How To Cut Your Own Hair Short At Home || Women'S Diy Haircut Short Bob (Actual Chin Length Sho

(EN/中文/한국/tiếng việt/bahasa/Tagalog) Emboldened by my many LOB (long bob) DIY haircut successes I then venture boldly where never been before (at least by myself) - actual chin length short blunt bob haircut! Technically a lot harder than the long bob LOB to DIY cut at home, but happily my actual chin-length short bob DIY haircut turned out to be a success (despite long hours and sore arms and a wretched neck haha). But so cathartic and it was all in all a fun evening spent with myself and a pair of scissors (actual haircutting ones that cost me like ... US$6. Which I finally sprang for, cos i'm cheap and actual hairdresser haircuts are like, 10x more haha). I'm totally addicted to DIY haircuts! Easy, economical, you have total control and its creatively fun!

So basically, 2 ponytails at each side and one strategically placed ponytail at the nape of your neck. Snip the back off, trim and tidy, and then divide and conquer the sides.

Got the idea for doing this cut by watching a ton of haircut tutorials - not many DIY haircut tutorials on Youtube for actual chin-length real short hair haircuts, but big thanks to a couple of specific videos that helped me - Sara Urb with this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiVX3B... and sadly, also a shoutout to US JAP FAM and her video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLkfcT... for showing me WHAT NOT TO DO. I ended up trying my own approach but seeing their how-to's helped me a lot!

This is the state of my hair now., It's pretty nice, I like it, but it's getting a bit too long for my taste.. So now I'm gon na give myself another diy chop thinking somewhat `` french bob'' style., But because I'm thinking about going so short today, the approach is going to be slightly different from my last diy haircut, video, which I will link somewhere up here if you're interested In checking that out., But yeah today experimental so, let's see how it goes. I want to do it somewhat chin length. Anyway, if you're new here hi My name is Jean: this is our channel.. If you like the video, please click like and give us a subscribe. Okay Right, so this is the setup. I'm in my bathroom I am equipped with a pair of scissors hair clips to hold up my hair, a bunch of hair ties in case. I need them (. I will need them. That is the plan ) and a bottle. Spray., So the plan today is to cut it quite short, and this is the picture I'm kind of wanting to go for.. I don't know what it will turn out to be. So, let's hope that end result looks something akin to that. Okay, first, i'm gon na brush my hair.. So basically, I've tried to gather up the hair at the nape. Grab, a hair tie and just tie that together. Tie the 2 side sections.. This is what it looks: like. It's right at the bottom of the nape.. By the way, not a hairdresser Saw a few youtube videos, but honestly, there's like so many tutorials on this and so many different methods.. It all seems kind of random., Oh By the way. Now that I'm actually going to do the chop, I'm going to just to prevent mess, I tie a second band down there so that the hair doesn't scatter everywhere and I get to take it out in one bunch.: Clever, huh, Right, okay, so let's go Cut hair Below the 1st hair elastic band., oh all, right, okay, so time to let it out and see what I've done, what horror, i've, inflicted., Okay. Right: okay, now., Hey, look Super weird style! Cracking on. Tie up your hair, leaving just the back section. Loose. Give it a spritz with the water spray and comb it out. Lay scissors across nape & cut straight across. Use a good pair of haircutting scissors Link below if you need one from Amazon. Retie hair, so as to let down the next layer at the back Of your head. Repeat, spritz, with water comb out and trim with scissors. Point cut the hair you've just trimmed at the back of your head. So it's not so blunt. Check the hair at the back as you go along. Retie hair so as to let down the next layer at the back of your head., Repeat: spritz with water comb out and trim with scissors. Point cut the hair you've just trimmed. So it's not so blunt. Let down last section of hair (. For me I ended up doing 4 layers in total, using the above process. ) Repeat: spritz with water comb out and trim with scissors. Keep checking to refine the cut. So you don't end up with uneven lengths of hair.. The back is looking a lot more tidy, now. Trim & check until satisfied. And the back is done. Comb, the hair and draw a centre, parting. Divide and conquer the hair., Leave the bottom layer of hair down and tie up the rest of the hair to get it out of the way. Repeat: spritz, with water comb out and trim with scissors. Decide. If you want a flat angle to the cut - or you wish to have it at a slight sloping angle, down towards the chin, Tidy up your cut. Repeat on the opposite side, spritz with water, comb out and trim with scissors. Check, the length is balanced on both Sides of the face. Let the next layer of hair, down., Repeat spritz with water comb out and trim with scissors. Use the first original layer as a guide as to the length you need to cut. Point: cutting and trimming the hair to tidy up your cut. Check. The overall length and shape of the cut Cutting your own hair is strangely cathartic.. It gives you this sense of control., So you've got the general idea of how this goes. I'm going to speed through the rest of the layers till the end.. This is all the hair that I've cut out. Yeah i'm going to give this a blow dry and see how it goes at the back. Cos. The back is still looking a bit pokey. I want to see. Styling can just disguise it a bit.. This is how it looks with a Center-part or how I usually do it a little bit off to the left. Right. So if you have enjoyed this diy haircut, video please give the video a like and subscribe and help us grow the channel.. I hope this has given you some inspiration for your own diy haircut at home. Right. So I'm going off now to wash the little bits of hair off me, and i wish you all very fantastic diy haircuts at home by yourself. Cathartic experience give it a go. If you're interested to have a try., i highly recommend it bye.

Jody Lancaster: That is incredible! You did a better cut than most hair stylists do. You also have thick, straight, glossy hair which really helps. Good work!❤

Karen K: Beautiful! It looks like a professional cut. I like the way you do it layer by layer. It is so much easier to get it right. Thanks!

katze: I did this today and it came out so good. For a long time I was scared to cut my mid length hair short but your instructions were clear and the results were great so I gave it a try. Thanks for posting this it was really helpful.

Dinkydoo: Wow, really cute! I had an A-Line Bob at the start of pandemic and was able to manage it for a year. Got lazy and was always too impatient and just started cutting a straight line at the length which doesn't work. I need to take my time and, also, not stress about the mess. My hair looks now about the same as yours before you started cutting. Watching you cut gave me some confidence, so we'll see............ Thanks!

eveflyaway: Dear Jean, Thank you so much for sharing this video with us! It was very helpful. I've been cutting my own hair successfully to keep it short, but your video helped fine-tune the process and make it easier. You did a great job of showing how you do a short haircut!

• Damla •: Thank you soooo much, I did this by myself and it came out so pretty thank you for making this video <3

Val Chaneco: I vividly remember cutting my own hair! Especially the reaction on my face -- similar to yours at 02:00. I did the same thing with the pigtails, but I didn't have a mirror behind me.

Andrea&YoungMook안녕커플: Gorgeous as always! I wish I would have this courage as well to cut my own hair! This haircut suits you sooo well! ❤️

Love Boyle-Richards: You did a excellent job, end result was fabulous. Your intro was perfect, you made an excellent quality video, the edits, the music and sound, the information (with the added English in the info box and throughout the video was a great target reach for a larger audience) and the confidence was spot on. Your main details in your personality stood out in the best way possible. All the best on your journey with YouTube ! ps. on my way to check your channel out, good luck :)

STS Lim: Thank you so much Jean. Love your video and talk-through. You inspired me to get started at once. Very pleased with the result! Xx Sue L.

Explorefood 715: OMG! I have also cut my own hair but not as short as yours. By all means, it is nowhere as good as yours either. You look like a pro, dividing it in three section & tying the back to avoid the mess is excellent. You definitely did very well on this. Seems hard to cut the back though. You looked super awesome & I will definitely like:) And yes, I am completely inspired & I will give it a try again. This upload is total inspiration & enjoyed all the way to the end.
