This is a tutorial on how to do box braids on straight hair textures and I'm using five packs of the rastafari Rapunzel braiding hair. You can use any braiding hair. That is 100 % Kanekalon, because his hair so long, I cut it in half, and this technique here is called feathering, and this is to ensure that the ends of the hair are not extremely blunt. So you want to pull at the ends of the hair to make it uneven at the bottom. This is my absolute favorite product to use when I'm doing box braids on any hair texture, it's an extremely thick edge control, which makes it great for straight hair. As a lot of people have a problem with their brains flipping what this product does is, it makes my hair tacky so that you have a better grip and it doesn't slip at the beginning. So I use it when I'm parting, my hair, to make sure my parts are really really straight and I also use it on Instagram before I do my braids wait. I would really like to get box braids like this, but then I feel like people get mad about it and I don't want to offend anybody. I understand when people say "oh this is culturally significant " & i understand why some people say " other races are always trying to copy black culture" but for me personally i really do think this is beautiful as are other "black" hairstyles . I just really dont like when people try to mix race into it . Yes , we know these hair styles are mainly worn by "African American " women but just because someone from another race admires the hair style i dont think they are trying to take away from the culture . The world we live in today is so hateful & based on race . To me race is just something we were born into .. the type of food we eat , the language we speak , our different views .. iwish people would spend less time so focused on race & more time focuing on loving each other . It's a hair style the title is directed towards those who require an adaption from the traditional use. It doesnt discredit its origin or dictate a race it best suited to, braids have been created for thousand of years. They where created to tame hair and still is a highly effective method. I have light skin so not many people believe that I’m black. I used to get picked on by other black girls because I wasn’t “dark enough” to be considered black(dead ass). But I always knew I was black and I loved it and my father(who is black) always told me to be proud of who I was that I was still black and no one can change that.
