Hi here I demonstrate how to do a dutch braid (boxer braids) for beginners. This is similar to a french braid except the outer strands go under the middle strands instead of over.

Hi guys, my name is schisms, and today i am going to be showing you guys how I got these Dutch braids. This is one of the hardest tutorial to probably teach I tried to explain the best way can what to do with your fingers. So I hope that that could be even more helpful to you guys, so I'm gon na learn how to Dutch braid then keep watching. Please don't start! This is round two of me trying to film this video because this dog keeps barking outside. I did not realize I did the whole video, my back hurting to do this dutch phrase and then I went back to edit and this dog was barking throughout my whole video and I was like I have to do it again. So what I taught this dog isn't [, __ ] again but round two here we go so you want to make sure you have a center part. I like to use the bridge of my nose as a guide, so I just pretty much go here and then get that center part which I already did and make sure to get a clean center part in the back as well, because the worst thing is when You forget about the back and then you have like a zigzag thing going on back there, but hey! You know the side that you're gon na work with you leave out and then this site you want to make sure you completely put it away. Ah, I like to use a pomade because I feel like it gets its leak over here, so I'm gon na use them up pomade. But if you guys don't like thicker consistency, is you guys don't have to I'm just gon na use it I'm using way back from me, and I love that this time you guys, how am I gon na film this if this dog is barking? Okay, anyways? Let'S hope it's calm, so I get the pomade and kind of put it on my roots. Wherever the part is I just kind of put it over, there put it back here and right there, so it could have a sleek look, so you want to start off with the triangular section in the very front. So you want to make sure that you have your hands in this angle, because what, if you have it here, your brain is gon na go down here. If you have it up here, your brain is gon na go that way, and you want to make sure you have it in the angle that you want the braid to go. So I'm going to split it into three sections. So now I have a front section, a middle section and a back section. The sections on the outside will always go under the middle and switch places with that middle section, and then you are going to have to gather new hair in between all that which I'll display right now, they're gon na start here, you're gon na take that front Section and switch it with that middle section going under it. So now they have switched places you're gon na do the same thing with the back section. I'M gon na switch it with that middle section going under and now they're switched places. So now I'm gon na do it one more time this front section, put it under the middle section and switch places. So now I'm gon na start grabbing hair. The way I start, adding hair is but like this so now the middle section, I'm going to use my index finger as a table, so I'm gon na place the middle section on top, which allows me to free up the other hand, and now I can use My thumb to grab extra hair connect it with the back section. Then I use that same index finger to grab on to that back section, and I now am able to switch it so now that middle section is now in the back now so same thing with the front, I'm gon na use my index finger to go under That middle section and use it as a table to now free up this hand. I use my thumb to grab more hair connect to that front section, and now I use my index to hold it and switch it same thing. I'M gon na use my index finger. Put the middle section on top of it now it frees up this hand. I use my thumb to grab hair connect it with that back section and then that same index finger. That'S holding that thing on top I'm gon na use it. I'M gon na put it on the bottom and hold that section, so I can now switch it. So we're going to be doing that throughout the whole time I'm going to grab put the middle section. On top of my index finger free up the other hand, grab extra hair connect it to the back section, hold it now, with my index finger and now it allows me to switch that make that switch so same thing, and I just do the same thing throughout The rest of the Strad use the index to put that middle section on top and it frees up this section, so you could grab more hair. Add it to that back section, and now you move that middle section. So it could switch sides over that back section and you want to make sure that you grab this last section pretty early on and it's even because if you grab it down here, if you're taking really small sections - and you grab it down here - it's gon na Sag right there, so I took that whole. I took that extra piece and just put it together since it's already at the end, and now I can start braiding once you gathered all the hair, you can now start doing your braids and I just do a regular three strand, braid down the rest of my Hair and then I'm going to use an elastic, a little elastic to tie it off. So now we are on this side and I'm gon na do the same thing. I'M gon na grab a little bit of pomade. Put it on my roots. I'M gon na get a triangular section, split that into three equal sections. The front is going to go under the middle switch places. Then the back is going to switch places with the middle. Then I'm gon na do the front one more time to switch places and now I'm gon na start getting new hair. So now I am going to use that index finger as a table for that middle section, which frees up this hand. I'M gon na get some hair attach it to that back section, and now I switch it same thing, I'm going to use that as a table, grab extra hair and attach it to that hand the strand in the front and then switch it over you're gon na Use that as a table grab some hair attach it to that back section switch it over and I just keep doing this throughout the rest of the strand grab hair. I touch it to that back section now, the one on top of the index fingers switch it over once you're done getting all the new hair. You do a three strand braid throughout the rest of the strand, and then I'm gon na go ahead and tie it off with an elastic. So this is the final look to Dutch braids. I know this is gon na. Take a couple of tries, especially if you are beginning to this, just try to get in the motion of it.
