10 Easy Hairstyles For Short / Mid Length Hair 2020

I had my haircut back in 2019, it's 2020 and I'd still consider it to be short hair - mid length at a push! These are my top 10 easy hairstyles for short to mid length hair! All of these take less than 5 minutes and are so quick and easy! Styling short thin hair can leave it feeling pretty damaged, so I try to use as little heat as possible.

There are a few of my absolute go to's in here along with a few experiments so I'd love to know what you thought down in the comments

Hi guys welcome back to my channel and welcome back to a brand new video. Thank you so much for clicking on today's video. It is a 10 quick and easy hairstyles for short to medium length, hair. I had my hair cut short. I want to say, like 18 months ago now - and it was kind of up here and my hair takes so long to grow - that this is all it's managed um in that time, with regular cuts as well. So obviously it has been trimmed, but it really does take its time to grow. One of my friends i used to play netball with actually requested that i do this video because she has just had a haircut short and she said she was kind of struggling on how to style it and clearly liked the way i style my hair. Even though i feel like all i ever do is curl it, but anyway i thought i would film a little 10 quick and easy hairstyles for short to mid length hair. There are a few of my absolute go-to's in there and then also a few that i was kind of just trying out to see what they looked like. So some of them aren't looking too cute. Some of them do look cute, but without further ado, let's go on with the video, so starting with my natural hair, it's pretty limp pretty lifeless. It doesn't really do a lot by itself. So what i tend to do is just use a little bit of dry. Shampoo and spray it through my roots - and i just find this really lifts my hair up and gives it a lot more volume. I am then just spraying a little bit of heat defense through my hair, as well as i'm obviously going to be using heat on my hair for the first hairstyle. It'S really simple, just grab your straighteners and give your hair a really good straighten. I don't tend to section my hair or anything like that, as it is quite thin, so i can just tell what bits have been straightened and what bits haven't been straightened. What i also like to do at the end is just take my straighteners and give it a little bit of a curl at the end, just so that it curls under - and i just find this - gives it a little bit more volume for the next hairstyle. We'Re going to swap the straighteners for a curling iron when i curl my hair, i do section it just to make sure that it all gets a really good curl. I would then take my curling iron wrap it around the back of my head so that i'm holding my curling iron down. You want to have it, so it's pretty much vertical just so that you get a really nice, even curl, and what i do is normally hold it there for around 10 to 15 seconds, and then i just catch the curl as it falls off the iron and Give it a little bit of a squeeze as it's cooling down, and all this does is just help the curl to hold its shape a little bit better. Once i finished my first section, i then just let down a little bit more hair, curl that and then let down the final section now you'll probably be left with some really tight, ringlet curls, which isn't the type of style i was going for. So what i do is just take my hairbrush and give it a really soft brush through, and all this does is break up the curls a little bit and give a really nice uniform. Look. Our next hairstyle is just a really simple half up half down. Look so what you want to do is separate your hair. I normally separate my hair around the top arch of my eyebrow and then i will just gather the hair on top of my head. I will then just pull out some little bits of hair at the front. I just think this really helps to frame my face. I do have quite a big forehead, so i just quite like having some little bits of hair out at the front once this is in the position that you're happy with you just want to tie it with a hair band. I did then re-curl the bits of hair out at the front as they had fallen a little bit flat, and i just wanted them to have a little bit more curl. The final step to this hairstyle is just to take a little bit of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the hair band, and then you just want to secure this with a bobby pin. This is such a simple step to do, but i feel like it really finishes the look and makes it look like you've put in a lot more effort than you actually have for our fourth hairstyle. What you want to do is just separate a little bit of hair from the front of your head and place it all the way down. I like to pull the plait out a little bit just that it looks a little bit thicker. You then want to just secure this with a bobby pin and there you have the final look. Our fifth hairstyle is another flat variation, but this time what you want to do is separate a bit of hair from the front of your head. I normally trace my finger down to just behind my ear and you just want to separate that little bit of hair and clip the rest of your hair out of the way with the piece of hair, you've sectioned at the front. What you want to do is dutch braid it. I will leave a tutorial down in the description box below i learned how to dutch braid around four or five years ago now, and it is a little bit of a skill, but i promise you practice makes perfect and the more you do it, the better. You will become, and what you want to do is dutch braid, this piece of hair all the way down until you've gathered all of your hair into the plaque. You then want to continue your plait all the way down and then secure with a hair band at the bottom. What you're, then going to do, is just take a bobby, pin and pin it behind your ear. My plait was quite long, so i pinned it behind my ear and then also kind of towards the bottom of my head as well, and the final step is to just let the rest of your hair down and you have your final look. Hairstyle number six is one of my absolute favorite hairstyles. It is very similar to the last one, but just on the other side of your head. So you want to separate out a bit of hair from the front and clip away the rest of your hair, similar to the last hairstyle. You then just want to dutch braid this all the way down until you reach behind your ear. You then want to secure this with a bobby pin before letting down the rest of your hair. This is one of my favorite hairstyles for short hair. I just think it's really cute and it's so quick and easy to do. Hairstyle number seven is a half up. Half down style with a little bit of a twist, so what you want to do is separate a little bit of hair from the front and again just dutch braid it all the way back, as you can see, i'm not being particularly neat here. I'M just grabbing random sections of hair. To add in. I think it is a slightly more messy look, so it definitely doesn't need to be perfect once you've platted all the way to the back of your hair. You then just want to take a hair band and secure this, and our final step is just to take a little bit of hair from the ponytail wrap it around the hair band and secure it with a bobby pin. This is another one of my favorites. I think the little plait on top just adds a little bit of something extra to the half up. Half down look hairstyle number eight was a little bit of an experiment for me. I always see people with this hairstyle and i think it looks super cute. So i thought i would try it myself. So what you want to do is put your hair in a middle parting and just gather your hair towards the bottom of your head. I did pull out two bits from the front of my hair. Just to give my face a little bit more shape, what you want to do with the hair you've gathered at the bottom is just tie in a really simple messy bun. I just leave my hair through my hairband a few times and then with the excess hair. At the bottom, i'll just wrap it around the bun and secure it with a bobby pin. I then re-curled the bits of hair around the front of my face, just to give them a really nice fresh curl, and there you have the finished look. I am not sure if this suits me or not in some angles, i think it looks cute and in others i think it really doesn't so i'd love to know what you think down in the comments. The next hairstyle is just a high messy bun. So what you want to do is gather all of your hair and brush it towards the top of your head. My secret weapon to a messy bun with thin hair is to use a scrunchie to secure your ponytail, and all this does is just gives you something to wrap your hair around and overall, just gives the bun a lot more volume. I then give my hair a slight back comb and i will then just wrap my hair around the scrunchie when you're happy with how your hair is positioned. You then just want to secure it with some bobby pins on to our final hairstyle again. This was a little bit of an experiment for me, so what you want to do is separate your hair into a middle parting. I then separated a little bit of hair from the front of my head before gathering the hair behind it and tying on the top of my head, and you just want to do the exact same on the other side. I then tucked the front bits behind my ears just to get them out the way you then want to lightly backcomb the ponytails. You then just want to wrap your hair around into a little bun and when you're happy with its position, secure it with some bobby pins. I'M really not sure. If this suits me or not in some angles, i thought it looked really cute and at other angles. I literally felt like mickey mouse, so i'm just not sure if it's cute or not, so that is it for my 10 quick and easy hairstyles for short to medium length hair. My poor hair definitely needs a good hair mask now. It hasn't really held its curl at all, because obviously i straightened it first and then i tried to curl it on top um. So it's just been a little bit sorry for itself, so i'm definitely going to go away and put a hair mask on now. Give it a little bit of time to recover. I really hope you enjoyed this video guys.
