Hey y'all, so by now I've been having my braids for about a month now and I am totally over them. As you can see, my scalp is on 100 and I'm just ready to wash my Scout. So let's just get it started, so I've removed. Most of my braids, which took four and a half super long hours, so the first thing that I'm going to do is cut the ends of my braids off and from there I just begin unbraided making sure to remove any jewels in my braids along the way. So y'all thought I was exaggerating about being super ready to take these out. Look at that scalp! Look at that build up y'all, oh my god, so to remove the build-up, I'm going to take my wet brush and brush each section from the ends to the roots. This is also going to be removing any shed hair that you have shed along the time period that you have to brave another way I like to unbraid the hair is by using a rat tail comb. In my opinion, this speeds things up a bit and for some reason it's slightly satisfying. I just put the end of the comb through the braid and opsal it down and it just unraveled. Then I continued on braiding, with my hands up and to the very root of the hair, and then I just slide the braiding hair right off. Repeating the previous steps. I initially use my wet brush from the ends to the roots to remove the build-up, and then I take a comb like a fine-tooth comb and I really getting through the buildup, I'm going to section off my hair and gently brush through to ensure that there's no More tangles and to release more shed hair and build up before wetting it. If you wet it, while you have the build up, you are asking for a world of trouble. I promise you you're going to regret it, and so that's why I really put emphasis on removing the build-up and the shed hair before you actually get into the shampoo process. Note that it's very normal to have a lot of shed hair after a protective style. Your hair has been sitting in a protective style for four weeks now and you're, not releasing that shed hair from manipulation, so you're going to get that shed hair and whenever you take the braids out so I'll, be using Shea moistures a hobo oil and you clip A butter braid up and take down detangler for the first time, and this is going to help soften and prime my hair for shampooing and it's going to add something extra lift to my hair to remove the knots in the build up. So let me put y'all on real quick. This stuff is so bomb it's crazy, moisturizing and super slippery. This is my first time using it and I honestly can say that I cannot live without it after using it just once. I highly recommend it. If you have braids so here's the more shed hair from the detangling process and I'm feeling better already y'all, okay, lightheaded literally now, let's move on to cleansing, so I'm going to wet my hair thoroughly and go wash my hair. So here I'm using the tea jenrcg. I in a triple moisture conditioner, I'm going to apply that to my hair, starting from the ends on up and I'm going to be very generous while applying this. I also like to co wash at my root to loosen up that buildup on my scalp and then I proceed with detangling from the ends on up with a wide tooth comb. Now I'm going to rinse with warm water and shampoo with uncle Funky's daughter's squeaky, which is a deep cleaning shampoo that soothes dry itchy scalp, which I need and has a very minty invigorating, feel to it. I love this shampoo because it makes my scalp feel really really clean, but it does not make the hair feel dry and to clean. If you know what I mean so I'll rinse that out really well and proceed with deep conditioning. Now I'm using one of my absolute favorite, deep conditioners, which is Shea moistures, manuka, honey and mas furrow, all intensive hydration hair masks. Can they make that name of little char? So I'm going to apply that very generously to the hair, focusing mainly on the end and then I'm going to finger to tangle that through my hair. So I clip it up and let it sit for about 10 minutes or so so after 10 minutes. My hair is super soft and moisturized, and I'm going to rinse well with cool water, to seal the cuticle of my hair and kaboom voila, I'm so excited and happy to finally have my curls back and poppin y'all y'all have no idea. So thanks so much for watching. I hope you found this helpful, don't forget to subscribe to my channel and I will see you guys in the next video peace

Shontell Edwards: Oh geez. Due to my hair texture, I can't comb thru dry hair When I took my braids out, I had to spray it with a little water then use a slippery moisturizing cheap conditioner. It worked like a charm. I literally had to soak my hair in conditioner to comb thru all my knots and detangle
Abrianna O.: Omg, the build up is the *worst* part! .
1FrolishiousBaby: I love this video and the one on maintaining them because I was thinking of teaching myself to do box braids for the winter but the build up I had last time was awful. Mostly because I didn't maintain them very well and was still using nasty greased in my hair before I went to the curly girl method. This makes me feel better about trying them again. Thanks
