Hey guys in today's video I'm going to show you how to go from this to this. So previously I have had issues getting the big hair. Look for some reason when I try to style it with a pic or diffuser, it never laid rate. It looked ridiculous, but not only that I find that pics actually are pretty damaging to my hair. I just don't have the type of hair that had a ton of slip to it when it's dry, so in my hair dries like it's very hard to manipulate, and if I try to pick at it or comb through it, it just causes entirely too much breakage. So I really really just like using picks, I'm going to show you what I came up with here, and the fact that you can do this without any heat without having to comb through your hair or pick through your hair. That might cause damage is just amazing. So let me go ahead and show you. This method is really quick and easy. Really, all you need is some water. You can use either a gel or a hair cream gel is going to set it faster over the counter, not flaxseed gel, so that takes a while to set. Lastly, you're going to need a stretchy headband, one that you would use to like set a high + ponytail. That'S essentially what we're going to be making alright. So a process for this is very easy. All you have to do is put your hair up into a high ponytail, so I'm going to actually style my hair, this one's going to wear this pointy tail out because going to get my hair to lay in the direction that's going to cause the big hair Moment so all I do is lightly spray the front just to get it pliable again, like I said my hair does not move wanted to dry. Okay, you got us, I have to spray, so I spray my hair to get it pliable again, just not too much because you don't want it to take forever to dry, I'm going to grab a little bit of hair cream. This is my mango top. The raw food butter look at that because I shine so beautiful. This is my DIY recipe for my mango cup. Lassi butter I'll, put a link for that in the description box. If you want to check that out a really soft smooth cream, okay, so we're pushing the hair back trying to make it nice and smooth. I am going to use a gel because I have my daughter today and we need head out because she is not going to be patient for me to make this video for you guys. So I need this to dry fast. So I'm going to use a little bit of hair gel. This is a soft hold hair gel that I'm using it doesn't take the moisture out and it dries pretty fast. So so I'm just putting it on my edge area. You can put it around the back too. If you want, I have a little bit left over, so why not now I'm going to set my hair in a high puff ponytail, you guys know how to do that. Just put your head over and you want to push the band back, because this is going to set your hair vertically so that it creates like a really nice volume and bang. When you take it down, doesn't have to be perfect because we're not actually wearing it out. So all you want is to make a high puff pull out the base a little bit just to get that vertical action. Try not to make it frizzy low. Okay, perfect! Now we have a high puff set with our hair cream and our hair gel the gel is going to speed up the drying process of the high posts, so it'll probably take about at the most it'll take an hour okay. So I'm going to let this sit for an hour we're doing this in the morning. I would suggest doing this first thing in the morning and then put on your makeup: get dressed, go eat breakfast head out to work and then take it down, and that will give you like full time for it to set, or you can do this on the Weekend, because the great thing about this is that you just do this once and then you're set for like the rest of the week, so you'll never have to put it back into a high cliff to get that big voluminous. Look. I just learned how to pineapple my hair success week. That'S how I set my hair every night when I'm doing this look and I'll show you guys how to do it, but for now I'm going to go ahead, get ready to go and I will be back in an hour, sit down and show you guys what Happens next: okay, all right guys! It'S been exactly an hour. My hair has set it's pretty guy, so I'm going to take the puffs down and style it okay, so ideas that we have so far - and you can already kind of see this bang situation happening, shake it out. Chichi cheeks, oh girl. Yes, look at that look check out. Naturally, that bang falls. Oh, my god! I love it. I'M going to get a little bit of oil on my shins, I'm like running out of argan oil. I like using argan oil when I'm fluffing my hair out, because it's ride rather quickly not super greasy and I'm just going to start fluffing this out and you can just see how that volume look at that volume that was created so beautiful. Oh yes, I'm me just fall so nicely can separate these little curls see all that volume that I got in the middle here without having to tease my hair or damage it in any way. Little shake it just falls so beautifully, and what I really like about this is that you can't see my grave all right. I'D say: that's probably good yeah, and so the more you wear this stuff the week was shorter and more voluminous. It'S going to get. Obviously this is the first day washing go, so it's got a lot of hang time. Give it a couple of days and it'll start to shrink back up, but that's pretty much how I get that look without any teasing, breakage heat you get the look a full band, so you just pretty much pull it back. Let it set and then release so the very cute look without any damage. So if you guys like this look and a technique that I use to get here every time I use it, it works perfectly. I look so plug that I'm not damaging my hair to get this look and I don't have to cut it or anything. So it's just perfect. So if you guys give it a try, let me know if it works for you. If you liked it and yeah I'll, see you guys in the next one

WillOnAWhim: THE SHINE OF IT ALL THO ✨

Selena T.: For ANYONE having issues with their hair not dropping after taking it out of a pineapple! I have TIPS! Make sure you aren't using a really tight hair tie, I use one that's stretch out so my curls won't be bent. Shake your head to release that tight hold. Then Rub your hands with oil, With one hand at the crown (top) pull your hair out and down. Repeat this same motion with your other hand for your hair at the bottom. Hope this helps with your next wash and go guys!

Shanique Buntyn: YOUR HAIR IS GORGEOUS!!!

Shawntas Way: Lol this was wayy too much movement for baby Cornelius , can't wait for more vlogs! ❤️❤️

Dee: I would love a how to pineapple video like you mentioned because it never seems to work for me (stretches my hair almost straight in some parts & causes the definition to disappear) so i never have more than one day with an "out" wash & go, it always ends up in a puff second day. You're my hair twin, so i'm excited to see how you do it!

His Daughter 7: Thank you for taking the time out to make this whit! We know you're pregnant and tired, and yet you're so dedicated. Love you hun!

NayNayBugg: Why your channel isn't past 1 million subscribers is beyond me because your channel is so informative, entertaining, & definitely marketable & authentic. Keep doing your thing, Whitney. You literally saved my natural hair life back in 2011

Beverly's Stunning Creations: I have been doing something similar to get stretched hair but I haven't been adding the oils and water. Now i'll add that to my routine.  Thank you and I hope you're enjoying your pregnancy.  I'm super excited for your family <3

Chelsea Stewart: I have the same issue with my hair. Thanks so much for making this video.

PinkElephantTV1: Looks lovely I have been doing this too, I can get a great curly voluminous Afro out of my wash n go for about 3 days with this. Then I may perm rod a few piece with leave in for another 2-3 days. Can always go back to the band lift since I cut layers into my hair and it replaces endless ponytails and wasting my hair.

Laura Inez: Ah! SO GOOD! Your results are always amazing

ShayRene28: I've been trying to figure out how to get more volume in my wash and go and how to get rid of the middle part. This is perfect timing.

Ali B: Thank you for sharing!! when I do curly styles like twist out , flat twist outs or so on I never get a lot of volume so this will really come in handy!! thank ya!!!

Brandy Dodd: Thank You so much! I thought I was the only one who had to fight the pick war! Appreciate your videos so much!!!

Notice me Michelle Senpai: Gurl!!! You make me want to speed up growing my hair back out. Yaaaaaas. Second big chop for me. Heat damage is a bitch. I miss playing in my hair, but don't miss the damage.

tashaune Batts: Im so in love with your hair !! Can’t wait until my hair gets this length

Sincerely Authentic: when are you coming out with your own product line. this needs to happen asap. I've been watching you since the beginning of your hair journey. I've been natural for a couple of years due to your videos. thank you for your consistency and patience with us. you're the best!!

Sharon Tillman: This brings back memories.  I started watching your channel when you were pregnant with Oya and you were out of breath then too.  Your hair is gorge per usual.  I get more length as the week progresses.  Your the first I've heard to get shrinkage during the week.

Samantha: This is a awesome technique, how coincidentally that you come up with this video when I was struggling with this very same issue. Thank you!

byoung4eva1: Wow, just realized you have over 800,000 subbies! Oh, i remember when you only had a couple of thousands. Numbers don't matter, but it's still amazing to see how far you've come, and how many more ppl you are helping out with you videos

TysVideoDiaries: So glad you showed me.. I was wrackin my brain trying to figure out how you created that faux bang look. Thanks for sharing!

sigmaluv: I'm going to try this! I get so scared to touch my hair after it is done for fear of "Ruining it". You give me courage.

Terri K: Loooove today is wash day for me! So I will be trying this method for sure!

Naturally Latrice: I gave up on the wash & go about a year or so ago but your vids always make me want to give that style a second chance. Maybe I will on my next wash day.

Shanekqua Denise: your hair is gorgeous! so basically you pineapple your hair. whenever I do this my hair won't fall back down. I'm stuck wearing it up

Oumou: Love your videos please upload more !! Can you please give us tips to have less breakage ? I've been cutting my hair twice this year but I still have a lot of breakage

dontbsthornton: I do two ponytails to achieve this...one on top and one on bottom. My middle section needs more tension from the lower ponytail because it's the tightest curl pattern. It makes rocking a wash and go so easy.

Neo Soul: I always pineapple my hair but I've never tried it with the gel. Superb idea!

Kamazja V. Sole: Love you Whitney! Lol, I've missed your vids! You were the first natural I watched/learned from. Now I'm going on the journey again after having big chopped. Soooo, excited. Anyway loved the vid!

Shawne M: I love your exclamations, so funny...but that's how it is when you get your hair just right... And I have grays in the exact same place you do, so this hairstyle will def work for me!

Elesha Sebree: I love it I have the same problem getting big hair!

Fatima Farmer: i do the exact same thing with my hair to create volume!

Shar G: I realized my hair is very similiar but mine is more cottony, if you understand what I'm saying. Your techniques actually work for me. Thanks alot Whit!

Rochelle Naturally: I love your hair this length ... this is gorgeous! All that beauti-full-ness!!! That shape of your hair is my goal. I keep cutting and cutting but not doing it right .... i better stop!

Eronda100: You makeup is gorgeous! You look absolutely beautiful! We need a tutorial on that makeup look!

M James: I love this! My hair isn't pliable either. lol! So I will definitely try this. Thanks

Yetstill: Thank you so much Nap!!!!!!! Trying the banding and next this!!!!!! Love you so lady!!! Thank you for allllllllll you do!

Create Your Best Version: WOW, wow, wow, so beautiful and loved your high puff style too!

Lizzette I: I love this video! I have fine thin hair so this trick really works for much needed volume! Quick question can you use the diy mango butter on your body?

chkmebu: Great minds think alike! Lol. This is exactly how I get volume except I don't use any product to pull it up because my hair tends not to bounce back. I don't get as much volume as you do because my hair is fine but it gets the job done.

sandra haywood: Love this video I have the same here and so all I wear is buns!!! Hopefully this works for me and can give me options

Tasha Fortin: Omg no lie, this is how I do my hair, or it least wear it. First wash day the hair in the front hangs really low, because my hair in the front is like a 3c curl. but when i pineapple overnight the front hangs at the perfect height the next day and gives me that bang look that I love ❤ I love natural hair oh my gosh

K. Price: You're so creative and innovative ...thank you for sharing that with us
