I have been cutting & coloring hair for over 25 years all over the world. Starting my hairdressing life in Australia, were I was born, was a lot different from today were I still cut behind the chair in a salon I own in Texas. This year is going to be a big one on so many levels for this industry with YouTube taking a new level of social media and opening the door to a new client-hairdresser relationship.

Don'T you move my hands, aren't as steady as they used to be by Odin's beard, you shall not cut my hair lest you feel the wrath the Mighty Thor so in this video, what we're gon na do is we're gon na break down the haircut. We did some paper-thin boiled highlights to start off, but let's just jump right into it, because it's a Victoria Beckham sort of haircut. But if you, google, Victoria Beckham on YouTube 31,000 videos come up, so we're going to call it a short-stacked Bob. But what we're going to do is just separate that section to start with we're gon na break that section right above the occipital bone. I take it all the way above that, even though we're starting right at the nape, so you can see what I'm gon na do is pull that out at the nape just creating a little bit of a guideline, I'm not taking a lot off, but I'm gon Na have a pretty heavyweight line down the bottom, where her hairline is so I'm going to take it pretty short, but you can see here I'm just taking that straight across because I want it pretty clean. Looking. So, just following that guideline over through the nape area, you can see right here just dragging it slightly back, taking diagonal forward sections making sure everything is clean. So now we're done with the back. What I'm gon na do is I'm gon na? Take that section right behind area right up to the top of the crown area, just sectioning, that off now this is pretty important, because this is where I see a lot of mistakes happening and we end up with holes on the side. So all we're doing is taking that section down again making sure it's really clean one of the most important things with haircutting is keeping everything clean and your sections clean, so you're not having to go back over stuff. Now again, you can see right here, I'm just pulling it out at 90 degrees, but the top of the hair is coming off at zero degrees, elevate elevation, even though it's at 90, the top you can see when I slow this down. I'M pulling that section out that top section is coming out at zero, it's straight across. So that's where my weight lines gon na, be that's where we want to keep some weight, so you can see here as I'm cutting again I'm pulling it back. I'M not dragging this is a forward, I'm cutting on the back stroke. This is important, even though the haircut flows forward. We still want that clean section, so I'm cutting it when I'm dragging the scissors back. Okay. Moving on to the site, I take a horizontal section right across the top and pin that out of the way, even though I'm gon na be working on vertical sections, I'm gon na take that top section and just move it all the way out. You can see right here how clean my sections are again. I'M slightly diagonally forward, dragging it back over directly in the back to make sure we keep a little bit of weight up the front there, so we can go back through it later on. So after working through the haircut on both sides, now I'm just going to dry it before I cut any more because I want to see how it lays so I'm just going to go through and I'm gon na dry this with I'm using a round brush you're, Not pushing the head down with it, I like the boar, bristle brushes just because they're just better on the hair you, through with my poor little flat. I I love the newer Flatiron that heats up so quick, but I'm just gon na smooth out the very bottom of it just run me the Flatiron down Midlands to ends I'm not starting the roof. So I want to keep that a little bit of volume. I got in there so just smoothing that out to finish cutting so now, I'm just gon na go through and I'm just gon na personalize a little bit go through and texturizer break everything up just make sure it's got a little bit of movement down there. I love this haircut. I love the way it turned out. Listen if you, like my videos and you, like my content, hit that subscribe button hit that fel notification. So you know when I upload next hey.
