Not less box braids or traditional box braids, which one is better, let's find out hi there beautiful person welcome back to my channel and if you are new, a very special welcome to you on this channel. I talk entirely about natural hair care, so if that is something you are interested in, go down below and subscribe to this channel and hit the bell as well, so you get notified every single time. I post a new video. You don't want to miss it today. I'M going to compare the traditional box braids and the knotless box braids, and i'm going to let you decide which one you think is better. So when you watch this video to the end, make sure that you drop a comment stay in which one you prefer. I'M going to be comparing them on seven bases which covers everything you're going to experience from the time of installation to the time of takedown. So, let's get started in terms of installation time i feel like it takes not less braids a longer time to be installed because for traditional box braids, all the braiding hair that you need for one braid is added or at the beginning of the braid, and then All you have to do is just braid down and keep repeating that process, but for not less box braids. You have to add the braiding hair step by step as you go per braid, so those extra 5 to 10 seconds that it takes to be adding the braiding hair, ultimately lengthens the installation time so yeah. If you are getting knotless box, braids get ready for your butt to be glued to that chair for a very long time, although they are both box braids and we all know that braids take a long time to install normally, but for not less box braids. It takes a little longer in terms of weights. Traditional box braids weigh more than not less braids, because they require way more braiding hair than not less braids. I have not less braids right now and i used about one and a half packs of braiding hair to achieve this style. But if i were going for traditional box braids and i've had to get like three packs at least so um traditional box braids are way way heavier and it affects the styling as well. Because if i wanted to put my knotless braids in a bun, i would effortlessly put it in a bun, but for traditional box braids. First of all, you struggle because they are fatter. They are heavier than not less box braids and by the time you put them in the bun, it becomes like another head on top of your head, so like traditional box, braids yeah, definitely heavier than not less box. Braids i'd say for not less box braids. There is absolutely like zero tension on your scalp, no tension whatsoever from the very moment that you get them in. You can roll them up in a bun and go to bed like no tension whatsoever. I have no less braids right now and i can testify that the same day that i had them in, i could flip them. I could burn them. I could just do anything. There was no tension on my scalp whatsoever, but for traditional box braids. I remember the last time that i did traditional box braids. I took painkillers to go to bed that night because it's just always so tight, no matter how much the hairstylist tries to make her grip loose so that you can't at least sleep that night. It always ends up being tight. I don't know what it is about those braids, but they always have tension, they always hurt, and because of that tension it makes the braids really kind of hard to style. If there is serious tension on your scalp, you can't exactly start pulling the hair in a bun or start pulling it back or you just have to leave it down. Let it hang, however, it is hanging just let it hang and stiffen your neck, so that bad things don't happen attention from traditional box braids, it's a whole situation, but for not less box braids. You can be absolutely sure that there is going to be zero tension on your scalp unless your hairdresser is like a very heartless monster and decides to yank your hair from your skull. Well change your hairstyles, so you haven't liked this video. Yet i see you, i see you, but it's okay, you're, probably enjoying this video a little too much, and then you forgot, i'm gon na give you time right now go down there go down there right now and like this video like this video for me, please In my opinion, whether or not they last actually depends on you, it is fact that not less braids get frizzy really really quickly if you've had them for two weeks it looks like you've had them a month, but the thing is once they get frizzy, it doesn't Get worse than that, it's you whenever you feel like taking it out. So if frizz is a really big issue for you, then i don't think you should go for knotless braids because they they always freeze up always. There is no pros and cons video that you will watch about knowledge braids, that they don't mention the fact that it freezes up really quickly but for traditional box braids. They don't freeze up as fast, so it looks like they last longer. But for someone like me that doesn't really care about frizz. I'Ve had my braids now for over a month and i'm pretty sure i can still carry it to six weeks, because frizz doesn't really bother me. So as they are frizzy it's how i am carrying them. I really don't mind. I really don't care so whether or not they last depends entirely on your preference. If you are a freeze, embracer like me, then they are going to last i'd say not less. Braids have higher maintenance, because the braids start with your natural hair and your hair is pretty much exposed in comparison to the traditional box braids, where your hair can be tucked into the braids. So for not less box braids, your hair is exposed, so you have to keep taking care of your hair, but then again when your hair is in a protective style, you are actually still supposed to be taking care of your hair so far, not less braids. Since your hair is very exposed, you have easy access to your hair to take care of your hair. You can easily moisturize your hair, wash your hair, wash your scalp, all your scalp. You know all that good stuff, because you have direct access to your scalp and to your hair, unlike traditional box braids, where your hair is tucked inside the braiding hair. So, in order to get to it, you have to just you know: do what you got to do and hope that all that moisture and everything else that you're doing to your hair gets to your hair through the braiding hair. When i say build up, i mean those little molds that form at the base of the braids. When it comes to knotless braids, you will hardly see those kind of molds at the bottom of the braids because, like i said before, the braid starts with your natural hair. So at the bottom of the braids is actually just your natural hair and if you don't get those type of molds, when you do regular mini braids or mini twists, then you are most likely not going to get them when you do not less braids, but for Traditional box braids, those modes are always always there. So whenever you are taking out your braids, you will always see those modes there and it turns to like another task to carefully loosen them so that you don't lose too much hair, no matter how much you try to avoid getting them. They are always there with traditional box braids, so you've had your braids, you have enjoyed them, you've taken a lot of pictures, and now it is time to take them down for knowledge braids. It takes a longer time to take them down, just as it takes a longer time to install them and for the same reason, you have to be removing the braiding hair that they added one by one. So it takes a longer period of time to take them down than traditional box braids bonus tip. If you are the kind of person that likes to reuse, braiding, hair um for not less braids, you can't you reuse the braiding hair, because for knotless braids, when you cut the braid and you are taking the braid down each piece of braiding hair that you remove, Is shorter than the other so, like you have braiding hair of different lengths and you can't really start sorting through all of that, but for traditional box braids when you cut the braid and you take it down, the braiding hair is shorter than before, but all the Pieces of braiding hair are relatively the same length. The only thing is that they will have a blonde end, which you can actually pick and reuse again. So if you are the type of person that wants to reuse the braiding hair, then you should probably go for traditional box braids. But if you don't mind throwing all this synthetic hair away, then knotless braids should be your gig. Now that we've compared the two comment down below which one you prefer and why personally, i prefer not less braids, and i talked all about that in my pros and cons of knotless braids video, which i'm going to link up here. So that's the end of this video guys make sure you give it a big thumbs up and subscribe to this channel for more videos like this i'll see you guys in the next video bye. So you

Tyesha Charles: I’ve been having traditional box braids and I don’t have a problem with it except for the tightness when you get them but it does last longer and it really did get my hair to grow but knotless a whole latta unnecessary maintenance to me

DPurple Palm: It's Traditional for me. My hair still grows and the look good longer. Yes, they are uncomfortable for about 2-3 days but after that, easy peasy. I'm sorry but Knotless just looks bad after a couple of weeks. That's too much sitting and too much money to go through that. THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO!

doll facee: I prefer knotless ! Looks more natural, hurts less and is quicker for me. My stylists takes less than four hours for medium knotless box braids :) and mine last at least 6 weeks because she slicks my edges down + I like a little frizz .

Zoie Kamille: Girl, I’m getting Knotless braids on Tuesday for the first time and this video made me feel less nervous. Although this is an older video, your braids look phenomenal! I’m hoping I look okay with mine lol, fingers crossed

Jessica T: Every time I get knotless , it looks too scalpy and thin. I like regular instead. After a couple days, it looks good

1Grayton: Knotless I've found to be less damaging upon take down and easier to pull up.

Kind_Regards: I prefer traditional box braids as it takes a shorter time to install & is easy for me to do on my own hair.

Felicity Eddy: Thank you so much for making this video. I’d go with the knot less braids considering that I’d have easier access for oiling my scalp and I’ll be able to sleep at night haha

Denise S: Hi beautiful, I'm getting my hair done next week and wasn't sure what ones to get. The last time I got my hair braided was in '96 whilst in Ghana! Long time ago I know I was getting weaves for years after the braids and then opted to wear my own hair because it grew long. I just asked the girls to braid my hair, don't know if they were boxed or knotless but I loved them! But now, simply for maintenance and the hassle of not having to do my own hair it's not easy! Some days I wear a head wrap because I can't be bothered so getting my hair done is a win win lol. I've been trying to find a video of which one is best..box braids or knotless and thank God I came across your channel. Not only are you stunning but you've also made me understand the differences of braids. I'm opting for knotless because my scalp is sensitive and I can remember one time I got my hair weaved and the stylist did the back at the base of my neck tight that I couldn't even bend my head then a bad rash appeared which then resulted in me having to take it out. They were only in for 2 days. I told her about it and she made all the excuses in the world, my husband wanted to go to the shop and smash it up because he could see the pain I was in and when he spoke to her she didn't want to know but I talked him out of it my hair tends to hold styles my weaves would last upto a year I can hear everyone gasping saying 'a year'! But I looked after it as if was my own hair and people actually thought it was my own hair and the older it got the more natural it looked!! But I know I'm not going to be that lucky with braids lol. But thanks for sharing this video you've helped me A LOT! Btw, where are you from? I'm half Ghanaian and half French and live in the London UK ❤

Thando Makhaza: Amazing video!! ❤️ I’ve never done knotless braids, and this video made me excited to try them!

Cassandra Barnett: First, thanks for this info, it was very helpful to me in making my decision to give knotless a try. I wore box braids all the time for years until they started breaking my hair off and thinning my sides to where I was almost bald. I think I'm going to try knotless and see how long I can make it last.

Quinnita Roberson: I've had traditional before, but I think I'm going to try the knotless this time around. Thank you for the tips.☺

Only Believe: the part about box braids when they’re too tight and you said to just let them hang with your neck stiff! Just got over that. Literally took one braids out in the back. It was getting bumps and I couldn’t take it anymore

IxlizzyxI: My daughters got knotless braids n lasted for 2 months. Didn't have any issues taking them down, it was actually really easy n fast. This August I will be getting knotless for the first time. I stop getting boxbraids because of the tension. It's been like 4 yrs I haven't had any braids. Now that they came out with knotless, I'm definitely gonna give it a try.

lickynicki: I know this video was made a bit longer back but I'm definitely going to try Knotless box braids. The traditional ones are so painful for me and I'm very tender headed I just want my head to be free ya know so I can sleep on the day I get them This video helped me alot though ill definitely try knotless box braids

uberhaute_naturalz: When I was doing box braids religiously, I never had a stiff neck or painful scalp because I dictate to my styler how to do them without giving it tension.

Bianca Regine: I’ve never liked braids on me because my scalp is sensitive and they always hurt my head lol I liked the look but could never do them and I didn’t like how thick they looked at the root because I like them looking natural. but I just did my own knotless braids and it’s the best thing I could’ve done lol ZERO tension and laying my head down on my pillow doesn’t feel like I have marbles pressing on my scalp lol I’m ready for the frizz because it’ll only look more natural. There are things you can do to tame it. W mouse and gel and tying down with a scarf. I also like that I can reach my scalp easier when it comes to scalp health and maintenance with knotless braids. Thanks for the video! Edit: for take down just cut just under where your hair ends lol I don’t think that’s much of a difference from traditionals

Rachelle Bañuelos: I just got knotless and it’s so natural (I used to also get box) but so far it feels better on my head

Niesha Hayes: Thank you so much for this! You get right to the point and have useful information.

Melissa Troy: Absolutely true knotless braids protect the hair better! Thanks for the video!

Doshie Dior: I love your personality and how you broke this down lol ! You’ve earned a subscribe from me for sure!!!

Cynthia Louissaint: Very informative video! I have tried knotless braids for the first time (installed only a few days ago) and already enjoying the pros. I brought a pain reliever to the appointment ready for the pain but to my surprise, it was absolutely not needed! Looking forward to this journey!

Kellie W.: I prefer traditional. I actually like the look of the bump at the top and my box braids are never tight. Something about hair looking freshly done.

Lauren Price: This was so informative and helpful! Thank you!!!

Isa Vega: Perfectly explained thank you ❤️

statementlips: This is a great, comprehensive video! Thank you!

Janiyah Green: I love knotless braids personally. Great video btw!

Keeping It real: Thanks that was very informative ! I’m getting knotless for the first day of school

Aleese Lightyear: Great info! I've never gotten knotless braids and you gave me all the info I needed! Thanks

NiNi88 Davis: I like traditional box braids. They usually cause pain at the first couple of days, but the next week they don't hurt.

Madelyn Agbor: I loved this video! Thank you! So helpful!

Alise Cooks: I do hair and honestly I prefer regular box braids. Knotless are very cute however as soon as your hair grows its going to be loose. They don't last no where near as long and If you get them in jumbo its really not going to last because the section of hair is big so as soon as you sweat or grow your hair its loose. Box braids are supposed to last so In my opinion I'm going with regular. But I do like how knotless doesn't have the bump but the bump doesn't bother me

Snookie SA: I've never gotten build up with normal braids....I did knotless braids on myself and it's so much easier to handle and I will be doing more knotless.

Ashanty Ortega: Thank youuso much research and the only video that ACTUALLY explained the differences was this one.

Terri Stewart: Thx for the video, I had reg braids & they pulled my hair out terribly, I was so sad, so I’m looking forward to trying knotless box braids.

Dose of O: Youre very funny! and this was very informative. I am getting knotless braids for the first time this weekend ✨

Clear Skinning: Awesome video! I’m going to get my first set of braids for school next year so I’m doing my research but I was wondering..when you said that it’ll frizz with Knotless braids, do you mean at the scalp or do the actual braids frizz?

Dana: I wanna try knotless because my hair grows too fast with regular boxbraids, and it’s usually only good for 3 weeks until the braiding hair is basically hanging on to my natural hair.

ゴンちゃんローラ Gon-chan Laura: You are hilarious and this was super informational! Thanks so much for the great video! ❤️

Happy Girl: I love the fullness of box braids, but I have fine hair and my edges do 100% better with knotless braids.

DaisiesandPandas: Recently got my braids done in Nigeria, I thank God I went for Knotless because that's the only reason I still have edges.

Cindy Ray: I really want to try the knotless braids. I've done the box braids knot in but I need less tension on my scalp. So thanks for this. I'll prepare for the long process time

PollyLove92: Gonna do knotless. Great video! ♥️

kelley franklin: This was a very informative video, thank you!

Marlee D: Very well explained video. I prefer knotless but have to get traditional right now.

Khaliyah Liyah: I like regular..they last longer. My roots grew out so fast and it didnt look good

zoe: Trying to convince my mom to let me get knotless braids, and that no, my hair isn't going to just fall out.

Erica Fernandez: Oh finally I got knotless about 2 ago for the first time in the Caribbean....for me it was a lot of hair used .it was less tension on my edges however it Frizzed up so fast .will do it again but not as long as I did .....

Erica Brown: I would prefer the knotless but don't like my braids spread out so far. I never had knotless thinking about getting them because of less damage to the hair. However, I want them to last.

Fran Masawi: Thank you!! The info I needed to know this will help me to give knotless a try.

M.a.n.g .o: Me getting box braids tomorrow and looking up the difference

Lady Baaka: I do both, as for knots my hairdresser is a pro coz they last and they are not heavy or sore

Salt and light: "You just have to stiffen your neck or else bad things happens" this has been more times than I can count.

Dawn S: Very informative video, but i'm still unsure. I have only ever had traditional and hate to sit long, hate the tangled knot when its time to take them out. hmmm

Just Call Me Bird: I have gotten Knotless braids done at a salon. But I wanna try traditional as DIY.

DaisiesandPandas: Recently got my braids done in Nigeria, I thank God I went for Knotless because that's the only reason I still have edges.

Malekatah Campbell: Knotless is much better for your natural hair quality Health over beauty!

Regina Smith: It’s traditional for me. Knotless shows too much scalp which doesn’t look good on adults.

Bombshell _: Only 6 weeks? I need it to last a bit longer! Thanks for making this video!

lonelynight S: I wish I seen this video a few days ago I got my hair braided in this style for the first time and I got the regular braids. I absolutely hate it. Especially because I cover my hair and I need to put it in a bun but I can’t and it’s heavy

Being Tee: Knotless, all the way.

Taylor Singleton: I prefer knotless. It’s not heavy and it looks better for my small head lol. Also it’s more versatile.

Iam Nay: I’ve been getting traditional since 2020 I’ll try knotless but if I don’t like them I’m going back to traditional lol I just hate the traditional because of the knots I always get knots in my hair

BithYah Yahudi: Enjoyed your simple information thx

Queen: It depends...box braids for active people who workout because you have to wash them more. I find that box braids cover frizz better than knotless and they won't look as nice frizzy. If I wasn't into working out then I'd do more knotless.

ONLY LONDIEE: Great detail information thank you !!!

Halima Garba: I keep seeding the knotless braids trend everywhere...I'm surely getting this next time but it's hard to do by yourself

Face Reality: Both look good to me honestly

Thato Moloto: I want to do knotless braids but I’m afraid the braids won’t look as full on my head like the traditional - my hair also isnt thick so I’m just afraid they look very spread out but I really want to do them which I think I still will. Do I get thicker knotless or thinner knotless to make it look full??

farirai muti: This was super helpful!

A. D.: I like regular because it's easier for me to do on my hair

Ninneru Hogg: her: *calls me a beautiful person* me: *immediately likes video*

Tracey Antory: I have knotless and prefer knotless. I have mine in for like 4 months now. I just tighten the roots and people can't tell I've had them so long. They last very long.

iateyursandwiches: Idk if I went to a bad stylist or if I'm just extremely tender headed but after I got my knotless braids, it felt tight and was hurting for about 3 days... I think it was the stylist.

Lovely Duck: The thing with knotless braids is the the frizz I hate the pain of box braids but knotless braids is the frizz and I don't feel like I get my money's worth, with knotless braids I have to refresh (more gel) and stuff Chile I can't

Akpene Ocloo: I prefer knotless braids. But can I keep my knotless box braids for up to 8 weeks and how much time do I wait to braid again after I take it down?

Blessing Maramba: Very very informative, thank you

K O-N: Will be changing my hair soon and I think I'll go for the box braids..coz they have to last for 3months

Long Island NY: God I wish I saw this video years ago , I wouldn’t have damaged edges now.‍♀️

Nathaly Duran: Thankssss for this video it was really helpful

Alishyia Brown: Thank you for this I am getting knotless box braids tomorrow morning

Tina Dube: Needed this!

Rosseline 08: Knotless it is. Traditional hurt my head the whole time I had them in.

OddieBabyx3: I’m debating knotless and box braids for my vacation and I’m going swimming. I don’t know which would be better.

Judelyn Richardson: You’re soooo funny lol. Thanks for the info. Lol I laughed so hard at another head on top of your head . I will continue getting traditional braids. They last longer

oribi edmund-tamnabo: Very informative

Vibe: How do you wash knotless braids? I’m looking into getting some

kdreama: My Knotless braids take about 3hrs or less for medium. My girl works fast. Cause 5 and 6hrs plus is no no for me. Im tender headed too, so Knotless all the way for me.

wnordelus: very helpful

Vikki Smith: I prefer tranditional box braids

It’s Just_ Tayee: Very informative!!! I loved this Hey New Subbieee

Sange Sikhundla: i have very short hair (twa) and i want to start doing braids again. which option do you think is best?

《moonliqx 》: Question how long should my hair be to get knotless by hair it's like mid back length a bit shorter but yeah

Megan April: Knotless is better for short hair

Nikita J: Great detail!!

Feverlix: Sorry for commenting again but the take down time as a Jamaican we just cut the braid where we think it's stops and then just pray to Jesus that we don't cut our hair but it rarely happens so yeah I'm talking about the knotless braids

Ms M: I want to try knotless braids. I have a huge head ‍‍, with lots and lots of virgin natural hair. I don’t like box braids (traditional. I have never tried knotless) because when I try to style them - they do not fit into my hands (there’s just to many of them). From the moment I walk out of the salon (the tension on my neck, due to the weight ‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️). Those big fat knots, especially on the first three days, are bumpy, bulky, tight and super painful. Thank you for this video, I am going to try knotless braids - wish me luck. Because if this doesn’t work I am stuck with the fine twists (which break hair) or no braids at all. The struggle is real . Thank you

missbellebeauty: i think it is all about how you take care of it and your personality for me i am bout to get knotless tommorow buh all my friends keep thier braids for more than a month cuz they have time

Daniela Bila: Resuming, the Only point where traditional wins knotless is the time it lasts, Periodt.

Cynthia N: Great Video so true.
