If you feel like your ends are constantly straggly, like you can't get any volume in like everything you do to your hair. Just doesn't work out. Trust me. I have been there if you are new here. My name is Gabby and I have been a makeup and hair stylist for 17 years and believe it or not. I also have fine hair. If you don't believe me, you can see how fine it is in this video. In fact, I even had a hair transplant because I had so much thinning and you can see that here and here and here because I have personally experienced it. I have mastered fine, hair techniques, tricks and tips, and I am so happy to share some of that knowledge with you today. Today, we're going to be talking all about haircuts that people with thin fine hair love. These are haircuts that will literally trick people into thinking that your thin hair is actually thick, but this week you don't just have to listen to me. Tell you all about it, because I have an amazing special guest here today, and it is summer from the channel styles by summer. If you guys don't follow her already. I highly suggest that you go check out her Channel because her content is amazing. She does cut and color tutorials product reviews. She also gives tips and tricks on maximizing the potential of fine hair. She has fine hair as well welcome to the Channel summer, I'm just so honored to have you here today, hey Gabby, I am so excited to talk. Hair with you today, okay, and what better topic than Cuts us right up my alley with all my cutting tutorials and because we both have fine hair. I am so happy that I can give some insight for cut options that work well with our hair type haircut idea. Number one is the blunt Bob I'm not kidding when I tell you that the blunt Bob will make even the thinnest hair appear significantly thicker. The reason for this is because the shorter you go and the blunter you go, which basically means no layering at all the heavier the Baseline appears when the Baseline of the hair looks dense. The hair in turn looks dense as well. This really is an illusion that tricks the eye into thinking that the hair is much thicker than it actually is. You can get a blunt Bob that is even all the way around. You can get a blunt Bob that is angled slightly, so it gets a little longer at the front. You can do it without a fringe or you can do it with a fringe, and there are endless possibilities for the types of Fringe that you can choose. You can get bangs that have a little more texture through them or ones. That are a little more blunt if you've never tried a bob, but you've always been interested in it. Maybe this is the year that you take the leap. It really will make your hair look much much thicker, I guarantee it. One thing that I do want to tell you about this haircut, though, is that because it's short and it's wide, it does add volume to the face. So if you have a very round face or you're self-conscious about weight around your chin or your neck or even your cheeks, this probably isn't the right cut for you. If you have a long skinny face. On the other hand, this will give you some really beautiful balance, and it may be exactly what you're looking for. I love the option of a blunt Bob. It is great for all the reasons you just said. A fun twist to that cut is simply just adding in some soft or longer layers. This is a great option for those who love a Bop, but maybe you don't want as much weight at the perimeter of your cut or you want some added movement and texture. It adds just enough movement when adding in curls or when having it straight. You can go in with a texture, spray or paste to show off that movement created from those light layers, and I have a tutorial on my Channel that I show you guys my favorite way to add in those layers and textures to a bob so that you Can get much more movement out of it, but still maintain that fullness in your fine hair? At the same time, the next haircut idea that I have for you is The Big C. Bixies are trending like crazy right now, and I spoke all about them in my 2023 haircut Trends. Video. The reason it is called a Big C is because it sits in between a bob and a pixie. This is a super cool haircut because it's very current and it really Embraces all of that: layering the edginess and the texture that we're seeing in modern day, hair cutting. It is super super trendy right now. You can go a little longer with this and rock like a short shag style, or you can have one side longer than the other and wear it as an asymmetrical style. You can do an undercut where you shave some of it and have the longer hair lay over it. This is literally one of my all-time favorite haircuts of the moment, and I really wish that I had the right texture and the right face shape to pull it off, because this 100 would be the haircut that I'd be rocking in 2023. If I could guarantee that it was going to work for me, what's your next suggestion summer, oh my gosh Gabby, I love bixies. They really are so fun and so edgy. Another cut option, though, that is great for those not wanting the plunge of a pixie or as edgy, is a shoulder one length cut with either a full or side swept bang, leaving at one length in the back is going to allow you to maintain as much Thickness, as you naturally have, but a bang is an amazing way to change up your whole entire look. Bangs can actually make your hair look thicker and it can make you look younger, giving you a more youthful appearance with a side bonus of hiding any wrinkles that you may be bothered by. I also I love the way the bangs look when the rest of the hair is pulled back. It just adds such a nice contrast and a fun look to one's overall style. You can also add in some minimal face framing as well. If you want a little bit more movement to this style and at the shoulder length, you still have that option to add in some curls as well. I have a tutorial on this cut and I walk you through exactly how to add in face framing layers, while not removing too much of the thickness that someone with fine or thinner hair might want to keep summer. I love that option because you are still keeping length if you want length but you're, adding like a ton of visual interest to the hair at the front. Another longer idea that is fantastic for fine hair is a lob or a mid-length cut. A mid-length cut is really versatile because it gives you the thickness illusion of shorter hair, The Styling flexibility of longer hair, all while being very polished. You can do this in a blunt way if you want, or with soft layers, it's the longer version of the Bob. We spoke about before so, if you want a bob but you're not really ready to commit to it yet or you've had long hair, your whole life and you're scared. Try this instead try this variation out. I think you might really really enjoy it and it's not as shocking as going from long right to shore summer what else you have in store for us. So my last suggestion is a little out of the box for finer thin hair, but I am so obsessed with the butterfly cut for finer, thinner, hair. This cut does need to be modified, but if done right, it can be a total Game. Changer - and I recently took the plunge myself and I got this cotton I feel like I am living my best life now warning, though even with it modified to fit your hair density. This cut will not leave you with as much fullness at your perimeter as the other Cuts mentioned because of the layers added in, but it will help to give you so much more volume and height at your root, which I know is a constant struggle with fine Hair, I have a cutting tutorial playlist that has cut specifically geared towards finer hair, where I modify the cut to give movement like a butterfly cut, but also not compromise the natural density as much. So it's definitely worth checking out to get some more ideas. If this type of cut is something that you would like with your finer thinner, hair, let us know if any of these inspired your next big haircut will be hanging out in the comments section today to chat with you about it and answer any questions that you May have so if you want to communicate with us, do it in the comments section guys we're going to be there today summer, and I did another video on her Channel all about the best hot tools that we've discovered for fine hair and there are some on There that are literally going to be life-changing for you, so go and check that one out next, this video is over. Thank you.

Glam Girl Gabi: Thanks for watching Hair Fam! If you want to watch the video that I did with Summer on her channel, you can check it out right here! **6 Key Styling Tools for Fine Hair: https://youtu.be/rfPK3GOpaqs

Styles By Summer: It was SO FUN working with you for this video!

Judi Meyers: Gabi, I just found you! I’ve since watched several of your videos, truly enjoyed them, and subscribed … NO hesitation! You are clearly super experienced and talented and I’m looking forward to learning from you. Have been fascinated with makeup since a little girl, but I am stumped. My veins are really blue/purple, but my skin tone is definitely more golden/neutral. None of the usual things you look for in discerning undertone seem to clearly apply to me! I can find foundations that work, and all the brown/bronze etc eyeshadows. But I want to explore pink tones and lipstick-but don’t know where to begin!!! Any guidance?? ❤️

Oelfah Rautenbach: Hi Gabi and Summer . I loved this collaboration so much! You both are my favorite content creators! This was such a fun video, please do more collaborations.

Ric Calendar: Great video and your interaction with Summer is excellent. I will definitely check out her channel. A video for women 70+ with finer and/or thinning hair would be great, especially in grey or silver tones. Thanks so much Gabi! Roberta

Teresa Sorrels: Gabi, love your channel, you’re so fortunate to have such full, beautiful, versatile hair. Your hair may be fine, but you have an abundance. All the cuts you and Summer showed looked great, but none can be styled when your hair is wavy, thinning and frizzy through out. All the cuts are smooth and have blunt ends. Hair that’s frizzy can not carry these styles , without frying w heat tools.

Wendy: Hey Gabi and Summer I love both of you it's so good to see this collaboration with you both together especially with a hot tools you guys rock favorite YouTubers 100% for sure

Maria DeSantis: Gabi I love these cuts! Ugh! I love those short pixi cuts as well but my hair is course, thick and curly and I would look like I was auditioning to play a Q-Tip or a toilet bowl brush! A gal can dream lol! I loved this collaboration with summer, so fun! ❤❤

Irina Luchian: Love this collaboration ladies, thank you for the great ideas and inspiration! I checked all the comments and your replies and I'm looking forward to that curly cuts video Gabi! I was wondering, do you think you could include some ideas for postpartum fine curly hair (low maintenance)? I have fine curly type 2 hair, 1 year postpartum with hair fall of almost 40% , now about 5 cm regrowth that looks like a micro curly bangs that spreads on the sides and top of my ears. If I straighten my hair, the regrowth will curl back in few hours. Putting my hair up, will result in a Jane Austen hairstyle ... needless to say out of style. It's a one length lob now (diy), but still looks weird with all this length, thin from the ears down and this silly micro bangs. Is waiting patiently the only solution for this postpartum hair loss?

TheOddPixel: I recently went form having dreadlocks for 5 years to a blunt bob - I have fine, thin hair and both the dreadlocks and the blunt bob have done wonders for adding volume. I have recently added a curtain bang and had some "invisible" layering put in just to take some of the weight out at the base line and give me a bit more volume at the roots.

gina cheselka: I had to click on this video and watch it you are amazing Gabi ❤️ I can't wait to start following summer just haven't been feeling well or sleeping well but believe me I'm going to be catching up on all of your videos that I missed one I'm feeling. Sending big hugs

Jan McMahon: You two are life savers. I have been searching for fine hair videos for years and you guys nailed it. I would love more videos on styling the bixie with volume products you both recommend Thank you

A knee moose: Love the butterfly cut. It’s great that you give terminology to use when communicating to a stylist. He does want to color my hair but instead I ask for more shine. Grey for 4 years and love it.

Nancy Lyon-Gray: I have skunk hair. Very thin and fine. You can see my scalp in places. I have a shoulder-length blunt bob for my fine blonde hair. I love watching you! You know all of the greatest tricks! Thank you so so much!

Megan: Trying to find the right cut for my hair! I have fine hair but a lot of it. I’ve tried the lob and bob but it looks super full at bottom and weighed down at top. Any suggestions for the fine hair but lots of it? Looking for lift, movement, fun, and polished looks! Thanks!

Lisa Swords: Love both of you!! So excited you both did this!! ❤️❤️

Diane Jimenez: Great.... haircuts !!! Thank you Gabi ..for always keeping us up to date.. with New haircuts ..and what will help us .. to choose.. what's best ..for our hair type.. and our face!!! Thank you Gabi and Summer for sharing...I will share too ..

Simina Popa: Amazing as always. Gabi, i love your hair in this vido...is there a tutorial for this style? I just cut my hair like yours so it would be very helpful. Thanks ladies, keep up the good work ✨️

trkish06: Love this post! I have fine to medium hair, luckily a fair amount of it, but am always looking for ways to tweak my style. The last couple years, have helped me to grow my hair out, so now I'm just below my shoulders with longer and minimal layers. Always looking for ways to give my style more volume at the root and density at my ends . Thank you thank you thank you !

Ruby Gregory: I have an appointment to cut my hair next week and this was very helpful as I have very long but very thin hair. I’m really considering the lob with fringe! My face is round and I do have a lack of chin. I hope it works out.

jennifer labino: thanks for the great suggestions ladies! I truly appreciate all of the advice and expertise you provide. I am planning on trying the blunt cut lob. I have fine naturally wavy hair, any tips on how to style natural wave with a lob? :)

D C: This was fantastic! I need a change for 2023! As always, you have amazing content and I will check out Summer's channel!!

Ladona0221: Gabi, I have a question for you. Can curtain bangs be styled to the side? I’ve only seen them parted in the middle. Thanks

Madmarsha: This is why I'm here. Looking for something new and possibly shorter for the summer as I transition to gray in 2023 but also eventually going longer back into fall. Had already been thinking of going full Beth Button so Summer had me with the pics of Kelly Reilly!

Genevieve Hodgins Laity: Another great video! What do you ladies recommend when it's thinner in the front but still full on thick in the back?

Sharon Hollod: Enjoyed your video so much. I too have fine hair and am struggling daily with it. The hardest part is finding a good stylist that knows what they’re doing. I live in Denver, Colorado, and I don’t know where to start. Any suggestions? Also what lip color and product are you wearing in this video Gabby? Beautiful! You are so beautiful inside and out. Any tips, I’m here. Thank you.

All The Things With Mandy and Whitney: I love this video! I subscribed to Summer! Love your videos Gabi!!!

Terry Wilkie: I love your channel!! have thinning hair in the back of my head (hair loss in my part). I am constantly having to try to cover the back by brushing my hair in the front to the back to cover my hair loss in the back. Is there a cut you would recommend? I have straight thin hair overall.

Atheria PsychicGal: I cut my very thinned out and very fine hair off into a blunt bob again a month ago and it does look thicker. It's already grown a little, but I cut it to an inch or so below my pointy chin. When I was young, I usually had bangs, and I'd like to get them again to make 56 years old me look younger, but I just don't have enough hair now...sigh. If I cut bangs, I'd have almost no other hair left. Whine...whine....sob....

Kaitlin: I have very fine thin hair also. Can you share more in-depth thoughts on the butterfly cut?

EMP: Oh boy! The dream team! I've been watching you both for advice!

monymony68: What cut do you recommend for someone who has the best of both worlds - fine hair and a round/heart shape face? . That’s me!

Julie Owen: Great video! Just wondering if the Lob or Butterfly cuts would suit a round face!! Please let me know! Thank you both for so many great ideas! ❤

Judy Mastrullo: Great video Ladies! I love all you ideas. My hair is not thin, but thick hair can be a pain as it can be too heavy. As much as i love the idea of the bixie, i wouldnt go there at this time as i just git finish growing out my pixie a year ago. But its such a cute style, maybe someday, just not now. I love the butterfly cut idea as that would solve some of my weight problems. Im going to bring that up to my daughter who is also my stylist too. I'd love to do a full bang too, but in the summer i sweat too much and i straighten my wavy hair. So that might be too much work once the heat hits. So ill stick with my curtain bangs for now. Thx for all the great ideas.

CaliforniaTami: These are all great cuts— the problem is finding someone that can give you the cut and do it right. Do you know or have any recommendations for the LA area ? Long shot I know — I’ve tried a lot .. and while most of my stylists have been wonderful.. thin fine hair just doesn’t seem to be their forte. Love your content!

Lisamarie Martinez: Loved it, thank you ladies

kymomandstuff: I recently chopped 5 inches and it's life changing for fine thinning hair.

Karen Hecht: Great video! But, here’s my dilemma; how to get your stylist to understand what you’re wanting. I’ve tried to get a Bob with some movement & bangs with a some fine layers to frame the face. I must not know how to correctly describe what I want. The cut never looks right. Maybe you could help me with describing the cut. ❤️ from a fine hair lover of your channel.

knit_bear2.0: I have fine naturally blonde hair so tend to go for a long bob which with soft waves looks good, but what would you recommend for a way to get waves without heat every day

Becky Kueng: I have such thin hair on top of my head and usually get a chin length blunt bob cut. However, I just can't get any lift on the top of my head where the hair is it's thinnest and looks so flat. I am afraid to get any layers for fear that it will make my thin, fine hair look even thinner. Any suggestions would be great .....Thanks for this video , It was so informative.

Christina Jacob: Hello, my hair is fine and very thin but it gets so curly it coils especially in the back. I tried one of the bobs but I have to flat iron it all the time because it gets so coily it shrivels up into about 3 to 4 coils and that’s my whole hair. Any suggestions?

Shenelle Ramjewan: I just got a bob yesterday I told myself this was my year to try it.

Sj Sp: Would love video on products for fine hair, thinning and aging hair You use many products maybe ranking them as best for this issue etc. Thanks!!

Milandie vdw: I've had bob length short hair many times before and I'm really considering getting n bob again cause my hair just feels bleh, but I'm scared cause currently my hair is the longest it's ever been even though it's really not that long.

Anny G: Trying to grow out layers from a short cut. Have fine textured hair, but lots of it with wavy in some spots straight in others. I think my hair might be demon possessed......it does the opposite of whatever way I try styling it. With product, without product....doesn't matter.. I like watching all your tips in your videos. The suggestions from Summer were great.

Roseann Mazik: I have naturally curly hair that has gotten thinner since I had COVID. Can I also get a blunt bob or do I need layers?

Jeanne Morris: Thanks ! Would love bangs but my hair on top is too thin to pull this off

Maria Ve: I asked my hair girl to pull my color through ugggh she left it on way to long now too dark. Told me to try dish soap, baking soda and clarifying shampoo did it once so far not much better ‍♀️

akacreamette: what if my hair is thinning in front but love bangs? I struggle with my bangs looking too thin since i am losing hair in front. what can i do?

Tiffany Thiel: I dont have fine hair, its medium but its thinning.. any video recommendations for that?

Prisha Bhalla: I have a quick question for the lob, will it be okay to have it done on a rounder face? You mentioned that a bob wouldn’t highlight features as well on a rounder face but how about a lob?!

H P: Hi just curious about layers. I watched one of your videos and absolutely love the cut (thinking about doing it tomorrow) and you say do NOT get layers in fine hair. This video is saying light layers is ok.

Amanda Hernandez: My hair is super fine and thin due to thyroid issues. I wish I could pull off a shorter hair cut,or at least to my shoulders, but my face is so round and chunky I'm afraid I'm just going to look more chunky

Samiha Humayra: We want part 2!!!!!!!!

Lisa Gonzalez: Thanks for sharing, great video❤

Linda King: I have hair loss at my bang line where I have a totally bare spot in the front part of my hair is just terribly thin back isn’t so bad and down the sides is very thin always has been I just need hair to grow. Plus I have larger ears

NinxyNoo: I’m thinking of a lob…..I’ve always had very long hair. I’m in my 50’s though so I don’t want it to look Mumsy.

Michael Halbritter: Great! I love Summers channel as much as yours!

Rhonda Respinto: Thanks you so much, (summer too) , love your vidoes!!what are your thoughts on an older lady with thin hair (almost 60)

ChalkItUp: Hi Gabi I sent your blunt bob video to my stylist and I am one cut away from growing out my base so there are no layers. He said next time he might want to add a layer at the crown for volume. I forget his terminology...point cut or something like that? One of your videos you suggested I not let him do additional layers. Should I resist a crown layer? I can use all the volume I can get. Thanks for your videos! I'm definitely going to start checking out Summer too.

Samiha Humayra: I've receding hairline. I've straight, thin and fine hair. I want to cut bangs. Which bangs can look good in me without showing receding hairline???

amina batmunkh: What about the curly/wavy haircut?

Jackie A: Gabi!!!!! I started wearing extensions 1 year ago! I’m scared to take them out!

Ashleigh Garry: Hi Gabby there is fine hair and really fine hair like the first photos on ur channel!! Could u do a video on that type of hair and what can be done... PLEASE!! Thank you

Maya: Wow love you both ❤

Rhona Klippenstein: None of this addresses hair for a 60+ woman who's hair is starting to thin out.

See The World : Shaggy top cut gave my thin hair more volume.

Jane Noffsinger: So what if you have a round chubby face? I have been working toward no layers and was planning a blunt bob….but you said it’s not for a round face….now what?!

Ishita Narula: Hi Gabi and Summer I have a chubby jawline and fine hair that fall flat next day of the hair wash what cut would u suggest? Thanks

DeNeice Smith: Hi Gabi and Summer, what hair cut/style would you suggest for a heavy woman with baby fine, straight hair that has a lot of fullness in the face and a large double chin?

Joanna Sutcliffe: Great video thank you

Samiha Humayra: I watch both of your video

Jan 2020: FYI - Not everyone has thick fine hair.

J Jam: Do you think hair colour will make a difference in making fine hair look denser? Blonde hair?

Shanni Jones: What about fine, curly aging hair?

Sarah Diaz: Please help me find a foundation for my rosacea skin. I’m 46 and I’m desperately wanting to look “normal” again. I’ve tried everything from BB to Bare Minerals

April M: How do you do a blunt Bob and not look young? I am an esthetician and I liked my short hair but alot of women said I looked way young

Erin C: I’m confused. You used a photo of Beth Dutton’s hair cute for several types of haircuts. What haircut does she have?

patricia pomponio: I love this video !! and i love bangs my problem is i wear glasses and i find that my bangs dont land right !!!!!!!! ggggggggggrrrr!!!

Libby Greenberg: Fine ,thin, natural curly hair cuts?

Zk Motivation: Whoever reading this, I pray that God visit your home with healing, blessings and miracles. Amen.

judy jenson: I for one am getting real sick of the "WALTER" hair style. Ever look at a Beagle dog with the ears hanging down? That is why i call it the "WALTER" after my neighbors dog. And the phony extensions are about wore out also.Every one has the same. I am retired stylist of 50 years behind the chair......

Tammy Dowell: I wish you had some natural curly hair cuts.

Abdul Qureshi: bangs dont llok on every face shape, what kind of hair stylist is she

Ashleigh Garry: Ps... From Ireland

DaBratt: Umm….Beth wears a wig!

Ani R: Pixie should be ur best friend

KimbWF: Is the intro pic the same woman?

Linda: Ibag

Linda: Ibag
