How To Straighten Curly Hair | Diy Blowout & Silk Press On Natural Hair

Hi! Me again :)

As much as I love wearing my hair naturally curly, sometimes I like to change things up and silk press / straighten my hair. I've been using a round hairdryer brush which has saved me so much time! (and $$) The results are AMAZING and I don't think I'll be going to the salon anytime soon. Hope you enjoy this curly to straight tutorial and try it out!

Hello, everyone welcome, or welcome back to my channel in today's video, i'm going to be showing you how i straighten my hair. I don't do this super often, but when i do i like to make sure that it's humidity proof summer proof you name it. So, let's get started with the video i'm gon na prep myself mentally, because i know this is gon na take a long time so grab some popcorn and let's get started first things. First, i'm gon na grab my heat protectant. I'M gon na be linking this one down below as always, and make sure that, when you're applying this in your hair, you're not dripping it all over the place. The way i did you don't have to worry about it weighing your hair down, because this product is actually very light. Next, i'm going to part my hair, some of you are going to say i shouldn't do it this way, but i always start with the top of my head. You can start with the bottom, but this is how i've been doing it. This is how i'm going to continue to do it and if it works for you, let me know in the comments down below i like to work with smaller sections. So i'm going to section my hair off into smaller sections, like i said, and as you can see, i'm gon na work. Slowly and of course i forgot to mention the actual tool that i'm gon na be using for blow drying my hair. So this fun little contraption apparatus. I don't really know what it's called: it's a two in one round brush and blow dryer. So if you're not super skilled at using a round brush and a regular blow jar at the same time, this is amazing. It cuts the drying time in half, so, if you're looking to get one, of course, you can find it linked down below and that's basically it for this part of the tutorial. All you have to do is rinse and repeat: grab smaller sections, try to work slowly. If you can and start giving your hair some shape, so, as you can see, i'm twisting my hair, because i don't like my hair to be fully fully fully pinned straight. I like to have some volume so you'll see me twisting my hair with my fingers after i've blow dried it once i'm done with that big section of hair, i like to pin it away if you have pins and you like the curl that is just there. You can pin your hair into smaller sections and leave it on top of your hair and let it set, but because i'm going to be flat, ironing i'm not going to bother. Do that doing that. So i'm just going to put it in a bun and move on to the next part of my hair. So i'm about halfway down here. I wanted to show you what my hair looks like after blow drying it only as you can see. I don't need to flat iron it if it were winter time. I would just stop over here and just blow dry, my hair, but because it's summer - and this humidity out here is gon na try to get my hair to revert back. I'M gon na keep blow drying it and then i'm gon na move on to the next step, which is flat ironing. So if you have straighter hair or wavy hair, you might be able to get away with just blow drying it. So i'm done blow drying. My hair and i wanted to show you once more what it looks like look at that shine. Look at that bounce. You could really stop here, but i'm not doing all this work for nothing. So i'm gon na show you what i use to straighten my hair and to make sure that the style is locked in. So i like to use a little bit of the heat protectant once more, just to make sure that my hair is protected and we're preventing as much damage as possible, so i'll be using the same product as before. So my hair doesn't get weighed down and i only put it from the middle to the ends of my hair, so to make sure that i'm sealing the style in, like i said before, i'm going to be using the chase method, which is where you use the Flattering to trace either a comb or a brush like i'm using in this case, and this is just going to prevent any knots. I'M going to show you a close-up of what i'm doing exactly this section of hair is super thin and much smaller, because i have very curly hair in this part of my hair. So, as you can see, you just got ta brush your hair and then chase the brush with the flat iron. So this is the second to last piece by the time i'm done with this section. My arms are gon na be done for, but it's so worth it. I love doing these kinds of things at home. I love saving some money. I love learning how to take care of myself and how to be able to do these get these salon results. From my house, so i hope that you enjoyed learning with me today. I hope that you try this out. So if you do, let me know in the comments down below and also let me know if there's any more videos that you'd like to see from me. So yeah, thank you so much for watching and until the next time bye
