Hello, everyone welcome back to my channel today, i'm going to be talking you through my updated wash day routine now the last full wash day routine. That i did on this channel was my first ever video on this page and i believe it was september or october 2019 that i posted it so we're now january 2021 and i thought i'd do an updated one. I'Ve had a few comments asking if i've changed anything about my routine and asking for an updated wash day routine and, to be honest with you, my routine hasn't changed that much there's a few things. I'Ve changed here and there, but it's pretty much the same. So, for that reason, i've decided to use the same products pretty much that i use in the other wash day routine video, i think, there's one or two products that i have introduced into this wash day routine. Just so, you can see that you don't need to buy new products all the time, it's perfectly fine to just change up your techniques and you actually can get different results. So these are the results that i got with today's wash day routine and if you want to know how i got them, keep watching first, i rinse my hair under warm water to loosen any build up on my scalp, i'm now going in with a naughty to The rescue shampoo - i apply this directly to my scalp and massage it in for a minute or so really focusing on removing any dirt and build up from my scalp, especially in areas that are prone to build up. I then rinse the shampoo out, letting it run through the lengths of my hair. I'Ll often do this step twice. If my scalp feels like it needs a deeper cleanse and on the second cleanse, it always lathers up more too next, i'm applying the naughty to the rescue conditioner. First, i roughly split my hair into two sections. So it's easier to apply. I then glaze the product over my hair, focusing on the underneath and ends where it gets most tangled. I'M not detangling at this point just marrying the water and conditioner together in my hair i did add a little more conditioner off camera. At this point, too, i'm now adding a little more water to help with detangling. Sometimes it feels like you need to add loads of conditioner, but after adding extra water, you'll usually be able to tell whether or not you need to add more conditioner or if adding more water was enough. I'M now doing the squish chicken dish method. This helps hydrate. My hair from the inside out and makes detangling much easier. I'M now doing the same on the other side and gently finger detangling, you can see my full detangling routine in more detail in my finger. Detangling video linked above you may choose to use a brush for this step. It'S totally up to you when i come up against any tough knots or matted sections of hair. I gently pull the hair strands apart, one at a time as if i'm detangling a necklace, you may also need to add more conditioner to these parts to prevent breakage, while you're detangling, if it's particularly matted i'll, definitely recommend applying extra conditioner and water to this section. Once my hair is fully detangled and i can run my hands through it, i rinse my conditioner out, i'm now applying a small amount of the naughty leave-in conditioner to my hair, focusing on the nape of my neck and ends of my hair, where it gets most Dry and knotted, i really don't apply much curl cream at all to my hair, because curl creams and leave-ins are very moisturizing products. I find my hair can get over moisturize really easily. I'M now flipping my head forward and raking my hands through my hair to form curl clumps. If your hair isn't wet enough, it can be hard to create curl clumps, so you can always go in and add some extra water with a spray bottle. Like i'm doing here, i found that water really is the key to creating juicy curl clumps hi guys. It'S editing hannah here. I just wanted to say that at this point, there's something i forgot to say and that i have been doing a little more often to get better curl clumps when i'm styling. So at this point, instead of rinsing my conditioner out with my head upright, i would flip my head forward in the shower and rinse my conditioner out with my head flip forward and then go ahead and apply my cream. Because that way, my hair is already forward and i don't have to worry about really like finger combing. It and stuff like that. Obviously also you can use a brush if you find that more helpful. But i just wanted to add that, because if you find that flipping your head forward after removing your conditioner and applying your curl cream, it's not working for you and you're, not getting curl clumps. Obviously, you can do the trick of adding water with the spray bottle, but rinsing your condition out with your head. Flip forward might work best for you. Next, i'm removing some excess water with the blue clem curl towel. Before applying my gel. Previously, i used to rake my gel through soaking wet hair, but i found that the combination of removing some excess water then glazing and scrunching. My gel instead of raking, gives me much better definition and volume. I'M now applying the giovanni la hold gel. I love this gel so much, but it's very thick, so you need to mix it with water in your hands before applying. If i don't do this step, i find it really hard to apply the gel evenly across my hair with my head flipped forward. I'M now glazing the product over the canopy of my hair and scrunching it in no raking in sight. I then flip my head to one side and do the same gently, glazing and scrunching the product in flipping. My hair side to side in this way really helps to distribute the product evenly across my curls. I then flip to the other side and do the same to prevent my hair from sticking to my head. When i flip my hair side to side, i shake it. Quite a lot, but if you find that shaking is too much, you can always kind of shake your hair rather than shake your head. If that makes sense next, i flip my hair upright and apply some product to the back somewhere. We often forget about. I find that this can really help to improve the definition on the back of my hair, and i know this is something that a lot of you struggle with as well, so taking some extra time to apply product to the back can really help. Lastly, i'm removing a little excess water, so my hair is not dripping wet when i go to diffuse, i'm using the same wet part of the towel each time, so i don't remove too much water. Next up is diffusing, i'm using a low speed and medium heat and diffusing my hair section by section turning the diffuser off between sections to minimize frizz. Once my curls are set in place. I don't worry too much about turning it off between sections to see my full diffusing routine check out my diffusing video, which is linked above halfway through diffusing. I flip my head upright and roughly sort my parting out. I don't worry too much about it being perfect. As i don't want to break up curl clumps when my hair is wet, i'm now going in with a bit of the naughty hay curl gel mixing it with water in my hands and gently glazing over my hair and scrunching, i find that applying extra gel halfway Through diffusing or near the end of diffusing helps give me much better hold, so i don't have to refresh my hair as much between wash days. It also enhances definition, i'm now going back in with the diffuser starting upright and focusing on the sections of hair that i just applied gel to and then continue diffusing using the earlier technique. My hair is now about 95 dry, so i'm adding some root clips to give me some root, lift i usually leave them in for about 15 to 30 minutes, while getting dressed and doing my makeup and now i'm back and i'm dressed, i'm now removing the root Clips and going back in with the diffuser to make sure my hair is fully dry. I'M also gently massaging the diffuser out my roots, to give me a little bit more volume to finish my routine, i flip my head forward and scrunch my hair to break up any casts left by the gel. I then gently shake my hair out at the roots of extra volume. This is also the point where i sort my parting out gently moving any curls to where i want them to go, and there we go. That is my curly hair wash day routine, and these are my results, not bad, so obviously they're not that different to the results. From my other wash day, routine video, i use pretty much the same products, but just a few different techniques in there and one product that was different. I believe there is one thing that i completely forgot to include, which i've been doing a lot recently and i've found that it's been given me really good. Hold like long lasting hold for a number of days and good definition as well and volume two, and that is adding a bit of the bounce curl hairspray when my hair is wet. So i would do this step after applying my gel and my hair would still be all pushed forward, and i would just do a few sprays flip this side to a few sprays flip this side do a few sprays as well. So that is another thing that you can do as well and i'll do another video on that an excuse to make another video something else that i've been doing as well to give me a bit of volume at the roots, because my hair does get quite flat. It'S fine hair, it doesn't curl from the root it's just the way it is so i need a little bit of root, lift and sometimes even diffusing upside down and applying my products upside down doesn't give me the lift that i want. So what i've been doing, as well as doing the hairspray hack, is using a little bit of the volumizing dry shampoo from my hair dance. This is a curly girl, friendly dry shampoo, so i just take literally a small amount just a little bit. It'S kind of got there: it's got the same sort of consistency, it's all just gone on the carpet brilliant. It'S got the same sort of consistency as talc, so you mix it together in your hands and then i'll flip. My head forward - and i kind of do this as like a last step when i want a little bit extra volume, so flip my head forward and just put my hair, my fingers at the roots, shake it out and then a little scrunch. Oh there we go instant volume, so, yes, these are my results. It just goes to show that you don't have to buy loads and loads of new products all the time. I still go back to my ride or die products. I still use them regularly and you can do the same thing i mean yes, i do try other products out. I do use other products as well on a regular basis, but if i didn't have this channel - and i didn't have my instagram page - i doubt i would try out as many products as i do. I really doubt it. Obviously, it changes from wash day to wash day your hair might need more protein, so you have to go for more protein products or your hair might need more moisture. So you want to go for more moisturizing products, but i pretty much gravitate towards the same products when i want to have a good wash day and when i know that i want to have good results, so there we go. That is the end of the video. I really hope you found it helpful and that you enjoyed it. I know it's not too dissimilar to the other routine video that i did, but i know a lot of you also like to just watch curly hair wash day routine videos i do as well. So i'm with you on that, so i really hope you found it helpful. If you do, please feel free to give it a like leave a comment and don't forget to hit the subscribe button, and i will see you soon, bye guys,

Paperaeroplanegirl: Love using the second gel half way through it definitely makes a difference in hold and definition I think. Thanks for sharing!

Darina Savova: The simple the better! I just followed your routine aaand after months of trying to get proper curls, I finally managed to get those bouncy babies yaiiiiii. Thank you so much

Angela Sanchez: I'm obsessed with your curls. Have to admit, I couldn't see myself using so much product, but - as I've gradually worked my way up - I've found it really does give me better curl definition and doesn't leave my curls crunchy or stiff. Thank you for such detailed videos!

Elise Turner: Thank you for the update on your routine!! I’ve been raking my products in for a year now and recently hair has been so stringy- tried your new method today and the definition in my curls is so much better!! I am in love with my curls again thank you xx

H: This has made me realise that im probably using too much product and over moisturising as a result. I always feel like I need more because I'm really frizzy but that's probably contributing to it

Cheeky Monkey: Gorgeous! We all know you’re famous for your hair, that’s why we’re following you but your skin is FLAWLESS! I want a skin care and makeup tutorial now too

Andrew Cook: Ur hair is so gorgeous. I’ve done curly girl for 18 months and rarely style like this cos I lack confidence. But this video has re-inspired me to give it more of a go, cos ur curls are stunning!

Orionis X: Just found you yesterday and have been binging your videos we have a very similar length/curl pattern! Gonna take your tips and I’m excited to see how it goes!

Ashley Bell: Love this!! I feel like we have the same hair type so this would work for me. Only problem is I have no time to go through this whole process everytime with kids. maybe when there teenagers i can look decent again.

Amanda Kempski: Gorgeous! Thanks for the update! Love the gel in the middle of diffusing. I have been doing this and it give more hold and I feel like it lessens my diffuse time...a little.

Foofie2005: Just gorgeous Thanks for all the great tips! I think I will get better results now

Sue Matthews: I just wanted to say thanks for all your informative videos. I have Covid length hair (not had a cut for 2 years) and about a month ago I had a perm, I’ve ended up with no curls, just frizz and I hate it. Searching YouTube I came across your videos and have to say they have helped me a lot. I have fine hair and although still not 100% as I’d like it there has been a mass improvement in the last few washes. So, a big thank you from me!

Derrick Jennifer Watkins: Thank you for the video. Your hair turned out GORGEOUS as usual!

Aileen Dominguez: Your hair is beautiful I’ll be trying out your routine! I always love trying new techniques ‍♀️

Victoria Smith: This was really helpful, thanks! You have beautiful curls ❤️

Natalie Jenner: Great to see this video and the tips that you shared are very helpful. I hadn't used my Giovanni gel in a while and used it last wash day and got some of the best defined curls. I will definitely try adding another gel halfway between drying and see what kind of results I get. I am always looking for ways to get my curls to hold for longer.

Lacie Turner: This helped my hair soooo much! I'm normally a frizz ball, no matter how moisturizing my products were, now I have literally ZERO frizz! Thank you so much for all the tips❤

Jade J: Beautiful! Thanks for taking the time to talk about parting your hair too.

Dozey Mare: Great video Hannah, your hair is gorgeous

Lise Prim: Love your simple routine and all your videos ❤️

Guilherme Barcelar: Simply amazinggg. Girl, I am reslly loving your content. Your hair looks a lot with mine. Your content is helping me a lot! Thanks!

Shari Gmail: I’m doing it all wrong when diffusing (busy and impatient)and ruin everything else that I’m doing right! I will try this over the coming weeks! Thanks a lot

L CB: This was very helpful. Thank you! <3

O Luz: Beautiful hair and results Blessings!

Pixie Eames: More gel during diffusing! Totally trying this! Been having to refresh so much lately so hope this gives me some extra hold, thank you! Your vids are so so helpful xx

Victoria Vega: Lovely. Love the routine. Going to try this method to change it up a bit.❤️

ADeCa: So beautiful! My hair is flat until my ears when styling right side up, so I love flipping my hair over and styling. Now however, when I dry it upside down and go right side up my hair always gets the stuck patch no matter how much I lifted the hair up during the process. Any tips?

Shelly Day, Cates: Thank you, I’ve tried your method twice now in a week , i dont have gel, using mouse, but it’s already made my fine long curls very nice…

Variat: I can honestly say I'm starting to regret going back to my curly hair. I've been straightening my hair for 20 years as it's a mix of straight hair, with a helping of lovely ringlets and frizz. The very first day I decided to stop straightening, I washed it, used Cantu curling cream and and it curled beautifully with no frizz. My hair is very course and thick and it has been matted pretty much since the day after first using Cantu. I comb through it with conditioner on my hair, no knots. Within a couple of hours, it's matted in places and feels awful. I go to work and it starts to frizz and then knots up. It's embarrassing to be honest as I look like a burst mattress.

Cynthia Valerio: I absolutely love this video. I feel like it's the most helpful one I've found because our curl types are similar. Quick question: If you don't have root clips, is there an alternative that you can use to still get great curls at the top?

Blue Ocean: Brilliant! Thank you for this video! And for the truth about not having to purchase another product! I'm fed up with CG method and having boxes of product. No more. This works for me, plus your protein video. Brilliant, brilliant.

aleisha mcdonell: I do a very very similar routine, and as soon as my hair isn’t absolutely soaking, there is frizz/webbing. I was leaving in a lot of conditioner to try to minimise this but Im trying not to do that. I think my hair really likes protein and I’m attempting to use more protein products this week. Is it possible being too moisturised/not enough protein might be causing the frizz?

Emma Dewey: Hair looks beautiful! xxx

luisa andreou-jones: I'm so glad I've found your channel - I've been using CGM for nearly 2 years but have got some frizz and decided it was time to look at my techniques and products again. I'm surprised to see that you use a shampoo, as that seems to be a real no-no in the CG Handbook. It obviously works well for you, though! Your hair is stunning and I'm enjoying watching your videos - thank you :)

Rana Shirinova: I have to mention this, you are the best so far. I had watched nearly almost all videos for curly hair , but they were very complicated and they were using tooooo much product , and I really thought that , i ll gonna straight (keratin treatment)my hair again , then i found you, and your routine, your profucts your reviews are the best thanks a lot, carry on

OldBluEyes 4: Literally the most gorgeous hair I’ve ever seen. Ever.

Rachel Dorsey: Thanks for this detailed video! About how wet is your hair on the mid diffusing gel application? Is it wet enough to hear the STC or is it too dry to hear that? I’ve been struggling with when to add more gel during diffusing. Thanks!!

Sierra Setzer: LOVE wash day videos! They help me the most. Can you tell us what your hair deets are? Low/high density? Low/high porosity? Coarse or fine hair? Thanks so much!

Jenn Belvel: Love your curl hair!! Thank you much! You are so beautiful!

Butterfly: Hi! First I wanted to say that I think your hair is very beautiful! And another thing I wanted to say is that I really like your videos, but I'm not fluent in English so I can't always understand everything. I follow the curly girl method and I'm from Brazil. Here in Brazil we speak Portuguese, and I got to know your channel through a video where it had automatic subtitles in Portuguese. Could you turn on subtitles again? I really want to accompany you here. :)

Masnoona Paton: Thanx Hannah your hair is absolutely gorgeous

Mon Platin UK: Heyy Hanzcurls, we love your hair care routine and would be so excited for a collaboration with you as we know you will love our hair care products. give us a dm back to collab x

Kellyisverystrange🧍‍♀️: My hair is much like yours, I have red curly hair and your videos help me so much!!!

Sylvia S: Omg!! Your hair is so pretty❤️

JasmineLPJefferies: What do you recommend to use for a final sulphate wash?

Megan Michaels: Your root clip tip changed the game for me and my super fine ginger hair! I don't know why I didn't think of that! Those flat clips don't do anything!

Marie H.: I followed your routine and omg i went from a 2b to 3a

leaaa: Can you diffuse your hair every time you wash it? Just asking bc of heat damage I really love your hair:)

Emmy Rivas: how long does the actual wash portion take?

isilko6: Your hair is SO beautiful!!!!!

Heather G: Love it! Is the noughty gel as strong of a hold as the Giavonni gel? I've been thinking of layering gels as well and am not sure of the best way the do it. Thanks!

Kathryn: Very helpful. Thanks!

L: Do you use heat protection spray? I never hear anyone talking about it and was wondering if that's on some of the products you already use. I never heat dry so wondering how you prevent damage

Nancy Roraback: Thank you form sharing your hair video! Your curls are gorgeous. Do you ever use a sleep cap for sleeping? I was looking at them but there so so many different ones I am not sure what would be best!

Sherry Russell: My hair is very similar to yours! But lately I’ve noticed I’m losing more hair and curls aren’t so defined. Any suggestions? Tks xo

Hays: Beautiful curls!!! I really struggle with frizz mainly in the hair framing my face, any tips??

rehana K: Omg I loved when your hair was parted in the middle

yasmine YM.: Real life Meridaso cute!!

hairhunger: Beautiful hair washing !!! ... many more please....

Dixie Rose: Beautiful & Brilliant

Munro McLaren: I part my hair with a comb when my hair is soaking wet before I style. Should I wait until after?

Monica R.: Gorgeous!

Suz M. Booth: You're the best Hanna!

emzy g: does this technique work on hair above the shoulder? im struggling to get mine to style nice i either get frizz or really wispy meh curls

Katie Fappas: Your hair is my hair goal

Kristie Lynn: Your curls look beautiful and I love how thick your hair is. My hair is the same natural color and curly texture as yours only about an inch shorter and not as thick. How do I gate the volume that you have ?

Tori Colvin: You have such beautiful hair! Is the colour natural? It's gorgeous! xx

Rafaela Pinto: can this shampoo and conditioner be used in all washes or are they used occasionally?

simran haer: What diffuser do you recommend ??

Margo B: My hair is about as long as yours and I think the length and weight of my super thick hair just weighs the curls down. Do you go to any specific type of stylist when you get your hair cut?

El R.: You are BEAUTIFUL!!!! I love your hair!

Brenda Villamayor: Omg so beautiful

Kaylie St.Clair: I love that diffuser!! I have hair down to my bum and need one with a huge bowl like that. Do you have that one linked anywhere?

Mersene Pappas: I can’t get the Giovanni gel to work for me. I use it on wash day and it looks great but then on day two it looks awful and get super tangled and I feel a lot of buildup no matter how I protect it when I sleep. I also don’t really get much of a cast with it. Maybe I’m not using enough? I have medium texture and density and my hair is about as long as yours.

Beckface GB: Thanks for this. Would you say your hair is high or low porosity? I have low and also thin hair, mine doesn't curl from the root either and looks really flat, even when I use curl clips.

Mari Emanuelsson: Beautiful ❤️‍♀️

BAM: Me watching this with a wash routine that consists of shampoo ,conditioner a mask when I can be arsed and diffusing when mom doesn’t want me to catch a cold be like Yeah I think I need to put in more effort

Bron Lloyd: What root clips do you use Hannah?

azzariah styles: when styling curly hair, if its done right, you should be using more water and less product bc the water helps the product to spread throughout all your hair meaning that less product is actually more when u use it on soaking wet hair

Susi Kuczka: Could you please your shower routine I’m starting the curly method soon and I’m confused about only washing once a week. Do you just use a shower cap when you shower? My head usually gets sweaty and wet when using a cap. Do you cowash? I’m just confused about normal showering and what to do when it’s not wash day. Thanks!!!

Monica Van Ittersum: Wow you are just so gorgeous. Most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen

T H: What is the price of the products, how long do they last? A friend of mine suspected I have curlier hair and I've just started. When I was younger I had more time to do my hair and it looked great. Here I thought is changed as I aged but really it changed because I did not spend the time working on it. Thank you for the inspiration.

Jen Flowers: Beautiful. where did you get your diffuser it looks fab?x

Elisa Madeddu: Should I also use some mousse or a curl balm cream whatever or do you think gel is enough and go through my hair for volume

Alysha: Is there a reason you use a different gel as a second gel? Is the second one lighter? Tomorrow is my washday so i am definetely going to try this routine out!

Munro McLaren: Do you part you hair before or after you style your hair?

Nikki Luvs Makeup: Watching your routines... I am using way more product that I should be. I feel that I have been trying to follow routines of other that is for medium to thick hair... my hair has been so heavy and weighed down. I need to lighten up on the type of products and how much Im applying... ugh.... I am only on month 6 of learning how to embrace my fine wavy and curly hair.

C.K Color: Do you brush your hair out before you jump in the shower? My hair starts to become knotted in some spots by day 4

Sarah Scott: How do I wear my hair down without it going frizzy

Sophia Blank: You're so lovely xx

ll hughes: Holy gorgeous perfection! Takes a lot of time, but seems worth it. Not sure I always have the time OR motivation!

Valeska Valdes: Seria genial que pusieras los subtitulos en español.Me encsntan tus rutinas pero no entiendo nada

Drea D'lux: On wash day: Do you use hot or cold water on your hair? Do you find that it matters?

Francesca Campailla: Do you have layers? It looks like you do, do you find it helps to have layers with curly hair or do you just have them because your hair is so thick?

caiten eloise: Whenever I use a diffuser my hair goes frizzy someone pls help me

Julia Fall: I hope you dont mind me asking, how short are your shorter lengths and what do you ask for in terms of your shape when you go to the hairdressers (or first went, to get what you have now) I also have fine hair with a very very simular curl pattern! But i am aware my roots are too flat. =( So i would love a cut like yours to help with lift! And maybe even a better curl towards the root area. x

PakizeOduncu: How often to you wash your hair? Amazing video btw

Kiwi: First ♥️ love your videos even before watching ♥️

Pete Rogness: Great video
