Poofy Ponytail Tutorial

This will give you a really nice big poofy ponytail. I can pretty much ensure you will look gorgeous with it as big ponytails are always beautiful! Get your big poofy ponytail help from me :)

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to watch my video, I really appreciate it. In this video I lay out a few simple steps that when followed correctly will give you a big beautiful ponytail. This style can be worn for work, weddings, just going out, or whatever. Anywhere than you want to wear a ponytail that looks a little fancier than a regular one, you can follow this tutorial.

For this ponytail tutorial you can wear your hair straight or curly, I've chosen straight. I dried my hair with a round brush and added some mousse to my hair for extra poofy volume which is also how I can get my hair to tease so big. My hair is naturally fine but the mousse mixed with my highlighted hair makes teasing it extra poofy and big and volumous.

For this ponytail tutorial you will need a brush, some bobby pins and a hair elastic. The brush I'm using has a lot of tiny little bristles in it and is an old-school brush meant for back brushing, and it's awesome. It's soft on your hair and creates the most volume when teasing that will also last a long time.

Next you grab all the hair you just teased into a little ponytail and secure it in place with some pins to help maintain the maximum amount of volume you can for your poofy ponytail! This step is critical in getting the volume of your ponytail to stay in place and to look as extra big and volumous as possible. Even if you have fine thin hair you can create the look of big thick hair by teasing it big and then placing it correctly with the pins.

After that you'll grab the rest of your hair into a ponytail, put your elastic around it, and then hide the elastic with a little strand of hair by wrapping it around the elastic.

And there you go! A big poofy ponytail tutorial, making you suitable for a wedding or a casual outing. Like I said, this style looks great curly as well! And have fun playing around with the volume of your poof to get as little or much volume as you like.

Thank you!

Hi everybody - this is Laura costume. It'S your hair stylist! For today's video, I'm going to show you how to turn an ordinary ponytail. You need something green that you would want to go it with. This is something that's nice if you are going to a party or something - and you want to look like - I just had my hair up, but really it's extra nice people be like hey. I love your ponytail all day long, so it's really easy. What I'm doing is starting from this raw brush, smooth hair. You can have it a little curl that looks nice too, or you, if you have it straightened. That looks really great too. So this is one with maximum volume. It'S gon na be good. So, first up what you want to do is give your hair a nice big tease, so this one, you can just use your brush and give yourself some nice nice teasing all through the back here. This is where you want to have your volume. You know what I look like more like a slim ponytail, not styling, just give everything these tees here and this sorry. This is really nice. Bus to go tease, tease, tease, tease, tease, give some hairspray there. You go step 1 finish now. You just want to lightly brush out the top of this. This kind of look good if you wear really smooth or you can mess it up too, depending on what kind of an event you're going to go smooth this you're gon na want a mirror. So you can check at the back to this okay. Here we go really nice and big. Okay. Now, it's short, it still is grab all the hair in front of your ears here and lightly. Take back everything that you just teased like this you're leaving at the bottom, grab it and do a little pile at the back, and this is what you want to do. Take this and give it a little spin like this. Stick it up to your head like that, okay and then take a little pin and stick it right there in the back. Maybe you need a couple, but this shouldn't be too hard. This is nice because sometimes when you pull your hair back, you see a lot of pins and it's not really that great want things to be hidden. So that's why you want to put them up into the hairstyle. Take your mirror and check out the back. Leave him it's looking good, but a little bit messy here. You can just use your fingers to move your hair around it very nice. Okay, see how big that is beautiful, we're on a roll and then you just take the rest of your hair grab it right. Where you put your pins, take an elastic and pick yourself a ponytail and then pull that nice and tight beautiful that looks pretty cooling now it's good to is to hide your elastic, so you just take a tiny little piece of your hair from underneath your pony. Just a small one and just wrap it around like this, then take another pin and pin it hair in place, make sure you actually get it. I'M missing it right. Now almost my bobby pin, okay, there you go, and now I have a beautiful style to go ahead in. You can fix this. If it's not too pretty mine looks okay. There we go nice, it's gon na give it some hairspray and I like, when a couple pieces fall out, so I'm just gon na pull. What looks nice push this up and then spray Tinsley's and there you got yourself a really nice ponytail. You can go out in it. Took you no time at all there you go making your hand, look like a really nice ponytail with Laura awesome interior stylist, hi, guys

Laura LP: I would suggest using a large round brush to pull out the curls as much as possible through the crown and only lightly flatiron it, avoiding the roots if possible so you don't flatten it out too much. I hope you can get it to work for you! I also have a video about teasing hair to make it stay - I'd watch that and use those techniques in conjunction with it. xo

Yo Soy Norma: beautiful!!! thanks!!

lucy girl: Nice teasing--never seen it done so casually with a regular brush before.  Did you have some product in there already or just hairspray?  Also I can never get my long bangs to hang prettily on the side of my face like I see worn by so many women...*sigh*  Anyway, nice tutorial!
