I have spent the last 20+ years in the salon industry, tech and fashion. I left the industry at some point to become a Fireman and Aux. Police Officer. I did 6 years service and resigned shortly after 9/11.

I have a passion for helping people, educating and motivating. I work with major brands, local businesses and individuals looking to expand and grow.

My videos will be focused on celebrity hairstyles, athletes, models, actors, social media stars and event videos.

If your hair is very flat, especially throughout the top area and through here, it's just all one length: it hangs down. There'S no movement, no volume whatsoever well, there's kind of an easy fix which i'm going to show you today. It does include using hair cutting comb, which i do sell this and scissors which i do sell my own scissors as well. If you are not a professional, i always say: go get it done at a salon. You have done it with a professional, but if you're absolutely in complete desperation to do this and your hairstylist or whoever can't seem to get it right here is you know something i'm going to share with you. That could be very, very helpful. So the reason it may be very laying very flat is that there's no layers, that's what it comes down to when you look at this mannequin right into here right. So this hair from the the scalp where it grows from reaches all the way down to the very length, which means it's one length this one piece one length all the way to here. What does that mean? Well because there's no layering, it's very, very heavy. It just causes it the weight of it to lay flat. So if you're somebody who you feel like you have too much volume and you may want the hair to lay a little bit flatter to the head, this is ideal for you to have the hair a bit more one length because of the weight of it. But if it's just laying here like a mop on your head, you hate how it is, then let's explain and do a great solution for this when you're combing the hair - and i suggest doing this dry - you can pick say a section up like so now. By doing this yourself, you're going to try to have the comb work in sync, with your fingers, so you're going to comb grab the hair with your fingers. Comb grab the hair with your fingers right. It'S like this. Let go grab it. Let go grab it so once you get in the hang of doing that, it's going to be a lot easier. So what are you seeing right into here? Let me turn the mannequin head, so you can really get a good visual you're. Seeing all of this hair notice how this is short right here - and this is really long right in through here. The reason is because guess what that's your length right there, that is where you want the hair to sit. That'S what you like you like the length, but what you don't like is how heavy it is. So what do we need to do? We need to layer it, and that means removing the weight. So the best way to do this and again you can do this. You can try this at home, you know, but this is what i'm going to help show you. Is you let that hair either fall out of your hand or what you do. Is you cut on top of that and guess what that is, where we're removing the weight you're, probably going? Oh my gosh, but notice now, as this falls, do you see what's happening what's happening? Is that it's falling in layers? And now this whole section right here in the front is not so heavy anymore. How do we take that even a step further? Well, we can take that same section and now continue this going back towards the top of the head. So, there's all the weight we removed. Well, guess what now we're going to continue to keep removing that weight and layering it, and what we're doing is we're creating a kind of rounded shape to follow the head shape and to create more volume and softness throughout the entire hair. And if you can, reach then find you can go all the way to the back. If you can't, you can comb the hair upwards like this, and then you can bring everything to that one point and trim it so now what you've done is you've literally created and removed all that weight coming from here throughout the entire top of the section. So you know you can't just stop there. You got to do this in the entire top of the head, so what you're going to do is you're going to comb the hair straight up that section you're going to see the guide underneath and you're going to cut the longer hair that is peeking through that Guide and what that is doing is it's acting as a source for you to follow. That'S why we call it a guide and it's allowing you to create a more precise type of shape. You can bring everything to this one point. Now. It does get a bit more complicated. You know, because there's a lot to it, it's not just easy as pick this up and go, and you know there's a lot that goes into understanding this from a professional standpoint. I'Ve spent years and years figuring this out so, but what i want to do in this video is you know if you are a professional, then this is going to be great you're, going to hopefully get a lot out of this and if you're at home and You'Re going to somebody - and they just can't seem to get it right. You can literally comb your hair upwards and you can do the exact type of procedure that i did by combing. The hair up and and seeing this just come all the way down to there and then you can determine if it's one length you could say well clearly the person cutting my hair is not doing it right. I need more movement, i need more texture and then, when you run your fingers through it, you can see now look at it. Look at the whole haircut has come to life. This is great for doing, like you know, a shag type of haircut, it's great for adding some sort of layers. If you want the hair to you, know flip up, you want that kind of like more tick. Tock type of look all of this now is a lot. It'S a lot more weightless and you can. You can do much more with the styling it's great, for you know something like tidal wave when you spray this in when it's wet you're going to style it. It'S going to really really help support that haircut. I know this is going to be helpful for a lot of you. Timothy: It’s weird that the people with the least amount of hair are always very knowledgeable on hair. Some of the best barbers I’ve met have bald/low cut hair.

Ξl̷a̷i̷a̷s̷.̷11: That was really helpful, no more struggling with the flat straight hair ✨

Misha Pershin: The Salon Guy: *"I lead others to a treasure I cannot posses"*

Bastian 96: I’m actually rly digging this hairstyle! I wanted to grow my hair out in the front, but it’s getting too flat from the length and I think it looks quite dorky. Maybe feathering on the ends will help with that too?

Oop Oop: This was incredibly helpful, thanks a lot!

Scarlett Whitaker: You are the best. Just in the last month has been introduction to ur videos! My hair is all one length and heavy!! So after watching this video I know what needs to be done! Now, having said that, not so sure how it will turn out, but hopefully I can follow my guide that I create with that first cut! (Right?)

Willow FlowerChild: Thank you. You have amazing tips and advice. ! You are a stylist I trust

bob wallace: I've been cutting my hair with comb and scissors for decades. The two things to remember.....don't try it drunk and the difference is a bad haircut and a good one is two weeks.

Black+Purple: I have this problem too, but with a different style. When I try to push back my hair to make a quiff or a pomp, the hair in the front goes back flat, there's no curve in the front hair, I don't want to use any straightening or curling iron because my hair is very dry very thin (I'm also receding from the front-sides), so is there any way to get that curve when I push them back, I do use hair dryer and it helps a little but not enough to call it curve. My hair is about 3-4 inches in the front

j e s e: hey could you teach us how to do chris bumsted’s current hairstyle? Love the videos btw, very helpful!

SwordsmanX Official: The only problem is I get confused of which section I've done cutting and should cut next, since I don't have much vision even if I'm looking in the mirror

grama frita: heyy really helpfull tips, man! I absolutely love your channel, it helps me a lot when i'm looking for a new haircut :D would you mind doing Maxence Danet-Fauvel's haircut? or maybe have you done one similar to it?

KatieRina: your videos are so helpful! i think the only thing left for me is to learn how to cut the hair at the back of my head. the layers in front are great but the strands at the back look so.. detached??

Cjx217: Thank you so much my hair use to be wavy and the front would curl up than i got a haircut and it was always so flat tho s helped a lot

Yotsuba Vilas Boas: you have the same questions i had and now i have the answer thank you very much

Jude Sawyer: My barber does this ever since I started going there And I didn’t even ask him 2 but it still just remains as a flat fringe.

Shippy: Dang ima get some layers next time, thanks man

Tawnya Jacques: Wow this works amazing thank you!!!!

Murphy Putz: Oh yeah, after watching this once and having no prior experience I'm going to try this

Mariza Vocisano: Great technique love your channel

Brenda Gervais: Great tips, thanks!

Marcus Orozco: Thank you, I found it helpful and this video was on my recommendation.

Alex: i have decent hair it has flow it’s just one side looks a little different then other and I have to keep fixing it during the day. Hopefully I find a barber who knows next time

weetoddalden: What would happen if you snipped the hair at an angle of decline from the shortest hair, making the top layers much shorter than the bottom layers?

IS THAT METO: that was really helpful thanks

This Butterfly Is ugly: It was amazing

Mochi 𓆩♡𓆪: Makes me realize how much I need help with a haircut

danyy: i just wish i had fluffy curly hair :( i have pin straight hair that literally denies any heat/product and i wish i had big curls

narc: I wish my parents would let me have long hair :( My hair style looks so awkward and I hate it but they won't let me grow it out

mr_insomnia: U deserve an oscar man thank u so much!

Lisa Rubin: Talented stylist whose clients go home happy!

Ace Raven: So glad I found this vid ❤️

Musique3579: It's 100% true. You *have* to have your hair layered.

Ty Cross: Thank you sooo much i have a nice face and nice hair but I've never known what to do with my mop hair and it covers my face

Local Chad: As a person who ended up with the last video's haircut, this is perfect

Miguel Smits: Hey, my hair sticks out on the sides when its around 1/4 how can i fix this? Do i need to grow it out longer?

L H: Thank you so so much!!

Nathan Wente: Got any tips for cutting curly hair at home? I’ve already butchered it myself but for future reference maybe?

Kennie: How would you do this process if your hair splits down the middle?? Is it the same process orrrr

Scott Melead: All these years I never understood this and it just clicked. Mind blown.

NIX FIX: does this work for thin flat straight hair?

Karma: does this work for curly hair also ? and what is the name of this act? trimming ? or like layering ? please help

Lord Shinnok: this is literally my hair

Rahina Joshi: Same hair length but for curly hair. Curly flat hair please.

fafa: i swear... eveytime a customer comes in he'll say: trust me bro

Pushkar Pandey: Hye can't find a single hairstyler like you who has rhis much understanding.

welcome2022: I don't like thinning scissors ,I always ask barber to cut the tip of my hair about half inch or 1 cm because thinning scissors make it less volume. I really don't like thinning scissors.

jarred Nelson: Amazing , could you please do Leonardo DiCaprios hairstyle from the basketball diaries?

Dzenan Zerić: Hey, could u do a video maybe specifically on damaged hair and how to treat it, i think it would be helpful and something different

just_a bald_guy_who_love_to comment: *Someone goes to barber* Someone: medium side number 2 curvy etc etc... *Me goes to barber* Me: cut what you think will look good on me

*_Ash_Is_Weird_*: How do you do the hair cut he started with? Is there a video on it?

Rayzen: hello can someone helps me with my hair so i got a buzz cut in my barber 3 months ago and i said him to do a line in the front of my hair and now my hair obviously grow out so now my front hair is shorter and the back longer what can i do for that? i dont wanna cut my hair should i wait to grow longer and then go to a barber and let him leyer my hair?

DankoGaming: What would I ask my barber? If I wanted to keep the length of my hair but cut it so where it has volume like in this video?

Spookyskeleton 9: I’ve got this exact type of hair just different colour and I want a messy look how would I do that? Is there something I can ask my barber to do

alex: i did it and it looks so nice!!!!!

KrimsonSchizoid: Thank you I no longer have to look like a emo kid from dollar tree

Sweat Cookienese: My hair is kinda like this but the front goes down to my mouth lmao

Aüssie: This man reads my mind

Walln: now how do I make my hair that is flat like this turn curly?
