sha: You should do a hot oil treatment instead of a mask. I put oil on dry hair, shower cap or plastic bag it, then use a heating pad, towel out of the dryer, or one of those heating pad bonnet things (they go in the microwave I absolutely love mine) and then leave it on for 30 minutes minimum.
