How To: Rubber Band Method Box Braid Tutorial | Tanieya

Rubber band method box braids! This Rubber Band Method Box Braid tutorial is simple and easy to do while at home. I used Xpression braiding hair (4-5 packs) and you'll also need gel and rubber bands.

First, you want to part you hair in square sections, gel it down and then secure it with a rubber band. Then you take your braiding hair and begin to braid each section. Once done, you want to seal your box braids with hot boiling water. Let the hair dry and you can also add hair jewels!

I started a youtube channel because I love to create videos, and I love video editing. I also have a passion for DIY ✂️projects and I think it's cool how you can turn simple every day things into something unexpected! Another thing I'm always doing is trying out different hairstyles, and learning haircare tips so I'm going to incorporate the things I love to do on my channel.

I've always done cool projects but now I just decided to put a camera in front of me

Hey it's Taniya, I'm gon na be showing you guys how to make this rubberband method. Socks, braids, honey. This style is so easy and it doesn't take a lot of time to do. Cuz. You know box wigs, be taking a million frickin years or you try to do it on your own, but not with this style. Okay and if you're new to my channel, don't forget to press that subscribe button and before we even get into this, make sure you give this video a thumbs up and leave a comment down below. Okay, smooches stay tuned. Okay, so I look super hit right here, but whatever so, I'm just basically parting right here into a straight line and I'm gon na make my box pretty parts kind of big, because I kind of want them to be like jumbo braids and then I'm just gon Na take some gel, I'm using my Murray's edge wax and I'm gon na take a rubber band and just section off like that, and then you just repeat all over your head, so I'm just gon na fast forward. This part - okay, oh and also, if you have any questions, make sure you leave a comment down below, because I do respond back to you guys. This part is the Bora may look simple on camera, but I definitely think that you guys will be able to do this at home on your own and just make sure that you have two mirrors because right now, I'm looking at a mirror - and I have a Handheld mirror, and that will help you see if your parts are straight, because it's so hard doing this by yourself just to make your part straight okay, so this is gon na, be the most time-consuming part. It'S feathering out the ends of your braiding hair. Oh, my god took me forever, but I'm using expressions braiding here I used about four to five packs and I just I made my sections a little thicker because I want my braids to be. You know a little more on the Jumbo side. So basically, you guys saw me take that braiding hair and it had two pieces and I'm using my hair as a third piece, and you just want to add in the braiding hair. You want to take some pieces from the other two sections of the braiding hair into your third piece, which was your natural hair, and I really hope that makes sense. But I'll try to explain it two or three more times, so you guys can get it and I just braid it all the way down and when you feather out the ends, you're breeding here, your braid will start to come to it and - and it won't look So blunt and like they can weird again alright, so I sped this up so here the last three sections right, so we're just gon na take one section, put the other two pieces in here out of the way and take our brain here: okay! Okay! So, as you can see like your reel, here is gon na, be that third strand - and I just braid it down a little bit. You can add in here as early as you want to personal preference, personal preference, okay, but soon I just slowed this down. For you guys, so you can really see what the heck I'm doing and how I add hair into that third strand, which is just like my natural hair. So I think it's right here. So you see I'm taking a piece of hair from one section which is the braiding here and I'm adding it into that third section. That was only my natural hair and then I begin to continue to braid again, and then I do it again from the other section of braiding hair that I didn't take from before and add that into the third section too. I hope slowing it down, really helps you guys see exactly what I'm talking about and that's what I did on my entire head. So that's how you can add in hair and then you could just continue to braid all the way down. So you get to the end, and that is pretty much it okay. So now this is, like my favorite part, just playing your baby hears. Yes, so I take my memories inside relax, which is like my favorite edge, relax right now, I'm really not a big singer that ecostyler gel, like I really don't think it's for certain. It'S only for certain things, but this Marie's edge wax. We have in my stuff and leave okay, so I'm taking this toothbrush that I only use in my hair. I feel like I say that in every hair tutorial. This is only for my hair and I am just laying down my baby ears. Okay, so make sure you take some boiling hot water and you just dip your ends in that boiling hot water. Just so you can seal it. So your ends can look a lot better, less stiff, / choppy. I really like this part, so all I did was just take a small pot of boiling hot water and just dip my ends and make sure you have a towel near because this water is hot and then you want to make sure you have a little fun. So I got this string. This was from Michael's. You can get this from the craft store. I used to always be in a craft store cooking up some type of do-it-yourself project, but they have it in a bunch of different colors and I'm just wrapping this around. My braids, you probably also go to the beauty, supply store. They have string as well. You know hair jewelry there too, that you can have a lot of fun with your braids, but this was like super cute and I thought it looked like so tribal. I don't know I was just really feeling it now: this string, the gold and the silver pack. I got this from my beauty supply store. So, like I said you definitely can find this type of stuff at your beauty supply store. You know if you do just watched over at the plug or not I'm just gon na, but yeah you can find a such a beauty. Supply store too yeah. Get it time. Usa, guys like this tutorial, give it a thumbs up and leave a comment down below, and I see you guys next time, bye,

Tatiana Bradford: They came out beautiful! Do you know how many braids you wound up having? They looked like the perfect amount! I'm going to have this style done soon and I want to have the least amount as possible but have it still look full. I tried counting and i feel like you had about 25 but couldn't really tell from the angles you were shooting.

Kelly Rose: I'm living for these braids! I also loved the innovative idea with the string in the end, making the braids pop even more. With the Xpressions hair, did you cut it in half or just braid with how you got it in the pack?

Melanie Lawrence: This is a great tutorial, thanks! I had the issue of my real hair frizzing up and not blending well as I was doing it. Once I braided past my hair it looked good. I have 4c hair and blow dried it first but then I put some edge control on my hair thinking it would keep it smooth but it didn't lol. Maybe I need to try it just at the root for neatness. Anyone else have this problem/find a solution that worked for them? Thanks!

Ayah Hasan: A way to make the feathering got quicker and don’t do it all at once get your piece of hair for the braid pull on both ends at the same time and then begin to braid. It is seriously takes a quick second before you start to braid

Annirda Brandon: I’m going to try this soon. I can’t wait to see how it turns out

Morgan Danielle: Girlaaaa !! This tutorial is like one of the MOST helpful ones out there

Anna Robinson: this just helped me do mines today thanks

Melissa Celina Rivera: your slow down is really helpful! Plus your braids came out amazing.

Mayii: You did an amazing job I be having so much trouble tryna path my hair I hope I’m not the only one

esther ndiro: I definitely will try this one..thanks a lot Taneiya

Ayana J: Love it! About to wash my hair now lol

Sha Honeyy: Can’t wait to try this style! It looks really good on you. ❤️Do you recommend blowing out your natural hair in order for it to blend better?

Ms Ch.: Your natural hair is HUUGE! WHOA! i'm researching to style my boyfriend's hair, he has a 3c and NEVER had braids, not even the basic ones that uses just your own hair, so i'm gonna style his hair LOUD AND GREEN to make it a big start (he asked me, i ain't forcing no one) How long do you think this style will last? Do you any tips for make it last longer, like, specific fabric to wrap before bed?

AKIYIAKELLY: Great Job. This is how I do My Braids also.

Kim Meyer: Do you get less fly aways by adding your natural hair into it? Also what type of elastics do you use. The ones I used break very easily.

Monica Virgin: Respect thank you my hair came out on fleek

Charee Garry: By you slowing it down to show how you added the hair was very helpful cause I struggled doing that part in my own hair.

Snow242: This is by far the best tutorial on youtube.

Nadia Mensah: Beautiful. Very good job

DJ Meron: What is the brand of the string? Or website on the package?

Aly Marii: For some reason, the rubber band keeps showing when I do it, and when I add hair to the third strand, the braid looks like it’s going sideways as if it turned a different direction. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong lol

Summer Myrick: How long would all of it take?

Blessed uNicorn: Hi I love how you part your hair it seems easy but I need someone to show me clearly how you reach to section out your hair I mostly see the back and front I want to know how you figure it out in the mirror because I’m never satisfied with my parting areas look full other look empty ...
