Simple Braided Hairstyles - Snake Braid Updo

Hey guys, it's Lexie today, I'm going to be doing a hair tutorial on the snake braid. This is a really simple hairstyle that you can do and i'll take you absolutely no time at all, but i actually have a funny story behind this hairstyle. I was getting ready to cheer for the first two guys, basketball game and they were all asking me. Oh my gosh, how did you do your hair? Did you breed it? Did you leave? It is a clip and oh my gosh. It made me laugh. So I really wanted to share it with you guys. I thought you guys would enjoy it. So, let's get started so for this. Hairstyle you'll need bobby pins, hairspray and a teasing comb. So, first off you're, going to start by teasing your hair you're, going to take a section right here right where your bangs NC my bangs in here, and I'm going to take a section probably about this thick and I'm going to tease it so you're going to Take your comb and just pull down next you're, going to hairspray to hold the volume and tease a little more like so this will get it really big. Now you just kind of want to smooth the top here. So that way, there's no bumps or anything and repeat that for two more sections. So now that you're finished with that you're going to kind of have this big fall back your head and you're, going to take hair from the side and kind of just tease it a little bit to get that full up. Do you do it on this side too? Now, even if you take a little bit too much, don't worry about it. It'S not a big deal because you're going to need a section to go back around the updo, but if you take too much, you can just take the hair and comb out what you've teased. It'S really easy and you want to make sure it's nice and smooth on top how high you want it, because if it's not, then you're going to have to do that, while you have your two braids and it's kind of difficult, i'm using this comb. This is a brush is actually teething, smoother brush. I found this. I think it like christmas tree shop, but i'm sure you can find it at Sally's or any store that carries brushes, but it's a really good brush to smooth over the hair with. So you do that and then you're going to take section of hair right above your ear, and if you want hairs hanging down here, you can leave it or you can pull them all back. I'M just going to leave a little one and you will braid your hair as if you are doing a normal braid. Now that you've almost reached the end like I have you're going to leave a little bit because you don't want it to go all the way around your head. That'S gon na be too long, so you're going to take the middle piece and hold it like this and then take the other two pieces on the side. Two other pieces: there's the tube and there's the center and I'm holding the setter one with my right hand and I'm holding the two other ones with my left hand. Now I'm going to hold this one see if I go like this and I'm going to hold and push all the way up like that, and then you can kind of fan it out to how long you want it I'm going to stay. Probably there is about good for me and then you're going to take bobby pins and you're going to want to make sure that these hairs right here I kind of down a little bit. It'S not so big go ahead and bobby pin and you're going to bobby, pin the other side you're going to cross them like so like that, so now, you're going to do the same to the other side. So we're going to take section you want about the same length as the other section it off in 23 and braid. Ok. So now I've almost reached the end once again and I'm going to take the two outsides and hold them to one side and then take the one in the middle and hold it and push yep like so, and sometimes like the end here. Doesn'T ghost you can just kind of help it a little that you want it to be the about same length as the one on the other side? If it's not, it's, ok, not a big deal, so your bobby pin again put one in and put the other one you're going to want to crisscross them like so now. The next step is you're going to want to look at the back of your hair and I'll show you what it looks like right now for me. It um it looks like kind of kind of weird. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to bobby pin. So it looks like enough to so I'm going to kind of twist it a little bit just a little and push up and put a bobby pin in like so and then I'm going to take another bobby pin and I'm going to crisscross it like so so It should look like that right there. Now. I call a third one in just in case, and I kind of put it down - I like to put it in between where they crisscross, so it kind of holds them now, as you can tell you see right in here, how it's a little little lopsided, you Can take the end of a comb and kind of pull it out a little if there's little hairs sticking out or you don't like how something sitting you can just add more bobby pins, i have used five bobby pins before i've used ten bobby pins 1215 bobby Pins on this hairstyle, so it just kind of depends upon how your hair is working that day.
