***Open for Products Mentioned*** When you hair is transitioning from constant heat styling to your natural waves/curls it can be very very hard to get your curls to clump together. These are all my tips and tricks for really enhancing clumps! Keep in mind that really really big curl clumps can weigh down your hair and make your curl pattern appear straighter. But knowing these tips can help you get bigger clumps and then you have more control over how big your curl clumps are.

Oh, my goodness, let's transform this hair, shall we hey guys, I'm back with another video, and today we are talking all about how to get your hair to clump together. This is one of those questions that I get asked about quite a bit, and today I'm going to show you all my best tips and tricks for getting your hair to clump together. This right now is day for hair. I haven't watched it in a very long time. It'S been pulled back for the last day and a half, so why don't we go right now into a bathroom to get this all fixed and sorted out alright guys here we go we're gon na start. The process of transforming this stretched out wavy hair into curl clumped, goodness, are you all ready buckle up, I'm so silly? Alright, I'm going in with the an Aussie clarifying shampoo. I really love the shampoo, the consistency of it, everything it's pretty runny, so it's easy to distribute through my hair, but it's also very cleansing without being too stripping. The first step into good curl clumps for me is making sure I'm using enough water when I'm using my products. So you saw me add just a little bit of water to the back of my head, as I'm scrubbing the shampoo into my scalp and squeezing it through the links of my hair and just beginning to rinse. It out really scrubbing my scalp with the pads of my fingers as I rinse as well. This is key for me. It is so so helpful in removing all build-up. Now my hair clumps together much much better when there is zero buildup on it, so to have an extra step of insurance for good girl, clumps, I'm actually doing an apple, cider, vinegar, rinse today. This will also help in the buildup removal process. It also really helps my scalp if I'm having scalp issues which pan I've been riding the struggle bus with scalp issues. Lately, once I get that all figured out, I will share all my knowledge and info with you on that. So I am just distributing this apple. Cider vinegar rinse through my hair, really well and making sure do scrub it into my scalp. I highly recommend that you do not try and finger detangle with apple cider, vinegar in your hair. It does kind of make your hair pretty tingly as you're using it. So at this point, I'm just trying to make sure that every hair has gotten a little bit of that apple, cider, vinegar, squeezing it through the links of my hair and now I'm going to go ahead and rinse it out immediately. If you are interested in seeing how I make my apple cider, vinegar, rinses and more benefits to apple cider, vinegar, rinses, please check out my video on that. Now, I'm just going in with thee an Aussie Mingo hemp, hair masque. This has quickly become one of my favorite hair masks. Ever the stuff is so so hydrating it has a little bit of protein in it. It has been a very good balance for me of protein and moisture for the longest time I used to swing wildly between heavy protein treatments and very moisturizing treatments, and now I'm starting to kind of find a happy medium of products that are balanced correctly. For my hair, I am also working that, through my hair thoroughly with the my hair care brush. I just love the way that thing melts tangles out of my hair, alright added a tiny bit of water to the back of my head again and now I'm going to do a very good squish to condition tiss, hair masque and the reason I'm doing this is Because it will help encourage curl clumps when your hair is deeply deeply hydrated, it clumps together much much better, so you got to get all the buildup off and then you've got to rehydrate it. Now I'm putting on my shower cap, my reusable shower cap that I got from a wee dad gift set for Christmas and I am putting on my towel so that can trap in some heat. While I let that sit, I let that sit on my hair for about 30 minutes. That'S my standard deep conditioning time. I don't tend to deep condition for longer than that, and I am just rinsing that out of my hair very very thoroughly, because that stuff is very hydrating and it will wait your hair down if you leave any on now, I'm grabbing my secret curl clumping weapon. Actually, all of these are my secret curl crumpling weapons, but anyway the curls blueberry bliss leave-in. There is something about this product that my hair absolutely loves, but I only use a tiny, tiny amount and lifting the hair off the back of my head. This is starting the clumping process for styling, and now I am smoothing those curl clumps in the front with that perfect hair care brush, and you saw I pushed the hair away from my face. I know it seems strange that I form my clumps by raking on the back of my head and form the clumps with a brush in the front. But I have literally tried forming clumps in the back of my head with a brush that didn't work. But it does work in the front and I've tried using raking in the front of my head to get the curl clumps to form and that doesn't work as well either. So this half and half works the best for me now. I'M grabbing the kinky curly curling custard. This is a curl enhancer. It doesn't quite have enough hold on its own, but I notice a huge difference in my curl clumps when I do use this product, so I just glazed it on the front and back of my head, then I squeezed / roped it into my hair and now I am squishing and pulsing. You will notice for the duration of my product application. I will only squish and pulse products into my hair with good amounts of water. This is the best way I have found to get my hair to together. Some people have great success with raking or brushing in all their products with like a brush or smoothing the products in with prayer hands. I find that that those methods disrupt my curl clumps, but gently keeping my hand open, reaching all the way up and opening my hand again to release the curl Club like so is the best method of product application for me to really enhance curl clumps. Now, since that custard doesn't have enough hold on its own, I'm going in with the biosilk rock-hard jelly, and I am really warming that product up in my hands my hands were completely clean. I am just thoroughly thoroughly emulsifying warming up that product. However, you want to say it: it gets a little bit foamy when I do that, and I think that's kind of cool, so just glaze that on and here I'm really demonstrating the roping technique that I talk about a lot that method squeezes product into the links Of my hair, without disturbing curl clumps, which is awesome now, I am just thoroughly squishing and pulsing that product into my hair - and I will do this until I feel that my hair has entirely absorbed all the product. Now, I'm just making sure to apply some product to the back of my head. I got the product applied in the front. I felt like really really well now, I'm just really reaching in the back to make sure that I've gotten product there and I will squish and pulse until all that product is absorbed and my hands don't feel sticky anymore. If you find that you're having trouble getting your hair to absorb all the product, keep adding water to your hands and just keep squishing and pulsing in your product, you will be amazed at how much product your hair can absorb when you're, using the correct amounts of Water and there the curl clumps, aren't they beautiful. Alright, I have plucked my hair for 20 minutes, and I just now thought about this. But a way to get your hair to clump together is too wet flop versus what I'm doing right now, which is dry, poppin wet popping, is magical like all the frizz just completely is absorbed into the curl clump that it was supposed to go into because frizz Is a stray hair that is not in a curl family, but I have found that now I can dry plop with a towel, especially this one. This is the perfect haircare towel. Let me show you look at this. This little closure right. There is awesome because this thing is not going anywhere so the way to that I plop I'm able to give a little bit of room to those curls on top and they don't get completely smashed. You can see that for the most part, all my curl clumps are still intact. I have a straight hair there. I have a straight hair there, but for the most part, all my hairs are still and there Carl families. So what I'm gon na do now is very gently: scrunch, any excess water out that did not get absorbed into my hair or into the towel. That'S another thing: plopping does it gives your hair a chance to absorb all those really good, nourishing products that you are leaving on shaking my hair off the back of my head so that I can reach all the way around in the back and get those curls Scratched this also removes any wonkiness or stretched out miss that may have occurred during the dry plopping process and I'm being very, very gentle and doing this very very carefully. There. We go all right and now I'm going to defuse - and I really like this diffuser, because it doesn't break up micro, clumps blend it down below okay I'll be back, but once I'm done diffusing. One thing I wanted to mention just then and forgot was that how you diffuse your hair also really affects your curl clumps. I find that using this method right here called pixie diffusing is the most helpful. You gently scoop up your curl clumps and then leave the diffuser very still for about 60 seconds. It does take forever. Yes, I do need coffee, but it works so now that my hair is a hundred percent dry, I'm going to scrunch out the crunch, and in order to not break up my curl clumps, I did defuse my hair to 90 percent dry. I find that that is better for me than diffusing my hair to a hundred percent, because when I diffuse my hair to a hundred percent, I noticed that my curl clumps start to break when my hair was 90 percent dry. I then wondered around my house and did some chores and things fairly carefully, not touching my hair too much and making sure to not, like you know, headbang to a really good song. While I did my chores now that it's a hundred percent dry, I'm going to scrunch out the crunch and the way I know that it's a hundred percent dry is, I take my fingers wide open like so, and I stick them in very gently, and I close My fingers, so I'm sticking my fingers in and closing them like that. This is a way to test the dampness of your hair without like get your fingers all up in there and really breaking up all those girl clumps. So my hair is a hundred percent dry and my last and final trick for not breaking up your curl clumps is to scrunch out the crunch with an oil. This is the righteous roots oil. I have had this for well over a year, I'm probably due to get a fresh one. No, it's good for two years anyway. I'Ve had this for well over a year. I have only used a little bit of it. This stuff is very concentrated and it is really good. I take only three drops of that oil and I rub it on my hands and I am going to smooth that over one way to not break up your curl clumps so much when you're scrunching out the crunch is to smooth them out, but y'all know me. I love a good scrunch if you find that your curl clumps completely break up when you scrunch, like so try the prayer hands technique and using the oil just adds a little bit more frizz protection. When you go to scrunch off the crunch and there you have it, that is all of my tips and tricks on how to maintain your curl clumps, as you do a wash day. Thank you guys, so so much for watching this video. If you would please subscribe and click that notification bell, I would love to have you guys around for some more videos? Is there anything else that you're really struggling with with the curly girl method? Let me know down below I've gotten this question about how I maintain my curl clumps, like I do. This is everything I could think of. That has helped me also, if you wanted to you, don't necessarily have to scrunch out the crunch on day one you could even go to bed with a hundred percent dry, hair and scrunch up the crunch in the morning. That is a really good method and technique for really maintaining curl clumps very well. I went ahead and scrunched out the crunch, because that's what I like to do, but the longer you leave your hair in the cast the better. If you found this information helpful, please give it a thumbs up. I would really appreciate it. It does help me out, and it also lets me know that I did something that was helpful for y'all, because that is the whole point of this channel. I want to help y'all as much as I possibly can, because the curly girl method can be kind of confusing and if I can help clarify anything that that's what I want to do, I sure hope you are having an absolutely fantastic day and I will talk To y'all later bye,

etherealone: Girl I am 46 years old and back in the day I did this. Nobody actually showed me I just figured out by trial amd error. And I can say this is exactly how you do it. Absolutely great video to teach people the proper method. There are no short cuts to it. ❤️❤️❤️

Bearason: I'm a 21 year old guy and I have fought with my incredibly curly hair all my life. Grew it out for 18 months. And started using techniques just like this and it really has been a game changer for me I used to cut it super short because I hated how much of a hassle it was. Pretty good tips in this video. thank you.

Just Lisa: I’m about two years into letting my curls be free, but only got my first dry curly cut in September. My previous stylist had been doing my hair for over 20 years and we watched it go from coarse and wavy to smooth and “holy cow, what happened?!”. We actually watched as the transformation moved up from the nape of my neck where she pointed out to a colleague that “it looked like I used the pink rods on her” (those are the smallest ones, I guess) to finally fully encompassing my whole head in about 4 1/2 years. What I didn’t know was the biggest mistake she was making as she was trying to control the frizz was using the thinning shears on my very thick hair. When I decided to try getting a dry cut, the stylist was sure to remind me that one cut wasn’t going to magically make the frizz go away because of the layerings M had done. I, in turn, pointed out that this first cut was like the first day of puppy obedience training. Some work was done, I was given “homework” to do as I navigate taking care of my curls, and the next cut will be lesson two of curl obedience training. Lesson 2 is in about 3 weeks, having given the remaining thinning layers a good three to grow out further. Wish me luck! My curls are 2C/3A with a few 3Bs.

Ellie Harned: I’ve been really embarrassed of my curls for such a long time and I never wear my hair naturally anymore. But after watching a few of these videos and realizing, I want to embrace my curls again. THANK YOU!!!

SarahLou: i love how real and genuine your videos are, it makes trying your advice so much less intimidating

Andrea Ammerman: I think I did this routine by accident once back in 2013 and my hair was amazing for that day!! But you have succeeded in repeating your perfect hair day process. Pray for me to find my hairs perfect curl clumping routing so I can look as amazing as you every day

MrsBrittBos: You’re beautiful! I love your personality. Whole package right here! I’m starting to embrace my waves because my 4 year old has curls and she asked me why I always “fix” my hair and why I don’t fix hers. I love her curls so that broke my heart. I told her mom was going to start leaving my hair the way God made it and she was so happy. Thanks for the tips!

Jennifer Gabor: Thanks for all the techniques and tips, you have helped me along. 3 months in and I no longer am panicky every morning wondering if I will be able to have good enough hair to go to work. (I always did) This is a journey of acceptance as well, but I love rocking cherub curls and waves after years of blow drying. And a little frizz is NOT the end of the world, I've said I'm having a bad hair day and she's said no, I can't even see what you're talking about. Always seems like I get complements right when I need them. So thank you!

Caitlin Walbrun: Great video Courtney! I know I watched a couple of your videos back when I started CGM about 9 months ago, but now that I'm out of transition I see that of all the curly vlogers I watch/follow, my curl pattern is probably most similar to yours, so I'll have to try some of your techniques and checkout more of your catalog. I'm trying to change up my routine because I think I'm at that point that what worked for me at first isn't necessarily what will work best now, 9 months in.

D Ebner: God bless you, Courtney, for putting out videos on how to care for 2 type, barely wavy hair. You are a Godsend. I was getting so frustrated with my hair and was about to get it cut shorter (my is is almost shoulder length, so I was just about to get it cut even shorter), when I saw your videos and few months ago and started the curly girl journey. I can tell that it is getting better with every wash day. I don't have a brush like what you use, but I do have and use a Denman type brush to distribute the conditioners throughly and to brush the front of my hair, to get it to clump and get my hair to part and off my face.

Larea92503: I have low density hair, and I really appreciated that you mentioned in your IG post that the goal may not be 4 huge clumps. If I have larger clumps, I have less volume. I have had to learn to accept that my hair has to be broken up a bit more to look the best it can.

Miss Jezebel: Courtney, this is really fascinating! I recently discovered I have 2a wavy hair. My straight hair changed with menopause, and I've been a little confused about how to work with it. Looking forward to trying your suggested techniques and products. Your hair is beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

sage: i know this video is old and i doubt you’ll see this but i recently started my hair journey on what i THOUGHT was wavy hair. however this method helped my hair clump up into LOOSE CURLS! thank you for being so informative and thorough, it really helped me :)

Alicja J: Thank you so much! This is a big portion of priceless information. No hairdresser could ever tell me all these tricks, that basically are to be or not to be of my curly hair. And all that served in the kindest way I could imagine. All the best for you, Courtney!

Ju: I found your channel a few weeks ago and I‘ve watched many videos -they are soo informative! Your videos made me realize that I really should think about my haircare routine. I‘ve done the curly girl method for like 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it! I love my waves, I love how hydrated my hair is and it just makes me so happy. Thanks for letting me know about all that

Serenadion: Thank you for creating your videos. Based on your descriptions of how your hair behaves, what it looks like visually, and the types of styling products you use, I get the impression that our hair texture and skin oiliness is the same. I appreciate knowing what someone like me could do to get my hair to clump nicely. Level 2 hair comes with its own special challenges when trying to create definition. Thanks again for sharing!

Christina Goulart: Such good tips and I'll definitely try this. I feel like its hard when you have wavy/curly hair because its so easy to break the curls/waves apart and just obliterate them. I just feel like its so time consuming and with my dyson, i can have my rib length hair blow dried straight in 15 minute, lol.

SashaDeter: I'm still in transition and one thing that still confuses me I guess is gel. I know a lot of people new to CGM are scared of hard, crunchy gel. The last time I tried using gel and mousse in my hair again I felt like it made my hair really dry and feel unhealthy. My usual wash day is devacurl or a clarifying shampoo and conditioner, the blueberry bliss leave-in and Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom (which I highly recommend, protein cream with lighter oils) and that gives me some softer waves and good hydration. I'd like to get more hold out of my waves but I don't want to dry out my hair. On a related note, could you do an updated product favorites with your more moisturizing or balanced products you've been liking since your last video?

Letting Grace : Wow, I was like her hair is similar to mine when wet. It was amazing you were able to turn it into those curls. These tips were very helpful. I hope they work and your hair is gorgeous.

Melissa Manning: Thanks for sharing these techniques! The last few months I've really been trying to get my curls back and getting clumped curls has been a huge challenge for me. I'm so jealous of my son's 3C curls that automatically ringlet at the slightest hint of moisture.

Sherry Hendricks: It's always good to watch your videos more than once! This is round two for this one, and I just bought the shampoo and mask from inahsi. I am really struggling with wet frizz. I've tried protein, and moisture masks....but no masks WITH protein in them. I'm hoping this one will do the trick. Please don't ever go away...you're the best fine haired, wavy girl out there!

Amber Smith: This video has been a game changer for me! Thank you SO much for putting the time and effort into making it and going into such detail about your routine. It was exactly what I needed. I stumbled across the video while searching for tips on getting and keeping curl clumps. With my high porosity, med density, fine 2b waves, I can get my hair to clump beautifully, but it's keeping the clumps intact while I flip my head right side up (I also wash my hair bending over the bathtub, rather than in the shower. Maybe that's why I found your video so helpful!) that I really struggle with. If i do manage to save a few of those precious clumps, they start falling apart as my hair dries. It always ends up looking stringy with small ramen noodle- looking Curls. That's the way it used to go. Now, however, I follow your video step- by- step, with a few tweaks to make it better suited to my hair, and I am blown away by the results!! My big, beautiful, fat clumps are still intact, and my hair appears very uniformal....uniformed..??. The Curls and waves are basically all the same shape and size. That's huge for me because my hair usually looks like it belongs to 6 different people. There is little to no Frizz! My curls are well defined, there's some volume at the root (but there can always be more volume, amirite?), and maybe it's just me, but i think my hair is even a bit shinier than before!! Someone in the comments below said she had been focusing on buying and trying different products, hoping one would be The One, and hadn't been giving as much attention to application technique. That's EXACTLY what I've been doing! I've been spending crazy amounts of money on hair products and then rushing through my wash day. I was using the techniques that I had read about without understanding why they worked. I also haven't been paying attention to my hair...I wasn't listening to what it was telling me. But once I slowed down my routine some, took my time, and really took notice of how my hair reacts to different products/ techniques, it has made all the difference in my hair... and in my attitude about it. (I've been following the CGM for about 3.5 months, and have been on the verge of throwing in the towel for, at least, the last month). Seeing the results of following your routine has given me enough hope and encouragement to keep at it... at least a while longer. So thank you again! Keep doing what you're doing!

SiteNo8: You showed lifting the hair away from the back of your head in another video, too. Until I saw that it was something I never really considered important for my shoulder length hair, but it was a total game changer for me. It really helped the clumps form and stay together. Funny how a seemingly minor detail can be so critical to good results! Thanks xo

Mom TheCool: Courtney - you are amazing! I have been struggling for 6 months to "really" get my 2B - 2C waves under control. I will admit, I never even knew I HAD waves until 6 months ago, when I really looked at my wet hair right before I blew it straight. But anyways, I have studied your videos, and I watched your curl clumps 2.0 several times - and I got it! It wasn't so much needing to change the products I had been using, but changing my technique! Wow! I am so impressed, and SO thankful! And, your info on protein was life changing, as well. Keep it up!

Elizabeth Resurreccion: Finally! A wavy/curl type 2 video! I feel like over been searching for one of these for ages

Verena Hoss: Courtney, I have just now stumbled upon your videos, also I am just starting out with the CGM, realizing I got some waves going on, yaaaay. Just wanted to let you know, that I think you are SO FUN to watch, and you are a great teacher explaining the method and your routine hacks. Good job. Can't wait to watch more of your videos. God bless!! :)

Rachelle P: Best wash day scense starting my curly hair journey. I cant get over how well this worked . Juicy clumpy curls yay !!!

ChromicLights: 1. wet hair thoroughly 2. 1:15 shampoo: scrub the scalp and make sure there's consistently enough water 3. 2:10 apple cider vinegar rinse: scrub the scalp and don't detangle, then rinse 4. 3:20 hair mask! detangle with it, scrunch to apply. squish to condish. make suuuuure to have a lot of water in your hair. 5. let it sit for 30 minutes 6. 5:22 leave in time: now we're starting to style the hair; creating clumps. 7. 6:22 curling custard: Squish and pulse with lots of water 8. 7:33 jelly time! roping to distribute, squish and pulse to form clumps. 9. 9:04 plop for 30 minutes 10. 12:23 diffuse until 90% dry and let it air dry to 100% 11. 13:58 scrunch out the crunch with oil!

Hannah Jackson: I feel like my hair is falling flat and getting really frizzy (which is frustrating), but your curl pattern looks so much like mine on one of my rare good hair days I’m definitely going to try this out! I’ve seen SO many videos where people are oohing and aahing over the Denman brush or finger coiling and I don’t get it. I have tried both of those so many times and the results have been sad. I’ve also had some bad results washing my hair upside down, but the way you lift your hair off the back of the scalp might work for me.

Missy Mcv: Love all your tips, they've been so helpful since I've started my curly girl journey x

Duck: This seems to be a big problem for a lot of people but I have the opposite. My curls clump no matter what I do (as long as they're wet). If I'd let them my hair would be in 3 or 4 massive clumps. It means I struggle to distribute styling product on them so everything gets super frizzy when dry.

Joy Snk: Hey Courtney, I really love your videos and I was able to learn so much about my hair and the curly girl Method. I'm trying to do the same technique as you do, but my hair at the back doesn't really want to clump like them in the front, they look so awful that I have to make a ponytail or something. Do you got any tipps or tricks for me? oh and i forgot that i really enjoy to be able to watch your Videos on youtube and being able to look after your Instagram channel, you do a really good job and i hope your doing more videos (maybe like forever) beacause you're helping me so much greets, Joy

Amanda Byrd: Just finding your videos after a lifetime of straight hair which has now become about a 2b wave. My hair has completely surprised me and I’m trying to figure this wavy thing out! Thanks for the upside down tips—totally works and I’ve been looking for a good leave-in, so I’m going to try your rec, too. Turns out I’ve been both dry ‘plopping’ and pixie diffusing as it seemed intuitive. Gonna say that after a lifetime of straight that got weird and yucky with just about any product, I’m slowly integrating just a leave-in and an oil. Going to continue with the rest of your curl tutorials! ❤️

Alison Chalmers: So informative! I've watched so many curly hair videos to figure out how to make my curls clump more and this video has helped me to understand your process so much! So many people just say what products they're using and then end up with amazing hair and I'm like 'exactly how did you do that?!'

Joanie Greene: I am so appreciative of your tutorials as they are very informative. You break down every step with simplicity and clarification of the use of each product. I followed you clumping method and definitely saw wonderful results. Just curious how you attached the Xtava diffuser on the Dyson dryer. Thanks for all of your videos

Heather Ivall: Great video! I’m on the right track with my curls but with your tips I will have even better curls.

A. C.: Beautiful results! I wound up with a stretched out ponytail for church yesterday, so it’s definitely time to dunk my head and try something new! I need to start timing my wash days better

AzDesertFoxx: I'm so happy I found this video! First time trying your method, and I am LOVING my curls! I did a few things differently: I washed my hair and vinegar rinsed it the night before, wet and used Mixed Chicks leave in conditioner the next morning, then used home-made flax gel afterwards, all on wet, wet hair! I didn't use the "praying hands" method like I usually do, but the scrunch method; I think this made a big difference too, as I now know (through you) that the praying hands method loosened my clumps rather than setting them. I plopped for about 20 minutes, then left it alone for about a half hour. I then blow dried in sections, leaving the dryer on each section at least a minute. When about 90% dry, I stopped. After it was dry (using your finger testing method) I used Icon India Oil to scrunch out the crunch. OMG. My curls look wonderful! Thanks for the tips!! Your hair is great, by the way! :)

Colleen Carey: This is the best curly hair routine video EVER!!! Great tips & techniques. So glad I found you, my wash day is tomorrow

Jessica Newman: While I don’t have your exact products or the brush you used, I followed the rest of your recommendations and my curls FINALLY clumped! Thank you for sharing your routine!

Janeth D.: I tried this the other day and my curls came out so beautiful!!! Thanks for the tips!!!

Rux M: Hey Courtney!! I found this video really helpful as my hair has a similar texture to yours, especially when it's wet, so I will definitely be using your tips!! However, I have one small observation, and namely, avoid putting all the gels and products this close to your roots.. Whenever you smoothed the gel over the back of your head i cringed a little... It's just that putting this much product this close to your scalp can cause build-up and issues, that's all Either way, I really liked your video! Thank you!

Never2late2Bgreat: This video is extremely helpful! You do a great job explaining everything! Thank you!

Shooly: I tried so many techniques to do my hair and this what really worked for me !!!❤ .. I am THANKFUL so much. Generally, your tips are so helpful to my wavy hair ❤

MsDreamjunkie: Thank you sooo much for this!!! I want to try your exact routine ‍♀️

purplepeach918: I could watch your videos all day. You're so pretty and so pleasant all around. I've had really straight hair all my life. However, after 2 pregnancies, I noticed my hair started to wave during my first pregnancy and then by the second pregnancy it turned 2A (2B in some areas) on me. I was confused as to what style I should go with - straight (flat ironing) or curl. I was like in the middle. But ever since I started (just a few days ago) watching your videos , I have decided to embrace my new waves/curls and give this new hair lifestyle a dedicated try. I have also purchased some of the hair products u recommend. I have so much to learn and a lot of practicing to do, but at least now, I have direction, and I have u to thank for that. Question: how do u go to bed? Do u cover/wrap your hair with something to protect the curls? All for now. All the best!!! U rock!

Jurina Cleaver: Late to the party, but wow!!! I have been manipulating my poor hair into staying straight for over 20 years now (I am 45) but after following your tutorial step by step I can honestly just say WOW!!! Although I don't have the shine and bigger waves you have I am sure it will come back with time, but as for today, I can honestly just say WOW!!! I forgot that I had super wavy hair

Heather S: Great tips! My hair is 2b/2c and i don't want it to get any curlier. I'm happy with the small S waves and hoping it stays this way. I purposely let my hair stretch out because I like the length and don't want bigger waves/curls. I do struggle with frizz and not enough clumping though.. your videos are very helpful!

L W: My problem is this would only last one day. My curls get messed up every time i sleep

Dia Ganguly: I love your personality and subscribed. I haven’t straightened my hair in two years and I still fight the urge to just get it just keratin straightened. I haven’t figured out good next day hair which drives me nuts. But i feel like watching people like you keeps me going curly and trying.

SaMi Sadowski: So beautiful! thank you so much for all your tips ...I just started with this hair adventure

Stevie: Really beautiful! I layered my hair when I was 18. I didn’t know I had curly hair. I called it “bumpy hair”

Patience Vitacco: I’ve been flat ironing for years. Im just starting to learn how to take care of my natural texture. I can’t wait to try this method. Thanks

Dez W: Your video is the only clump tutorial that has worked for me and I am so stoked!! Thank you so much I recently have been dabbling in curly techniques and nothing has given me definition like your video has.

Melanie Spears: I'm sooo looking forward to your video on scalp issues. The past few weeks I've been noticing a lot more itching/tenderness on my scalp. At first I thought it might be certain products I'm using but realized that it was happening even when I switched up my products.

Brenda & Don: Your technique and verbal instructions are easy to understand and watch. Thank you for sharing. My biggest thing is watching these videos and thinking these products are better than mine. I have so many that have been set aside. It’s ridiculous and I don’t know what to do about that.

Financial Consultant: Lovely to see a 2A wave method ! Xx

The Brutal Hun: I tried the crunch and pulse method you used this morning and it helped! Thank you! I have much shorter hair then you and growing out layers so this is a painful process for me but i think today I am going to have a better hair day!

Maebee: Wow I've never seen your hair more shiny and smooth!! Looks amazing!

маяía tisca: I recently started the method & absolutely love it, my hair feels way better But i still haven't figured how to style to improve curls on my 2b*2c hair, thanks so much for creating this video

Hiss Snek: omg... thank you so much for your video. Gives me so much hope! My hair is exactly the same like yours on your day 4 hair.... I never knew this was possible to get those curls with it!! I'm gonna try this :)

A LT: I use a Denman brush and give my clump a twist at the end of the brush stroke. Once they’re all twisted I do praying hands and put my gel or mousse in. It’s been doing great for retraining the pieces that are stubborn

Kari Woodson: Your hair is so beautiful and healthy! And this video was very informative and helpful, thank you!

Tara Astrom: Thanks Courtney! I often struggle with curl clumps. Would love to see a version of this video using CurlSmith products!

CanadianSpectre: Thank you for this video!!! I did this yesterday and finally clumps are back!! ♥️

S: Finally a method that works for my hair! I tried this method last night and it worked wonders on my curls! Thank you SO much!

Maddy Lovell-Crane: Wow amazing routine, but i would not have enough time for all this! Hair looks so so good though!! 10/10 for effort and results!! Xx

bgoldenwings: Oh so pretty! You have such nice hair! I enjoyed watching your techniques and now I know how to get my hair to NOT do the frizzy thing!! Thank you very much for giving me the information needed. Blessings to you!

Jackie Rohm: Your hair is gorgeous! Just order the curly girl guide. Hopefully soon I will be seeing awesome results soon afterwards. Thank you for all of your tips and tricks!

Linette Gwyneth Low: Thank you, hon :) Your curls are beautiful ♡ And these tips really help, especially the oil treatment at the end. I've since repurposed rose hip oil for this and its amazing. #LotsOfLove Xxxx

Tracey Sullivan Harvey: After fighting my frizzy curls for years, I am finally embracing natural curly/wavy hair. One big question for me is how do you detangle your hair between washes!

Christy Burke: I’m only 2 weeks in. ❤️. I so love the blueberry bliss!!!!!! It is amazing !! And the kinky curly curling custard also!!! To me it smells like birthday cake . I Love it too!!! Thank You for sharing. I just got the diffuser, and the brush and towel. Watching this again so hopefully I can remember how to plop with it when I wash my hair

Roger That: Your hair is beautiful curled, really lovely on you. I wash my hair every day, using my homemade shampoo bar, nope no damage. If I had to do that process everyday I would never get out the door, but it is lovely. Thanks for your video. Darlene

Tara Elmegreen: Hello! Ty ty ty for doing these videos! You've helped me soooo much! With graying hair, shoulder length curly some spirals of hair!!! It was frizzy, dry even with moisture and I was so frustrated! Keep up the good w‍ork!

Lioness: Love this - and can you explain the difference between wet plopping and dry plopping please? Thanks

Rebekah Leonard: I would love to see you try the bowl method. It made such a huge difference for me and my waves.

Michelle Sleater: i have been upside down styling FOREVER and i've never seen anyone else do it the way I do it! i see that some people think they can't do the whole routine upside down, but you don't have to! wash/cleanse rightside up, condition, detangle, use a comb to part your hair (if you do), then flip to rinse and apply product. at this point i do some finger coiling to the back of my hair where i don't have as great of a curl pattern. then i scrunch scrunch scrunch and wet plot in an old cotton T. leave it for 10 minutes, then out, scrunch, position curls, and air dry. my curly specialist stylist had never heard of upside down, but it works!!!

Briena Rivera: I followed a combination of these techniques and your diffusing routine today and my hair looked the best it has in awhile!! I actually felt like so happy I was almost emotional next I just have to get the hold to be a bit stronger

Jennifer Foster: Blueberry bliss is my fave leave in. I also like sleeping in the cast so I can scrunch the crunch in the morning. It really locks in my curls and waves for the next 4 days.

Healthy Disrespect for Authority: The only part of curly styling that I find physically impossible is not touching my hair while it's drying.. just not possible

H0NEYMOURN: Thank you for introducing me to the Curls blueberry bliss leave in, it smells SO good and has a great protein/moisture ratio❤️

Brenda Nittinger: If I had to be upside down that long someone would find me with feet up in the air and passed out...Nice hair tho.

Bethany Ashmore: Love your videos! How do you deal with wet frizz? My hair is already frizzy in the shower and gets worse. I cut out aloe as that supposed to cause flash drying, do you have any other suggestions?

pancakemama: What's your definition of a "dry" plop? I'd read that a wet plop was "wet" with products before plopping, and (I'm assuming) yours is still "wet" with water when you wrap, so what's the difference here? I'm just starting my Curly Girl journey after 25-ish years of harsh dyes and stick straight hair. Lots of textured grey now that I'm embracing

Hannah Ill: Outta all the curly girls I watch you have the best routine and the healthiest most gorgeous hair ever

Tiffany Hinton: I’m so glad I found your videos! I just started cgm last wash day and your videos have so much good information! ❤️

Maryka de Vries: Thank you so much! I tried this routine with products on hand and my hair looks fabulous

Andrea Coaker: How often do you deep condition and clarify with acv? I’m also curious what is your hair porosity, thickness and density? Your videos are great and you have gorgeous waves!

SproutingSimplicity: I recently found this channel and decided to try and bring out my natural waves. I tried the routine I've seen in a few different videos and I had AMAZING results, but only on the bottom layers of my hair. The bottom layers had beautiful, soft, shiny waves like yours but the entire top layer of my head was almost stick straight and super frizzy. Anyone have any tips or advice?

World Peace: We each have our own habits of doing things our way, when doing certain things. If it works for you, keep it going!

Megan Smith: Your hair is so hydrated, healthy, and shiny! Beautiful!

Alicia Chappell: Your method is the best! My hair is perfect every time! Thanks ❤️

-ˏˋ maria ˎˊ-: Hello from Russia and thank you so much. ❤ I was shocked 4 days ago when finding out my hair isn't considered straight, haha. Two proper "curly method" hair washes - and it's already type 2B-2C, that I'm having with my hair. So fun!.. And I'm so much amazed by the results Your tips are helpful - I will try them.

nicole finner: Hey Courtney! Any tips on getting my hair to be soft and healthy looking? I am assuming more moisture but not sure how to lock it in.

Selene Mayorga-Gutierrez: I don't even have curly hair but this was so satisfying to watch. How does she stand to be standing like this for so long without standing up?! And she gets all her hair so even and well. When I try this I have water in my face, my ears, and it's a mess!

Tanya Weaver: i love this video!! I've watched it multiple times lol. could you make a video about wet frizz, what is it and possible causes and how to fix it? I struggle with so much wet frizz

Clarice: I started the curly girl about a month ago. This was one of my questions, so thanks for this video! A more pressing issue has come up with my hair. Since starting, I have been loosing a lot of hair! At this point, it is concerning as I have about 1/3 of the total hair I started with. Any experience with this, maybe my scalp is detoxing? I had already been using shampoo and conditioners that are approved for several years, so nothing new with this. Every time I rake my hair with hands when washing/conditioning, I come away with my hands full of hair! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

MLS: Your hair is my holy grail!!!! It's so healthy & GORGEOUS. I keep trying to get my curls to clump, it's not happening for me yet, but it does kinda feel ropy when I squish to condish. I just really like a soft hold & I'm terrified of hair gel but I am working on the courage to try it

Stephanie Keith: I have stick straight hair but so wished I had curls... I’m so jealous lol. Absolutely gorgeous curls!!

Linzie Santana: I can’t get over how shiny and healthy your hair is
