This week is our second video in our "Behind the Braids" family vlog series! This week, you'll get an inside look at the morning routine of our family of eight! Brooklyn and Bailey are the first ones up in the morning, and then begins the everyday morning struggle of getting the rest of the kids out of bed!
You'll see how Mindy and the kids prepare and pack the assembly line of lunches, the process of getting all the kids dressed, eating and making breakfast, practicing piano and then hopefully catching the bus!

And we're going to be talking today or showing you a little bit about our morning, routine with the kids starting with Brooklyn and Bailey, really early., Then on to the rest of the kids. So You guys are always asking us how we do our morning routine. So this is the real life edition: right. Yeah, it's pretty crazy., Let's go. ( alarm, beeping ), Hey guys it's Brooklyn and Bailey, and it is currently 5:00 in the morning which is Bright and early Yeah.. We just woke up.. This is when we get up every single morning, because we go to our Bible study class and then we go to our drill team practice and then we get ready at school. So that's basically our morning, routine. Yeah. We just got ta pack. Our bags make our bed and run out the door for Bible study.. It'S definitely too early for ... To be awake. To be awake, right, now., Hey guys, it is now 6:15 in the morning. And just climbing out of bed, as you can see.. You all have been asking for morning routine videos, so we're going to do one for you.. My first job when I get up is to work on breakfast and get the kids some breakfast and some lunches going.. So that's where I'm heading to right: now., [, Shaun ]! The first thing we need to do is let Brady out. ( door, knocking ), Kamri, hey it's time to wake; up., Hey Rylan, it's time to wake, up. Rise and shine. Hello. Good morning., Good morning.. How are you buddy, Good. Good.? Let'S see how's your baby sister doing Hi sweet pea., Hey daddy.? How are you Good.? Okay, so I brushed my teeth pulled. My hair up. Threw on my jacket, not a jacket but a sweatshirt, because it's kind of cold. This morning. And now we're off to let the puppy, in., Hey, bud, hello. And start working on lunches, so lunches at our house. We usually have a note left out like this in the morning. Kamri. Does these the night before. She lists out what we're gon na have and then she puts out her lunch bag and you can see that anything. That'S not! A fridge item is already put out., So my job is to gather any of the stuff.. So I need the celery, the sandwich and the applesauces., So here's, the celery and apple sauces she's got out., Can't grab them while I'm holding a camera.. Now you guys can see. The twins are already gone.. Their lunches were missing because they're already out they left this morning at I don't know way too early even earlier than we get up., Which is unfortunate. So they're off and already have their lunches. And I'm going to work on sandwiches. Man. It'S too early in the morning. We're ready to get little Daxton and little Paisley dressed today. The night before we always come in and we lay out their clothes. It makes it a little easier. ( laughing ). Paisley, you tired Getting ready to get dressed, Yeah.. Okay: three two one. Tada. Tada. [, Mindy ], So yeah one of our favorite lunch sandwiches. Is this rotisserie chicken from the store with some Havarti cheese yum.. If you haven't had Havarti it's delicious., We put them on some yummy Hawaiian's King Rolls with some spinach and some cilantro and the kids love it.. Kamri prefers to take a paper bag, so she can just chuck it the other three like to reuse their lunch boxes. So we're gon na go put them in their backpacks and their lunches will be set to go.. Now that lunches are done, it's time to turn the attention to breakfast for Dax and Pais Ry and Kamri do their own, so they usually take care of their own stuff in the morning. But breakfast for the babies is up to me and you can see they're not down yet. [, Shaun, ], Okay, Sweet Pea! What do we do next Make our bed. [ Shaun ] Make your bed alright lets go. ( zipping, ) [ Mindy ]. Today we have apple streusel or blueberry, and some fruit and yogurt and we'll give them some milk or something to drink with it and we'll be set with our breakfast. Good morning. Rylan Good morning., [, Mindy ], So you're dressed is your room done. Yeah. [ Mindy ] Bed made Yep. [ Mindy ] You ready to go. Do hair., Yeah., [, Mindy, ], Okay, let's do it., So we are doing boxer braids in my hair today., Yes, pull it back and get it out of your way right. Yeah. Rylan's doing her own hair about half the time, now'cause she's starting to learn how to do it so today, I'm doing it but other days. Sometimes she does it. [ Shaun ]. These guys love their Beddy's beds. Watch how easy it is. ( zipping, ) Boom.. Okay and that's how we get dressed in the morning. Do I need to bring the spray bottle up? Oh there, she is. Good morning. Sunshine., How are you Do you just always wake up this beautiful, Oh nice., ( laughing ), Her hair's stuck to the fridge.. She gets those genes from her mom right, Yeah, [, Shaun, ], Okay, alright, well, who's on piano. Somebody needs to get on piano.. This is always the slowest part of our morning. Eat. Eat. Eat, eat faster, guys, faster.'Cause, the bus comes at about ten after seven and it's almost seven right now.. Do you have shoes on at least Yeah? We go shoes on [, Mindy, ], Okay, good., Okay, dishes away; quick.: Let's go! Do your hair. Hurry hurry hurry., So my mom is doing Paisley's, hair right, now., Making sure her scalp's moisturized with our oil and water mix., Oh Paiseys., And then we're gon na pull it back a little bit. So it's out of her face today: huh. [, Shaun ]. Here we go. Here'S the school bus. Go ahead. Bye, Bye, (, dog barking ), So we are making progress., I'm in my gym clothes. Getting ready to go to the gym. Kamri right here is making a smoothie for her morning. Breakfast.. Look how bad this strawberry is. Well, throw it away! Don'T eat it., That's gross.! So yeah we have four down and two to go. Four down two to go, and then we have some downtime with no kids.. We just remembered that Kam's got ta go to school early, so I'm gon na jump in the car and take Kamri to school and then I'm off to the gym. Paise is staying here with Shaun and she's gon na get dropped off at preschool later. And we're Out. Peace. [ Shaun ] Paisley, What [ Shaun ] You are in so much trouble.. Do you know why you're in trouble Yes. [, Shaun ]? Why are you in trouble? Because I took all the pretty from the pretty jar. [ Shaun ], Because you what I took all the pretty from the pretty jar. Mwah awe., I love Daddy'cause he's my best friend.. I like him'cause, I like to watch You like me. Yeah. We get to spend about a half an hour. Forty five minutes every morning, while Mindy's at the gym before I take her to preschool., Then I get in to go. Do my work.'Cause he's my favorite. Awe? Did you hear that Mindy. Say it? Again. -'Cause he's my favorite. Awe Mindy, I hope you're watching.. Let'S say it: again. -'Cause he's my favorite. Bye. Hey. What are we doing right now? Sweetie, We're picking up Ben and then we're off to preschool., We're picking up Ben and then we're gon na be off to preschool. Hey. So what did you guys think of the morning routine Yeah?
