Watch Me Do My Own Box Braids!! (*Full Process*)

Hi guys and welcome back to another video on my youtube channel. My name is anna williams. If you are new, go ahead and hit that subscribe button girl, because you going lover her - you are a returning subscriber thanks for coming back girl, but as you can see, i'm kind of being a little quiet because y'all it is 11 56 p.m. Right now to get straight into this video, i'm gon na go ahead and hop in the shower. As you can see, i have a towel on and i'm gon na go ahead and wash my hair. When i get out, i will go ahead and let you guys know the products that i use to wash my hair. If you are interested - and you guys will see me right back when i am done so - let's get into it - hi guys, okay, so i am currently back out of the shower. It is about 12 47. I know i took forever so like promised. I was gon na. Let you guys know what i use to wash my hair, don't mind how ghetto wrapped my hairs. Okay, this is a really big towel. I used the coconut hibiscus curl and shine conditioner, and i used the coconut and hibiscus curl and shine shampoo. So that is what i use to wash my hair, but this is not sponsored. I wish so to go ahead and get into it. I'M going to go ahead and take off my towel. Oh my gosh guys do not judge. This is freshly washed hair, as you can see, it is washed and everything period washed and healthy purr, so to get into the video to start off with what i'm going to be using, of course, another wide tooth comb, you're gon na also see a pattern that I only comb my hair with wide tube combs, because you know don't need to be pulling out. My hair, like crazy and another thing i'm going to be using, is my pick of course, to pick out my hair, i'm going to be using this. It is 44 iron guard, it is like a heat protectant. Most people say stuff about hypotecus. I like they shouldn't, use it and stuff like this personally girl. I just i just use it. I'M going to be using a couple of leave-in conditioners: manuka the manuka, honey and mafura oil girl. Honestly, i don't know what that is, but it sounds fancy the other leave-in conditioner that i'm going to be using is um from new look garden fructis. It'S called sleek and shine intensive, smooth, leave-in conditioner cream now for the oils that i'm going to be using we're going to be using the hollywood hair bar grow, regrow serum well, grosser, that's what it says, love this stuff, so i'm also going to be using the Blue magic, coconut oil, hair conditioner, so when it comes down to the braiding part, we're going to be using shine and jam. This is absolutely the best jam to use for your hair when you are doing box braids, because honestly, it just keeps it together. So on to the utensils, we are going to be doing my little get a blow dryer. This thing has been being used for years and years and years and years. Okay, we got a couple of like hair ties that i'm going to be using to, like you know, section my hair out and stuff like that, i'm going to be using these little clampy thingies to move my hair out the way and stuff like that to make It easy so yeah, that's basically sum up of the um utensils and like products that i'm going to be using on my hair. If you see something new i'll mention it, but yeah, that's basically it so it is um 12. 55 in the morning. So i'm gon na go ahead and get into the moisture process, so i got to mention guys: i'm gon na be using this. This just has like a little bit of conditioner and a little bit of water. You don't really need the conditioner, because again you're gon na be using it, but i was a little too lazy to um. You know get up and empty down a lot, so this is like a good amount for me just so that i can get my hair to be wet again so yeah. So i'm just going to just spray this all around. So now that i'd say that my hair is lathered up pretty good, of course, there is a little bit of leave-in conditioner in it, but it just lathers up really good a little more water. We have both of our leave-in conditioners in there. I know that i said i was going to use this, but i didn't end up using this because um i don't really need the curl enhancing honestly right now, because it is done a pretty good job and i am going to be putting in box braids to Move on to the next step, we're going to go ahead and dab some of this in okay and lastly, i'm going to take a little bit of it, and just put it in my hand like that, and then i'm gon na just get the out edges of My hair all right so now we're going to go ahead and start the combing process. So right now i'm going to go ahead and try to section my hair really quickly and then put these in it. So so we have our hair separated um. It has four different sections right now, so now we're gon na start the combing out process. So we're going to go ahead and use this first, i'm going to take out this side, but i'm going to use my fingers first to kind of work to kind of separate it out a little bit okay and then, while i'm running my fingers through it, i Want to get like some of the serum, the hollywood hair bar serum put it in my hand a little bit and then just kind of work it through okay. So now we're gon na grab our comb and we're gon na start from the ends and, as you can see, it is super easy to do it's not too hard because we went ahead and worked through it with our fingers. First, so yeah we're gon na go ahead and do that same process to my whole entire head, and when i'm done with that, i will get right back okay. So this is the result of me going ahead and rubbing the oil all around and combing it out with this comb and to show you guys how much hair loss we lost in here, not much at all when you are super gentle. This is how much hair we lost period so now i'm going to go ahead and grab my pick and i'm gon na go ahead. Okay, so now we spread it with that. I'M gon na go ahead and put some of this in it blue magic. So i'm gon na grab a little more and focus on the edges of my hair, okay and then now again, i'm gon na get the oil and rub it in my edges, right on top of that, okay. So now what i'm gon na do is use this comb and the blow dryer to blow it out. So i went ahead and decided to do a little voiceover for this part. So, basically, i'm just splitting my hair into three sections um so that i can go ahead and use a brush and blow dry, my hair out that way. So it's a little bit easier to use. So basically, in this clip, i'm gon na go ahead and take some of the grease and put it through the section part of my hair before i brush it. So i'm gon na go ahead and take my pick and gently comb through it before i do anything else. So now we're taking the brush and the blow dryer and gently just stroking it through my hair, really slow so that it can give it a looser feel. So i can blow it out so we're gon na go ahead and do that same process to my entire head. So you guys will see back when it is finished. Okay. So this is the final blowout look, so i did a tiny little photo shoot for you guys per. I know most people are gon na think. Well, it's not really blown out like two. It'S not really super straight! Well. Personally, i don't wan na put too much heat on my hair and i personally don't like to sit there and blow out my hair completely like that. I like to just get it to a point where i can work with it to where it is doable. It is soft, it is smooth, it is basically done. I know it looks like really short, but the shrinkage is crazy, but i think it is absolutely amazing, so yeah um, basically i'm gon na, go ahead and clean up what i'm not gon na use anymore. What i've already used and then i will be back with the hair and the racks and stuff, so don't want my hair right now, but i'm gon na go ahead and part my hair and then we're gon na go ahead and start the braiding process um. I just wan na, let you guys know i am not a professional braider. The parts are not gon na be extremely straight. I don't have a front and back mirror to look at so i am doing my absolute best. It'S not gon na come out perfect, but i absolutely love how i do my hair and yeah. So i just want to let you guys know in case you see a line you're like oh, my god. It'S not straight it's! Okay! It'S okay! Just see the progress! You know i'll stop, you know here and there to let you like see up close and stuff like that. It'S been a minute, so don't judge now that i am using um the 58 inch pre-stretch braiding hair by expression, hair or yeah expression here, so yeah we're just going to go ahead and get into the video right now. First, i've got a take all my hair and separate it on to my little rack that i have so yeah we're gon na get into that. I am gon na go ahead and probably watch some youtube myself or you know, listen to some music. While i do this so that to keep me entertained so that i am not mad bored for the next 10 hours, but yeah, okay, so from here on out you're gon na be mostly seeing a time lapse or hearing a voiceover um from here and there. I might talk, or i might stop to show you, but mostly it will be a voiceover so right here i am parting, my hair, okay. So after parting, that piece i'm going to put this piece up here and then, after that, we're going to go ahead and moisturize the bottom piece so that we can separate it and immediately start braiding. So what you're going to see is you're going to see me moisturizing it and separating it to braid after that, you guys will just see straight a time lapse of me starting to braid my hair okay, so i am going ahead and adding in the shine and Jam on every side of my hair, i'm going to make sure that it is in there nice and good so that it can look very neat and very sleek and it'll be easy for me to go ahead and put the braid in. So i'm going to go ahead and twist it and it should be ready for a braid okay. So now right here, i am installing my very first braid, so you guys will just see a time lapse of me. Braiding my hair and i did end up. Turning on some youtube, so you'll see me watching that, but yeah, i hope you enjoyed this time lapse. Okay, so here is an update. It is currently 403 a.m. I'Ve gotten the back four braids done and i still have all of this, and it is only it's 4 a.m. Yeah. I honestly am ready to go to sleep, but you know i've been watching my favorite youtubers resetting corn. You already know and trying to keep myself awake so that i can finish, i'm really nervous because i work in like 13 hours, so i'm very nervous to see. If i can finish this and get sleep, don't mind my crusty lips guys, because again it's so early in the morning, i'm very nervous. I was wanting to get my nails done, but honestly they don't even matter i'm just gon na try to finish my hair and then go to sleep in about three hours. I got ta throw in some. Actually i don't even think i'm gon na do laundry honestly. Y'All, i don't even think i'm gon na do laundry like. I was planning because look at how much i have to do so. Honestly, i'm just going to be chewing down at my hair and then not chewing down with you know what i mean trying to finish. My hair and then i'm going to go ahead and go straight to sleep for as long as i can before. I have to go to work because, but okay, so i'll update you guys soon. So this is what we have so far stand up to what you guys see: okay, so now that you guys see this, i'm gon na go ahead and hit you guys back when i finish this row. Okay, guys, it is currently 5 17 a.m on the dots, and this is how much i've gotten done so far i haven't finished um the roll completely. Yet i think i have one or two braids to do on this world y'all. I am actually dead, tired right now. Um i'm gon na go ahead and wrap my hair up a little bit and then i'm gon na take uh a nap until 7am and then at 7am. I got to wake up and throw laundry in and then i'm gon na get back to doing my hair. When i get back to doing my hair, i will get back to you guys, then so i'll see you guys at around 7 a.m. Hi guys um! It is a little bit later than expected because i was so tired um, it is currently 9 21. euro got mad tired, so i'm gon na go ahead and take this out. It girl got so tired and it was even so hard to wake up and even try to finish this, but i know that i have to go to work later, so i could not sleep in any longer straight into it. Okay, so yes guys i was just singing and stuff, but this is where we are at. We only have like three braids on this find this row that i have and then we have this row here. I'M not sure it's probably gon na just be one row and then we are going to move on to the front. It is currently 11 33 a.m. I'Ve been making pretty good progress, but yeah, so we're just gon na go hop right back into that time lapse. So you guys can see me braid my hair, so update. We got that we have one more for the back to do. We have just this little piece here for the back. That'S gon na lay back this way, and then we have all of this to do. For the front, that's going to go like this hi guys, i don't know, i'm kind of excited it kind of went faster than i expected, but yep, so we're going to go ahead and keep going and i'll get back to you guys when i am done doing This okay, so we have finished the entire back part of my head and just have this part to do but y'all i work at five, so i got ta hurry up, but yeah your girl has been getting it done. It looks so good y'all, it's been a minute since i've done my hair, it's crazy that looks as good. I'M gon na go ahead and start trying to knock this out before i run out of time. Okay, so we're gon na go ahead and start this. You guys can finally go through a time lapse of me, starting the first side of my head. Okay, so i did want to kind of install a little mess up that i did on the braid um when you mess up like this, like it's not tight enough. Don'T be afraid to take it down and um redo it. Yes, i look frustrated because i was but don't be afraid to take it down and redo it, because it'll be all worth it in the end, okay and so like for flyaways and stuff like this. Do not mind my acne ew, but for flyaways and stuff like this, you want you can just cut it off. I don't know if you guys can see that oh yeah, you can see that for stuff like that. It just happens when it gets a little tangled up, but it's whatever you can just like, take scissors to it and cut it. I'D watch out. If you have some up here because, like you, can cut your hair but down there, you can just cut it with scissors. Oh my gosh! Finally, we got half of it done like well, we got this half done. It is 248 yo. That'S actually pretty good, not gon na lie and that side's, not that side's done. That sounds about alright, let's get into it. Your girl is, your girl is tired, god, three or four braids left and we are done, and it is currently 3 32 p.m and your girl works at five. It'S pretty good timing. We got some time because i still have to go ahead and dip. My braids, when i'm done, go ahead and get back to braiding and we'll be done soon. Okay, guys, we are finally down to our last two. You understand how freaking happy i am been doing this for the longest time and we are finally down to the last two braids. It is 3 41 period last braid, okay, it i'm just so happy right now, because last braid it is 402 p.m guys i could not be happier to be on my last break right now. Every time i do this i'll be forgetting i'll be like that does take a lot of dedication and it takes a lot of time. Okay, so we're gon na get into this last braid right now. Okay, guys, we are almost done so now. What i'm gon na do is i'm gon na go through and look for p like ends that are like um, not fully braided or started unbraiding and then braid them all the way down and then um i'm gon na do that off camera just really quickly, because It is 4 12 and i do have to be at work at five, so yeah, that's what we're gon na do. I'M gon na go through and of course, touch it up and like cut the little um little fly, aways and stuff like that, and then i'll be right back with you guys. I am back what i did was i cut off the little flyaway pieces and i touched up the ends so now we're gon na go ahead and use a little bit of our hollywood hair bar slime. It is currently 4 30 and i have to be at work in 30 minutes, so i'm gon na just quickly throw it in there and honestly, it's like okay, because i already have some in my hair so and that's good guys. Sorry, apologies for, like the lighting or whatever, but we just finished dipping it. It is finally fully complete okay, so i'm gon na go ahead and wrap up this video.
