Hey everyone, its Mandy from life, songs of a busy mom calm, and I'm here in my bathroom with wet hair um, going to film a hair tutorial for you. This has been requested, probably for over a year now from me, and I just haven't done it and usually it's because when I get out of the shower, I get out of the shower and I do all my hair first before I do it make makeup. So, usually I don't want to film videos when I don't have makeup on. Oh, this lighting is really awful and I look completely washed out, but anyway, what I want to do for you today is show you exactly how I do my hair. My hair is very fine um, as you can see it's blonde. It'S very fine. It'S um color treated, it's bleached, and so my haircut, you know works for me on my face. I have a heart-shaped face, I'm kind of crazy when it comes to haircuts and and what's flattering to a heart-shaped face. So that's why I went with like a chin length bob a few years ago and why I pretty much stick to it, because it is apparently one of the more flattering um cuts for my face. So this is what my hair looks like when I get out of the water um, so it's just wet still and I'm going to be applying some stuff to it here before it draws it's actually drying pretty fast. I'M going to try to film this all in one take without a bunch of editing. So if you're hearing like screaming in the background or yelling it's it's my kids, that's just that that's life, so I'm so I get out of the shower and I'm towel drying. My hair and the first thing I'm going to want to put in my hair, is like a root or volume lifting spray and I usually have been using the L'Oreal Paris boost it blow out heat spray, and it looks like that, but I just ran out. So I'm going to be using John Frieda's luxurious volume, visibly full touchably soft butter blow dry lotion spray and that's what that looks like so I'll, be using that, and so I just pick up my hair and spray it all over at my roots, because volume is An issue for me: I have very fine flat lifeless hair yeah. So that's what that looks like and then the next thing I'm going to use is TJ's Bed Head small talk and it is a thickening lotion. So this the small talk by Bed Head, is what I'm going to use that shows up backwards, um if it doesn't sorry, but that's what I'm going to use - and I just use a little bit of it - probably this much because it is pretty second, I don't Want my hair to get weighed down, so I just kind of put that all through my hair a little over and then the last thing I'm going to use before my blow-dry. My hair is the TG Bed Head after-party, and this is a smoothing cream for silky shiny, healthy, looking hair, it's also kind of like a heat protectant, and it's really helps the condition of my hair. So I just use one pump rub it all around. I flip my hair over and just kind of put it through my ends. I don't put a lot of my roots or anything like that, because it can get kind of heavy, so kind of just put it off through my roots or might not my roots. My end, sorry, and that really helps the condition of my hair when I am torture it with heat and all kind of stuff. Next, I'm going to take just a regular paddle brush and I'm going to brush my hair forward like this and then brush this back part back so pretty much the top half and every four words I kind of this interesting thing going on right here: okay, so The next thing I'm going to do is blow dry. My hair, with a round brush, surround rush like this big sort of hair all over and it's disgusting, but it's the round brush and I'm going to blow dry. My hair, like so I brushed it off to the side to do this side more around Murphy kind of places where I wanted to go. Blow-Drying the opposite directly will help you, but road ride a lot. This way officer right. Okay, so that's pretty much it! I'M sorry I've just realized that I filmed the whole first part of the video of the other way. I usually never film with my iPhone, but I'm sorry for that. So that's pretty much how it ends up. You can see up a little bit of like some flyaway pieces and stuff like that, so I'm going to be using some other products in my hair as well, but my stylist is amazing and because she has cut my hair and textured it and you know the Way she cut it. I could pretty much just be done. I could just you know kind of walk out like this, and if I want my hair, nice and flowy, I could just leave it alone. I guess this is what the back um looks like and a lot of times. I will take a flatiron because sometimes it gets a little like PC back here and I will Flatiron this all back. But I do like more of like a little bit of a bump up here and a little bit more volume, and then I have to spray. The heck out of my hair, I just have to UM my hair, is so fine and fly away that it just goes everywhere and I need it in place like. I don't want to be doing this all day long. So I do use hair spray and I love hair spray. So if you hate it, I'm sorry so pretty much. My secret weapon for umm, some nice foam in your hair and lift to your roots, is by big sexy big nought-60, big sexy, big sexy hairs on Powder play so bright and yellow in here. So that's what that looks like and what this does is. This is a volumizing and texturizing powder and we just sprinkle a little bit at your roots where you want it and then it'll create it's to the left, and I will um I'll show you what I mean. Some people will sprinkle it in their hands. First, you can just put like a little bit your hand, rub your hands together and then rub it through your hair, but I actually like to just pick up where I want it and then I'll just kind of sprinkle a little bit at the roots. I don't know if you can see that and then we see it's already look, how it sticks out and then I take my fingers knees and just kind of like rub it into your scalp and you can feel it it's like gritty. I mean, if I didn't, lay it back down. Let me just show you like look what happens so it's kind of like back combing or you know, kind of teasing your hair in a bottle. So I've got that instant puff now and it's great, I love it. So it's like, I can't live without this stuff, so now I'll take like a back section and just kind of sprinkle, some on there and, like I said before, if I just lifted it at the roots and didn't move it look at what happens. So I just kind of play with it after that and get my pieces where I want them. Sometimes I do a little bit under here, because my hair gets so soft. I actually like that dirty gritty feeling to my hair, because then my hair will just it's. It'S better and it just lays better and that's if it's too soft, I can't stand it. That'S just how I am so. I usually just go around a couple different places and it's like a white powder too. But if you rub it in you won't like see it at words. You can kind of see right there, but if you um, if you rub in I'll show you like it just gives a great lift. You rub it in. You won't see it, and so I will do that. The back as well and it looks like a rat's nest, pretty much when I do this, but when you come in all out and when you comb it all out and smooth it all out, it doesn't look. It doesn't look bad but because it's an inverted bob and it's stacked in the back. I like a little bit of a and I like my bangs kind of, swept to the side. So that's pretty much like my secret lift weapon. I love it live without it. Big sexy hair powder plays my favorite. There are a couple other texturizing powders, which do the same thing, but this one is my favorite, then I finish off with my hairspray. I kind of spray my hair into play, sometimes I'll take a flat iron. It just kind of winged this pace out a little. I just kind of bend it out. A little bit just depends on my mood and sometimes a little bit these pieces too I'll do that, but for now um I use cheese helmet head and it's called helmet head for a reason. It'S extra firm hairspray and I don't like my hair to move. If I get my hair all done and I spend time on it and I get it into the position that I want it - I don't want it to move so um pretty much you get it. How I want it and then just spray it into place. So um, I don't you spray the heck out of my hair, I'm not afraid of hairspray. You shouldn't be either so that's that's it um. Usually I'll do my hair in the other bathroom. So I can see the back of my head because I'm not sure quite what's going on back there. Sometimes I have a Catholic right here and it'll split, but usually um. I just kind of smooth all this back and spray it and it does what I want. I really don't know it looks like right now. I could probably grab a mirror, though. Let'S have to use a little compact see what happens so, okay, so yeah. So it's got a little pieces. It a little couple pieces that I need to fix from when I kind of teased it with the texturizing powder, but pretty much. It lays how I want it to you can kind of see the angle that goes down in the back and that's pretty much it. The only thing that I use sometimes is a like a shine spray, because sometimes I need you put a lot of powder and, like the hairspray in your hair, your hair will get a little bit dull. Looking so sometimes I'll give it a couple spritzes of some sunshine and then I'm pretty much set to go and it pretty much stays like that. So that's what I do to my hair, that's how I get it the way I like it. I hope this helps some of you if you have any questions at all, please drop them and I will try my best to answer them. Sometimes it's hard for me to answer. Get back on the comments on YouTube and most the time is just people saying weird things anyway, but I do loco through them. So if you have a genuine question about something - and I will link all the products below to you and kind of you know where you can get them all of my products are actually from Friday. That'S where I go, I think all of them. Yes, all of them, you can get it ready and that's right, not mine and of course you can get them other places as well. So this is me, though, picking up my hair all day long but um, but I love this cut. You can curl it too. You can curl it away from your face a little bit and some little like curls. It looks really nice, like I said you can take a flat iron and kind of flip out this piece a little, and sometimes these pieces will kind of flip out a little bit, so you've got some play with it. So it's not always the same, but it's me this is this. Is my hair? It'S my cut and I love it and it's pretty easy really. I mean I'm just so used to doing it. It'S just how it goes so I hope this was helpful and I hope the people that have been begging me to do tutorial um that you'll be happy with it and be pleased. So I hope you liked this video. I hope it was helpful and I'll see in the next video. Ok, guys bye,

Susanne Barbour: Best styling video I've ever used for this particular cut. Fast, easy, ready to go! Thanks!

Savannah Narayan: Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have the EXACT same hair that you have, down to the cowlick in the back that splits my hair sometimes. I finally cut my hair into a stacked bob because I have just come to terms that I do not have the hair for a long cut anymore :( but I'm excited to start my short hair styling journey now that I've seen this video, thank you again :)

yorkiemom368: I love your hair, Mandy. I had shoulder-length hair until yesterday. I wanted a different style so my stylist and I agreed on an inverted style. Your tutorial helped me tremendously and though I do not have the products you used. I will do the best I can with what I have until I get paid.

Elaine Cone: I was looking for a different hairstyle but - I have hair just like yours! Flat, thin, more manageable when dirty, so I am super excited to get my hair cut in an A-Line Bob and will give the products you suggested. If I can get my hair to look half as good as yours I will love it. Thanks for the video.

Cathy Hendrzak: Hi Mandy, I have super fine hair also and I love, love, love hairspray! (My husband does not!!) Growing my hair out to get the same haircut you have. It is so cute! Can't wait to try the products you recommend. Thank you!!

Katharina Spurlock: Hello Mandy! I am actually getting your same cut (hopefully) today! And was looking for how to get the volume as my hair is fine. I will definitely try the Big Sexy volume powder! Thanks so much for sharing your tips!! Great help!!

CeeCee Vaccaro: Dear Mandy, You did such an amazing job styling your Bob. I running out to the store very soon to buy the exact products you used. I especially love the Chi powder. I can't wait to use it. I wear a stacked Bob and I absolutely love it. However, I have wavy hair that always looks to textured. So its hard to get straight and keep straight. Beachy would be very easy for me to do. Can you recommend some products for me so I can achieve a full, straighter, soft, lifted, etc, Bob? Also, can you please tell me how to blow out my waves to get what. I want? I would so much appreciate the help. My sons are both getting married very soon, and I want them to see their 54 year young Mom looking the best possible. Please help! Respectfully, CeeCee

Shannon Pitts: Thanks so much for your tutorials! I'm not much of an expert on styling my hair, and your videos have helped so much!

Kerri Parr: Thankyou so much for this tuturial it's the best one I've watched and I've watched lots. I got my hair cut into an angled bob a couple of weeks ago and been trying different ways to style it. It's been driving me mad trying to get the volume. This tuturial is going to totally change my hair so thankyou once again for posting this. Kerri

Sarah Sage: Thanks for this video!  I have the same cut, and same hair texture (fine, thin, whispy).  I have most of these products already but have had only the vaguest idea of how to apply them, lol.  Hopefully my attempt at styling today will be successful after watching you.

Just Me: Thank you so much! This was very helpful. I just got my first short hair cut and this video is just what I needed. You are beautiful and I love your hair!

Nikki Roen: First off your adorable....Great tutorial. I have almost the exact cut and the same fine hair as you do, so I also need to use a lot of product and hairspray. This was very helpful, thank you. :)   Please make a video on how you wear it curly as you mentioned in this video. I would love to try it.

Brittany Henry: I absolutely love this hair style. I wish I could pull it off like you can!

heather1879: This is exactly how my hair is cut and how I style it. I didn't know Big Sexy made a texturizing powder. I use Redkin but I think I will try this one instead. Great tutorial!

Elizabeth Ripley: I cannot thank you enough for your tutorial on styling a bob with fine hair. I have used all kinds of volumizers, & my hair looks great when it's done being blow dried, but as time goes on, it gets flatter & flatter. I get so frustrated. Blowing it dry like you do & using the Powder Play has solved my issues with my hair finally! I am so grateful!

Ronda Fogt: Love the tips! Can't wait to try it.

Yokie Miller: FYI - I've always blow dryed my hair standing up, bending over so my hair is upside down...it gives a lot of volume very quickly, flip up before dry and do the round brush.

Nancy Bateson: Thanks for your video!  I have been frustrated because I can't get the volume in the back of my head to match the front of my head.  My boy's use the powder and I never thought about using it.  I am excited to style my hair tomorrow!  Going shopping tonight to get the other products that you recommended.  Thanks for sharing!

hoolagirl57ishot: Youre so pretty i love your bob! although you could stack your back a little higher, what are your thoughts?? Would love a hair update maybe you could answer a few questions? :D

Jane B: I have that cut now. I have thick yet very fine hair. I need to find the powder. I use those products but haven't noticed the powder before, then again I wasn't looking for it. My daughter laughs at the amount of hairspray I use. I step into the shower to keep it from getting all over the bathroom. I've used the Helmet Head and had to slack off because just combing through it broke off a lot of hair and I don't shampoo every day anymore.  I'm using Nexus Comb through now along with a little serious spray on the back and sides to keep it in place. Good to see a younger woman who enjoys the benefits of hairspray too LOL.
