What'S up, you guys welcome back to my channel, I'm keeping Simone if you're new here please hit the subscribe button, it is completely free. All you have to do is hit the button and hit the bell on side. That way, you'll be notified every single time that I post a video. Today'S video is gon na, be all about what you need to know before you get bohemian goddess box braids. So this is my first time with these braids and I just want to share my experience here. Somebody who wants to get them - and you want to know what you need to expect or if you have them right now and you completely in a crisis like I am just keep watching. Okay, and I will give you guys. Oh I've had these braids for probably like, I want to say, like three weeks. I'Ve had him for about three weeks now, and this is my first time getting them. I'Ve been wondering for a very long time. I finally found somebody to do them. For me, my friendship, wan na make sure I link her down below kiss y'all in the New Orleans area. You need your hair styled or whatever she's the person to go to, but anyways. I finally got them and, as you can see, they look kind of old right now, because they are three weeks old and, as of like yesterday, I just stopped taking care of them cuz. I was just like completely over it. Like honestly, I'm gon na tell y'all why. So if you see this style in its fresh state - and I will put a picture right here to see how fresh it is, you know how it looks when it's fresh cuz, it's really really beautiful, but there's a book. Nobody told me that this crap is hard to manage. Like look at this umm. No, like I mean anybody who knows anybody who has curly hair or who wears like curly weave or whatever you already know like curly hair gets tangled, it comes with it. You can comes with curly hair, but uh. I guess I just want to think about all of that, because every time I see people with it, yeah it'd just be looking so luscious and pretty and just you know no problem. I got this stopped because I wanted to be able to get up and go. This is not a get up. It goes down. So, if you're looking for a get up and go style, you need to go. Get you some regular box braids. This is not it. Uh and then I also want to say, I don't know if these are called bohemian bucks, bohemian goddess box, braids or if they're just called goddess box, braids I've seen them referred to, as though I mean, if you know, let me know, are what what do you Call it if you call it something different or if you probably one of the other, let me know because I really don't know, but I just I don't know like at this point. I feel like it's time to take it off bingo. So not only does it tangle, you see how it's all netted to each other and, like I said this is not half as bad as it was because I've been every single day going through my hair and cutting the tangles out and cutting curls, and you know So this is not half as bad as it was, but it also like say you have on a Jackie. I had on the jacket a hoodie like this, but uh this part of the hoodie was a zipper. It was just getting caught to my zipper like every time I would move. My hair was stuck to it on my purse that I had on. I had a backpack on and it was getting caught in my backpack, my bra strap or my goodness, like every single day, I'm pulling trying to pull my hands away like this. It gets caught in my earrings every single day. It'S just you know this guy's, giving me the blues forever. Like I love my style when I first got it, but it's not a it's, not a stylus. You can keep them for long and it's definitely not a low-maintenance style. It is definitely gon na. Take a lot of care, and today I woke up - and I was just like you know so I said I wasn't even gon na do it, because I wanted to show y'all the real. How does how look if you don't do anything to it, and this is how it looks this summer, look old and somewhat raggedy. My friend did a wonderful job, I didn't get mine crocheted and I don't like crochet, so we just she braided it in you know. If I get him again out I'll actually, but I don't know if my boyfriend loves it, he said it was his favorite hairstyle of mine, but I'm just like. I cannot stomach these nuts. It'S driving me crazy. It just got caught in my nail like what the heck I don't know if this is something that you know you've been wanting to get I'm not trying to scare you away from giving me. I just wanted to let you know what you're getting yourself into. Okay, you need to be prepared. You'Re gon na need some scissors. You'Re gon na need some mousse anybody's time. Cuz you have to stop this hair, like my hair, has been in this little rubber band thing because it is. This is annoying and, like I said this is nowhere near as bad as it was, but my hair has been in this rubber band thing, because whenever I were trying to put it up and put it in a rubber band ever even either get stuck in my Hair, it would get tangled or I will completely lose it in all these curls. So I just left it like this, and I just put it on and on go to sleep wake up in the morning. If you are interested in getting these braids, I'm not trying to scare you away, I am gon na make a video showing you guys how i refresh the curls and my hair completely. So that way, if you look, you know fresh and new every single day when you get up. Obviously your edges are a part of it, but mine, I'm just like I'm just like whatever I'm gon na take this out. Brie: From my experience these braids are my favorite! They never get tangled because before I go to bed I put some leave in conditioner and run my finger through it and put it in a braid . I actually have them in right now and I can run my fingers through easily , I feel like the problem with her braids is she has more curls than braids and the person who did your hair maybe should’ve used thin curls but that’s my opinion I have very thin curls so if you guys want these make sure you keep your hair defanged and get more braids then curls

Ms MuffinIsMyLovers: Glad u did this video cause my daughter wanted them and the hairdresser did not do what she wanted she gave her regular braids my daughter was so upset when she came home and I told her she was lucky cause synthetic hair will matte. I ended up putting flex rods and dipping the hair in hot water and she had different size loose curls which likes. Thank you I just showed her the video

Hannah Benn: I cut out my curls and bought new curls and crocheted a few in myself! very easy. I would suggest just getting regular beaids and putting them in yourself. once they get matted you can take it out and have a regular braid style!
Shalonda Bell: Great advice.I’m a hairstylist and the first thing is there is too much loose hair out. only a little bit of loose hair should be added to the braids and it’s not necessary to add it to every braid, because then the style will be hard to maintain because it will mat and tangle.Those are bohemian goddess braids. Goddess braids are more manageable because the loose hair is only at the end. And using freetress water wave hair works pretty good

K Denise: the one main problem with your braids is that you seem to have more curls than braids in you're hair and plus the brand of the curling hair you used should be considered too..... because some curly hair quickly gets matted than others

Kim Johnson: Thank you so much for posting this! I just recently started contemplating getting the style. I am now having serious doubts. One of the biggest things I hate, You mentioned very early on in this video, curly tangled hair. I like to get a good wear out of my protective styles and I cannot handle having detectives out after 3 weeks and it looking like that.

Simmysimzx: Thank you for this advice. I currently have these braids in myself and having the same issue with it being tangled. I’ve had to cut the ends on some of them as they have become knots. It’s a shame because they are such a nice style but I agree so much maintenance, putting moose in them and Gel just so they detangle is a nightmare. I also work out a lot so when I tie my hair up with a hairband the curls tangle up. I will definitely use some of the comments advice next time and use human hair Curls and see if it makes any difference. This is my favourite braiding hairstyle though so I’ll definitely do it again.
E R: I get synthetic crochet curly or wavy hair all the time. In addition to tying up at night and using product, you can go through with very small scissors and cut out the fuzzy parts. It will keep your hair looking fresh for longer, but it is time consuming. Not necessarily a get up and go style, but I love it.
Tiffany Nunn: Girl, mine lasted for no more than a month. I ended up cutting ALL of the crochet hair out, and still have the box braids. I’ve never felt so much better when I finally cut them off
FinerDetails: I was nervous for the same reason. I wanted to learn the hard way. I have this style going on two weeks. I have not had a single problem. Running my hair through it, put it up in a style, no tangling, only mousse. My stylist has clutch bundles so I just got really lucky THANKFULLY because someone would have heard from me. I’m sorry you had this experience with the hair style, hopefully you’ll try again with a different quality of hair because the style is stunning on you!

NovaReign: I just got this hair style 2 days ago and I got it done at the shop at first I was going get some cheap curly hair but the stylist told me the best hair for this style is human hair in which I had to get its was $23 dollars a pack for the human hair (you can get it wet) and if you want a full look you’ll have to get 2 packs .
Courtney Palmer: This style is so gorgeous. I am currently looking up videos on the style and after seeing yours I just made a call to the hair stylist and told her I will just stick with my usual boxed braids. Because like others when I first saw the hairstyle I wondered if it would start looking tacky after a period of time.....I definitely don't have any patience when it comes to knotted hair. I will eventually get the style and just use the human hair everyone is recommending but right now I just don't have the time lol.
Ashlei Michael: When it comes to the synthetic and kanekalon textured hair, try adding a detangling product or some conditioner along with some oil. It should separate the tangles of those synthetic fibers and make it easier for the long run

Suzanna Williamson: I'm no professional but i've loved braiding and experimenting with different hair styles for the 5 years (im 18 and i started braiding my hair at 13). I did bohemian goddess braids and i experimented using normal Xpression extensions. I did a normal box braid 3/4 of the length, once the whole head was braided, I did two massive braids, dipped the ends in boiling water to get nice curls. With the same straight extension pack, I braided small sections, put them in boiling water, left them to dry for an hour and crocheted them into my box braids. It worked a treat and didn't get all matted (i feel like the pre- curled hair is coarser or less smooth than the straight braiding hair so they matte quicker). It looked beautiful, lasted over 2 months and was super low maintenance considering the curly ends etc.

Sim Sparix: Ok for future reference: if you dont wanna spend human hair money, use LESS synthetic curl pieces!! Basically your stylist just made the curls to close and wayyy to abundant! You gotta use the hair sparingly so it cant get stuck together. It will still get like that a little but it wont matte together like that basically the curls will just get a little frizzy

Megan Moon: I've read use 100% human hair on the curls. I have a mixed daughter with Hella tight curly hair and I wanted to do goddess box braids on her. I've been watching tutorials on them for natural and added hair. Trying to learn where to take the ringlet out of the braid, since it's not being added hair, it will be her natural hair. There's not many videos for this, but I'm learning from many black women about the do's and don't for textured hair and braiding, so hopefully I can get this right!! I appreciate your video!

Tara: It's true, it gets really messy after a few days. I got some off brand fake ass curls for the curly part and it looked good on the first few days. But after a while it was clumping, coming apart, looking dirty af. My stylist recommend "WaterWave" curls. I haven't tried them yet but if I do I'll let y'all know. But once the curls get really bad, just take a sossor and cut them off. And then boom. Perfect amazing box braids. It's like two hairstyles at once. And you won't have to go through the trouble of taking them all out. I might get them again but in red this time. But if you do get bohemian, wrap them up and don't let them get wet. Also, don't brush it if you got some really bad curls. Get the WaterWave curled. I heard they're better! Hope this helped. ❤️
Monet Weldon: Thank you for this video. I was about to install them but I am a low maintenance person so this is clearly not the style for me. You're right whenever I see people with them in their hair looks so luscious but I guess they are really doing a lot to upkeep it.
kaunaturel: mine never ever mattes.. i seperate it regularly cut off any loose hairs and use mousse and serum to keep the curls neat also when you use very very loose curls they drop much easier.. the more friction and the dryer the hair more likely it is to matte. it isnt.. low maintenence, i agree but the idea that synethic hair equals matteing is kinda misleading.

And for someone like me who has no time to take down my braids every 2 or 3 weeks I knew from the start that goddess braids are not for me. Mandlakazi Lutshaba: As a stylist curly hair isn't the easiest hair to maintain. Yes it looks great when it's new and I'm sure it's alot of work to maintain it. It's like an afro, you can't sleep with an Afro without braiding or twisting it because you'll suffer. That's why when I 1st saw this hairstyle I was like ooooooh hell no. Same with the 1 with the conrows and curly hair at the back nah.a, you'll never have peace.
Kocky Pi: Next time use Human curly hair. It does not tangle period. When you use synthetic curly hair, or course it’s going to tangle! Use human curly hair ladies for the goddess curly and kenekolan braiding hair for your braids. Simple fix.

Lol ... to me this is a true "boho" look ,vibes ... , so but as far as tangling goes u can use silicone oil & u should be good to go! , Also for me, I like my bohemian style braids to be crochet in because I'm a person to get bored easy w my hair style & so crochet option gives me the flexibility to switch from "boho" to OG box braids.

Friction from rubbing can Matt it like that. When driving bring your hair to the front also. Use less curly hair and use a moose, conditioner or a detangle spray if it starts to tangle a little. I never have a problem when I add this hair to my real locs. Sometimes I want a boho look and do this to it.
Holly Racks: It’s definitely the amount of synthetic curly hair and the type of curly pattern the more curly the more it’s going to Matt up it’s better to use the braid hair and fly rod it or use a slight wavy hair it won’t be like that I’ve done both on myself huge difference

Moraya Walls: Synthetic hair always does that after about a week. Invest in some bulk human hair, it’ll last soo much longer

Bonita Meredith: I appreciate your honesty and sharing. If I may, before you give up completely I am not sure why quality of curly hair you used but the more expensive human hair makes less tangles. Just a suggestion because it is a very becoming style on you
IISammII: I had bohemian faux locs which is basically the same as this but locs. It's so pretty but the maintenance isn't worth it. It tangles too quickly and gets frizzy after a month. If you're going pay for this, I wouldn't recommend unless you're really good with upkeep
