Hi everyone welcome back to my channel today. I have a tutorial for an easy holiday updo for curly hair. What'S awesome about this tutorial, is you can stop at any point in the process and still have a great style for your next holiday event? Let'S get started. I'Ve partnered with Garnier to bring you this tutorial because they have some awesome new curl products out to help define your beautiful curls. For this look, I started with their curl nourish shampoo and conditioner. To give me a great smooth base, then I sprayed in a light layer of their reactivating milk spray and detangled my hair with a wide toothed comb. Once that light layer of product was combed through evenly, I used a little bit of the Garnier butter cream on the very ends of my hair. To avoid dryness then plucked my damp hair overnight. If you haven't seen my tutorial on the plopping technique, I will leave the link in the description box for you, but it left me with my natural curly hair to begin the tutorial. I start by making a deep side part in my hair and sectioning off the very front of my hair you'll, see here how I'm sectioning off the front section and then gently separating it out and pulling all of my hair to the other side to get it Out of the way now of that front section, I want to take the tiniest little bit right in the front and separate that out. I then begin Dutch braiding, the main section of the hair. It'S just like a French braid, but you pull the sections underneath the braid instead of over the top, and that way the braid sits on top of your hair, and you can see it a little bit better. You'Ll see here that I'm not including that very, very front section right away, I'm going to wait until I'm about halfway done before I start pulling those pieces in so that way. I have a very nice swoop in the front of my hair and the hair isn't immediately getting pulled directly backward, so you'll see here once I'm about halfway done with the Dutch braid I'll start pulling that very front section in it creates a nice swoop in the Front, rather than having everything go into the braid right away, I think if it creates a nicer effect and you'll want to make sure that you're braiding your hair, pretty loosely number one, because you don't want the curls to stretch out and number two for the next Step you're going to gently tug on the braid to make it look a little bit fatter and more substantial, and so you can see it a little better once the braid is the thickness. You, like you're gon na pin it behind your head underneath a layer of hair. I like to use a snap clip because it's more secure than a bobby pin - and you can stop right here and wear your curls loose in the back and have a beautiful braided headband for the next part of this updo we're going to start on the other Side of our head, I'm gently gon na twist, my hair, so I'm not stretching my curls out again, I'm gon na twist my hair backward and bring it backward toward the other side of my hair, I'm basically making a side ponytail on the same side of my Head that the braid is on so I'm gon na use bobby pins to secure that twist to the back of my head once that side is all pinned up and secured. I'M gon na do the same thing to the other side and have it meet that first twist right in the middle there, and once again you could stop right here and have a beautiful side swept look. The final part of this look is a little bit hard to describe, but luckily you have a video to watch to teach you how to do it. I'M going to roll little pieces of my hair into little circular donut shapes, I guess and then pin those Donuts to my head and you'll see that I keep doing that until all of my hair is pinned up. I try to keep the little Donuts off to that right side for an asymmetrical updo, because I think that's really beautiful and you know sometimes when you're getting ready to party your dog just wants to photobomb there. She is hey girl. Sometimes curly hair has a mind of its own and we didn't do all this work for nothing. So we're gon na hit it with some hairspray. This Garnier full control, anti-humidity hairspray, has a whole bubble of four, so it's gon na hold all night and that's the finished look. I hope you enjoyed thanks for watching and subscribe. If you haven't already bye.
