How To | Straighten Curly hair (Flat Iron Routine Curly To Straight)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaU5F-...

Tootsie Time

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxXTs...

You'Re as good as you get to see and you're watching Tootsie time and today I'll be showing you guys how I straighten my hair. You guys have requested this a lot, but ever since I cut my hair, it's been requested more. So since I've cut my hair, I'm going to show you guys how I straighten it. This is the first time I've straightened it since the haircutting video, I do not straighten my hair. Often I straighten my hair once every two weeks, so I guess you'll say that's twice a month, so it's been about two weeks and a day and I've straighten my hair. So I'm going to show you guys how I go from curly to dry to this. Basically, so, let's get into it, so I wash my hair using Giovanni's, conditioner and shampoo. I have plenty of videos on how I wash my hair, which I'll leave linked in the description box below, so you can see that nothing's changed. I still wash my hair. The same, even though I've cut my hair, so once my hair is nice and squeaky clean, I have to deep condition. I feel like this is the most important part of getting sleek results. I use any condition, as I have around today, I'm using my Ozzie 3-minute miroku moist and my shea moisture. I think it's like Jamaican black, castor oil. I just use whatever I have around, but I really do like Shea moistures and Ozzy's products. I put that all over my hair and I leave that in a bun overnight. So I go to sleep and I wake up the next morning. It'S kind of dry a little bit hard take out the ponytail and then, of course I have to rinse this out. So I give my hair a good rinse and then once I've, given that a good rinse, it feels super soft guys and the curls are pop in and it's kind of great, then I'm not done there. Now I have to put my heat. Protectant yyu protects, and I love using the Aussie, take the heat 3 minute miracle, deep treatment and say heat protectant is such as we sleep on three minutes, but I don't listen. Of course I leave this on for at least 20 minutes. I saturate my entire head with this stuff and leave it on for about 20 minutes, and then I rinse it out once I've rinsed that out my hairs even softer and it's nice and protected his deep conditioned and ready. So now I quickly optional. I have dry scalp, so I use this dandruff dry, scalp, right, shea moisture and just spray, my scalp and yeah. If you have dry scalp, then this is a good thing to try it's okay, then I use my mane and tail hair strengthening daily leave-in conditioning treatment. I spray that all over my hair, just to condition it some more and then, after that I do some more heat protector and I release Deford heat protection. Shine, mist and I love this stuff because it does keep my hair straight. So that is what I do and I do put a lot more product on Kure front because where's the most heat damaged and then I finish off some grapeseed oil. I don't mind which oh, but I like grape seed oil and, like I said the front of my hair, has been heat damaged. This isn't new damage. This has been this way for a very long time, and the heat damage has always gone to the root at the front. So the only way I want to get rid of that is if I was to just be bald in the front and that's what will happen so I just put more products on the front, so I don't make it any worse than what it is and it's Been working now I blow-dry I used to let my hair air dry, but I noticed when I let my hair air dry. I have to go over my hair with the flat iron more than once, so I don't like that. I prefer to go over it with one pass, so I blow-dry it to cut down the amount of heat I have to use with the flat iron, but it's up to you. I mean if your hair still straightens, if you don't blow dry it and cool, but I just get better results this way, and I do that on medium heat once I'm nice and blow-dried, it is time to flat iron. I use this lee stafford flatiron and it's got argan oil infused in the flatiron place. So they say I like this flying. It works it's whatever I section my hair in half and then I do half at a time. So, as you can see, that's how big my sections are, I don't do super small sections. I really can't be up now. This flat iron brush is something that really really helped get my hair, sleek and smooth. I got this from eBay. I will list everything on my shop that I'm using today and then I use the chase method and use my flat iron and the brush go down at the strands with my hair. One time on, I do not do more than one pause again. One pass is all I need and by the way, this is exactly how I straightened my hair before I cut it too, so this is a new routine. This is the same way. I'Ve been straining it before and after my haircut, so I just continued to use the chase method with my brush and Flatiron and, like I said, one pause only, and I just want to stress that I have not gotten any new heat damage, all the heat damage. I had before is what I had from before. This was what I had gotten before. I started straightening. My hair, like this, like I'm straight like this guy, has a warm pass back in the day when I used to straighten my hair, I would go over a million times. I wouldn't deep condition. First sometimes I would straighten on dirty hair, so that would damage my hair. So I want you guys to know that me doing this has not given me heat damage. This is how I've learnt to straighten my hair now and I haven't, got any new damage and it gets my hair, nice and sleek and straight yeah. The way I used to straighten my hair was ridiculous back in the day, but the damage is done now and you know what can I do after I've done all that? That'S it. Basically, this is how I straighten my hair. So this is how my hair is gon na look on the first day and then, as the days go on, the grapeseed oil will start to rub out. I only straighten my hair once every two weeks. Sometimes I stretch it to like two weeks and three days, but my hair really does last. It stays straight for the entire two weeks. The only thing that might happen is my edges will get frizzy and that's fine, because I can just put some edge control on it or wear a hat until it's time for me to wash my hair again anyway. I hope you guys like this video and it was helpful and I'll see you in the next one. She'S got that good stuff to see time. Oh yeah comment and like to feel subscribe. If you wan na yeah she's got that good stuff to see time. Oh yeah touch it Dumbo yeah touch it to sit down.

Sharde Shaw: Her: "i don't straighten my hair often." Me: okay she's like me I straighten my hair once a yea- Her: "I straighten my hair every 2 weeks." Me: nvm

ChesiPaid: I've been heat free for about 5 years now and I kinda want to straighten my hair. But I'm literally terrified of getting heat damage!! This video does make me feel like I could do it without getting damage tho. I just need every product you used! Lol. I actually used the Shea Moisture JBCO conditioner in my own wash routine video but everything else was new to me. I'm inspired!

Jennifer Sanchez: I have curly hair and have no trouble straightening it but I love watching videos like this, so entertaining

MekaSharee: I think u should use less products or skip the oil part completely because it makes your hair look weighed and greasy. The oil would probably work better if u just run some through your hair daily after straightening. Loving the cut though!

Rangeline DeJesus: I love your hair length and have been considering cutting my hair like this but I'm terrified of the shrinkage my curls will suffer when I curl it! Could you please do a curly hair routine so that I can see how that hair length looks curly? Your hair looks gorgeous!

JaiProdz: Your style and aesthetic is so distinct. The length of your hair right now really matches with the straightened hair. I really like it! I looks great curly and straight. When your ready to revert back to curly I always hear it's best to do a protein treatment especially on the front section of your hair. It helps restore nourishment and rebuilds protein. Also, while DIY Banana Avocado masks have particles to large to penetrate into the hair shaft but I believe they add a protective layer (while deeply moisturizing) to the hair, and are treatments that I'd recommend after freshly cleansed, conditioned and store-bough DC'd hair as a preventative measure.

SEANA SPARKLE: I love this! What temp. is the flat iron on? I make mine last up to 2 weeks too. Yeah flat iron hair is usually better the next day. It's kinda annoying when people say it's "it's too greasy", "It looks too stiff", "you put way too much oil in it" on some people's videos, even on mine. But it's like, it's gonna be even better after a day or 2. Some people like the extra oils and heat protectant to prevent the damage and get a nice sleek look. Plus I think it just depend on your type of hair and personal preference.

Graffiti Nefertiti: Very good routine actually. I make hair care products and the central carrier oil I use is grapeseed oil because it doesn't degrade before a certain temperature is reached, meaning it won't conduct as much heat as say a high degrading oil.

pxstello: OKAY GIRLL YOUR VIDEOS ARE AMAZING! I ALWAYS used to straighten my dry, nappy hair. My hair is thick and nappy and not... managable. I tried your method and it looked like I had Cardi B hair LMAO. So thank you for making this amazing video!<3

Reservechic: You did a marvelous job! As, your hair looks super sleek with a very healthy shine to it too! Great video! TFS!

Sophia Wishes: GORGEOUS! The hair cut really brings out your bone structure! I love it!

Love: Hair looking healthy!! Loving the cut

Si Si: Is it me or does she look way better without makeup?

Kaha'Lani & Fernanda: Just found your channel and absolutely LOVE IT I have hair just like yours so it's nice to be able to relate to your videos Keep being the amazing person you r and I'll make sure to let my friends know about your channel Love you , bye

ruth m: your hair looks GOOD!!!!!! I used to be guilty of passing the heat over my hair so many times. I now blowdry first, i agree it's much better. love your results!

LoveNecey: Girl! Your curls are flourishing since that cut!!

Dubblejayy: I haven't straightened my hair since 2009, but I gave this video a because your hair is bomb!!

Triana Bermudez: Thank you for the tips girl! I also suffered from heat damage to the point where i had cut my hair really short. I like the way you straighten your hair with the deep conditioning products.

Latifah XO: Your hair is soooooo nice with this cut, I love it

Cece_Mich: wow! this might help even me, my hair isnt that curly, my curls are more loose and uneven... but I always forget to moisturize properly before straightening my hair. Also that haircut looks stunning on you ❤

Savi Quin: I saw a picture of you with this bob and I thought it was a wig! Your hair is so full, dense, and healthy looking. Love the cut!

Pam Kaur: Such gorgeous curls!

Cenestra Lemons: I’m 26 years old and after billions (it feels like) of tutorials and asking people for years how they do their hair; I finally decided to try this. All I asked for this Christmas (2017) was a flat iron and blow dryer with the appropriate attachments because I knew I could afford the shampoo, oils, etc. Today I finally get up, determined, ready to conquer, etc. Aaaaaaannnnnnd my husband who is used to me always having “bed head” got upset that it took more than 20 minutes to do so I ended up having to wash out what I did do. But the process did work for me (from the one section I got to do). I don’t know if I’ve ever been more disappointed. I just wanted to feel pretty, oh well. No one cares to hear me rant anyway but I had to share. Your hair turned out phenomenal!

Rayne's world: this seriously helped me out A LOTTTTT i refuse to put chemicals in my hair, u and i have the same curly texture. hopefully this helps me out a lot because im so fed up with wearing braids

Kameron Monet: I am seriously in love with your cut

Dawson Lambert: This is my favorite flat iron routine video on YouTube honestly. Loving it.

Maggie Ussery: I love her hair, and this routine is perfect for her, but for me, I wouldn't be able to get away with putting a flat iron through my hair with any oil on it because my hair would start to cook. I also wouldn't be able to get away with putting so many different products in my hair because my hair will begin to weigh down. For me, I think using one or two products works, but I definitely want to try out that flat iron brush. The blow dryer definitely helps to make the hair have a silky smooth finish when used before the flat iron, so that was an awesome tip! How many degrees is the flat iron when she does one pass?

Takia M: Hair Goals!! Loved the video, thanks for the tips!

Kenzia Okolo: This video is so helpful! love it x

Naistov: Ugh, you make me wunna cut my hair Toots!! Looks so beautiful and healthy <3

Mrs Yser: Thanks to you I have the courage to try new things! I'm going to cut my hair tomorrow. Hopefully it looks as bombbb as yoursss tho

Obunni: As someone who has never learned hair care or makeup, I feel like a man watching this video. Okay actually that’s probably a bit old-fashioned.... there are plenty of guys who excel at makeup and hair styling nowadays. Thank you so much for this video. As a half-black girl growing up surrounded by white girls with straight hair, I was so jealous. I thought it’d be impossible for me to ever straighten my hair. Yeah, there are a lot of steps, but totally worth it. You look amazing!

Nats: Such beautiful thick hair !! Love it ! Your natural beautiful sis ! I got that blow dry too ! I ain't using it no more tho heat damage isn't nice !

Andreia Sofia: your hair looks lush, and that straightener is amazing!

Steph: I love this video! You taught me a lot, thanks :)

Ashley Allen: Your curly hair is soooooo pretty, I hope you wear it curly more often!

Ada Unveiled: Girl you can pull any hair style I swear

Ahshante Essex: I am so greatful that you revealed this brush to my life. I love it soooo much! Thank you , God Bless You :)

Cassandra Richards: love your cut! I'm so nervous to straighten mine its been the longest time. I can only imagine what my cuts looking like LOL <3 nice video btw

MegaHoopsandyoyo: I’ve literally watched this video 20 times. Your hair is just so pretty

Abigail Ajobi: I love how sleek your hair gets with only 1 pass

Dominoe Harlee: Good video Tootsie! You hair looks so bomb the way it's cut! Also, your outro song gets stuck in my head, super catchy and i like how you promote your friends videos as opposed to you own, it's really refreshing! Lobe ya! ^ _ ^ <3

Tiffany B: This helped me so much my hair is literally the exact same as yours so thx u!!

ZeeStyle: Your hair is so thick and beautiful.... and that brush is something i need in my LIFE!! xo

Micha Bromfield: What temp do you use for your straighteners? I can never get my hair to go bone straight without having to go through it a few times, definitely going to consider investing in that brush as well!

Haylz Reborns: Oooh Im loving the flat iron brush! Gotta get me one of those, thanks for linking x

Sarah Perkins: This was so helpful ☺️

lovsmic: How long did it take to straighten your hair?

Alice Maya: Your hair looks bomb curly or straight such thick luscious hair

SydThomp: your hair is growing so beautifully

Valerie: I use Shea Moisture for dry scalp. Got that brush on eBay today!

JAF: hi, how long does it take you to straighten your hair?

Shirlei Ap.

Briana Bowie: You do not have to explain yourself to anyone! Keep doing your thing, and they're going to keep watching

As Told By Kira: Hey for your heat damage you should try aphogee protein treatment. Taren guy used it and it really really works for getting your damaged straight pieces back curly. I'm thinking of doing a video on it cause it's that good

Lesedi Vellem: does your hair lose the straightness or shrink when it comes in contact with water? And if it does shrink or whatever what can I do to get it straight again? Also how do I prevent it cause I'm going on holiday and will be doing lots of water based activities so I'm debating on straightening it like yours or just sticking to braids. Sorry for asking so many questions. Your channel is amazing btw❤

Camryn Smith: I never found someone who has my exact same curl pattern until now ! you look so cute and I have some damage in the front too , bummer

Courtney Michelle: You make it look so easy

Nancy Reyes: My favorite part of the video is the end always you should do a full version of that

B K: I bought that brush for the chase method & love it! Thanks Daina.

Eight Acres: Tootsie how do you work out if you keep it straight for 2 weeks? Could you perhaps make a video on it?

kiara2232: I just bought one of these brushes. It was a denman thermo ceramic double sided straightening brush. $14 at sally beauty. I'm natural 3c 4a and rarely straighten my hair. IM TELLING YOU GUYS THIS BRUSH IS THE BUSINESS! I've never been able to get my hair pin straight with ONE pass. But with this brush I have. I'm more than happy with my purchase. I couldn't even believe how straight my hair turned out.

Dolly Mimi: I LOVE HER she is so real! But if you cut your hair because of heat damage, why do you straighten your hair twice a month ?

KlewieLewie: hey I love your hair straight but do you ever just leave it?? I love it!!! it's so pretty curly

Melissa Ramirez Cabral: What flat iron do you use? Because my hair is less curly then your and I have to pass it like 10 times on only 1 part, and even if I do it like 10 times it will last 1 week so I really need your advice!!!

Kristie Rogers: Your camera is so nice Tootsie can see everything crisp. Love your vids xo

Sunshine_pie416: Can we get a tutorial on your edges though? Cause omg they are on fleeeeek!!! Like please tell me your secret

Dima Taciturn: How long does the hair remain straight? After washing?

Cherry Apple: You look good with curly and straight hair.

Villa Yuri: You look way more beautiful without make up ❤❤❤

JalishaVee: Im def gonna do this, I can't handle any more heat damage!

Tan Ziqi: i have dry scalp too and i finally found a useful video

Angel Watkins: The sleek and shine is real

Sky Shanice: i love your hair after watching your videos for so long , i decided to make my own , you should check it out if your reading , love the videos btw!!

C Kay: I conditioned my hair over night before and my scalp was so itchy!

Lanz: Yasss tootsie I love straight hair when I have a trim

A Kay: When your hair is straightened, how do you wrap it (if you do) for bed/shower?

Sarah Suliman: you should put all the oils you putting before you straighten your hair after you do it because its like frying your hair if you put it before :)

ramsay014: I feel you on extra oil. By the time I wake up the next day I'm like did I even PUT oil on my hair?

Doeneseya: So pretty!! ❤️❤️❤️

Ash: oil on hair before straightening will burn your hair, I heard. Sizzling oil will heat your hair more. MANN Your hair texture is JUST like mine. Ive never met anyone else with my hair type. I have 3 different textures, probably because of heat damage, but ive cut my colour of and haven't straightened for 5 months, until now, and its grown a lot. I will deep condition more and will take all this advice when straightening! so excited! Your hair is gorgeous!

ObedienceOrSacrifice: You have such a beautiful FULL head of hair! TFS!

Shannon A. Mills: best and most helpful video ever thank ya girl

Ashaeye Roaz: you make me wanna take down my dreads and flat iron my hair lol

ChristinaQueenHeart: No lie, if we were homies and I saw that brush at your house, you'd get jacked lol

J. Flynn: beautiful incredible hair. great video.

Jj Jj: do you wrap your hair at night? can you do like a maintenance vid of keeping the hair straight please? loved the results

23ahndra: Love the lob on you ! What temp do you set your flatiron to?

Sierra Flores: This is bomb Thanks Babe

ImangoJango: sooooooooo pretty, you make me wanna cut my hair so bad!

Rahiya Sheikh: Tootsie I just wanted to write this comment to thank you so so much. Like you I always prefer to wear my hair straight than have it curly cos it suits me more, but I was very brash and heavy handed. I never took care of it and I suffered from heat damage as a result. Then I stopped straightening my hair for 2 months thinking it would repair itself, but I was naive.. I came across your video on how to straighten hair properly. I literally screenshot each product and bought them from Boots. Everything from the Aussie range to the heat protectant spray changed my life for the better, I want to cry in happiness as to how much my hair is so healthy now. Following your routine religiously and now my hair is a talking topic, strangers stop me and ask if my hair was straightened from curly and how it's so shiny and silky straight without relaxer. Thank you so much Tootsie from the bottom of my heart

Lucy Avarda: I'm really scared of straighters after I damaged my long thick hair with heat aged 12. I'm 24 now and have long thick wavy hair and people keep telling me to straighten it but I haven't done that since 14.

Queen Kiki: It took me years to grow my natural hair to almost my back. but now you're making me wanna cut it.

Iylana James: Hey tootsie, could u pls do a beginner foundation & concealer application & contour video

Zay: What temperature do you set your flat iron to?

Bossladyml L: I'm going to try the chase method on my daughter!

L: I love blunt cut ends sooooo much OMG to me it looks edgy

Danielle: I really need a video on how you maintain this in our crusty English weather

Kandi Johnson: I ordered the flat iron brush! That brush is the truth!!!

Anwen: this video is so helpful !!
