Hey y'all, welcome or welcome back to my channel, it's the one and only Zarya Shakira aka frizzy curls, aka Z and I'm finally back with another hair tutorial lit right. I know so in today's video. If you did read from the title, I will be doing my own knotless box braids, and I've never done this before so I was really excited to see the outcome. Originally, I was just going to wet my hair and do a protein treatment and a deep conditioning, but I figured since my hair will be in a protective style. It was best to at least just cleanse my scalp beforehand. So I lightly washed my scalp and roots and rinsed it out before taking my intense protein treatment for extremely damaged hair. Now I know you're probably wondering like what did you do to your hair for it to be damaged like says what's going on, but you know. Obviously, I've been dyeing my hair quite a bit and that does negatively affect your hair after a while. So to ensure my hair doesn't fall out, break off and things like that. I like to get treatments that are for breakage and damaged hair. Even if I haven't experienced much, I just feel like that's being proactive, but you know that's just me. The conditioner I'm using today will be from OGX. It is their coconut milk conditioner same as always. I saturate my hair again with water and work the conditioner into my hair and, as most of you know, I use conditioner as my deep conditioner majority of the time, especially if I don't have any deep conditioner. I just apply it to my hair and put a shower cap on for about 10 to 15 minutes. Sometimes I add heat, and then I just rinse it out and after I got off the shower, I did go ahead and add some leave-in conditioners to my hair. I tell y'all in almost every watched, a video that is always a concert in the showers, so do not mind me, okay, on to the good stuff what you guys came for you already know. I was just gon na be setting myself up for failure. If I started filming this video from beginning to end up doing these box braids, so I went ahead and did most of my hair and left about four parts to demonstrate on I'm using some pre-stretch braiding hair. I found that my local beauty supply store, but you are welcome to use whatever kind of braiding hair you like to use. So I'm gon na be doing square parts around my head and the few tools I'll be using are a rat tail comb, my edge brush and edge comb and a couple of brushes for detangling. So yeah, I'm just part of my hair. How one adds its hop then I'll move on to starting the braids? What I like to do, for each section is take a few drops of my oil mixture and just apply to that strand. Just so, my hair is kept fairly moisturize, while in this protective style you know cuz, I want to make sure my hair is not breaking off when I take these shits out. So, of course, I'm just taking them out of braiding hair I'll be using for one braid. I split into two and begin the braid. You will need some edge control. Y'All know I'm a style factor, age, booster type of girl. So that's what I'm gon na be using today and before I start the braid. I just take a small amount of the stuff at the edge booster and spread it onto the middle of the two pieces of braiding hair. That really just helps with grip, and I think it's a really great trick for beginners like myself. So that's what I'm gon na do before I start the braid. I also do take some of the edge control and work it on the section of my hair before splitting it into three. Before I begin, the Nautilus braid, like I mentioned using edge control, is really great for grip and I'm pretty sure I've seen this technique used in hella videos. So that's why I'm doing it here? Okay, I'm not the greatest explainer when it comes to braids and twists. So hopefully I can see what I'm doing from the video, but I'm basically treating the braids like feed ends using the two pieces of braiding hair I took from the pack. So what I'm gon na do is add the braiding hair from the middle at the sleek down part to the middle strand of my hair and I'm gon na grab the other half of the braiding hair strand and combine it with a new strand of my hair And keep braiding it like normal on the next braid you'll see a better installation, but that's as best as I can explain it because, like I said I am NOT the greatest explainer, so I tried my best. I'M just gon na be repeating the same process as before, putting oil on my hair slicking down the middle pieces of the braiding hair, with the style factor edge booster pomade, adding the pomade to my hair before sectioning it into three to begin the braid. Now my braids aren't gon na be perfect. So please don't judge me but, like I mentioned, this is only my first time doing: knotless box braids and basically, like my third time, doing box braids period. So you know this ain't bad for my first time so yeah. Hopefully you guys either understand how I explained how to do the braid or could just understand by watching. I also forgot to mention you do want to add pomade to your hair and the braiding hair. As you go so yes, you will go through quite a bit, but that's what makes the braid sleek and shiny and we're done. The dun dun yep, the son done well we're not technically done, but we're done with the braiding part. So this is what the braids are looking like right after I finish, you know that Q or what of them it took me about three days. To finish, I did the back of my hair. One day finished most of the rest of the next day and then the pieces that I did on camera the last day. It'S really not that many steps left all I'm gon na be doing next is just adding some grease to my scalp, but you guys can use whatever kind of grease you like, and, of course you can't have moveable flowy box braids without dipping them into some boiling Hot water, so obviously I'm gon na be doing that and then, after our dip them, I'm gon na take some loose from the dew. I'M gon na be using their mousse, deft, texture, foam and you know, set the braids in place or whatever and that's really it y'all. You know I had to be a little extra and show y'all that my box of braids is swinging. Okay, all right JA, y'all know how to at the end of my videos I got ta, give you all some slow-mo, some fast mo some media modes. I got ta, give you all everything so y'all can see the final outcome. I really hope you all loved how my not list box braids came out today. I love them. They'Re super fire. This blue is cute. I really think blue is becoming my new favorite color, because it looks the good on me. I definitely foresee a lot of not least box braid tutorials in the future. So you know, let me know what colors I want to see, but anyway, I hope y'all, like this tutorial today, be sure to LIKE comment and subscribe on your way to my next one and I'll see y'all in my next video bye.
