Easy Beach Waves For Short Hair | My Favorite Hairstyle

Hey guys Jocelyn McClellan here with Fit Mission Makeup., And I'm going to bring to you today how I curl my hair, my very favorite way.. Now you might be asking how you should curl your short hair and we are all different, but this is how I do it and I hope you enjoy. So here we go. On your mark - get set go. JK.. So I wanted to go through this. How I curl my hair these days because it has changed versus some of the ones I used to do., But not to mention. I want to just do a fun beach wave., But I'm going to just do more of curling and just go with it through.. Actually, I want to do this first., I'm going to dry shampoo, my hair first, because ... Kay tell me if you're like this comment below ..., I don't know if my hair is weird or what, but if I go to bed with wet hair or if I Don'T curl it immediately after washing my hair, I feel like it is a grease ball. The next morning. I feel gross, but look at the volume that adding just that dry shampoo to your hair, does., Okay - and I also want to know this: do you have a dry shampoo? You swear by Because that's a big step, too. Everybody's hair is just so different, but put in the comments the dry shampoo that you swear by the one that you think is the Holy Grail of all dry shampoos.. Let me know, because I want to know. All right, we're going to get this puppy rolling in here. And I'm just going to show you what I do to my hair.. So I am an affiliate for Launch Hair. But oh my gosh, have I found a hair wand of theirs that I absolutely love.. So I don't know if you curl your hair or if you use a wand too, but this one is called the Le Cinq.. It'S a collection that they have and it's where you can take this off, take off that little .... Oh, I have it turned on. So it's not going to work, but you take off that little guy and you can plug in all different kind of the top parts of them.. I don't know., I just brain farted, my words, but I can have it be a smaller hair wand, a bigger, but the tapered wand is my absolute favorite. Kay. I love this one., So the tapered wand is going to give me different sizes of curls and sometimes I'll make it shorter, and sometimes I make it longer. But this is how I get a fun beach wave. And I don't leave it in there all very long.. Okay., Wait: it's not even heated up yet.. I don't leave it in there very long at all, but I take mine to about 390 degrees.. It will curl once it's heated, up. Almost there., Then I'm going to leave everything in for just a short short time.. Not very very long. Look at when I pull that it gives me a facelift., My eyeshadow's, all of a sudden raising up, as if gravity is not pulling it down., But see how fun that curl is. And then I'm going to go around. And I'm not going To be picky with my curls., You can keep it bigger., You can have it be smaller. See. I don't want everything curling, up. Oops.. I don't want everything curling up really tight, so I'm just going to go around and do this and make some really fun beach. Waves. One other thing: that's different about this one too. Okay., So I want to point out a couple of things.. So when I'm trying to have a really sleek awesome, curl look I am going to brush this out so that when I go and do everything it is just really put together nicely. And just trying to keep that curl tight and just perfect right And I'm going To hold it in there a little bit longer., I'm not really caring on this one. So I am going to make sure, though, that when I go through these since I'm not brushing them before one, it saves time, but two that's what's going to help it to get that little messy. Look just a bit more is by not brushing it out.. So again, we're not going for perfection. We're just going for fun.. This is one of my very favorite wands.. You probably have seen me use it in tutorials numerous times, because every Thursday on Facebook, I do a tutorial., And I've probably showed you. This exact look before. And if you haven't seen anything from me before, you can comment that too, if you're new to finding my channel or for my videos or if you don't follow me on social media, because I like to know how we can be connected too.. But if you have not ever seen me use this hair tool, I love it.. It is by far my very favorite hair tool. I'Ve ever used. Sorry.. I love the wand.. I love how it's two different sizes.. It seriously is my number one go-to across the board. Before I blow dry, my hair, I definitely put product in my hair.. I have tutorials and videos that I can pop in as well that I've shown how I blow dry, my hair. But product for me putting product in your hair. Before you blow dry is huge.. When people say, I can't get a curl and I say ``: Do you put product in your hair ?'' a lot of times they say no. And when you don't put product in your hair, you miss out on getting that texture and that volume that you're looking For. So again know with this look: I'm not trying to get those tight curls, which this wand is totally capable of doing, but that's not what we're going for today.. So just a little bit. And I just love with having this taper., It's just different. Notice. The wrap is different on it. And I love it so much. All right.. So one thing that I want to point out is: did you notice how ...? Well, I don't know if you did notice, but I flipped hands and I traded my hands. So you'll see that some people they keep their curls low and they're always building in here, but with having short hair - and I don't know, I really like volume on the Top. I mean I feel like if I had longer hair, they don't do so much volume on top, but they really make this voluminous all right in here.. But I want to get that volume on top, so I will curl mine so that my volume is close to the root., But in the front I am going to keep it down lower.. So in the back, though, I always want to build this up and I always want to go back, so I am going to get it to the root, which means the side that I'm working on. I have the hair wand in the other hand., So my curling wand is not going to be on this side. When you have people keeping it low, they're going to come in like so, but where we're trying to get more volume.. That'S why I go around to the other side is so that I can get the volume closer to the root and that's going to be the difference.. So remember. If you want volume to the root you're going to work with your wand on the opposite side of the hand that is holding it., If you don't want volume at the root you're going to work with your hair at the same side of what you want on There. Okay, So that's going to be the difference. All right! Let me finish this side out and then we'll move on to the other side. Kay.. So in this front piece, I think this is where I want my part to go.. I'M going to do this piece. A little further down here., So I'm still keeping it on the opposite. Side., That's totally fine, but I'm going to keep it further down., And I want this curl to be a good curl. So I'm going to hold it a little bit longer, especially because I'm not going to the root.. So all it's volume just needs to be right, there. Okay, All right., And I'm going to do it on this side as well. So to the root.. I need my cord to be longer.. My plug is over there. And it's in my face.. I hope you guys enjoy.. So just a couple other curls left over. Looks like I got a straggler in there, but that's okay.. I love using hair wands.. The curling iron is going to give you a flatter curl. The wrap is going to be a lot flatter. And I love the curl that a wand can give you., And so I've really been enjoying using wands. You'll see in this video that I have I'll post it right above me in the note section, but you'll see That this curl ... or that I used to get from a curling iron is a lot different than the kind of curls I get now. And that's all because this is a rope wrap the other one is more like a flat wrap.. Oh, I didn't do that. Right. Okay., So I didn't go low. Like I wanted to. I saw that my boys were coming in and the noise was about to go high., And so I was not thinking.. So I'm going to try and hold this down while it's still nice and hot. Noise is about to happen.. Boys are walking: in., Hey, dude., Just filming a video looking at a camera, nothing going on here., So I can just flat iron that right, there. We'll see how it goes in the end. Okay.. I have all my curls done.. I have this oil.. I love it.. This is a product that I love.. It'S called Marula Oil., It's from Launch too. Use whatever you want, but do you have a product that you like to pull your curls out with? Because I like to put something on my hands, because if your hands ever get dry from washing them and whatnot, which everybody's washing their hands, these days. Right, But look at the fun beach wave that turns into.. It'S so good because we're making the curls not all so perfect. Everything isn't so symmetric.. It'S just making these really fun loose beach wave curls.. I love it. Kind of annoyed. What I did on this side, so I think I'm going to get a flat iron and plug in a flat iron and just kind of smooth those out.. So one second., All right., Oh yes., Okay. Pomade., Get yourself a solid pomade.. If you have a pomade again that you love comment that below so that you can help other people finding killer, awesome, hair products that they will love, because a nice pomade for having short hair is key., It's winner, winner, chicken dinner., So good.. Now I got to look at my mirror: here. We're set. Couple. Things might be out of whack, but I think we're good.. I think we're all good.. Okay, you guys.. There is such a fun beach, wave. They're, not tight curls.. It'S just a really fun loose curl beach wave that I did with this tapered wand., Absolutely love it.! You can try anything., You can curl your hair. However, you want. I'm going to turn this heat off and then I'm going to talk to you about a couple of different things., All right.. So one thing that we learned is if you're trying to learn how to get volumized curls again using the curls up higher at the root is always going to help you out there. If you're trying to figure out to get a more beach wave. Curls, just don't hold it in as long.. You could also use a bigger hair, curling wand, but you can use a small wand too, just not holding on as long and it will do such a good job. And then what was something else that I covered. Oh, if you're, trying to get more curl more texture, make sure that you're using hair products before you blow dry your hair, because that's going to make a difference for your hair too., You guys..
