Hey everyone. It'S me. I wanted to come on really quickly just to share with you a couple of different ways of doing high, ponytail, puff, etc. One of the things that I didn't realize when I first became natural was, I didn't, know how to make a ponytail on natural hair. It'S much different from you know, working with your relaxer, where you just pull it. You know you get like a little hair tie or whatever, and then you put it on it's actually different when you have natural hair and especially depending upon where you are in your journey. How long you're here is how thick your hair is, etc. So in this video I'm going to show you a couple of different methods of doing a high top or high ponytail. The technique for doing thick hair will be included in this. Video for working on fine hair will be in this video and then also a technique. I used to make my um my ponytails or my pub look. A bit thicker will also be included in this video because, if you like me, have fine hair, you know that your ponytails can just look a little bit small small. So I'm going to show you what I do alright. So here we go. Okay, so I'm going to show you the first technique. This technique works most effectively on thick, clear, alright um, I don't have thick hair and my daughter is not here for me to demonstrate on her. So I'm just gon na basically walk you through how you would do your ponytail um puff for thicker hair. So what my daughter likes to do is she'll use an elastic headband like this. Usually it's older and much more stretched out this one. Isn'T it's a newer one, but the process is basically the same, so I'm just going to walk you through how she would do it. So you take your ear headband and you open it up, and then you just put it around your neck. Getting all the hair in the back up and because it's not tangled up in the hip and hold the headband and a pop like this, and then she pulled it out wide like this. And then she will wrap it around the hair once again all right and then she will lift it up like this and then just slide it up until she's reached her desired. You know location for the puffs now because I have fine here and for those of you, ladies out there who have fine, hair um. If you do this technique, this is what's going to happen to your hair. If you have fine hair, it's just gon na. It'S just gon na slide all the way up until it gets to the top of your hair. So and you really won't have any holes like you know you could easily. This will easily come out, so this is a modified way for folks with fine hair of doing this style. So what I will generally do is, I will push the back up like this. I, let's pull the back up and then I will use bobby pins and anchor the band in place so that it doesn't slide up and off my head. So I just use bobby pins and I anchor the back and sides and once I have anchored it into place kind of where I want it, then I'll begin to like fluff in the middle. This is my preference I like having like a symmetrical kind of shapes to my hair. So I like this because it's kind of fuller on one side and then you know you just get an angular look. You don't have to do this um, but if your hair is longer like on one side, then it is on the other I'll just like grab a little bit of hair kind of turn it under like this and then I'll even pin it into place. I also kind of like to do that as well. In case you know like it's windy outside, so that as the wind blows people don't see, you know my band, I'm meticulous about stuff, like that. I don't like bobby pins to show, and I don't like the band's to show so I'll like pin you know, hair here and there kind of around the parameter of the head so that if again, when we're to blow you don't see anything okay, so another technique. I used for doing high puffs on fine hair, because sometimes I just got sick of having to inker the bobby pins and stuff, like that in my hair was to use a bobby, pin only technique to mimic the look of a puff. This worked once I had just you know a little bit of a little bit of hair growth to where it was okay for me not to use the band anymore, and so what I would do is I would just take this hair and kind of smooth it Up and um, you know you could use a gel. Sometimes I used a homemade. The pomade eye makeup create a link to that, but it's primarily shea butter base, but I would just grab some of it here in the back like this and just kind of twist. It and then I would pin there and then I would just grab pieces of hair and randomly just kind of pin it up. So this allows me to get the look of a puff without having to use the elastic, so this is essentially the look of the puffs I'm not going to get into styling it. You know because this is really just a tutorial basically, but you know again using all bobby pins. You are able to just pin everything of an answer place instead of using elastic, and this is a great kind of go-to style for those of you who leave the house. You know one way and your hair, like flips out on you, due to humidity or or whatever it is during the day. It'S a really quick and easy fix to transition to a different style while you're out okay. So once my hair got a little bit longer and I was actually able to fit it in to a ponytail holder, I was very happy because that made things much easier. However, again, if you have fine hair, one of the things I found was that you know, while these would work perfect on my daughter's hair once she got, you know more length to her hair. It was not as beneficial to me because it would make you know, because I have fine hair. My ponytail would be like that thick right and then I'd have hair coming out, so I wouldn't have as full a look as I would like. So here's a trick. I do to my hair to make my ponytails look a little bit. Fuller, you, okay, so that's it, as you can see. My puff is really big and really full much fuller than at the beginning of this video. At the beginning of the video I just used. One ponytail holder to do my puff in this video I use or in this portion of the video I use to the two ponytail method and, as you can see again, I have much more fullness in my hair. So I hope this video has helped you guys if you have any questions or you have a special technique to help you to achieve your perfect toughness. Please let me know I'd love to hear about it and just leave a message in the comment section below alright. Take care guys I'll see you in the next video bye, bye,
