What is up you guys, it's anna welcome to my channel or welcome back to my channel. I actually forgot to film an intro when i was doing my main hair tutorial. So here i am filming an intro for you, i'm going to show you how i do my shag, which i'm sort of halfway supporting right. Now it's going to look even cuter in my tutorial. So don't worry, yeah just want to say that hi hello, thanks for clicking on this video and let's get started okay. This is where we're gon na begin with the hair journey. So what i did today is i showered i let it air dry, and this is what we have to work with, as you can tell like it's, it's very different. Also super easy. I don't know if i already said this, but i am by no means hair expert. So let's get started with some hair for now we're going to deal with my hair and not the bangs, so we're going to pin them up to make sure they don't get on the way. There'S two ways to go about it: one is you can do your classic loose curls with a curling iron, i like to use a one and a half inch curling, or is it one and a quarter damn it? I like to use a one and a quarter, inch curling iron and do very, very loose waves. Today, i'm going to show you the easiest way to do it, which is doing those little beach waves with a flat iron, and i think it makes it look a lot more edgier, my favorite, if you watch any of my styling videos, you know i had this Flat iron from dry bar for years um - and i love it - it's one of the best flat irons. I'Ve ever had i'm actually gon na leave in the description box down below which flat iron and curling iron, i own in case you're, looking for one, if not totally cool but yeah. This one from dry bar is amazing. Super important to protect your hair from any heat every time, you're going to use any flat iron squirrel, earrings, etc. I like this one from jisoo. I think that's how you pronounce it. It was gifted. I really really love it. I'M sure there's a ton at the drugstore as well, that are pretty affordable, so just spray, your heat, protectant and now we're going to section our hair. So we can do the actual styling and we're going to start with a little beach waist with a flat iron. I'M sure you probably know how to do this. I figure, like everyone, has made a video about that. I'M gon na go ahead and do the bottom layers and myself and speed through it, so that once i get to the top layers, you can easily see what i'm doing. I feel like it's hard to explain on the bottom, so be right back and i'll teach you how to do these ways. Does anybody else hold their hair with their mouth while they're doing it? I don't know why, like i never thought much about it until i saw a video from kathleenlights and i saw her do it. If you do that too, let me know, because i don't know i've always done that and i never realized. It was a thing until i saw someone else doing it: okay, so beach waves, so you're gon na grab your flat iron and you're gon na start kind of like curving it to opposite sides. I like to start at the kind of like close to the root and go in and then out and then in and then out. It really also depends on your hair length, like i can't do many rounds of it because i run out of hair, but i'm going to show you so you're going to grab it, and you also want to go through it pretty fast as well. You don't want to stay too long on the same thing, because it kind of makes it more intense, and this is definitely supposed to be more of like a subtle wave. Look so watch me. Do this, i'm gon na grab it and go in out in out and there you go. It'S a little super easy beach wave. Let me go in out in out. You ready we're gon na go in out in out and there you go. It'S kind of a little actually a little bit too loose, so i'm going to go over it again, so yeah we're kind of almost done with the hair. I told you. It was literally the fastest thing ever so i'm going to pull more hair out from here. The way i got my hair cut for the shack, i got a little pieces on the side, as you can tell, are a little bit shorter. I just don't turn it too much because since it's like short hairs, you don't want it to look too crazy. So i do it really really softly and very quick just like that boom and then make sure the ends are straight on these pieces. We are down to the last layer. So, as i get to this last, one, which is what's gon na, be on the very top of your hair, i like to make the turns a little bit more strong that way it's more pronounced and you can see the wave a little bit more. I like to be soft on all of these bottom layers, but the one like i said this one. I want it to be a little more pronounced, so i can look cuter, so i'm gon na go actually into smaller sections. What you're gon na do basically is twist it even more like be very dramatic about the direction that you're twisting. So, for example, i'm going like all the way in and then all the way out all the way in and out, and that is how you get a more pronounced wave. It kind of looks like we're done, curling it. I'M just gon na go over the ends. A little bit more to make sure they're all even perfect, and that is it as far as heat styling and we're not going to need her anymore from now on. All you're going to need is a blow dryer and a lot of product for the bangs. This is actually the thing that takes kind of the longest to style. What we're going to need to do now is put away kind of like the rest of your hair, except your bangs, because we are going to have to get our bangs wet. What i'm gon na do basically is just go to the sink or, if you have like a spray bottle, just like spray in your bangs and make sure they're wet all the way from the root. Okay. I know it looks super funny right now, cute huh. Oh, my lord, what we're gon na do now is use a blow dryer and any brush. I'M just going to use this tiny one. It really doesn't matter we're just i'm going to show you how to blow dry them so that they get um kind of like cool okay. I don't know how to explain it. I suck at this. I told you i'm no hair professional, but let me grab my blow dryer. What i'm going to do right now is dry them not completely. I would say, like three quarters dry, i kind of want the ends to be a tiny bit wet, because that's how we're going to see like we're going to curl a little bit of the bottoms and style it we're actually just kind of focusing on their roots. For this, so we're going to blow dry it this way and make sure you point out your roots, not at the bottom you're going to blow it this way and once you're done you're going to switch and blow this way. What this technique is gon na do is give you the look of the curtain bangs that there's kind of like no part in your bangs and they kind of blend very seamlessly. So i'm gon na do that. Now that your bangs are blow dry, the ends just need them to be ever so slightly damp. So now comes the fun part, which is a part that took me forever to figure out how to style. Bangs have a little bit of a twist a little bit of a curl, but i found that works for me is any styling cream. I don't even know what these are called. This is actually my husband's. I stole it from him, but it's like a styling paste. This one says: hi hold low shine. I am just honestly lucky that he had this, because this is exactly what i needed, so i'm gon na grab a tiny bit and what i'm going to do is get it all over my fingers and your thumbs as well. Now that it's a little bit tacky you're gon na grab it and put it on your bangs and sort of like start twisting them like this, and then sometimes you got ta brush it again and do it again you just twist them there. You go we're getting somewhere. You start twisting. I like to leave some in the middle kind of just like straight. So maybe, like you see that piece right there we're not doing much with it, and you just got to keep twisting like that. I'M actually going to use a little bit more of that, because it's not really holding my hair is pretty straight and doesn't really want to bend because i actually have a straightening treatment on my hair. My natural hair is curly, surprised, i'm having a little bit of a harder time trying to get it to curl because again the treatment, but i'm sure your hair is natural, so natural hair will hold. I just need to go the little extra mile. You know. Don'T worry too much about what it looks like just make sure you're focusing on twisting the ends of your hair, like that, that's the secret to the shack to twist. I didn't know this until i got my hair cut um, so i'm gon na let it dry for a little bit. I also this is the point where i like to take down the rest of my hair, so i can see it all together because obviously it looks a lot different like wow, so now styling, you definitely don't need to go and buy every single thing that i'm Gon na show you this is things that i like to use. I don't want you to think that it means you have to go and buy every single one to get this style honestly work with whatever you have. One thing that i do love - and this is something that i bought the day that i got my haircut - is this r and ko dry shampoo paste. This is a one product. I will push on you. I bought this with my own money. It'S exactly what it says: it is it's a dry, shampoo paste and if you have bangs, you know those suckers get greasy. This stuff is amazing at absorbing oil, on your bangs, just rub it in your fingers and it's gon na get a little bit dry. A little bit grainy and i'm gon na do the same thing. Little twisty thing. There also give it like a little bit of volume on the root. Ah, it looks so pretty you guys, i'm having a great hair day today and now for the rest of the products. I have a ton of them. First thing i'm gon na do is grab this you've seen me probably use this a billion times by now. It'S my number one hair product dry bar triple sec. This is texturizing amplifier and volume. It does basically everything you need in one and for this guy, the thing with the shag is you want to sort of focus all of their volume on their roots. I'M just gon na grab and place in random sections of my hair, and if you were to have a little greasy day, let's say it was your second day here. This also has dry shampoo in it, so it absorbs oil. I like to apply it on my bangs as well to make sure they get a lot of volume. Just hold it up like this and then spray kind of holds it there for you, my two favorite things we're gon na. Do this one from bumble and bumble, i love this guy. So much is there liquid wax and finishing spray. So what this is going to do is give you that little gritty pc, look that i love! Love love love this one, even if you're not going for the shack any like curly loose. Wave. Vibe goes amazing with this with this one, you have to be careful because it's a liquid wax and a little bit goes a long way. It can look very, very greasy really fast, so i like to spray it pretty far away and then, as soon as you spray crunch, it like that and give it that gritty texture another way to use it as well. Is you can spray it on your fingertips? It'S just a little cold. I don't like doing that too much and then with that you just like crunch it around your hair. That'S also another way to do it and the last tip you guessed it more volume. It'S all about the volume here with the shag. In case you haven't noticed, this is dry bars, southern belle volume boosting powder, so it is literally a powder i'll. Do it for you and what it does is it gives volume. But this one really makes your hair stay up all day and it doesn't feel clean. I'M not gon na lie when you put it on it feels texture. It feels like there's something in it like powder, but it's gon na make it stay off. So for this one i grab the very very root, and i go like that. So, whenever styling a shag, you basically just want to keep pushing the root up like this, even throughout the day i like to just like do this and obviously do a little twisty on the bangs, and that is it. I can't believe this. I just styled. My first shag on youtube, so here we are there, you have it. That is the secret of how to style a shack. Well, i hope this video was helpful. That is all i have to show you. Thank you. So much for watching i'll see you guys in my next video bye
