Hey guys welcome back to my channel, so in today's video I'm going to be showing you guys how I style my short bob. I get tons of questions all about my hair. What kind of haircut I have how I fix it the products I use. All of that kind of stuff, so you will get the answer to all those questions in this video. I show you guys the two ways I like to start my hair just simply straight, and then how I get this kind of textured. Look that I've really been loving recently. I think it's super fun, it's kind of messy and it's not technically curled, but it's not straight. It'S a really easy way to curl your hair if you have super short hair without losing length. So, if you're interested in seeing how I got this crazy hair of mine and how I sell it and all that kind of good stuff, the color of my hair, is I get tons of questions about that. If you want to know all the details about my hair, all of my secrets then, and just keep on watching, ok so to get started. I have just dried my hair and there's really like no rhyme or reason to how I dry it. I just dry it in the duration of my part and I use a comb. I use a comb just to brush it out. While I dry my hair, the products I use before drying, my hair are the it's a 10 miracle leave-in product and the Aquash straightening ultra gel. So those are the two things I like to use. I also like to use the kinder and blow dry spray, but I'm out of that at the moment, so those are the two things that I used today before I dried my hair after I dried my hair, I pretty much just get started so what I like To do first I'll show you like the two different ways I style my hairs. So I will show you how I straighten my hair and just smooth it out, and then I will also show you how I like to add some texture to it, but without how to get curled so to speak. So the straightener well, the first of all the product I'm going to be using on my hair to protect it from the heat is the neuro style it protects. This is the heat iron spray from Tom Mitchell. It came with my straightener that I have her. My Flatiron everyone and I'm just gon na, spread it on the bottom layer of this hair. This will just help protect it from the heat there's straightener that I use now. My Rusk one bit the dust a couple weeks ago, like two weeks ago, so have the Paul Mitchell, neuro, straightener and now literally, because my hair is so short, you don't have to use a comb, but I just pick up little pieces of hair and I start To straighten them now I have extremely coarse, thick hair, so I have this straightener set to 420 degrees only because my hair is so thick and so coarse. A lot of you guys ask me what my haircut is. Currently, my haircut is just a super short textured. Bob, so it's got a ton of light yards in it and it has an undercut meaning and that be like bottom underside. My hair back here is shaved, underneath to take out some of that bulk that I have back there. So I've like do a couple passes over my hair because it is so thick, but for a lot of you, it won't take this much time to straighten out your here, but no matter, if I'm doing a straight look or a textured look whatever I'm doing. I always take my time on this under layer because, if I don't it'll be way too thick and like poofy looking so to speak, I also get tons of questions about what color my hair is and like how we achieve this color. So we just highlight it with just regular Lightner and we do foils throughout my entire head to get the blond in there. And then we tone it with UTA, which is ultra toner ash blonde from Paul Mitchell. And if you leave that toner on there for a long time, it will turn your hair gray. So if you're, looking for a gray look or a super super cool blond, you can leave it on there longer and if your hair is light enough, like a 9 or 10 like a level 9 or 10, it will lighten your hair up to a grey. But you don't want that. Look you have to like take it off very quickly, okay, so I've got that under layer smooth down now this part of my hair is gon na, be crazy because I had it pinned back while I was doing my makeup, so it looks really wild and all Over the place, I'm just gon na take the next little section of my hair clip this back up and straighten this part. So from here on out, except for when I get to my bangs, it's all self-explanatory. So I'm just gon na put some music over this and fast forward. Okay. So when I get to this back section right here, I just top back section - I just take it and lift it and kind of straighten it backwards, instead of side to side to create some volume at the root and then for the bangs. I separate them, and I literally just take them straight up and just straighten the root upward and then curl down. So it gives a little bit of lift at the root, and I just do that in small little sections, so straight up, okay. So this is what my hair looks like just straight. I naturally have a ton of volume, so I don't always use this product that I'm about to share with you guys, but if you have more fun or hair or you just need some extra lift. I think this is an amazing product for that. It'S the big sexy hair powder play, and it's literally like you just sprinkle it on there rub it in and it instantly creates volume and texture. But if you don't like the way your hair feels when it's like tacky and a little bit dirty feeling then do not use this because you won't like it but I'll turn. So you guys can see. Now I will show you guys how I put some texture in it, which is one of my favorite ways to wear my hair so still taking this straightener, I'm going to tin up it's like top half and I'm going to take my straightener and I'm actually gon Na curl with it, but I'm not gon na - do like a full curl you'll see what I'm saying it's kind of hard to explain. I take the straightener and I just turn it and let go and it doesn't look like it did much, but it will once we start doing that, a bunch so just taking it and adding like a little bend to it. It'S hard to explain, but I'm really literally rotating this straightener, like a half turn, I start with on the bottom, because it's so short, I don't want to have like a Shirley Temple. Look if you know what I mean so just take a little section and start to turn it adding some little bins in here now, I'm kind of full turning it, but not really taking it all the way to the end before I let go. It'S kind of hard to explain it's easier, just to show you guys and I randomly pick up pieces so that way, it's like super fun kind of super random, but still textured. Okay. So once I've got that base like texture in there, I'm actually gon na start to Curl Curl a few pieces cuz. I just want a couple that are really curled to kind of melt in with the ones that are just kind of textured and I'm doing all of this away from my face. Okay and I'm not gon na comb that out or anything yet, I'm gon na just come back to it in a second I'm gon na. Let it cool for a minute. You know do the same thing over here, just kind of start to put a little bend, but it gets to the back. I literally just do the same thing. I just randomly feel for pieces, picking them up and kind of bend them with the straightener, and I start to curl a few of them and in the backup, alternate the ways that I'm turning the straightener okay. So come up this little crazy right now, but I start with this side and kind of just pull pieces. Apart now do this side and if I think I need a couple more pieces with some texture, you can see it's more just textured instead of curled, so you don't lose any length if that makes sense. Okay, now I'm going to take my big sexy hair spray. I'M gon na place my bangs exactly how I want them and then spray them in place kind of want some more texture right there and then I just spray the rest in place, okay guys. So that is how I do my messy kind of textured hair. How I style it my super short bob, I love short hair. I think it's so fun and I love personally on myself having a short hair, but I think it's really sometimes it's a big step to take if you're used to having longer hair and then you wonder how you know: you're gon na stall it and that sort Of thing, and sometimes I like to tuck this side of my hair - I think that looks really cute, but I will do here my untuck it real, quick I'll, do a quick 360 for you guys. Once I have initially fixed my hair like this, it will stay like this for several days. I don't wash my hair every like 7 to 10 days, and so it will last like this for a long time, I'll just touch up a couple pieces in the mornings. When I wake up and then I am good to go so I hope you guys enjoyed seeing how I fix my hair. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments down below. Thank you guys so much for watching. I hope this video was helpful in teaching you guys how I style. My short bob, please make sure to subscribe before you leave, and I will see you in my next video bye, guys.

Chrissy Tempin: I have that exact same cut, just a little longer. I started shaving the back a few years ago and it’s life changing! I’m starting to style it more than just straight down. Love this video.

Jen Taylor Style: I’m so glad you did this one! I have really thick, coarse hair as well and I always say I want to grow it out but it’s just too much most of the time. After watching this I think it’s time to simplify my life and chop it of again!

Kat Pic: I loved this-- I have a blonde inverted bob and this is beautiful look!

Tiffany Tunoa: Thanks for getting this up. You gave me courage to go this short and in the morning is my hair appointment! Thank you!

Amy Jo: Love your hair so much. Thank you for sharing this with us

Amanda Marie: Love this look!! Your hair always looks super cute!!!

Suzen -: Best “how to” I have seen for this type of hairstyle! Just discovered your channel and am really enjoying it!

Leslie Langford: I have been watching your videos for about 9 months now and I just decided to cut 8 inches of my hair off just because of you lol, it's cut at the length yours was right when you had Makoa. I love my short hair. Great tips and tricks. Thanks! I always look forward to watching your videos!!

Brenda Tate: Beautiful! Do you ever have a bad hair day? It always looks great! Thanks for sharing!

Homesteadhill: Thank you for taking the time to make this video. You are a busy new mommy and I know that you don’t have much time to do anything! We appreciate you. Love your hair !!

Jay Topham: Thank you for sharing this video - has given me some great tips. My haircut is similar to yours but I have longer at the front. However, I have very fine hair. It's a good tip you give just to bend the hair. I have been experimenting using the flat iron to make curls - like you say, if you hold them in place for too long the hair does go very 'Shirley Temple'! I decided to have mine cut as I am going through menopause and get very hot at night and wake up with damp, sweaty hair around my neck. So I thought, it had to come off! It's much better now. At least I'm not washing the life out of my hair now. Thanks again for sharing - regards, Jay from the UK

Jennie Scott: Really love your hair and loved the comb technique will try that myself.

jenny bryson: Love the video. I just got my hair cut short and this helped a lot.

Denise Neilson: Omg I love your hair!! Exactly what I want to do with mine

Amanda Baias: Very helpful. I have pretty much the same haircut as you, so this was really welcome. I never know what to do with my hair. I just wash it and sometimes blow-dry it. These two styles of yours have made me decide to get a hair straightener!

Cari Resh: Love this!! I have an appointment this weekend, and am thinking of getting this style. How would you recommend me asking my stylist for this cut? Thanks so much!!

amanda thompson: I love how you add the curls at the end. I recently had my hair cut into a similar style bob, but I have fine thin hair. I'm jealous! Your hair is so gorgeous and thick. I do have some natural waves that helps with body though and I'm loving the change after having quite long hair most of the past 15 years. Thanks for sharing!

Sharon Henry: I always love your hair! I have a graduated A-line haircut and I really enjoy it, however my hair is super fine! I would give anything to have a little more course texture. I also highlight mine which helps tremendously!

Debbie Capaldi: That is a perfect hair style for you. Looks fab!

Deanne Schermerhorn: Summer I love love your hair! My hair is very similar, also very thick and course. I would love to see the undercut as well. My hairdresser never seems to get what I am asking for when I say “undercut”

Mary Mack: Great video- I pretty much have this exact cut. This was so helpful!

Heather Nicole: Perfect video for me right now. Just got this same cut with very thick hair as well. I regretted it instantly when trying to style it but then I found this video and now I have some great tips on how to style it, thanks girl! Really appreciate this!

Lucy Elly: I just had it regrettably cut half an inch below my ear in that long pixie I said I had. Do you know at what point you no longer have to keep cutting the back to avoid a mullet, until it will just grow out evenly all around? I hope that made sense. Xoxo

Lisa Massey: love your hair cut and video. very easy to follow.

brittlemaker: Love your hair! Thanks showing how to create this style. My hair is cut like yours and I haven’t been able to get it looking good. I have thin hair so maybe these tips can help me achieve more fullness. Now I can do it! Keep the videos coming! Awesome!

Tina Bonner: LOVE IT!!! Thank you so much for sharing.

Lisa Marie: I love love your hair cut! Super cute!

Jennifer Davis: I really like the sleek look. Thanks for sharing.

LOTTENOLES: So been waiting one this video, thanks for getting it up so quick

carole clare: Hi Summer‍♀️ I have been growing my hair longer for a year now and have thick wavey hair. I too have a hair appointment booked and I’m ready for a new style. My hair grows very fast as is now just under my chin at the front and have longer layers. I recently bought a deep wave styling iron....I looked like Tina Turner lol! It’s always a worry when you have a new style about how to maintain it. Seeing you style your hair has really helped me and the wide tooth comb is a good idea. Your hair looks lovely and you are very generous to share with us. Have a lovely day ❤️

Sarah Sensinger: How long does it take to get this look from start to finish?

Marisa Smith: Love it! Thank you!

Cynthia Lear: So jealous of your hair!! You have the perfect head of hair!!!

Susan Beyer: I would love to see the undercut I have course, thick hair as well. I also have a stacked bob but can never get it to lay right in the back. Thanks for your video!

Lynette Easter: I love your style!! I think sometimes people think good product is not important and they can just use any old thing and it will work and it does not work that way. I have the course and thick hair too Summer and you have to use good product to achieve the style along with taking your time like you did. My daughter is a stylist in a very nice salon in the mts. of NC.

Suyapa Martínez: Beautiful! I love your hair!!

Laken Ramey: Yay!!! Just in time! I was crossing my fingers you would get this up in time for my hair appointment. lol it's at 9 in the morning! ❤️

Blondie Warrior: I want to color my hair like yours.

Cindy Snow: How long would it take to grow out your A line? Just wondering I have too much of an A line in the back.

Karen's Kloset: I love the style of your hair but I think you would really look extra beautiful in red hair because your skin tone it would really warm you up you should give it a try⚘

Holli D**: Love your hair color!

Lucy Elly: I’ve got the thick hair issues too. I have a long pixie and have to flat iron it I have too or it looks too big :( so I am back to growing it out again lol

Margie Danhoff: Summer, Thank you for a great video! Can you please tell me what brand/model flat iron you are using! Thank you in advance.

nailartShookme: Love your hair. Do you have an undercut in back? I have fine hair, but a lot of it. My hair wants to stick out toward the bottom in the back. I was wondering if an undercut would help that.

sherri carr: Do you choose not to slightly turn for a curl, or is it your intention to leave it ugly straight? Check out some others. You're good!!!

Waiting2soar13: Weird question but how many inches in the front longer part of your hair.??
