.

World Lit: Dankeschön for sharing your story and your journey - interestingly, some hairdressers complain so much about fine hair instead of offering solutions.

Ce Mitchell: Wow! My grandmother and aunts swore by silk pillowcases! I thought it was a generational thing! Thanks!

J. Harris: Have been using a silk pillow case for years now & its made a big difference. People think I have a lot of thick hair

Jennifer Garrett: We have the same type of hair. I need heat to smooth for sure! Over time and with age I’ve lost hair. Thx for this video

gina.homeschools: I just use dry shampoo with my hair color. It’s under 10 bucks and has been working for me for years

Irum Khan: I am 40. Your advice is INVALUABLE. So detailed. carefull explained. i really can't thank you enough. no one is makin videos THIS GOOD . I have been sad at how thin my hair (used to be VERY thick) has become and this gives me some hope! love it. throughly enjoy the WHOLE video. i hardly ever watch videos from start to finish - but you drop SO many pearls of wisdom, i just love watching and learning from you!

Leslie Finchen: I have been blessed with thick, coarse wavy hair...until I got Covid. Three months in my hair started coming out in handfuls. The shedding is starting to slow down at last. But in the meantime I needed new tips. Thank you!

Pixie Dusted Dee: I have fine hair but a ton of it. I fine that when I have short hair I have lots of volume without doing anything to it but when it's longer it get oily and weighed down. Should I keep it in a pixie cut instead of growing it out?

Eva Miri Kantor: Thank you!!!! Just what I needed

Cindi Hunter: Love LILYSILK! I have several of their pieces that are classic, and sophisticated!

jujubunnybea: I would LOVE to know your preferred heat protectant product... I also have fine thin hair. Thank You Oh... I already use a silk pillow case... it really DOES make a difference

Dawn urbina: Thank you for sharing your journey!

Michelle Sesniak: You are such a beautiful person inside and out. I appreciate your honesty and all the knowledge you share!

Sandi Holbrook: Great video!! Gonna try all these steps!! Wish me Luck!!

Patricia Schexnaildre: Hi Gabi, I just found your channel and of course subscribed! I have a question....i have salt and pepper natural hair now. I have used Nioxin shampoo, and it does help with volume. It makes my hair frizzier after using it awhile. What do you think of the Nioxin products?

Yol2000: Thank you so much. You give me hope!

Artist Jane Bush: Do you have any advice for someone with oily roots (fine hair) but it get dry after using these styling products for volume when I color my hair. It’s like I’m always fighting something with my hair. I’ve gotten a satin pillowcase but I’m buying the silk one.

Charlotte Sponar: Thanks for the great info!

Beach Life: Do you still use the KMS Add Voloune Cream or have you found anything else better since the video? I'm looking for some thing to really give me body but still stay soft.

The Blog Authority: My hair is thin, fine and dry. Pulling anything at all over my head creates static electricity and I end up with fly away hair all day long. I have considered getting a silk pillowcase.. but I was afraid this would make the electricity in my hair even worse. Advice?

marilyn hertz: very informative, but take note that you cannot order the ME product to Canada , as they only ship within the US. Just passing this along to other canadians who want to order this product.

Marit: I did not know I needed to use a volume shampo! Thank you! I sleep on a silk case, but allthough I love it, I dont feel it helps on my hair style in the morning. I will try the bonnet and I feel I dont have landed on a routine that works yet, so my hair is not in a healthy state. A video on how to save unhealthy fine hair would be much appreciated. When I bliw out my hair with a blowout brush, it gets firzzy before it gets dry. I am so glad I found your channel. Not pnly are you knowledgeable, but so sweet.

Wanda Yanez: I love your videos. I’m 64 and have thinned fine hair. I send my stylist your video for my next hair cut. I feel very fortunate to have found your channel. I stop using O’lreal hai color and stoped Henna. Both damage the hair. I don’t want gray hair. So now I use plant base gel, NaturTint. Do you have any other recommendations for hair color that is safe for thin hair?

Francia Wood: I love your videos so much; I do have long hair but it’s very fine ☹️ when my mom has so much thicker gorgeous hair.

William Charles: I work at drybar, I love their Triple Sec styling product. Its a volumeizer, textureizer, can also be used as dry shampoo. I like to use it after the blowout. I spray it on the roots, since it can used as a dry shampoo, it'll absorb any excess moisture plus add volume. . They teach us the trick to a lasting blow out is make sure the roots are dry as possible

waseabi52: I have fine and thin wavy-curly hair which is not dry and not super frizzy, and blowing out my hair makes it look much thinner than air drying and then brushing it out for soft wavy texture. Applying heat just makes my hair very slick and glossy, making the hair lay very close to each other and seeming thinner than normally... I use flat iron to fix strands with weird waves, face framing pieces, and that works better for me than whole blowout since it leaves in slight texture. I can totally vouch for silk pillowcases, my hair just looks so Much worse if I sleep on cotton.

Pam B: I have a bald spot on the top of my head from having the Gamma knife done on a pituitary tumor. No one told me about that. I used to have nice thick healthy hair. But I’m 62 now, and boy has my hair changed. It’s salt and pepper frizz now. I sleep on a silk pillowcase. I wake up with my hair flat on the side and smushed up. I’m a rough sleeper. And I need a new pillow. I’m trying to grow my hair out, but I’m not sure I like it. I think I’m going to just get it cut short again. I have more control of it then. I have natural curly hair my whole life. But I can’t handle the frizzy part. I do occasionally blow dry my hair and it will look decent until I shower again. But if it’s short I just brush and go. Maybe blow dry it for some volume but it doesn’t seem to last anymore. It really sucks to get old and have crappy hair.

Josie Koerner: My hair is fine ,thin, straight & flat but I have a lot of hair though and it gets greasy very easily so I have to wash it every day. I know you recommended volumizing shampoo and conditioners but every time I use them they make my hair hard to comb through because my hair mats up, I use the ones for colored hair since I color it but I was wondering which ones you recommended my hair is chest length bleached and dyed.

Sapphire love: Your Hair looks beautiful. You’re very pretty as well. I noticed for the past two years my hair slowly has thin out. It still looks like I have a lot of hair but it’s not as beautiful as it once was.

Ma S: New Sub here...thanks! I love that you speak slowly and clearly. Could you have pity on those of us who have fine, THICK hair, i.e., a LOT of hair that does NOTHING. Type of products to use, best cuts, etc. What is out there is help for Fine hair OR help for Thick hair.

Randy Rosiello: Your Awesome. Thanks for the info videos. I use hair fibers that help cover the top thinning part of my thin hair. I would love for you to do a dry hair product video. For us thin hair ladies blowing my hair daily is terrible. I do all you said and even bought the expensive humidity hair spray you suggested. I live on a budget and wish I could get all you talk about. Maybe you should have a give away. I’m growing out my grey hair( I see it is in style)Is it healthier for the hair? I have very pepper and some salt in the back of my hair. In front all white. I am trying to make my hair healthy and still look good. I am getting depressed because I can’t afford these expensive products in my changing hair. I’m 62 this month and want to look my best. Self conscious about my balding or thinning in front hair prevents me from doing some things. I hate taking pictures of me because of my hair. I can’t wear a hair piece or there is no such thing as clip in strands for the front. I cringe if the wind blows. I use sexy hair stay spray and now using your anti humidity hairspray. What do I do? I wish I was a genie who could blink my eyes and your doing my hair. I’m not so lucky. Ready to give up! Men have it easy. Go bald and you can even shave your head to look awesome. I can’t do this. what can I do!

Love&Peace: Plating your hair also helps. Great show and I use silk pillow cases really helps.

Cheryl Brewer: Fantastic video thank you so much

Lynn Bittner: Thank you soooo much for this info! I didn`t know scalp foundations existed. My hair is white and the pink scalp looks awful. Life changer

Randy Rosiello: Your amazing. I use hair fibers that hide the thinning I have. My dermatologist has recommended hair vitamins. I started them and I started to feel ill. Bad stomach I guess. HELP. I wish I could afford all the products you recommended. I would love to try them. It is making me feel ugly and I’m getting depressed. I live in the south abs swim in a pool or ocean for about 6 months

Kate S: Can you share which hair dryer you used (from Wish)? I use Jerome Russell coloured sprays (TBBS) but they transfer. Thanks for sharing the product that works for you
