Hi everybody welcome to my home. I am laura. I am on the sephora squad and i am here to show you how i got this voluminous 70s inspired. Look using some great tools and products for my hair type, which is dry. It'S curly, it's a little wavy a little kinky. Let'S get started so to get started. We'Re just going to add a little bit of the virtue, create six in one styler. So i'm gon na take the six in one styler and because my hair is still just slightly damp, i wan na make sure it's protected and one of the great things about this particular item is that it does protect. I already put some in my hair when i got out of the shower, but for now i'm going to take about the size of a pea, just run it between the front and the back of my fingers and just go especially over these ends, because i really Want to protect them because i'm going to be using a heat styler, it's also got a little bit of alpha keratin in it, which is one of the things that virtue is really known for so i absolutely love virtues six in one styler super hydrating, i'm really Dry and i've got really thick hair, so i feel like it protects from the heat, but there are plenty of people out there that are starting to have thinning hair. I mean i'm over 50, if you're over 50. It'S just a thing. That kind of happens. I still have tons of hair and i'm really lucky, but if you're not there are alternatives. This is the caviar anti-aging clinical densifying, styling mousse. This will provide thickness. It will provide hold it'll help to create volume and build up the density of your hair to get into the fun part. We are going to need a great styling tool, and this is where we're going to use the ghd rise hot round brush and it heats up really fast and the thing is, i can hold on to the tip the whole time that it's hot, so when it Goes beep beep. You know it's ready to begin styling what i really always suggest you do and what i always do is i section my hair out and i'm going to use these great little duck clips from dry bar because i find they're unbelievably great at holding your hair. So i'm going to take from here back i'm going to leave my bangs out, i like to style my bangs first, so i'm going to take this big chunk of hair right here, i'm going to twist it and clip it just like that, and i can't believe That this can actually hold that much hair. If you have thick heavy hair like i do, you definitely need them, and if you don't have thick heavy hair, you can still use them to keep your hair out of the way. The next thing i'm going to do is go from the back of my hair section, that out and twist them out of the way, pull them together and i'll. Take one clip for this side and one clip for this side, and now the back is out of the way. So i have one two three chunks of hair that i'm gon na start working on and i'm gon na leave them out. So there are several things that are really key in getting a 70s style look. I have experience with that. Um i've lived through a few decades, but let me tell you what i'm gon na do so: here's where the heat styling comes in you've kind of one lightly, either blown out your hair or, if you don't, have really crazy, wavy curly hair like i have you've. Let it air dry now what you're going to do is you've got to work these little kinks out, and that's where my ghd rise is going to come into play number two thing that is very important for a 70s style look is to have the hair curling Away from the face, it's a big difference between what we've been taught like recently, i think in the 2000s it may have started um. This particular tool is like a curling iron. What i like to do is wrap some of my hair around it start to lightly pull it through. Remember, i've used a heat styler in it and go ahead and twist and pull forward slowly, not too fast, and the thing about the 70s is. It was vertical and curled straight through the ends, so you have this curl and then i like to take it afterwards and twist so that i get this little little curly cue here. Let'S keep going so i'm wrapping it around pulling it forward and we want the volume and the curl to run mid, shaft to ends and twist, and then this side, and now i'm gon na come kind of forward. This isn't quite this is like. I have a little bit of my bangs in there and pulling forward and down, and we've got this crazy little wing. So i'm gon na go back to my bangs and run this through and what we used to call them in the 70s were wings. One way that is going to help keep this curl intact is to take a little curler. These are the dry bar high top self grip. Rollers wrap your hair around it so that you don't have too tight of a curl and because it's velcro, your hair, just kind of naturally sticks to it and it stays put like how easy is that look at that? Okay, this side. Here we go so sectioning. We sectioned our hair, we're also going to section it for curl. I want to get this kink out, so i'm going to start way up here and pull a little bit just to get that excess wave out and roll it through and release and twist and they're going back. That way, that's perfect! So we're going to take this bit here, push that out of the way take this bit here, i'm actually going to separate it, because i need to get close. This is the other great thing about this particular wand is that you can get really close to the scalp and these great little prongs these combs don't allow for you to get it's not like a curling iron, where you can burn your scalp really easily. I love it and pull and down and twist like how satisfying is that just to watch that go, and now this one little bit, that's left, i'm just gon na pull it through for a second just to get the kinks out, wrap it around twist pull, and I love that the cord actually swivels, so it never gets stuck and it doesn't get kinked up. You don't want your cords to be kinked up because they can lose effectiveness with generating power to the actual tool and twist and that side's done, except for this. But before i do this, i'm going to take these because i want them to hold take another one of my dry bar velcro curlers. I don't know about you, but for some weird reason, the right side of my head is thicker than the the left side of my head. If you still have too much hair and you're afraid, it's going to fall out, go ahead and take one of your ducky clips and put it in and you will not be losing that that's another little tip and trick to add to the thing. So last thing here is we're going to take the ghd rise and curling forward down vertically and out that's going to give you that sort of curtain bang you'll see at the end, but it will work itself into the rest of this curl when we take it Out so what i want to do now before i move on is take a smaller velcro curler, i'm going to take my hair and just hold that in place. I like to squish it that way the little velcros grab onto the hairs and boom done. It'S there. We'Re gon na take out one section at a time we're gon na roll it back and remember that one of the key things about that 70s style is to make sure that you're curling away from the face, as i'm going. I'M just gon na make sure that i'm combing any knots out so that the tool goes through much more efficiently. Now that i finished doing the back, i'm going to take that thick roller roll up that back part so that it all stays nice and curled. If you can see it, i'm gon na grip it let that hold it and then now. I have to still finish this top section here, which is huge, and then we will be ready to go. As you can see, i have a ton of hair, which is why i decided to use the six in one styler so again, section by section, i'm just gon na take my comb through it. This is where the wingy feathery hair is coming in, i'm actually pulling and twisting, because i know this part is going to land forward and be seen the most and back in the 70s. Like i don't know that we cared so much about the back. It was all about the front and the flip look at that is that not the perfect 70s flip come on. Let'S do this little back one! This piece is going to go kind of towards the back, so i'm just going to do it real quick. If you have any more rollers, you can stick your rollers in to hold everything in place. Let me just do that before i finish, i, like my hair off my face a little bit so that it doesn't drag down the size. If you have more of a rounded face, you may not have that problem. If you're younger, you don't have to necessarily have that problem. Let'S stop while we're ahead, but before we completely do i'm gon na take each of these pieces, i am going to shove them into a cute little roller, one of my little high tops and because there's so much hair in it. I am just going to grip. It there we go. How great is that and then we're going to move on to the next step? The finishing this is like the last the last step, pretty much of my styling routine for a 70s voluminous hair. Look it's to use the dry bar triple sec. It is a three-in-one, finishing spray - oh my god. The smell of this stuff is amazing and i'm just gon na spray. Before i take out my rollers, oh, i need this in a candle. Let'S try taking these out. This is how i get my hair like this, and you can too all right here. We go, i'm gon na do a little hair, flip and then flip back and just to be sure, we're gon na still spray a little bit more. Oh, i am ready for the disco if we really want to go for that 70s. Look. We want to just leave all this crazy volume here and wing or feather out the sides. All right. We'Re done. Do me a favor leave me your comments below in the comment box, of how you style your curly hair, or if you are now going to try something that i did how it's working for.
