Hey y'all, welcome back to my channel this week is my anniversary trip, so that means I have to figure out what to do with my hair. Now I had planned for the stylist. I did my hair last year. She did Molly it's for my honeymoon to do. My hair for my anniversary trip, but it really didn't work out. I wanted her to actually do it where I would have a great deal of versatility, be able to part down the middle part along the sides. Also be able to put my hair up. Just have a great deal of versatility, and while I was able to create the versatility that I desired, mine does not look as sleek as it would have if my stylist were able to do it, but she had a last-minute family emergency and I absolutely understand, because Things happen, but your girl was left to do it so and I feel like I did a good job, but it could have been done so so much better. So I'm gon na walk you all through the steps of what I did and also just some things, to keep in mind so that yours looks much better than mine. I did not breathe tight at all. I did not want it to be super tight, but I also didn't want it this loose either. I thought that once I crocheted the hair in that it would give me a tighter look but y'all it didn't work. So I did partial and that's what my stylist was gon na do as well, so I want a partial cornrow and partial individual, so in the middle actually did cornrows, and this is a pattern that I used yeah. I could not see what I was doing, so it does not look good at all. The front grades are not that neat either and in the back Gerard. My husband is gon na actually have to help me because I was struggling you're parting. My hair was such a challenge, but I made it through it. This is the hair that I use is free, tres, braids, boho, hippie braids, and this is from diva tres it's in Lin 22 and I got mine in color 1b and also uncover one. So I got nine packs, total and three of the packs were in one beat the other six were in color one, and these are the variety of colors that it comes in. So I love that about it and I like that. It'S not just a simple braid, but it has some curly strands on the side, which is just so so beautiful so now baby's here, because he knows that I really need his help parting, my hair. In the back and y'all. I thought I thought he was doing a good job, but what I saw the back of it's like Perillo, come on Gerard dude. You don't even got a part to relax, relax, relax. You got this from there. I mean I would do the whole thing busy talking. All that junk, I thought he was seriously killing it, but y'all about to see. So I wanted him to do a part down the middle so that I could actually do two rows of braids in that area and my philosophy behind that was so that I could pull the braids up in the back and you wouldn't be able to see the Area where our corn rode the here, take it from me guys when you're going about this process, if you're not able to part your hair off on your own, have a friend who knows what they're doing my husband did not know what he was doing. Look at that part, it's not straight at all, but uh. This is the product that I use on my roots, so I just applied a generous amount of the product and then I proceeded to plat my hair now, at the end, probably about the last - and I finished it off with a twist once again, keep in mind That you can break your hair, much tighter at the root so that you can have better results. But this is just what I did so baby's back and he did come up with a great idea in order to keep the hair parted and reduced the amount of time that he had to keep coming back and forth. So he parted a section rolled it and then out of the bobby pin, and he thinks he knows what he's dumping he's hilarious aw, so he's just painting my hair off, so he doesn't have to keep coming back and forth just making him welcome to your for Him and just keep this in mind for those who are working with you, your friend or whoever. This is just a good tip to you, so thanks Gerard good idea. So after he's done this, I'm just gon na proceed to plot the rest of my hair and begin the installation process. Are you all so now it's time to install? This is what the hair looks like. Once again, I started with the color 1b first and I loved that the loops are really open on these particular crochet looped box braids. This is what the strands look like. You have some curly on the side and also on the ends and the bird in the middle. Now for this install I'm kind of working backward, because I would typically start in the back and then work my way to the front. But this time I'm starting in the front because I wanted to do the hardest part first, so I started with the individual crochet braids, so I'm just inserting the crochet needle and then taking the loop, putting it on the crochet hook, sliding that through the braid at The root, then I'm gon na pull the crocheting needle up and through the loop and then you're gon na. Take that hair on the end you're going to wrap that around the hook close the latch hook and then you're just going to pull that through the crochet loop. That'S created in this brain after doing that, you're gon na pull some of the hair through remove the crochet needle and then pull all then here fully through the loop, tighten it and then we're gon na begin to intertwine our here with the crochet boxspring here. So this is what it looks like currently the loop. I thought it was gon na be so much tighter on my roots, but disregard that now, starting at the base of the crochet box, great you're, going to insert the crochet needle and then you're gon na put your hair on the latch hook. Close, the needle and then you're going to pull that through and you're gon na continue this process going in and out weaving the hair in with your here so you're gon na. Do it all the way till you get down to the length of your hair and it's fallen concealed you're gon na complete the individual crochet braids in the front? And then I went to the middle doing the regular corn roll crochet grading method, which is so easy in standard and then once that's complete. I need the back and I actually wait until the night time to do the back, where I could actually see it in the mirror. So I'm gon na, let you all watch that process and then I'll come back on one arie. Also, these are the finished results. I was so happy to be finished, like literally three old party was torture. Um. This process is not necessarily difficult. It'S just tedious. It took me probably about six hours to do this. Install and many of you guys, if you can box prayed and that's something that you're good at and you're quick with it, you can probably do a regular box free, install at the same amount of time that I'd be it this particular install. So it's not really gon na do too much in regards to saving you time. It will say some but not like a whole lot, but it is gon na be easier if you're somebody, that's a beginner I'd recommend doing the regular corn roll all over your hair and install the crochet box braids. That way, that meant it was so much easier and so much faster. I love that method and I actually wish I had done that for this install because I wasn't expecting for it to take this long yeah. I'M not even expecting to do this myself, so just give me a pass on how it doesn't look that neat and that it took me six hours like just eliminate all that, but you can put it up. You can do a great deal of styling and I'm gon na show you all different options at the end, but that's the end of this video. I hope that you all thoroughly enjoyed it be sure to leave a comment down in the comment section like this video and subscribe. If you haven't already - and I will see you all in my next video love y'all, the next one will be a vlog bye. Oh, I wish you would make up your mind. I can tell by the look in your eyes: you're not happy with the menu standing by I've been watching you with his watery eyes, he's my so come to me. I got what you need just go I'll make you! Oh you just it's funny how you came across my back. I can give you that good, loving back, we'll add a nurse so place the other mister in your bed. To me, I got what you need just I'll, be I'll make you smile you just I just wan na talk to you and see what this can do. It'S just gon na be a stool. This baby, this love was majors.

OkaythenRow: I actually love that the braids weren't tight to the scalp and that the parts weren't straight. It makes the finished look so much more natural, Mary. I love them!!!

NubianJoi: FYI, consider threading the crochet hook thru the braid extension (approx.mid braid to root - based on the length of your hair) to pull natural hair thru extension. This way, you won’t have to repeatedly inserting latch hook to thread your hair. Meanwhile, the last style (messy top knot w/ the end cascading to the side) ❤️....really pretty‼️...Also, I’ve been braiding my hair in all types of styles (longer than you’ve been born) for years, but I can NOT part my hair anymore. It so frustrating! It takes me the entire weekend to braids, twists & or cornrows because my parts are jacked up. And like your husband, mine’s tries to help me “〰️” ,.....well let’s just say Stevie Wonder plz be on stand by next week-end!!!!! Happy Anniversary too you both ‼️

bosslady1598: Mary, the more you do it, the better it will get. It took me about 12 times to learn what works for my head. Great job for your first time. And one other thing I do is wash and braid hair one day and the next day, I input the crochets. It's easier for me. And it only takes about 1 1/2 hour to do!

keishla spivey: It looks great , Gerard was funny holding the bobby pin against his palm. You've been teaching him well. Thank you also for the tutorial on doing the faux locs, just installed mine last night. I shared that locs video with one of my coworkers, she loved it. GOD BLESS

After all hair isn’t meant to be perfect. Where’s the fun in that, nothing is perfect ❗️ I’m an established subbie. I remember prior videos when Gerard was courting you & you’all visited his/your families. I also recall when Gerard participated in a marathon & became ill/hospitalized. Divatress: Yass! So pretty!

Mona Trimble: I love it

Tanya Anderson: Good try even if you didnt like it 100%. This process of crochet through the hair never seems to work for me because at some point early on my braided hair will end up coming out and sticking out. Hope it worked for the timeframe you need it to.

Jet Lee: Jerald is hilarious. Love the style.

Ada Mbata: Gerard's parting technique , but I love that he tried to get it right

Sarah Shell: Beautiful

Michelle Brooks: So talented mary you're so pretty girl

margarita categoria: Did you use all the 9 packs?

Anita Collins: Mary! How long did this take you?

Ms Stewart-Washington: He gets an E for effort.

tammy taylor: I made sure my parts in the front and sides were straight, I didn't care about the back. Because you can't see the parts anyway. I finger parted the back. I used hair and did the box braids. I'm going to let it dread. I tried a couple of years ago, but the directions that this website suggested made my hair weaker and too much breakage. So I cut my hair short and grew it out to almost shoulder length in the back. I can't even remember the name of it.

T G: Wow. What patience. I could only dream of that.

JL: Mary what are you talking about?! you did amazing! Hair looks

Sydney Jones: My favorite

Copper Fox: Great Teamwork!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️

Andrea Wilson: Great job mary

Brianna Collie: Happy anniversary!
