We Did Knotless Jungle Braids For The First Time In Nigeria

Salon Lagos Nigeria

42B Fola Osibo Lekki Phase 1

Is hey guys welcome to the braid us club, okay um, so today we're going to be doing jungle, braids, okay, but loki i'll, be calling this butterfly braids butterfly, lock, looking braids um anyways. So this was our very, very first attempt and honestly we were kind of taken back um, but it was a challenge that we were willing to accept and we tackled it as a team and we figured it out so um we did the knotless uh to start It off just so, we can have a nice flow, a very natural um braided, look from the scalp that kind of vibe, and then we started to do the um jungle technique or what i would call the butterfly technique really um, and it's just pretty much. You braid three times, and then you pull the hair from the sides, and you alternate from left to right left to right as you braid down um. This can almost be like your first attempt at this would feel very wrong because that's the word like it felt like you were supposed to be doing something wrong. That'S what it felt like, but once you get the hang of it, it just kind of becomes like a dance that you're doing so braid three times pull and when you pull the more drastic. Your stretch is like the more dramatic your pull is or exaggerated. Your pull is the more butterfly and beautiful. The effect is um, so it just depends on the look you and your clients are going for. So if you guys want something, that's not so like too textured, then don't pull too far out, don't have the exaggerated pool and if you're going for something more dramatic like this, then i definitely recommend you extending your stretch. Now. This first three rolls that we have done was just practice truthfully, we're still trying to figure it out, and we took turns just um going over it just so. We made sure that everyone has kind of tried, attempted it for the first time and understood what we were doing and then we proceed on to the front um. So yeah, i'm just gon na. Let you guys watch um. So these are my staff um, the two braiders that kind of led this project were ayomi day, and i mean they killed this i mean they murdered this. I mean they annihilated this. I mean they. They they went off. Okay, and this look came out. Amazing uh, initially we were going to go for like a bob like a blunt end, where we would like cut the ends and burn them just so it's like blunt and shorts, because, honestly, this took time, okay, imagine doing knotless, braids and then not being able to Speed because you have to stretch the hair, it was like double the work, so definitely charge your worth for this um on this service. Honestly, i wouldn't attempt it by myself. I don't think i could have attempted by myself a gun at the days where i i would do hair by myself anymore. I feel like nigeria has spoiled me uh. So now i look at here as a teamwork. Now me you, you know you on my chair. The staff - everybody, it's a teamwork, you know it takes a village oprah, so this particular knotless jungle box braids took us six hours to stylist four packs of hair, and if you were to get the service done at my salon, it will cost you approximately 30k, depending On the length that we are going for so yeah 30k and if you translate that in dollars it's 61., but that's not what you would pay if i, if i was to you know, do this hair on you as a client in america. Hell no um! This in america, i would charge you 350 dollars for this service um. I don't even want to get into it. You guys love to argue with me about my pricing or you guys, honestly. I do generally enjoy the conversation and the dialogue that we have around pricing, because it's very important um, especially for businesses or entrepreneurs or hair stylists, to be transparent with their pricing. And why - and everyone has the reason why they charge what they, what they do. I charge what i charge because i'm confident in my ability to make you a satisfied, client, even though it may kill me hurt my back. You know mean that i'm standing for four hours, ten 8. You know so i charge what i'm worth and i charge for my time and i don't think it's fair to go back and forth on um on that you know you can say what you're going to charge if you're a stylist or you can say what you Would pay as a client or what you were comfortable paying as a client depending on the area where you live and all those also matters so yeah, that's um! That'S that, and you know - and i say this in the most polite way possible. You know no shade, but there's always a stylist for your budget, respectfully, okay and that's no shade at all, it's very true, so it is what it is um. Let me know in the comment section what you would charge for this service and honestly, these conversations are are helpful for people that are also beginning, so they can have an idea of what people in the industry would charge for certain. You know services because you don't want people or stylists out there that are still very new lowballing the market and dragging the price and structure down. So that's also another big reason why i personally love to share my price points. Um i mean you could lowball it, but you'd be low, balling yourself um, but honestly um, it's just very just interesting to talk about see where everyone everyone's head is at just to have a you know, key key. I guess um but anyways back to this. So, as you can see, we're almost done um we had um, we put some curl um perm rods at the end to curl them um. I did a pull up on my instagram, make sure you guys are following my instagram glam by mary, also brayden's club. It'S all the same one and the same you know um make sure you guys are following there, because i always do like interesting polls or have you know, engaging stories where you guys really get to decide what happens to hair um some of the hair services at The salon so just kind of tune in and make sure you're you're following that platform at glam by mary on instagram um. So that way, you can participate and see these um content before they get on youtube, because truthfully, these days youtube is the last platform to see all my content, because it's just a process getting everything edited and uploaded, and then i'm in nigeria and i'm dealing with Crappy internet, so it's just like yeah, you guys get the last um the last bit of content, um yeah and i apologize i'm working on it. You guys watch i'm gon na start dropping videos like three times a week. Okay, let me know, let me know over, you know, be overly ambitious two times a week. Okay, once a week again, maybe once every two weeks, let's see how it goes, um so right now we're just dipping the hair in hot water and just taking our microfiber towels, hey, i'm just soaking that right up and then we're gon na apply some spritz. The reason why we apply spritz is so that the curls can hold longer um and doesn't break um too soon. So that's just a little dm fyi tip. If you want your curls to last long in your braids, just go ahead and spray some spritz all throughout, and you should be good. The beauty of this hairstyle is that you really don't have to do much after you're done. All you have to do is apply mousse dip dip only the parts. Okay, the reason why we're even dipping this is because we want to curl it. If we weren't curling the ends, we would not be dipping his hair at all, because the moment you dip this jungle braids in water, it's just going to be a mess. So don't even try it don't even think about it. Don'T even google it like just don't even bother just put some mousse on it. If you do not rest, thankfully, the braids will be a bit more tension free and have a bit more movement. Naturally, so you should be good, and if you want to curl the ends, then you can just make sure you dip the ends only in hot water and nothing else, and you should be okay, um anyways. I hope you guys enjoyed this video. Make sure you like comment, let me know your thoughts um, and i will see you guys in my next video. Thank you guys so much on your love and all the love. You showed me on my previous um salon. Tour. I really appreciated it. Thank you. God bless you. Thank you for the prayers, like you guys are amazing, like i was actually crying. That'S why i didn't comment like i was actually real life crying um. It was just so much support and so much love. I wasn't expecting it so yeah. It took me off guard, so i appreciate you guys. Thank you so much i'll catch. You guys on my next video have a merry day and god bless so you

sheilaw1983: I love this style and I would have no problem paying $350 for it cuz it's bomb. First you had me wishing I lived in Dallas and now you got me wanting to take a trip home with my dad so I can get braided up, lol. Beautiful work as always.

Jessica Fianko: Hi Merry, How are you? How's the salon so far? Loved how the Jungle knotless braids turned out Sending you love and can't wait for the next video

LovelyTrueRed: . I'd pay the $350 and I'd charge $350. It's the entire experience for me. The salon experience/environment, the shampoo/deep condition/blow dry and maybe trim ends, the hair protectant before braiding and the 6 hrs to complete the style (this was a feed in braid/ rolled dipped ends) from start to finish. Not crochet braids that would have cut the time in half or less than that. Not sure if the hair is also included in the price. If so, this is most definitely worth the price.
