Easiest Way To Cut Curly Hair At Home! The Dry And Wet Cut Method

Easiest Way To Cut Curly Hair At Home! The Dry AND Wet Cut Method

It was time to get a haircut for me. My curls had grown out to a less than flattering shape, I had split ends, and my curls were starting to feel. weighed down. I did a dry cut followed by a wet cut for the perfect shape with precision, and it was easy to do by myself at home. I hope this helps some of you who are at home quarantined right now and don't have access to a salon!

Hey guys, it's Camille and today I'm giving myself a haircut, because what else am I supposed to do on her quarantine? I know the answer to that question is to change the color, which I am going to do. I'M gon na cut it first and then I'm gon na change, the color, so don't forget to subscribe, so you can stay updated with that. When that comes out, I feel like quarantine is the perfect time to learn how to give yourself a haircut, because if you mess up you're, not gon na see anyone for another. What like month or, however long it's gon na last and if you do see anyone you have to say six feet away, so they can't even see it that well. So that's what I'm doing today and today is the perfect day, because it's a wash day for me, so I've hugged my hair out and it's getting dry and frizzy and everything. So I'm going to be washing it today anyway, so I might as well do the dry cut and then do the wet cut after I wash it so pretty much. I cut my hair in two steps and that's because it does have texture. So one thing I've learned is that when you have texture, you don't want to cut it when it's like straightened or wet, without knowing what its gon na look like when it dries. So, when you're cutting your hair, wear it the way that you normally wear it. So you know what it'll look like so the first round. You want to wear your hair, how you normally wear it, which I wear it like this. So when you cut it, you have an idea of what cut you're, giving yourself and then part two is when it's wet. So that's just going to be to make sure that once I have the overall shape, I have very nice even cuts, and throughout the years I've come to realize that my best cuts happen. When I get a dry cut and then I want to get a wet cut, so that's what I'm doing today. So after you subscribe to my channel, you want to get some scissors and these are not haircutting scissors. I don't have any with me, but these are sharp and they're as good as I can get right now, so I'm super ready to just cut it, but that's not how you're supposed to do it. I'Ve done it that way before and we're gon na. Take this a little bit slower, so my hair shave goal that I want is kind of like a perfect circle. I want like a little bit of an afro thing kind of going on so because I want the top part to stay short. I'M gon na cut this to be pretty much the length that I want and then base the rest of my hair around that. I can't believe I can make this stay up on its own, so I'm taking this top part and I'm just kind of pulling it all together. Then I'm gon na just cut off like all the parts that I don't like is the part where you can see the split ends and the hair is like thinner. You just want to cut that part off, but you want to make sure that you're pulling it straight up. So you don't accidentally give yourself a weird slanted haircut Wow there you go my first chunk. My hair feels better already. I'M gon na grab the back of that section and add another section from the back of my head to it and then do the same thing kind of bring it down to the same length. That'S the first cut. This part is definitely longer than the hair on this side, so I need to even Don out right now I'm going to pull that Center hair and add it to this. So I can kind of compare length with that and then I'm cutting it a little longer. Yeah bro, I look crazy right now, like who I look like a lioness, and I am pleased with that. This is such a rough cut and I am telling you I'm not liable for any of you guys following this tutorial. It'S just how I do it. The baby hairs are tired. I'M gon na give them a little bit of a trim. So I, like the length of this section, I'm gon na, continue doing that down to the side of my ear. You can see that at the top section - and here and the bottom section ends here, so I'm making the bottom section and like there, so it's still a little bit longer, but it still gets a nice little trim. How is it good, sound your hair, it's gon na look crazy when you're pulling and frizzing it out, but that's okay. You need to do that to get a good cut, but once you wash it it's gon na look so much better, so I'm pulling it out. So it's like perpendicular to my head. So if this is where it's attaching to they're, not a right angle, you want it to pull out that way, because if you pull down then this section gets a lot longer and then the opposite. If you pull up so you want to make sure that you're pulling exactly perpendicular there we go. I used to do this curl by curl and then go in with the wet, and I realized that it doesn't really need to be done now. As long as you know, your overall shape you're going for, and I'm gon na keep this like fluffing it this whole time to see if anything else needs to come out and if it's like out of line like this, I would never do this to my curls. If I wasn't cutting it, okay same thing on this side, gon na do some perpendicular cuts. How long are these? This is like what two three inches. I always love getting haircuts because it makes dry time it's so much faster, so you can get ready for wherever you're going sooner and it's perfect or time like now, where it's like. Let'S say I'm getting ready to go to my kitchen or like going out to my family room or something you know like I'll. Be able to do that so much faster, because I won't have to wait for my hair dry or like what, if I'm trying to FaceTime the parent that has me ghost with me, like? Am I supposed to do that with what hair this is coming out? Pretty? Well, to be honest, I am liking this method, it's also a lot faster than my last one, so that might be part of it, but I think it's also coming out pretty well so one problem I've had with staying at home. Is that, like not a lot of shows, are coming out? That sounds like super silly and everything, but I feel like I've seen like everything that's out right now and a lot of shows are being paused to right now, because obviously, the actor's safety is way more important than entertainment. So, oh no, I feel like it's kind of just getting hard to find good stuff. So if you guys have any recommendations, please let me know next, I'm going to brush it out using my Denman brush everybody with curly hair house. One of these so ask your sister and ask your friend asked me: if you guys live near me, let you borrow it so it looks like this part is still like a little bit. Straightish mana fix that. I just realized. I don't have my spray bottle of water, so I'm just going to use a little plastic Tupperware of water, I'm not staying at my apartment anymore. So, that's why I have to use just a Tupperware instead of a spray bottle of water, but we're gon na get this done. I'M just gon na. I don't know how else you're supposed to get your hair wet if you're not using a spray bottle and if you're not in the shower and if you're, making a video for Internet people, so I only want it to be damp. I don't want it to be fully wet. This isn't a good idea, I'm going to add conditioner, so I can comb through it with the brush and I'm using the Marc Anthony, buy buy for his conditioner and if this has keratin in it, so I've been using that lately, okay, my shirts, getting all wet Okay, my hairs are mostly wet, so now I'm going to spread the conditioner throughout my hair. So the reason I'm only letting my hair be damp and not completely wet is because I still want to have a little bit of structure in it and still be able to see how it will hold together, rather than it just be. Like sloppy wet hanging down. I don't know how much that matters for other people, it's just a lot easier for me. One thing I've been loving lately is cooking and cortices cooking is definitely a little bit different than regular cooking. Normally I cook most of my meals anyways, because I'm allergic to everything and I don't eat most foods and I like cooking and I'm hot with my cooking skills. But I feel like being forced to do it all the time when you have a busy life. And you want to like do other things and go places in whatever it's different than your home and you're not doing anything and do why not make something you've never tried before. Why not go out and try to make Gordon Ramsay's fluffy potato fritters that you saw on Food Network two years ago? If you guys haven't watched my last video I want to LA with my sister and I ate this dessert. That was from a Thai place. That was like sweet, sticky, rice and mango, and that is like that is my favorite dessert hands down. So I think I'm gon na try and learn how to make that I post a lot of pictures of what I made on my Instagram. So if you guys want to go check that out, if you're not already following you'll, see that my stories well, my hair looks so cool when it's like this. Just look at my food from the orange to the pink that is so cool. So you probably know that New York City is the epicenter of the disease, and a lot of you know that I live in New York City, so that's kind of terrifying, but I did leave before everything was like fully shut down and I don't know how long Man have you gone for, but hopefully it's not too too long, but I have a feeling that it might be a while. I hope you guys are all staying safe and healthy and at home, and I hope all of your loved ones are ok. So this is pretty combed out right now and because all of the hairs are laying like exactly next to each other, instead of like all of them going everywhere, it's a better time to get a completely straight cut at the bottom. For this section, I'm gon na brush completely straight down, and then the angle right here, I'm just gon na cut perfectly along - I'm just brushing this completely flat against my head, so that all of the hairs will line up and I get to the bottom, I'm using The scissors to get a very clean, perfect cut along the edge, so we got this hair. That'S like exactly cut straight across, so you can see that the cut is blunt and straight across. So that's gon na be great for once it's curling again, then all of the curls will be the same length and also you can tell that there are no split ends. Now I'm just gon na keep using that same length and just go around to the side of my head. So a little bit harder when you don't have someone helping you, but you know y'all learn to do things on your own. Sometimes, and Quarantine is one of those times, and I'm just doing this by feel, I can feel where the other one ended, and you can see that that ended up being a perfect blunt cut. So I'm very happy of that one also when you're cutting you want to make sure that your head is on like straight and then you cut rather than like looking down and cutting because then, when you lift your head up, that's shorter than you thought same thing Happens with people who have bangs they pull too much, and then it pops back up and just ruins their whole haircut. We'Ve seen that on ticked up, I think we've seen that before tick-tock by the way follow me on tick-tock. Oh, this is so nice and even I'm brushing this hair completely flat and doing the same thing on this side. I'M comparing it to the back right here, it's easier for me to clip like pulling it straight back, sometimes because that way I don't have to tilt my head. I just like hold it. Clip-On, I'm gon na helps so much cleaning up after this. I'M very happy with this: I'm very pleasantly surprised, Wow, good job Camille and I'm just gon na make a part down the center of my head and pull the two sides just so I can kind of compare the link and now looks good to me all right. Almost done now, I'm just doing the front part, and this is going a diagonal because that's how the hair lines up, I'm just gon na center part this baby brush that out and now I'm gon na pull this forwards. And then you can also see where these edges meet and I'm going to make that a little bit more blunt just a little bit so that it's all the same length. But we don't have any split ends and then the same thing over here. You can see that the edges are slightly different lengths, so I'm just gon na do a cut straight across and then last I'm putting it all forwards and then I'm going to make sure that these are perfectly lined up. That'S perfect! The reason that we did these dry is because, if we did it wet I'd, be like what my bangs are down to my mouth, but no, it dries and the bangs are like this, but, like oh you know now, I'm just gon na do a protein treatment. A conditioning treatment wash my hair and then let it air dry, and after that, this is the final look. I hope you guys enjoyed this video. My hair feels so much lighter, so much healthier, really glad to have these split ends done and very excited to move on to what is next for my hair, if you enjoyed this video, please subscribe to my channel, I have all of my other social linked in The description box down below I wish you all a happy healthy life, and I will see you in the next one guess: what
