I am the owner of (Irene's Braids) located in Duluth, GA. I'm always accepting new clients. I work out of my own private Salon Suite.

Hi guys it's Irene's braids and I am back with another video. Today'S video is going to be about how to do a braided updo with crochet twist. So this was a highly requested video, my client Tamara, I'm, who was in this photo book this style again. So I decided to go ahead and capture the tutorial while she was here so, let's get started, I'm going to use easy brave, professional hair from the my braiding hair. I like this hair because it's antibacterial braiding hair and it's itch free. So I do like that, of course. As always, I want to use my shining Jam and last but not least, my edge wax. So let's get started of course in this section here, I'm going to just part her hair into two sections and split it into half. So that way is much more easier for me to braid. So let's continue watching so I have taken a braiding piece of hair, literally this small and what I like to do is. Is I like to start off with my clients, natural hair? First, on my hand, I have some edge wax that I like to kind of dip my fingers in to help me get a better hold on to my clients, natural hair, and what I'm doing here is I'm just feeding in the braiding hair up underneath my index Finger to gradually make it a bigger braid, so I'm going to feed them into smaller pieces until it becomes the consistency of a braid that I would like to have for her scalp rates. You will notice that Tamara Scout turns very red, as I am braiding, I'm not braiding with a lot of tension. She just has the type of scalp, which will turn very red, as I braid. So just you know, so you guys know that I'm not hurting her. It'S just some clients, their scalps turned a little redder than others, and she is one of those clients. Okay, so let's continue watching you, okay guys. So, as you notice, if you haven't noticed, I like to start my clients brain off with their natural hairline hair. First, so that way their hairline seems more natural and seamless. I don't really care for not at the beginning of my brain, so this is why I like to start off with their natural hair and then feed in small tiny pieces of braiding hair, and then I gradually feed in more bigger pieces. As I go and I'll continue to do this until I get it down to the consistency at the braid that I would like okay, so this is pretty much how it's done and another little you know helpful tip. Is I like to separate my hair out so I'll start off with maybe three of the tiniest pieces and then I'll gradually go a step or two up from those tiny pieces to three more of those and then from that smaller piece that I did I'll go. Three more to like a larger piece, so just every piece that you may go into threes of that piece of braiding hair and gradually feed it in until the break gets bigger. Please note that the bigger that you go and honor your cornrow and it's too big it have a knot. You can kind of see where it doesn't seem. Seamless, of course, take that down and redo it again, and so it's a smaller piece break that piece. That was too big and so two pieces and then feed it in like so, and it will work out okay. So, let's continue watching okay, guys um. I have started with the back of her head, and so what I'm doing is is. I would like to bring the braids in to angle direction, and so I'm just starting from one side of her head and I'm parting, the hair to the opposite side. So that way, I can do the braids at a nice slanted angle, which kind of jazz is up the braid some and make it look really really cute and classy. At the same time, I want to tell you guys she has received so many compliments off this hairstyle, so it was just so important that we do a tutorial for you guys so all of the clients that have been stopping her asking her, who did her braids Now you can kind of see how this style is achieved and, and you can take it to your braid er and hopefully your braids. I will be able to do this style. It'S very simple, very easy, not much to it. So I hope that you guys are so far enjoying this video and, like I said before in the beginning of the video you're gon na notice, that Tamara scalp is gon na turn very red, especially in the back area. The more pressure that is applied to her scalp, the more red her scalp, turns I'm not breathing too tight. It'S just the way her scalp is and you'll notice at the end of the video, her scalp just goes back to normal once I'm not touching it anymore. Okay, all right guys, let's continue watching, I only finished with all the braids. I just want to show you guys what type of our bands that I will be using. These are more of a larger rubber band or maybe medium they're, not the small ones that I've used to put our hair into a ponytail. I'M going to section off her hair and split it into twos, and then I'm going to break down each braid into a bigger, a bigger braid and then I'm going to intertwine them into a circle to make a knot. So I'm just gon na break each one down and then circle them to make a nut. Okay, let's continue watching okay, guys, I'm going to go ahead and start crushing in her twist. I do want to say, ladies, please be mindful of the type of crocheting hair that you buy Tamara and I were smelling the crochet hair that she picked up, and I was telling her that the hair had a smell to it. Like more of like you know, corn, like corn chips, maybe so you know we didn't really care for that smell, so I'm gon na you know put some. You know nice fragrance on her hair to make it smell good. But you know you just I'd like to open up the pack Sahara fly by crochet hair. You know, I know they don't particularly care if you open the packages of hair, but I do it. You know I'm gon na spend my money on it. I'M gon na open it up and I'm going to observe the hair. That'S just me because they're very funny about you exchanging the hair, so I'm gon na be bunny about examining the hair to make sure that I like it before I buy it so right now. I'M just crushing it in and I'm going to continue to keep doing that until the point till is filled enough to where we don't see any more of her, not a bun, but not too much to where it's going to be heavy. The twist that we have here or a soft twist and it's more of a natural texture and it's very light - and so that's why I didn't apply so much of it, because I like that natural flow, nothing too too big, so yeah, that's what I suggest that You guys do so: okay, let's continue watching guys. I just wanted to add that you want to push through the ponytail and not down, because when you push down the pins can hurt, push it through and the pins will stay just right. But please purchase the pins that I showed you in this video because those work better when it comes to point cells and laying the hair right. So we finally have the finished. Look for the ponytail. This style has. She has really gotten. So many compliments on this. Look, I am in love with it, so I hope that you guys love it as well. In this section here, I'm going to show you guys how we button the hair to a bunny, a bun versus a ponytail, and I split the hair two tubes and then I'm just kind of twisting the crochet hair around and then I'm slightly tucking it under the Bun - and I continue to do that until I no longer see any more strands of twists - you will get some pieces, that's gon na poke out, it's fine, you just let it be right where it's at and then just poke it in with the bobby pin, and You know make it look nice and and in place, oh, and also, I want to tell you guys that tamara has a jewelry line where she sells cute little signature pieces of like jewelry, earrings, bracelets necklaces things of that nature. Her Instagram is Tamera's closet and I will tag that Instagram name below in the description. If you are interested in looking to buying some of her jewelry Jori pieces, so so i'll go ahead and tag that in the description box for you, so we're going to continue watching how the rest of the bun is styled. I hope that you guys enjoyed this video tutorial of her braided style as always. Thank you so much for watching, and I will see you guys again in my next video
