Whether you're looking for a homecoming hairstyle or an everyday look, this side elastic braid is one of my absolute favorite hairstyles! This DIY hairstyle may look complicated, but in reality it is super simple and quick to do! You will love this look for a prom hairstyle, a holiday party hairstyle, or even a romantic beach hairstyle look
To recreate this DIY hairstyle tutorial you begin by creating a lace braid on the side of the head near the temple. Only adding hair into the one side of the braid. Then I go back and pancake the hair to add fullness and fluff.
Once the lace braid is secure then I take the lace braid and another small piece of hair from the other side. Secure them together.
From this point on you just need to take one piece of hair from each side, twist the hair, and then secure them with an elastic. Go back and tug on the hair to loosen the twists and make it look so pretty and full.
The ease comes from you only needing to use a few elastics and twists. But the braid itself looks so amazing and beautiful. It looks like a fancy french braid or a fax french braid.

( upbeat music, ), Hey everyone., I'm Jordan from Braids by Jordan, and today I'm going to be showing you how to do a side, elastic braid.. This is one of my all time, favorite hairstyles, so I'm super excited to be sharing it with you.. If you haven't already subscribed to cute girls, hairstyles make sure to hit the subscribe button and give this video a big thumbs. Up. Lets get to the hairstyle.. I started off this style by taking a section of hair from the front of the head and dividing it into three to start a regular three strand, braid. ( upbeat music, ), And then I went back and pancaked the braid by puling gently on the edges. To give it more volume. ( upbeat music ), Once the braid is long enough to reach the back of the head, secure the braid with a clear baby elastic and take a small section of hair from the back of the head and twist it towards the braid.. Then take the braid back towards the twist and secure them together with a clear baby. Elastic. You want it to lie just off to the side where the braid is., Then I went back and pulled on the edges of the twist to give it more volume. Then removed the remaining elastic from the braid.. Then take a new section of hair from just beside the first twist and another section from just below the braid., Then secure the two pieces of hair towards the back of the head just a little bit further behind the first elastic.. You want the front section to cover the first elastic.. Then you want to flip the pony tail, so take the ends and pull them down into the middle of the two sections., And now that each set is twisted, I'm just going back and pancaking the twist to give it more volume.. The easiest way to do this is hold onto the elastic and pull the twist with the other hand.. And then you want to repeat those steps so take a new section of hair from each side of the head and then secure them together. But this time secure them closer to the ear., Then put the ponytail to twist each side and pancake the edges to give it more volume.. If the twist doesn't completely cover the previous elastic, you can take a bobby, pin and secure the twist on top of it. And continue those steps all the way down, alternating which side the ponytail goes on and making sure that the braid is angled down to the Side., I find it easiest to secure the ponytails when the rest of the hair is moved out of the way. ( upbeat music ). Once you reach the end of the hair, you can go back and pull on the edges of the braid and pin any pieces. If necessary. And that's it.
