#Locnation Individual Crochet Faux Locs And Crochet Loc Half Wig Tutorial

I've always wanted to try faux locs, but I never wanted to go through the process of braiding and wrapping my hair. I got a chance to try Shake n Go's crochet locs on their braided cap, which I absolutely love. I also did individual locs on the perimeter using a method that is similar to the one that I used for my individual box braids last year. I don't know how many caps I've bought to date. This tutorial will show you how to make a half wig with crochet braids or locs with a crochet leave-out.

PRODUCTS USED

1. FreeTress/Shake N Go Braided Cap $10.

The freetress braided cap comes in one size, has baby hairs, an adjustable strap and is prefect for crochet braids and weaves.

2. FreeTress Synthetic Braid 2x - Soft Wavy Faux Loc 20 inches (24 Pieces)

The faux locs come in wavy, medium and large. My locs are wavy. They aren't that wavy, but that's the style. They are pre-looped extensions to make crochet braiding easier. Also, they are twisted into locs, so the interior is hollow. They are very light weight and the ends are beautiful. They are some natural looking locs.

3. Latch hook for crochet braids.

4. Janet Collections Selfit Clips For Extensions. These clips do not need to be sewn onto a weft. Just slide them on and you're good to go. I bought 200 of them and I will do a tutorial later. One will feature just the clips and the second will be a wig that I made with them.

HOW TO MAKE THE WIG

0:19 Put your braided cap on a mannequin and begin to cut the baby hairs where you want your part to be.

0:52 Slide your latch hook through the loop of the loc.

0:56 Slide the latch hook through a braid on your braided cap.

1:11 Open the latch hook and put the end of your faux loc in the hook. Close the hook and pull through.

Be sure to secure the loc.

1:16 Make sure your locs are approximately one inch apart. This spacing allows them to be a reasonable density and evenly distributed. You don't want your hair to be too full or thin.

1:23 Crochet the locs where your part will be next to each other.

1:38 Cut the mesh on the braided cap where your part will be.

2:00 Apply the selfit clips under the wig to help secure it to your head.

2:40 Prepare your leave-out for individual crochet locs.

3:05 Grab a small section of hair, put your latch hook through the loop of a loc, attach your natural hair to the hook and slide through.

3:27 Slide your latch hook through the loop again and pull your natural hair through again. This will secure your hair to the base.

3:38 Unravel your faux loc, slide your latch hook up the shaft and pull your natural hair through.

4:05 Twist your loc back into place.

Hi everyone is Lulu, and today I'm here to show you how I made this crochet Lock, half wig, I'm using my free tres braid cap to make the wig and I've used it previously. I love this cap is probably my favorite crochet braiding cap that I use and what I did was. I just cut some of the baby hairs. It does come with baby here, so I just cut the baby hairs where the part will be and as you can see, the part is being exposed. The hair that I'm using is the free, tres soft, faux, lock, wavy hair in the color number two, and these are medium sized locks. There are about twenty four in one pack, I believe and they're pre looped extensions you're, going to slide your latch hook through the loop and then slide it under a braid grab the end of your hair and pull through to secure the hair you're going to do This on each braid of the cap and make sure your locks are approximately one inch apart, so you have nice spacing and the wig is not too full or too thin. So this is my spacing, and this is what the wig is. Looking like almost complete at the part area where the two cornrows are just continue to crochet the hair, but this time bring the locks closer together, since this is right where your parting will be. This is what the park looks like and you're just going to cut a slit into the mesh. Be careful doing this. It is strong mesh, but just take your time and be careful, and there is my half wig all right. These are my favorite ever clippings. You do not have to sew them in there the sulphate clippings from Janet collection, and I will show you how to use them, but this is what I use to secure my wig. These are like the best clippings ever I'm not kidding. I had to buy like 200, I have three clippings and I have adjustable straps in the back of my wig and what I did was I removed one of my threaded sections of hair because that's where my parting will be - and I put the wig on my Head now I'm unraveling the threaded section of my hair, so I can prepare it for individual locs. You can always do cornrows in the middle, but I just choose to do individual locks for the middle of my hair, where the parting will be slide. Your latch hook through the pre looped extension and then grab a small section of your natural hair, close the latch hook and pull it through and you're going to do this again, you're going to put your latch hook through the hole of the pre looped extension and Attach your natural hair again and pull through, and this is what I do to secure my hair at the base. And then, what you're going to do is unravel the lock and put your latch hook through the middle of the shaft you're, going to go all the way up and put your natural hair on the latch hook, seal the latch hook and then pull through. Then. What you're going to do next is just neaten the lock and twist it around until it looks normal again. This is what the individual locks look like on the right side of my head and we're going to do the left side which, as you can see, has twists. I put my hair in individual twisted sections. So that way, it would make it easier for me to go through the process, so you can do it with loose hair or twisted hair, but go ahead and loop. Your natural hair around the pre looped extension twice or three times. I wouldn't go more than three times just to secure the base and then unravel your lock. Then slide your latch hook up the shaft of the lock all the way up until you reach your natural hair, latch your natural hair on to the latch hook and slide it through twist your lock until it looks the way it did before you unraveled it, and That'S pretty much it for this tutorial. I would like to say thank you so much for watching. As always. If you have any questions, please feel free to. Let me know - and I will talk to you soon - bye
