Easiest Beach Waves For Short Hair | Damp Hairstyle With Dyson Airwrap

Hey cuties,

So in the last year I've been gifted the Dyson Airwrap and the Corrale. I've been asked a lot about which I think one should get ... honestly I have no definitive answer because I think they they both achieve different goals. This will be my first video of 3. This one highlighting the Airwrap... the next the Dyson Corrale... and then lastly which one I would get for specific needs.

Hope this is helpful!

xx

Hey everyone welcome back to my channel today, i'm doing a dyson air raft review, which is this guy over here. I have had it for a couple months. I have just been getting used to it like how it works like the different heads that you can have with it and, as you know, if you follow me on instagram i'll leave my instagram handled right here, i also have the dyson corral, so i'm going to Be doing a separate video for that, but we can like compare it after i've done the both, because i do get questions from you guys, but which one like should you get? I think that each one has its own niche and like a reason why you'd buy one versus the other, so i'm going to do the air wrap. Today i have just washed my hair, so it's been air drying for probably about 20 30 minutes. I'M going to start off with this just to make sure it's as like dry as it needs to be to start styling kind of mimics the shape of the dyson cool and hot purifier. I believe that's what it's called, but the other machines that i have in my house, so the air wrap does have a cord, so it's plugged in right now it has a couple of buttons on it. So this one would be the heat button like how hot or cold you want it, and then this is the strength of the air and then on and off then there's also the lock button where you would use to lock the head put that on press. It up so that it would lock, then i'm going to choose medium heat and then turn it on, so it actually blows out from this end, not the pink end, which i originally thought it might do. Okay, quite a bit dryer, it's not 100 dry because you do want your hair to be a little bit damp with the airwrap collection to actually get it to properly style. So now i'm just gon na press the button to unlock it. Take it off quickly! I'M gon na show you the other, like headpieces, that i probably won't be using today. So these two are some other heads that i won't be using today, but i'm gon na put the names of them right above them, so that one's for smoothing and ones also for a similar reason. But i think that, like the little balls on this one does something different. Then there's this one, which is obviously more like a barrel brush it'll, give you a different effect than the other brushes, of course, maybe more of like a loopy end. If that's what you're? Looking for or flipping out, even so, these are two other ones. I'M gon na be using the smaller version today, just because my hair is still like relatively short. So if i use the bigger one, i won't get as much of a wave as i'd like this. One does leave a really beautiful kind of like voluptuous curl to it, but not kind of that. Beachy way that i love so much so we're not using this one we're going to be using this one in each of the sizes. There are two like directions, so you can see like each one goes their own way and that is essentially like you follow the arrows so that you know which way your wave is going to go so like this. One would go this way and like make my waves go away from my face, but if i use this one where the arrow is going towards my face, then the way it would go towards my face. I'M going to be using this one. First also, the lighting in my room is going crazy because i think there's just a lot of clouds in the air. So i'm really sorry about the constant change in lighting. So today i'm going to be doing a really relaxed beach curl. So it doesn't matter necessarily which direction i choose. As long as the air is blowing out, it'll give me a little bit of a wave, i'm going to be starting off with this size, the other way that it would work and why you need the directions is because it actually like sucks up your hair, which I can show you really briefly when i curl my hair, i put it up to the maximum temp and then, and then you have this like really crazy dude. So, for me, these curls are a little bit too much for me so like i would obviously pull it down and like that it would relax. But yeah like you can totally do that and that's why it's a smaller barrel and that's why it has arrows. That'S not the look we're going for today. So since we're doing like a really relaxed wave, i'm just gon na really quickly do the bottom of my hair. I will be doing like the curl that i showed you on top with the bottom, just because it's easier so that it kind of curls in a bit and then for this piece, i'm going to change it actually, because i want the curl to go. The other way we're going to follow these arrows and it will go out towards my ear. Okay, just so that has a little curl in it probably fall down a little bit in a bit anyways, because my hair is so stubborn and straight so now for like these parts, that's when i'm gon na go and wrap it around like it's almost like a Curling iron, but it's actually better for your hair, because it's not an iron and also you can give it a shot of hold at the end by pressing the power button all the way. Okay, so you can kind of tell that there's starting to come a little wave through my hair, and it's just like really like a breezy wave like almost like. I just got like wind swept, which is really really fun because, like whenever i do my hair with a curling iron or a straightener, i don't quite get this like voluminous curl, it's more like choppy. So that's one of the main reasons why i love the air wrap so much because you get a whole like different texture with the hair. So one thing that i think is important is to alternate the height of your curls, so i'm going to start higher at the back, because that gives me a little bit more volume at the back of my head and then you have this little curl. So that's it. These are the air wrap waves and i feel, like i get a lot more volume from using the air wrap versus other hair like styling tools, because about like the air blowing like close to my roots, so it lifts it up and also the waves just feel. A little bit more like natural, like kind of like i woke up like this versus you, can see like the pieciness. Sometimes, when you're using let's say like curler or straightener, it just looks a little bit different, so i would definitely recommend it if you are on the fence about it. I think a lot of places have like great return policies. Anyways. You can always try it out for yourself and i really think that it's a great like must-have hair tool to start off with, especially if you're starting to invest in your hair styling tools. So if you have any questions, leave them down below like the video, if you liked it subscribe to my channel, follow me on instagram and i will see you very soon.

Deja Corr: This was such a GREAT tutorial for shorter hair, really appreciated it. I’m still getting the hang of my air wrap, and found this very helpful. Thanks ! :)

Lindsay Alvestad: Thank you so much! My hair is the same length. I’m on the fence about the Air Wrap and I wasn’t sure I could get a beach style wave. This was just what I needed to see.

Dlh h: You did a great job for the loose beachy look. I always just see fancy big curls and you did this look well.

Macy Mace: Ahhh I’ve been looking for a video JUST like this!! My hair is the same length and PIN STRAIGHT. I’m so excited to try it this way

Andrea Sada: I also do this with my airwrap and recommend using the barrels on the opposite sides when you are using it was a wand! Since we are turning the dyson upside down, the barrels will now take the hair to opposite direction than if it was right side up. It will give you a smoother look on the roots without so much frizz! xx

Angie E: Now why would anyone hit the dislike button ‍♀️??? This is a wonderful tutorial so thank you! I just got mine and have only used the soft smoothing brush whichI love. The tip with placing it a bit higher in the back is a good one! You made it look so easy and I can't wait to try this after my next hair wash.

Haerim Ryan: Hi! Thanks so much for this post. Really find it easy to follow. Quick question - when you do the outer part of the hair, do you normally curl over the barrel or under the barrel? I am having hard time not making it look too poofy on top

Rachel Ng: The end results looks natural and amazing ^^ May I know do u use hairspray afterwards? And how long does it lasts?

tam ham: I love your result! It looks so effortless which is what I want. I like the ends of your haircut. How do I tell my stylist to cut it like yours?

Asteriax x: Thanks for the tutorial! How long did it take you to style it?

francisca: i do the same with my Dyson!!! I loveeee it!

Safidy Rakotomavo: thank youuu I used the airwrap with my really long hair ( i'm kinda uset to it ) bjt now just cut it really short ... so I'm a bit struggling now again

BikerGuy Chris 31: I love your hair in that style, you look gorgeous

Every Haircolor: love the natural vibe here!

Sara Dawson: How long do you hold each part on the dryer please? Xx

Marta Raven: Hi great review would you recommend short or long barrels ? I’m ready to get one , but I’m not sure which barrel is better??

Damla Elif Çokrak: This video is really helpful but I have a question about the blow dryer tool. Is that really drying your hair fast?

Tasha Bella: And which heat do you u use for the wave? Hottest? Or medium?

Диана Романова: Thank you!!!

4sTaylor: How long did it take you?

Amika B: Did you do this on dry hair??

Zenny Tran: is there a reason why you use your hand to wrap it around instead of letting the air wrap it like that this meant for? is it required to have that wavy look? thanks

luguedes araujo:

Noc: Does this heat your hair up?

Sabine Ro: Great video. But you do realize, you wrapped your hair the wrong way around the airwrap at the end, do you?

devra cooper: music was too loud; thanks for tutorial

Teddy Burr: Not too much difference at all from the started style - for all the time involved. Sorry.
