Rope Twist French Braid By Erin Balogh

In this week's video I show you how to do a Rope Twist French Braid I recommend doing this style on wet hair and using mousse or gel to help give it some grip. When you are first learning this braid, I also recommend you do it on half the hair (or less) to practice. One of the biggest challenges of this braid is that as you work your way down the braid, you have to keep the two main sections twisted so it doesn't all unravel but I will show you how that's done. Make sure to also watch how I do the second braid. The directions are exactly the same BUT because it is the other side of the head - you are twisting everything opposite. You'll see what I mean when you try it out. But don't worry! I also walk you through that side too Lastly, don't mind my slightly scratchy voice in the video. I am getting over a cold and tried to make it sound as normal as I could Have fun with this one! XOXO Erin and Quinn

Hey guys, Quinn - and I are back today to do a rope twist French braid. So this is a rope twist braid that you're, actually gon na, add or incorporate hair into kind of like a French braid. So that's how it gets its name, a couple of tips on this braid. I recommend doing it on wet hair. It'S gon na make it a lot easier and I'm gon na add some product into it. Like mousse, you could also use gel something that will give it some hope. That'S gon na make a big difference when you do this style to keep tension in the braid and keep it looking nice and neat, and I also recommend that you part the hair down the middle and only work with half the hair at the time. It'S easier when you learn this style just to work with half there versus all of the hair, just handling it and keeping it nice and tight. So with that, we're gon na get started. Take a small section of hair and divide it into two I'll refer to these as the inside section and the outside section. Next twist, each of these to the inside then cross the inside section over at the outside section. Next pick up a new section of hair from the inside. Take it under and add it to the outside section then pick up a new section of hair on the outside. Take it under and add it to the inside section twist, both sections to the inside then cross the inside section over the outside section, return to the inside to pick up a new section of hair. Take it under and add it to the outside section pick up a new section of hair on the outside then take it under and add it to the inside section twist. Both sections to the inside then cross the inside section over the outside section again pick up the new section of hair from the inside. Take it under and add it to the outside section then pick up a new section of hair on the outside. Take it under and add it to the inside section twist. Both sections to the inside then cross the inside section over the outside section continue repeating down the braid repeat, on the other side, take a small section of hair and divide it into two next twist. Each of these to the inside then cross the inside section over at the outside section. Next pick up a new section of hair from the inside. Take it under and add it to the outside section then pick up a new section of hair on the outside. Take it under and add it to the inside section twist to both sections to the inside then cross the inside section over the outside section, return to the in sight to pick up a new section of hair. Both sections to the inside then cross the inside section over the outside section continue repeating down the braid and that's it you're all done.
