Welcome to my beauty supply sleigh series. My name is winnie jean i'm a content creator who specializes in showing you guys how to get salon quality hair at home in each episode i'll show you a new hairstyle that you can achieve using hair from your local beauty. Supply store, i believe that every girl should be able to slay their own hair in a pinch and on a budget and with my tips, tricks and product recommendations, you'll be ready in no time hey loves. Welcome to my channel. My name is woody jean. If you're new here and if you're returning then hey girl, how you doing in today's episode of the beauty supply store series, we are using the water popping twist hair again, i don't know if this video or the other video is going up first, but there are Two water popping twist videos and this one we're going for a shorter look, we're about to give babiana okay. Normally, i do a kind of side, part vibe, with my faux locs like this, but today i want to try something new and i want to do like an even middle part, and i figure, if i don't like it in the middle part, i should be able To wear it to the side, so we're going to play around a little bit today and see what she's getting my hair is already braided. I actually just took some other faux locs down and i decided to save the braids, but you can feel free to braid. Your hair from scratch, i will leave the number of braids that i have in my hair right here, so you guys can see how many braids i have in, but save your braids don't be wasting your time. Braiding your face over and over again, especially if you do your own hair and if you get like knotless braids or soft locks done by someone else, take the extensions out, leave the braids in wash them and put some blocks on top of them. It saves you so much time and you can also wear wigs on top of them, depending on how small the braids that you have in. But i could totally like smooth this back and put a wig cap on and call it a day. So they're really convenient. As you can see, my braids are to where i can have a middle part. I just washed and conditioned them so they're a little bit fuzzy but that'll actually work to our benefit because you all know i, like you, know a little distressed moment with my faux locs. I don't like them super perfect, so i'm going to start in the back and then we're gon na work our way up and see what it's given. But let me turn around, so you guys can see the back of my braid before we start. If you're gon na do a style on yourself and you're, not really that comfortable with hair, i think faux. Locs is a great place to start because you really can't mess it up. I have seen some crazy, faux locs and they always look cute. They could be falling apart. They'Re still going to look cute, throw some baby hair on it, put it in a bun to live, libido, look! Okay! Most people won't even know that you think they're not right, okay, so i cannot stop doing a british accent. I do a british accent, my friend, and i cannot turn it off. This is the hair that we'll be using today. It'S a three-time free, fluffed water pop into his hair and 28 inches. I have the color 1b right here, and this is what we're going to be using today. This hair is so convenient because it comes pre-fluffed, it's basically water wave hair, but it's pre fluff. So it's nice like and fluffed out for styles like faux locs and twists and it's pre-sectioned. So you get one two three four: five: six: seven roughly seven to eight pieces per little cluster and it's pre-sectioned out. So if you want to do small locks, you can use half a section. If you want to do medium to large blocks, you can use the full sections and you don't have to worry about prepping your hair. Before you start. I know you guys are probably seeing braiders and hairstylists kind of prep the hair, and they put it on that like loom, looking thing where they kind of have it pre-fluffed and sitting out, but this hair you have to worry about any of that. It comes pre-flipped. It comes pretty much pre-sectioned and you can kind of just immediately start when you take the hair out of the package. So, in order to do this style, you need the hair, i'm using a crochet needle for the technique that i'm using today, but i also show you an alternate way. You can do it that you don't need a crochet needle a couple clips to keep my hair in place. As i move throughout my head, i have a scrunchie in the ponytail girl. I ain't taking it out to show you a edge brush, edge control and a pair of scissors. I have some hair shears. You can use whatever scissors, you have on hand um. We won't really need them for the style, but they just kind of come in handy to clean stuff up to trim any extra hairs and to separate the hair, if necessary. So it's nice to have those on hand. But overall you really don't need much to do this time. I want to do a short bob. I want to give very much vibes very much cleopatra honey, but my hair is relatively long, so in order to be able to do that, i'm actually going to take my braid and crochet it through itself. So i'm putting my crochet needle through the base of my braid and grabbing my hair and pulling it through and now my hair is kind of folded up, so it's shorter. This is what it looks like now, and this is what it was like before. So i have a lot more length to play with with my lock, so i'm grabbing a section of hair. This is what one section looks like you can see: it's a cute little ringlet on the end and some nice fluffy hair throughout. So my favorite method, the method that works the best and stays the longest for me is when i crochet through the root, i'm gon na grab the hair and pull it a quarter of the way through. This is the short side. This is the wrong side. With the short side i'm going to grab my hair nice and fold it up and then with the long and hold that stationary. In this hand, this hand doesn't move with the short the longer strand, i'm taking that and wrapping it around. The base, maybe three or four times and then really really loosely - i'm gon na start to wrap. Until i have my lock the length that i wanted, the looser you go, the more distressed your locks are gon na be so keep that in mind. I want my bob super short, so i'm actually going to stop here and then, with the shorter strand i kind of switched them. I want to wrap the shorter strand up first and i kind of focus it mainly on the ends just to create a little bit of weight on the end, so that my locs lay nice and kind of heavy and i'm not explaining. So they lay really like flat almost and then once i have that shorter piece wrapped until there's no more hair, i'm going to grab this longer piece twist it up and then wrap this longer piece on top of the entire lock and that's going to add a Lot of texture, it's also going to add a little bit of stability to the lock so that you don't have to worry about anything coming down the more layers you add when you're wrapping your locs, the kind of like more secure that they tend to be, and Instead of using a glue, i'm taking the hair and i'm just wrapping it until it's literally no more hair left it's this little bitty strand and i'm left with this little cutie. So i'm going to go ahead and crochet my hair through itself to create a shorter base like so, and then show you guys the other technique. This technique is a little bit simpler, they're both easy, but it's a little bit just less tips. So i'm taking the same amount of hair, got this one section cute little water popping twist hair and instead of crocheting it through the root, i'm gon na hold it about a quarter of the way down the same amount. I'M gon na grab my hair and my left hand stationary it with the shortest side of the hair and then, with the longest section, i'm going to just start to wrap tightly around the base and with this particular technique i like to wrap four to five times. I wrap around the base quite a few times, because this is really all you have to keep it in place and then, once i wrap around the base, i start to wrap loosely and do the exact same technique as the other side. So pretty much. The only difference is that i didn't crochet it through the root on this side. To me, i find that this is a little bit more sturdy. It lasts a bit longer, but if you're only going to wear your hair for like a few weeks or a month, then girl do it. This way, it's a little easier and it'll save you some time. So once i measure and kind of make sure that the locs are the same length, i'm going to do the exact same thing and wrap the shorter side going upward kind of focusing the hair, mostly on the bottom, for the most part, but feel free to wrap. It wherever you need it to feel comfortable on your lap. I want to double check the length again because it's easiest to fix the length right now, but it looks pretty good. So, with the longer section i'm going to go in and wrap up the entirety of the lock, the more you fluff, the hair out, the more texture you'll have as well so play with it and see how you like it. You can actually even leave some curls out. You can really really customize. This look, i'm about to finish up the back and then i'll pop in when i get a little bit closer to the top um uh um. Okay, so i have most of the hair done. I have one lock to finish: is this braid right here and i actually love how it came out for a second there. I got a little nervous. I'M not gon na lie cause it's a bit different, but i really like it actually. Let'S finish the style up. Girl, but i keep waking okay so now that i have the hair finish, i'm taking a little piece cut in half and i'm just going in and reinforcing any locks that i feel like need a little bit more body to them, especially the ones on top. The more you wrap them, the more they are kind of straight. I don't mind the locks in the back being super curly, but up top i prefer for them to lay a little bit flatter. So i'm going in with a couple of these little pieces and just touching everything up. I think this is perfect and i got it relatively. Even i was a little nervous, but it's even as it's gon na get. So this is the finished middle part. Very cool, very edgy, and then we flip it over. It'S loki the perfect side, part layers, the half up, half down will probably be cute. Let'S see, let's see if i can get it into a ponytail. I feel like the back. Two rows aren't gon na fit, but i should be able to get most of them into a good pony. The ponytail is top tier, it's kind of messy and wild, which is very much my vibe. So i hope that you guys really enjoyed today's video. I'M kind of obsessed, i kind of love it. Thank you again to shake and go for working with me, and i will see you guys in my next video bye, babes
