How to get volume in your hair? Now that's the topic of today's video. It really comes down to the products you're using and the technique that you're using to set up the foundation for when you're building that volume. So, let's start from the very very Foundation, the shampoo right, the shampoo and conditioner. I have a volumizing, shampoo and conditioner that actually does start the process of building volume in your hair. If you use something that's almost too conditioning or too soft on the hair, you're. Actually going to limit the chances of getting that volume that you want by, you know buying something that is selling you on oh silky, hair and this, and that all these oils well you're, actually gon na make it that much more difficult to build volume. So I have the volumizing, shampoo and conditioner, which actually really really helps build volume in the hair. So next it's about using the pre-styling sprays. Now my personal favorite for building volume in the hair is one starting with 25 spray. All you need is maybe one two. Three spritzes three or four spritzes the most. If you have longer hair, you can actually spray this in and then comb through the hair, very gently with a wide tooth comb or the vent brush that I sell do not use a hair cutting comb to rip through your hair. That'S the last thing you want to do use a wide tooth comb there. Now you have the First Foundation. I look. I say it's like the sunscreen for your hair. Basically, it's a foundational spray. Make sure you shake it up and when you press down press firm, don't be light with it, because it'll shoot out like a laser stream, you have to press down firmly on the sprayer next, if you're really looking for big volume, especially if you have fine hair Use tidal wave, that's what I suggest it's my number one selling product now you could potentially be using tidal wave improperly if you're over spraying it it could feel too gritty. So you have to make sure like with anything else, don't over use it. You don't need a lot of this product, so I would say: go in at the root area, one two, maybe three spritzes and then one for good luck. On top and that's it, then what you can do is work the product in from the scalp moving upwards. Like so okay, you move, you work the product in, and you start to build that volume right from this point on move your hands through it and you can feel the sea. Salt now is starting to create that volume and that texture in the hair so you're able to then start the building process. Next is the blow drying technique. Now I, let's see I've been doing this for my whole career. Basically - and this is the blow dryer that I have that I do sell on shop.the Salon, guy.com uh and what you want to do is you want to start to lift from the root area, always make sure you're using the nozzle, because the nozzle is what directs The hair, if you are not using the nozzle, the the air, is going to just blow all over the place in a much wider stream and wider Direction, so always make sure that you are using the nozzle here which it comes with Magnetic attachment. And then you can direct the air in that direction so when it comes to building the volume. Finally, when you're blow drying your hair, especially on shorter hair, you want to lift like this, so lock the fingers in and lift, and then you go in with the nozzle and like so so I'll demonstrate. Um, like this, I'm locking in and holding it and release, lock it in hit it with the air and release you do you never ever ever, you never want to go in put your hand in and then hold the blow dryer on your hand like this, for You'Re going to burn your hand, you're going to burn your hair and that's how you create heat damage so instead hold it one two three and then release locking in lift one two three and then release lock it in and release okay and look we're ready. We'Ve created some volume in the hair, and it's so simple to do this in a matter of seconds, then what you want to do, depending on where you're you know how you're drawing your hair, what you're doing you can even do this on longer hair? It doesn't really matter if you are say trying to trying to build volume in your hair. If you have longer hair, if you're a female and you want to start to blow dry it, then that's one, that's where the brown brush comes in my round brush. This is a two and a half inch ionic ceramic technology round brush that helps actually dry the hair faster and it reduces damage to your hair because of the technology that is here on the barrel. Okay, so then you want to do the same thing use and build that volume from the tidal wave from the styling products that you use as a pre-styler, and you want to always lift up and away like this Up and Away do not just hold the blow. Dryer on the brush like this because you're going to burn your hair, so do it in phases like this and then that's it back and let it sit and that's how you're going to build volume. Mr. Clean: hey salon guy. I've been watching your videos for a while and even when I follow all your tips, my hair can never get more volume, and it just lies super flat. I use sea salt spray, use a hair dryer, and even use that hair curler but nothing seems to work. I have very fine hair but it is the right length for this so I am not sure why my hair wont get more volume
