I want to see it all so good luck and I cannot wait to see what you create foreign, I'm so happy for her though she got clean, she's, sharing her story and now she is ready to fix her hair and get that Luscious Hair back. That'S a big knot. How is she going to approach this? I don't even know where I would start. I guess I would just like put some conditioner on start combing little sections at a time is that the approach, just a small little taste of what she's been going through, everyone is going through something I am so proud of her for just making the Step Up. Not only changing her life but coming in to seek help be free of this big ball of hair that you see back there. So this is the end of day one and you see what we got accomplished so far. Wow hair is so wild like the fact that can even happen. I it's so interesting how hair can just get all tangled in itself and create a ball like that. Am I the one who thinks that's like insane? I was the only person in the world to happen, I'm the only person that you know this is going on to, but they're, probably knowing out there. That can help me with this, but I was refused to give up finding someone YouTube is so big in our house with between my son and my husband, I was like, let me just type in the YouTube, how to detangle matted air and you, your video, came Up wow, I'm so glad that this woman is here to help these people with matted, hair um, also the technique. So I guess what you do is it looks like her. Hair is wet and conditioned she's, taking the back of the tail comb and just getting rid of a few knots at a time and going through the entire thing. This takes so much patience props to you for putting the time and energy into this. I'Ve already lived this pain for three years. Almost I am done people all. The time were like, oh, that you must not brushed your hair like I can attest. I I brush my hair every day, even when it was like this to make sure that the hair that was not Tangled was not going to get in there too, and I remember feeling that like when I was brushing my hair. It wasn't you know, but not for not coming out because, like I said my hair, never really Tangled, if it did, you know when I was brushing it like after the shower or something like that it always it was a problem there. You know you just brush a few times and it would come out, but then I felt back and I felt like a round bump and I was like oh there's something in my hair. I thought it was gum to be honest. Imagine how much hair has just like accumulated in that knot over the months or years, or I don't know how long it's been since she's been able to brush through this, but imagine all like the hair that naturally gets lost. All of that hair is kind of just staying inside the other hair, and then it creates more knots and then it gets matted and then more hair falls from the scalp because of it naturally falling out, and then it just creates a bigger and bigger clump of Hair and that's, I think, how this kind of happens. Obviously, it's a lack of brushing hair and it's it's a lot of laying down. I believe correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's from being in bed a lot or having your hair kind of rubbing against the surface. A lot can also create a lot of matting, so I spent. Can you not probably three or four hours? I looked online on how to detangle huge tangle and a hair like that was like more than just a few brushes type of thing. Yeah. I don't know for some reason. It told me to use apple cider vinegar, so I went bought some sprayed it on spent three to four hours trying to do exactly what you're doing. I wonder why it's an apple cider, vinegar to help you detangle hair. It seems random, vinegar, tangles! I don't know. I'M confused my arm burned, hurt I wanted to crying back, but it literally was almost gone. I rinsed it in the shower. You know, because I shampooed and stuff to get the apple cider stuff off. I went to bed and then the next day it was still there and I tried to get it out and it just wasn't budging. But I was like it's small enough. You know I'll just get it out the next day that next day turned into almost three years: whoa. Okay, so it's been three years and she did she tried to get it out. It was too late. It was too much hair already bunched in there, but it's been three years since she's really brushed through all of her hair. This is gon na feel so satisfying to her at the end, when she can run her hand through her hair and feel no knots, like the satisfaction, is gon na. Be incredible. It'S not easy, like it's easy for people to throw rocks and throw stones, but man, like I, tell people your life and your situation, manifested through this part of your hair, there's other people that their stuff is manifesting through overeating or under eating drinking out here these Streets is doing whatever you know, gambling or depressed or being stuck in the house, like their things, show up other ways. Yours just show up this way. I love this hairstyle she's so like supportive and caring and trying to help this woman and also helping me understand how these types of things happen. Um and she's right. Her kind of struggles in life were just manifested to her hair and to this kind of ball of hair that has to be detangled and other people take it out in other ways. I like fully understand how this could happen to somebody, and I feel for her. I had put so much into my recovery, and this was a big part of like that life, and I would be I'm gon na be damned if, like my addiction, that I fought so hard to get over everything in the system and then take something else from Me some people don't realize that just because you've cut that off it doesn't mean you have. I didn't deal with it. You know yeah, I faced it head on and guess what, if I'm doing it this way, I get to keep some things that I wanted to keep yeah, because I had to get rid of it exactly and hair means so much to people. I understand why she would want to keep it and she wouldn't want to shave her head. You know I can totally feel what you're saying I'm so happy that she's going to be able to have her hair back. I want to see us get to Tangled for her so badly wow, look at her working through that hair and she's. Finally, getting that brush through so satisfying, so I finally figured out how her hair worked three days later, so I found a trick to her hair. This is what's left to do now. I'M gon na blow your mind. Look what it's attached to guys literally attached to this much hair. So all this is just a hair fall of old matted hair over a hundred thousand strands of hair. That'S in that bag and that's attached to her head. She has no ball spots here, what it's amazing breakthrough, but at the same time, I'd be like why. Why didn't I find this earlier? She'S, probably so like what the hell that big clump of hair was just held on by two hair strands. It just got rid of it, but oh my God, I'm so glad she finally found it ready. Yes, pear that was trapped in there. Yes, yes and wow. That'S a lot of hair. We are done so I'm gon na do some carrots in her hair texture is a whole nother texture. Now you are free, I'm so happy. I was able to set you free girl. Look at this! This is why I do it. Yes - and we love you for it, thank you so much for being there for these people and helping them, but wait. We have to see the final look. Foreign looks so beautiful and shiny and healthy. Yes, yeah, sick job you're. Both amazing today we're doing a client who hair has been matted for over 17 months. Y'All. It was challenging, maybe the most challenging one. So far. I don't even know where I would start. I don't even know what I would do if that's not the most challenging matted hair she's ever done, then I don't know what is because I wouldn't know what to do. I wouldn't know what to do, but I'm excited to learn. This is interesting, so this is kind of like a different technique. It feels like I don't know, what's going on really, but they are putting water on her scalp, while detangling it might be cold water to like ice, her scalp, I'm guessing, but I think it's cold water. I'M sure that they've been pulling in her head the entire day and it probably is really painful - that's something that you also have to take into account here. You'Re pulling on these client scalps all day like this is a lot of work and a lot of patients go into this and I'm sure a lot of breaks have to happen in the middle. The client here we had her sketch for three days but because her hair was so challenging and she is so tender headed that we had to do an extra day now we're at this shampoo bowl, because, no matter what we did to her hair, every little thing Hurts so I came up with the idea of letting the water run through her scalp to kind of distract her brain while I detangle her hair. At the same time, oh my God, I forgot about the fact that people are tender headed and, like some people can't handle any pulling on their hair. That brings a whole other level of complexity to the situation. They are using the water to kind of distract her. She has already gotten so far through this hair. I am so impressed, but when I say it was challenging y'all it was challenging. I really didn't think we'll be able to do it, but I kept pushing through and I really want to set her free. So we were determined and we got it done. We did it, we did it, we did it, let's go ahead and keep it 100.. I didn't think um we'll be able to do it because my client was extremely tender headed. She has to be by far the most tender-headed client we had. How is her hair, that long, oh, my God and so healthy, look at her ends. Barely anything needs to be cut like I want you to look at that. Look at those ends get into it. It'S because the last day, like almost 14 hours to do her hair, we had to do one at a time because having two people on her head was excruciating paying for her. Not only was she extremely tender headed, but her ends were colored and for some reason her ends kept getting mad over and over again. So, no matter, if I detangled it, it would do it all over again. Oh my God, 14 hours. This is making me realize one thing, and it's that I need to be a more patient, hair stylist, because the moment somebody tells me their tender headed, I'm like girl, suck it up for two seconds. I need to be more understanding clearly because I can't pull something like this off. Her hair is literally looks like Silk. Are you seeing this? Oh, my God y'all we did it. I'M so proud of my team shout out to Marlene um for staying late with me and a shout out to my client for being so patient. I don't understand how the hair went from that. To that you know that's mind-boggling. That is insane that is whoa how how how how how the talent is unbelievable. So my client here here is completely matted. As you can see, her hair is completely stuck together right now, I'm doing a hair detox. I saw the recipe somewhere on YouTube. Just Google heritage talk to you, find it it's apple, cider, vinegar, baking, soda salt and lemon juice. Also, apparently, apple cider vinegar does do something for getting tangles out, and I did four of these and she soaked her hair in it for like 20 minutes each time and each time I Promise You No Lie the water looked like this. Not only is it removing the rest, do the oil dirt pollution sweat, but also it helps remove the smell as well, because remember it's a year of not washing her hair and she hasn't combed her hair in one year. I didn't even think about that. Obviously, it's not going to smell the greatest, and you know you want to get it clean before you then go in there and try to detangle everything so she's, trying to extremely clarify the hair before she begins to actually detangle it, which makes a lot of sense. So right now I'm using my product Shout out to me and I'm trying to wash the Outer Perimeter of it, even though it's not going to get in the inside, but you still want to work with a kind of clean surface. So I did that we're just rinsing all that stuff off these are all the products I use. I want to see which one would work best for her hair type, so she obviously uses a bunch of conditioning sprays of all kinds. Uh and that's the technique clarifies it, she washes it. She uses detangling conditioning sprays and she goes in there with her tail comb. She works her way through. So now I'm just trying to see how I'm going to tackle this, because not only is her hair completely matted together, but the back portion is matted together and the top portion is matted together separately and then the outside of it like the perimeter of it. Because I guess it's been a rub against the pillow hair scarf: it's like tight wool, so it was extremely hard to break that barrier. I can't imagine also with coily hair like this. It must just make the detangling process that much harder, because I don't know I just feel like it was. Am I wrong for thinking that um when I finally get into the hair all that oil and dirt's in there so we're just combing through whenever she has a residue? I just go back to the sink with her and I detangle and wash it so we get that build up, because that residue acts like a strong cement. It'S hard to work through it, so I'll go to the shampoo bowl I'll wash it out. I would never know any of this. This is incredible to watch um and she is making her progress through this hair, so I had to start detangling at the shampoo bowl as well to break it up. Put some conditioner see if that works, because I wouldn't know what would work for her hair until I try it um. This is the end of day one. So I was able to get at least 25 of it done 25 of it done baby we're making progress. I feel like I'm in this with you. Look how long her hair is. I barely cut anything like I probably pulled out the scissors twice or the shears twice to cut little small knots without trying to save her hair as much as possible, and this is what I have left to do. But I was happy to get that accomplished, probably took me nine hours in total to do nine hours and she's not even done. I think that was day two as well. Oh, my God, all right now, I'm just whisking her hair down because her hair is trained at this point to be matted. So if you don't separate that and twist it down, it's gon na be matted again. The next day use the rat tail comb. As you can see different ones and different sizes to break up the bad hair, when that part is detangle, I use a detangling comb and also I use the white tube comb. As you see me here once, the hair is completely somewhat detangle guys she's gon na have the most beautiful hair at the end of this, like her hair looks healthy and it looks strong and it looks long. I love it so this is me combing through it, because you know you can't use a rat tail comb for that part, because it's it's too much. So this is day two when I got completed I'm getting there and that part that section off that's hanging out is what I have left to do. So this is day three guys all that white residue is it's all those products that she had in her hair. She tried some things at home before she came to me to see if she can get it detangle, but it wasn't working and no, I don't know if she rinsed it out or not, but it just stayed in there. We got rid of that. If she didn't come to me, she said she's gon na cut her hair off and she didn't want to cut her hair off. You know you just don't want to yes ma'am, I am finished, you did it, you did it, you did it look. How long her hair is guys. Look at the pool and look at her shrinkage. Her shrinkage is real, so I shampooed her hair five times. I did two clarifying, maybe three shampoos of clarifying shampoo and regular shampoo. This is me blow drying. Her hair she's gon na put her hair five times. That is sparkling brand new. I was very gentle when I did her blow dry because imagine three days of detangling. She needed a haircut, so we did a haircut. We did a deep conditioning treatment. We did the whole works for her hair, not only we spent three days of detangling, but I spent three days of pouring life into her. Oh look at me running my fingers to her hair. I can comb my hair now. Please take time you time, take time to love yourself spend time. Self-Care is truly important and it's important to your life find people that can pour into you. This is all the hair. Look at all that hair. It was a half a bag, but look at her hair guys. Look at the shine look how she wanted her hair to be curled, so I curled her hair for her, so just reminded just how she came in y'all see it. You see it just reminder how she came in and how she left. Yes, ma'am. Oh my God. Okay, wait the amount of hair that come out for her head holy, secondly, that before and after holy sh, her luscious beautiful hair at the end holy the shine on her holy sh. Love 518: Thank you so much for sharing my videos. I truly love what I do. It’s a pleasure to help these beautiful souls regain their confidence and life back. BTW I love your reactions videos and told myself one day he will react to my videos and you did manifestation at its finest. Thank you for bringing awareness to this situation and being so understanding. ❤

systemicLIZard: My mom is a hairdresser. Went to school for it. It just so happens that when I’m in a bad depressive episode, my hair is the first thing to get neglected. My worst time was after 6 months of not brushing my hair. I was in hell. I felt so bad. Nothing was interesting. Nothing felt right. And seeing my hair set into the shape of my ponytail just made me so angry with myself. Eventually, I was up and doing things, but I couldn’t even look at myself. My mom spent… about 6-7 hours just untangling my hair. I just sat there in silence. But after that grueling experience… I’ve started to feel so much better. Now my hair is healthy. I brush it every day. We do treatments on it. I’m learning how to care for it. Sometimes, there’s just that one thing.

Rachel Light: When I was in rehab, I met a woman that had matted hair. She told me her story, and said no one could get it untangled, or no one wanted to take the time to help. I told her I could do it for her (we didn't have any rattail combs, just flimsy ones) and it took about 3 hours but was very rewarding for the both of us. This is just one reason why I want to be a hairdresser.

Yasmin Alvarez: I remember my daughter's hair got matted so bad when she was sick and I tried everything from constant conditioning, sprays, and oils - she was also extremely tender headed. The thing that really worked was Morrocan oil, I highly recommend it, it worked immediately.

Gretchen V: This is the part of depression, trauma and/or addiction that people truly don’t understand. It’s so nice to see so much compassion towards people who are just trying their best to survive. ❤

Erin Nanasi: Hadassa isn't just untangling hair, she's healing souls.

Petronella Wessman: This video confirms that Hadassa and Brad are the kind of people that you want as your friends. Supportive, non-judgmental, ready to learn and help when they aren't the experts, and ready to step in and show how it's done when they are.

Fangirl Angela: Hi! As someone who had matted hair for almost 5 years (from my 8th grade year till I graduated high school) I can truly say without a doubt this woman has helped so many people gain their confidence back and helped them feel a sense of relief. I was severely depressed and just didn’t brush my hair. Once it got bad I started to feel bad about myself and wanted to brush it out, it wasn’t that simple. It’s a very painful long process and no matter how long I brushed and what methods I tried on myself it took so long and was just too much for me to do on my own as a teenager. I felt trapped and that made my depression spiral. So I felt upset and was bullied over it all throughout school. My senior year right before I was about to graduate I finally had someone reach out and offer to help me with my hair. She took me to a hair stylist and paid a pretty penny to help me get my hair back to normal hair, and for her and the hair stylist both I am so grateful. They truly were a light in my life because I would have never got to fix it, and was set on shaving it off. You feel so trapped and upset when you have matted hair, it’s almost impossible to be happy. For anyone reading this having matted hair, you’re not alone. I wish more people understood the circumstances people go through. I thought I was the only person in the world who had gone through what I did, and having my hair matted like that as a high schooler. When I saw this video it brought a lot of joy to me to see these people get their hair fixed. If you are struggling with hair matted please don’t give up, please know you’re not alone, and please focus on loving yourself because you are so important, and you are so much more than just your hair. Your hair doesn’t define you, but don’t beat yourself up over it. Things happen and life is hard. You are strong. You are amazing. You are so deserving of happiness.

Amy: I struggle to maintain my hair, it’s so hard, so matting has happened to me a lot. I try to keep my hair shorter so it happens less. I’m grateful to people like this hairdresser who don’t sensationalise, and just do their best to just make people feel better.

Katie Hodgdon: My mom took my great aunt to a hairstylist when she was starting to develop Alzheimer's. She had long hair that was really fine and was basically matted up in a bun. I'm sure the stylist used about 2 bottles of conditioner, but he got it out. I can't imagine how she felt just to get the weight off. Thanks for sharing this video. She really is doing great work!

JJ TheJetPlane: I love that the hairdresser tries to keep the privacy of the client with the floral face covers. It’s so thoughtful and I have a lot of respect for her for doing that!

asher a: as a child, my hair got matted quite bad over the course of 6 ish months from not being cared for and the hairdresser didn't even try to detangle any of it, instead she just chopped it all off. it beings me so much joy to see that there are hairdresser who genuinely care for their clients and are doing what they can to help them!

Old Blue Witch: Doubt Brad will see this but for those wondering: Vinegar does a couple jobs. It softens the build up of minerals that is helping to hold that knot together. The same white limestone that gets on your showerhead will also slowly build up anywhere else including hair. Under ordinary circumstances we're brushing it away, striping it off along with product during washing or it's kept in check by natural oils. These ladies didn't have that over time so the vinegar is helping to soften and loosen the deposits. It also has natural antifungal properties that help fight any hair disorder associated with that condition. _We all harbor fungus. It's part of our natural biome._ In the case of a dark, moist spot with loads of surface area the knot is a perfect home for overgrowth of those normal fungi. The colony will increase the density of the knot and prevent detangling agents from sinking in. Using vinegar kills the fungus on contact adding an additional assist to the process of working clean product into the hair and getting the tangles out. Hope this helped if anyone bothered to read it. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

InAMelz Gaming: I'm gonna be honest, I'm so impatient, when I realized I was letting my long hair get all matted, I just shaved everything to let it grow all new. So good job for all those people who take the time and energy to battle those knots, it's incredible!

lunaria: Watching this just made my morning routine feel like child's play, I have a THICK, CURLY, hair that coils around each other and I've had days in the morning (because when I wake up my hair is a nasty mess of tangled) where I just wanted to not brush my hair, but watching videos like these gives me strength cuz I know I'm not alone.

Lily S: In the rock bottom of my depression last year I didn’t wash my hair for three weeks and it became one giant knot and it was when I sat there crying and trying to brush it out that I realised how bad my mental health had become. I’m so glad this lady is helping others with zero judgement and out of the kindness of her heart. We all deserve another chance and we all deserve hair we can be happy with.

scholargrrl: She is so amazing! Thank you for bringing more awareness!

Amber Howard: It is so interesting bc my daughter and I suffer from tender heads and brushing can be almost a traumatic experience, but my daughter's hair tangles easy, like SO EASY! If I don't brush it 2x a day and braid her hair after each brush, her hair will have a huge knot and ball of hair in the back just like the first women you see. And me having severe depression I don't brush my hair as often as I should sometimes as I am just making sure that my kids are taken care of... But it will also do this now... But I can sympathize with her as addiction is usually fueled by depression or other mental health issues. So proud she is getting help and she found this lady!

baby_ eve: I loved these videos ! When my daughter turned 11 I left it to her to brush through her hair and every day I’d watch her comb it but I didn’t realize that she was only combining the top part of her hair because eventually she ended up with a huge mass of hair underneath a small portion of brushed hair. It got so bad that eventually we had to just shave thru her hair and cut out the gigantic knot. It was so sad and devastating cuz I had never cut her hair at that point. I figured there’s nobody out there that would be able to get thru her knot and they would probably judge her and I. And she was already so embarrassed I didn’t want to put her thru more trauma and she is also very tender headed. Needless to say she actually loved having her hair short and has kept it short for the past 2 yrs. Ty to both of you for making awareness to this situation!

Bree Jackson: The hair detox is great if you’re having an allergic reaction and need to get it OUT. When I found out that my scalp was bleeding because of the coconut in shampoo, I did it twice in a week and it helped SO MUCH.

Lexi Morris: That 2nd clients hair looks amazing, mine gets matted through spending days/weeks in bed with chronic physical pain and poor mental health and the last thing on my mind is brushing me hair. Her hair looks better than mine when I do brush it, wish I could find a hairdresser this talented ❤️

Kamea Blue: I was in a car accident years ago and was basically bedridden for almost 16 months. My hair became clumped up… I had bigger balls of hair than any of the clients shown. One day, I was sick of trying to deal with my hair…I had tried many times to brush my hair out to no avail… so I grabbed a pair of scissors and started chopping. My hair looked awful but I didn’t care because I didn’t have to lay on any of those hair pillow balls anymore. I hated losing the hair but it all grew back.

Kayla Nelson: I remember finding this woman when I got my extensions taken out and 2 hairdressers refused to help me with my matting… She actually gave me the confidence and patience to sit there and do it myself. She’s saved more heads of hair then she even knows! ❤

Rosedarkness: As someone who works at a rehab center, we see a lot of matting from long hospital stays. Being unable to get out of bed and only move your head, matts form on the back and work their way up. Most recently, a woman came in with the back of her head super matted and a coworker and I spent a long time detangling so that they wouldn’t shave her head when she got back to her ALF. Imagine out surprise when it turned out she had waist long hair!

Frances Skylar: Beautiful video! Regarding the use of vinegar: I actually always use vinegar to condition my hair. It's really great! I use baking soda for shampoo, rinse it out, and then vinegar for conditioner. I started because it was more natural, and also cheaper, but I find it that this combination actually makes my hair way nicer and fluffier than regular shampoos and conditioners! Been doing it for 13 years now and never going back. It leaves almost no scent, just smells a bit like rain after ❤ (maybe because rain is technically slightly acidic)

Melissa Kappler: I am a stylist myself and had a client who had bleached her hair while she was living in Trinidad. Idk if it was the water there, or what, but when they moved back to the states 3 months later, she had the whole back matted bad! Took me 3 hours plus a good 4"-5" haircut, we finally fixed it. She was so happy and said she would be able to sleep normally. Such a weird thing how this happens. We wet the hair and put a lot of heavy conditioner on it. Wide tooth comb, bottom up.

Haru Doné: When I was a teenager my mom took me to one of those walk in hair salons because I had a big mat of hair and we just wanted it gone so figured go somewhere where they could hopefully chop it off but make it look somewhat decent. I have thick curly hair and the mat was tucked up by my skin instead of further down near the ends so we were at a loss of what to do. Anyway we go in and the amazing woman who got saddled with me as her client said no, we’re not cutting it. She detangled my hair for nearly 4 hours. She was amazing.

83gemm: Oh my god. The RELIEF they must feel getting that cleaned out. Like I’m vicariously experiencing that feeling. They must just feel so uncomfortable all the time. There’s no break from your own dang scalp. Oh my everything. And I completely get not wanting to just cut it all off. That’s a feeling of loss as opposed to correcting the problem.

Julia Leslie: When I went to rehab at 17, we spent 18 hours taking out my matts. We salvaged all that we could and I could see a part of myself come alive again. The hairdresser that saved my life, her name is Kelly, those 18 hours stripped me of the shame I had on my head, thank you forever Kelly

Anita Smith: Warm water and tons of conditioner thru the center and ends of the section you’re working on will help tremendously. Then just use the end of a comb just like she’s doing. Keeping the section Youre working on “slick” and moisturized helps the hairs slide out of the knot and it detangles much easier, and of course start at the bottom as she’s doing. Amazing job hun!!! ! Really! You are such a blessing to people!!! (Be sure to wet the ends you’re picking! I promise it helps! )

Charlotte Burgess-Auburn: She’s amazing. Thanks for featuring her.

Natalia Ramirez: This happened to my hair, and it formed 2 balls it got so bad I just cut it off completely and started new. It was so reliving. I was depressed and did not care about myself, and as someone who has natural dense curly hair, it was a mess.

Free2016: I can't imagine how much this cost! Kudos to this true hair expert!!!

Natascha Rose: Apple cider vinegar mixed with water actually helps getting rid of tangles! I’ve been using it in my hair as a rinse for quite some weeks now and I barely have to brush it after my hair has dried, it’s wonderful☺️ I have no clue about the science behind it but it for me it works!

shell-marie bpd: I get what I call "depression hair" which when you go through a spell of depression and you don't brush your hair properly because you can't even get out of bed for weeks at a time, I completely sympathise. Everybody has their problems and it's so sad if you get judged for this. Good for those who understand, and help! X

Nikky Miller-Crook: Just been sat watching this video combing the start of a mat out of my own hair, 2 days in bed with covid is all it took. Was lovely watching this these women have their hair combed out.

Natalie E: The back of my head would begin doing this every night. When I woke up in the morning it was a good 30mins-1hour of picking my hair. I found that doing it with my bare hands helped with the pain and how much hair I would lose. I would try different hair styles to see if it would stop it from happening but no luck. The trick I found out that stopped it was a silk pillowcase. My savior, my hair was thinning in the back because it happened so much.

Gwynne Virts: I have a friend who was in a depressive episode and couldn’t shower because it scared her. She would go weeks without showering and the amount of hair she pulled out when she did shower freaked her out. I just talked to her about how much hair you lose on a daily basis and it’s ok to lose hair. It changed her whole outlook.

Dilean Torres: I’d love to see a reaction on people getting lice out of peoples scalps

Ashley Kelly: I hope different racial hair communities continue to mix because there’s so many tips we can use to help each other.

Cassidy Franzen: I am so happy for these ladies!!!!

Luna Rose Wolf: I myself tend to find small matted sections in my own hair from time to time. I've never like brushing my hair, and I've had depression for majority of my life, but every time I find a matted part of my hair, I sit down and detangle my hand. I've always been good at knots, and to me, detangling hair is like undoing tight little knots. I never new it was normal to lose strands of hair every day! I've always gotten scared & depressed about hair stands coming out whenever I shower & wash my hair, but now going forward I'll keep that fact in mind

Meagan Clark: When I was in cosmetology school i had a husband who brought his wife in (both old enough to be my grandparents (late 60s early 70s). She had suffered a stroke and could no longer do self care and this poor man tried his best to take care of her but couldnt take care of her hair and when she came in her entire head was matted and there was all kinds of debris in it because he had issues washing it with all the knots. I spent 2 sessions (about 4-5 hours each time detangling her hair, shampoo and conditioning, and re-dying her roots and the look on her face made me feel like i did something special. People go through all kinds of trauma and life situations and the amount of joy that can come from just the basics is amazing. This woman is amazing for the help she is giving people <3

ChasehaWing: The biggest knot I ever had was in middle school. I don't even know how it got so bad in one day but it was in the middle of my head and could be seen from afar... I ended up just tearing it out with my fingers. (Grab base of knot. And tear.) So its really sad that people have to go through worse, and really nice this stylist helps detangle it for them.

lucy Johnson: That woman deserves the world she’s giving people their lives n confidence back people don’t truly get how much that means

shona Malapelli: I am so tender headed.... I'd have shaved it all off before going thru 15 hours if migraines lol. Good for her to get thru it and still have her gorgeous hair

Eva: Brad, ur hair is so 80’s and I’m LOVING it! I wish men would start rocking this look again, it is so HOT

seniorenyore: from what i've heard, apple cidar vinegar dissolves dirt and product build up. a lot of folks use it on dreads. So i imagine a lot of skin cells, dirt, product, and whatever else is built up in there which would be removed, would loosen the hair up to make it easier to detangle.

Tsarina24 Honolulu: Happened to me after I got covid. It was so quick and my hair is very long. It took hours to fix and some was cut. Horrible experience.

missolivehead: I did this for a friend who was in an abusive situation and extremely depressed. Took a few days of her coming over and me working through it, but we saved her hair! She had hair down to her butt which made it extra challenging. Definitely a long but rewarding process.

Kessa Why: Hadassah is a Hebrew name that has one meaning of “joy”. This lovely woman is definitely living up to her name.

Patricia Faith: Whenever I was a kid I lived in what people would call a trap house, my mother was married to a drug dealer, and every day there was parties and people just having sex everywhere and drugs. My mom was too focused on her party drug life to tend to her six children, all of my back teeth was rotted out and my hair was completely matted. I have curly hair. It was three big mats up underneath in the back. I wish this girl could have been here to save me when I was 9. Because my stepmom just cut all my hair off when I moved to my dad's. I'd had mats in my hair several times before and I knew that I could fix it but she wouldn't let me. She was a terrible stepmom not for this reason, but for many many more. I wish I would have had the opportunity to live like a normal child. But even whenever I got into a normal life I walked around looking like a boy with really cut short curly hair that doesn't look good by the way

Nikki S: Wow, this was so beautiful ❤

mia solala: i really feel this and what she said about people judging her at 03:40 . my sister has very similar hair and its crazy how fast it gets tangled. just brushing through simply isn't enough. she had a car accident a few years ago and was in the hospital with a fractured arm and shoulder. she couldn't wash or even brush her hair and in week two she had a hairball like this - maybe a bit smaller - on the back of her head. after she could stand up and take the first shower in a week, i must have combed, sprayed, creamed and braided her hair for hours to kinda fix the chaos. after that i no longer envied her beautiful mane. i have a low-maintanance curly bob and i'm so glad about it. respect to all the passionate and patient hair-experts out there!

Tina Taylor: I'm obsessed with that woman's channel. She's so sweet and obviously amazing at what she does. She's so positive, and never ever shames her clients for their hair's condition, and urges empathy from her viewers. As I'm getting older, and the world is just more and more messed up, I really enjoy watching all of these positive videos, it's part of MY self care!

TheCherryHomemaker: My daughters is crazy tender headed too and her hair is insanely thick and can get a knot like that after three days of not brushing every time she comes back from her dads we go through this horror

Shawn Jones: Where was this knowledge hiding when i went through my hair mess? LOL wow. I had gone through chemo and lost all my hair almost immediately. I spent the next 2 years trying to recover but the cancer medication they put me on for 5 years gave me a chemically induced depression i couldn't shake. I didn't cope. After 2 years of depression i ended up with full organ failure..and then in an "old folks home" for 6 months. I was barely conscious for for the first two months. My hair that was 2 years of growth became matted to my head. It was like a helmet. I had pieces I could comb. But nothing. I went to every hair dresser in town. I had to shave my head yet again and start over . I had shaved after chemo when it started falling out as I didn't want to traumatize my kids with hair on the pillows. I finally have my hair back nearly 9 years after my diagnosis and recovery. I swear God blessed me with my life, my kids and my hair. AND still no gray except a few bride of Frankenstein stripes lol. Guess that's what happens when you come back in to the world. God Bless thos that help people recover from their trauma. There is a special place in heaven for angels like these.

Veronika: I was really depressed and didn’t brush my hair for almost 10 months and didn’t realise it was depression at first but when it had been 4-5 months i couldn’t myself untangle it so i just gave up cuz i felt ashamed and then i just kept it that way. My mom finally realised and just cut it of, mind u i had really long hair and she just cut it of and i cried for hours after that. Now it’s been a little over a year and i’m doing soo much better.

Mim Mim: I didn't know this was a thing BUT I'm super good at detangling hair!!!! I could do this for days, I'm good at detangling jewelry too, lol!

Kaitlin M: i love that brad always admits and is excited that there's always more he can learn about the craft that he loves so much! thats honestly super inspiring to me

snowwhite7341: This happened to me. Suffice it to say no one brushes your hair when you’re in a coma with Covid. Even when I woke up I couldn’t have anyone visit to help with my hair and I was too weak to do it myself. My hair was down to my waist and it was tangled in a ball up to my neck. My physical therapist ended up using brushing my hair out as physical therapy!

Austin Franklin: My mother in law had a huge ball of tangle that looked like the first lady. She asked me to untangle it for her. I asked her how long it had been like that, and she said for a few months. So, from start to finish it took me 3 whole hours to get that ball out of her hair. Her hair is down to her butt. All I had to work with was a spray bottle of water, a bottle of leave in conditioner, and a detangle comb. I felt horrible, because it hurt her head so much cause I had to pull tiny pieces of hair out of the knot at a time. She was begging for me to just cut it, but I couldn't bear for her to lose her long hair, so we got through it with a few little breaks and crying. It was mostly hair that had shedded off and gotten tangled. I did the best I could, and got that knot completely out, she didn't have any bald spots, but I'd say about an inch diameter piece of hair broke off to about her shoulders. Her hair is saved, and she is so happy that I didn't have to cut it. It was hell though lol

e c: i have chronic condition, i literally some days have no physical or mental energy to comb my own hair some days. and it ends up tangling bad overnight. been using your products to hopefully repair so it wont be so easy to tangle. well family is supposed to help me on days i cant and never do so it ends up being bad by day i can do my hair, ended up chopping hair off so now its currently a major choppy cut. some would not think that happens but it does more then you think. wish i had literally someone like her to do hair instead of having to chop it, now wish had way to fix this choppy cut. but it likely not be last time being how family is with not helping me with things it ends up being a issue every week or sometimes month thanks to how it goes. for whatever reason the bottom layer its easier. more times it happens worse my head handles it. would be nice if family did what they said or promised when i dont have control with my conditions

Robin-leigh Solomons: Being a new mom , and having curly hair…. It’s so easy to “neglect “ one’s locks . Life gets in the way . And my hair got so matted when I detangled it so much of it broke off. So don’t ever judge people… it’s not intended to get that far . I’m so glad these ladies managed to get their hair saved by a hair angel.

Kathleen Green: Every one of the ladies hair was gorgeous ❣️

xSimplyRose: My mom was bed ridden for a very long time when I was younger and had this same problem she wasn’t able to get up and brush her hair, the rehabilitation center she was in they did not care very much about her to help her out with hygiene and refused to attempt to help her. As a kid the court did not allow me to see her often so I could not help her much so when she got out she ended up having to cut it short. I wish back then she had the resources to find someone who could do this for her! this honestly warms my heart

Tiana312: The woman whose channel he's featuring is one of the sweetest people on YT period. I've followed her since the beginning and shes really the kind of person that I'd aspire to be more like. Shes nonjudgmental and does this from a place of love. Wishing her nothing but the best as well as her clients. It takes a special person to do the things shes doing for these women.

Pretty little Penny: Addressing the apple cider vinegar…..it helps close the cuticles in the hair shafts so they slide instead of bind against each other. Much like conditioner.

Cassie Woods: I have very curly hair, and it tangles so bad it will become matted in like 2 days of not brushing it. I get so depressed that I don't brush it on weeks end, and it hurts so bad to detangle it. In my experience wearing my hair up makes it mat more than any other style.

Michelle Colonell: My hair is past my buttocks. Thank you for saying, "People do not know what others are going through. Unfortunately, I have been wrapping my hair up due to an individual in my life pressuring me for $ from me & rushing me to the bank to retrieve a certain amount of $ he feels he deserves for taking care of my daughter & myself(his girlfriend). Who does this? What strong woman allows themselves to hurry to go keep attempting to retrieve a pay back that was not ever discussed. I'm very angry with myself & I need help detangling this 2&1/2month disaster on top of my head. My hair or anyone's hair is part of their self-esteem. I disgust myself for allowing my morals & values to drop for a superficial person in my daughter's & my life. Message to any man who does not know how to LOVE unconditionally.... as my daughter noticed & stated to me, " Mom, why does he think b/c he is buying us little things is loving us? What happened to the guy we used to know who does fun little trips to movies, just walk the mall or go shoot basketballs?" I said, " It's someone who knows mommy had something I didn't even know I had or could touch....Men, love your women for who they are, what they do for you & how they love you with NO conditions........

Mater Multis: Ah. Two products for detangling that I've used, pure argan oil or soft hair wax. Wash and condition like you're washing a sweater then start... It works and it can be done. A little bit at a time.

fla la: What a Lovely empathetic Lady ❤

Slayer Princess: This stylist must be an angel. So skilled, so patient, and so encouraging! I’m inspired. Imagine how much these ladies lives were changed through her kindness and healing ❤

Violexie0071: The apple cider vinegar is a clarifying agent that removes buildup and product. This can then make the hair easier to detangeled with added conditioner

Catherine Hackler: I’m someone with extremely tangle prone hair. No amount of product would help it keep from being tangled, it would just create rat balls for no reason daily. But then I realized that sleeping in a protective style such as a braid really helps to prevent the knots from happening.

Joanne Elliott: Me r/n with extremely matted hair at the back. My hairs natural curly/thick so it's horrific. Already spent 4 hours plus over the past 2 days to untangle and I'm no where near done. Been in a depressive rut for 3 months so hairs been neglected for that long. Just shoved in a mum bun

Keeley Lindley: It brings back so many bad memories seeing this, because the first thing to happen when I was younger when I was in depression stage was my hair, what makes it worse I have curly hair so I don’t brush my hair every day so this means I have to wash it more often so it doesn’t end up like this, but when i was younger i didn’t know how to take care of my curly hair I still I’m not 100% now I just do what feel nice for my hair and scalp and also when I younger I could barely get out of bed or I would just lay on the sofa all day and not move and the only reason it didn’t get this bad is because I had family around mostly and mum and sister telling me go and have a shower and i will brush you hair and back then I didn’t know but now I know how grateful I am for that! because it was one less thing on your mind because you know it’s there and you hate but doing it lot harder than saying it plus didn’t help that I am also tender headed! never judge someone hair or anything has you don’t know what they going through!

dessy spasova: Hello from Bulgaria. About the vinegar - My grandmother passed away recently at age 89. All her life, grandmother washed her hair with homemade soap and then rinsed it with vinegar water (vinegar and water 1:1). Grandma had the most unique hair in the world. Shiny and soft as silk. Even when she was completely white, her hair was shiny. I have tried it on my hair, it becomes softer and it definitely felt much cleaner. However, I don't have the patience and dedication to do it every wash. p.s. For me, homemade soap is a NO NO. My scalp reacts terribly and my hair becomes dry, I guess it's too strong for me.

Ruthy Morales: That woman deserves an award!!! She is a saint!!!!! The fact that anyone else would just say "cut it off" and she's like no, I can save your hair!!! Beyond awesome!!! God bless those hands!!!

GamerOfEdge: This is why I'm studying to be a hairdresser <3

Chelsey🖤: This makes me feel less alone. Im a recovering addict as well and suffer from really bad depression, especially since my husband passed away last year. I've got 3 small kids to take care of so honestly caring for myself is usually the last thing on my mind. Thankfully my hair hasn't gotten to this point yet but I haven't had a proper haircut in probably 4 or 5 years. I trim it every now and then but it's gotten so thick and damaged. Everytime I brush it I pull out so much hair. I have to clean out my brush probably 10 times before im done brushing it. I wear it in a Ponytail everyday just cause It seems to keep it from getting too tangled but I feel so bad about myself most days. My teeth have also suffered greatly because of my mental health and honestly make me embarrassed to even leave the house a lot of times. Hopefully I'll be able to save up enough money soon to get my teeth fixed and get my hair done as well. I can't wait! I know these lady's probably have so much more confidence now and that's such a wonderful thing!

gray nano: I had hair down to my waist....when I finally pulled myself out of the addiction and depression I was in, I ended up having to get most of it cut off....I was able to get clean and pull myself together by myself so my hair being gone was kind of liberating and made me feel like I was a completely new person who was proud of herself for the first time in her life.

Mari Lin: My hair used to get tangled a LOT as a kid. This brought back memories of sitting down with my mom, a brush, and detangling spray. Luckily I brush my hair a lot more frequently as an adult. Unfortunately, there are days where my depression gets the better of me and it gets knotted again. This woman is amazing and has incredible patience. She has bettered the world in a way many people may not be able to understand.

sophiablade: I have extremely curly hair and it gets super matted in just 3 days. Seeing this makes my heart warm and I’m grateful for people like this lady. Mad respect for her

flowerfan70: What a wonderful person the hairdresser is She treats all of her clients with such kindness and respect

Heidi K --- Indigomoomdrops: God Bless her. I want to hug her. Sending love and light.

lunar Skies: Gosh. Kinda makes me sad because my mom is getting older and she refused to brush her hair and I recently moved from my home state of Colorado and I was the one who did treatments and conditioned her hair and would also comb it out.

jaemin’s socks: Growing up I refused to brush my hair! I can’t sand when it’s pulled, so for the longest time I had this huge knot in the back of my head and i hated it! People made fun of me and I got teased a lot, so one day I brushed it all out! Honestly the best decision I ever made!

Tetiana Arnautova: I have a thin hair and its easily gets tangled as it grows longer. I love long hair but its too much pain to comb it. Wake up after sleep - a mess on the back. Got it cut because I did't have the patience to deal with it.

Mama_B_75: What she said about depression manifesting in different ways, is so true! Mine came out in the form of picking my skin. My legs are covered in scars that look like mosquito bites, some are pretty deep too! I love this womans attitude, she is awesome! ❤

Nickle Pickle: Lots of disabled people have to get their hair detangled glad everyone here is being respectful ❤

Nixxi Knoxx: I went through a depressed stage where I didn't wash or brush my hair for two weeks, I would just throw it up in a bun. When I finally brushed it out I had a lump of hair the size of my palm. You don't know what people are going through, always be kind. ♥️

Nicole Roggenbauer: Omg I am a CNA at a LTC/rehab facility and I can't tell you how many patients I've had admitted in the last 2 years with their hair looking this way after a long hospital stay due to COVID-19. Some had been intubated and in ICU definitely hair wasn't the priority while they were understaffed in the hospitals trying to save lives. Some I was able to untangle, and unfortunately I have given many haircuts myself. No training. Just a caring nursing staff doing our best. Much love to anyone helping these people save their hair

Jenna Gets Creative: I LOVE that last "after" hairstyle! Any time you do any smoothing on 4C hair to put it in a style the texture that stays catches the light like a million little diamonds. My best friend has 4C hair and I think she would slay that style! Honestly though, she slays any style and any weave I've ever seen on her.

BakeXlove: I don't ever talk about this, but given the topic of this video and the fact that these women shared their stories and put themselves out there, I just want other people who may experience or have experienced a similar journey to know that they are not alone like I thought I was. I went through a time where I was living out of a car with a friend, struggling with addiction. I didn't shower for a few weeks and had given up on life. I was extremely depressed. I had long, thick curly hair and not maintaining it, it ended up where I couldn't brush it out. I covered my hair and was so embarrassed and ashamed. My hair started to fall out and I ended up having to come to the realization that I had lost my long curly hair, which was the one thing I actually liked about myself. I felt so alone like who lets this happen to them I thought? I eventually realized that I needed to not let this weigh me down and accept whatever I had to do to let it go even if it meant shaving it off. I cut off my hair myself and luckily at that point, my hair had grown back in the parts it had fallen out. It's been almost 2 years since I cut my hair and it's back to how it was before. It was a very long, lonely journey. So to those of you who are going through something similar, I know it is hard to have to let go, face yourself and be vulnerable to the world, but I promise you, it is worth it in the end. You don't have to be alone. There are people that care and who won't judge even though it may seem like there's nobody at all who understands. I know I went through this for a reason. I've learned so much by having to confront myself. It'll be okay. If someone like me can go through it, then I know you can.

Kaitlyn Zebell: I had a knot I thought was gum on time after one night of sleep and probably didn’t brush it before bed. But I could have dreads in a week effortlessly

Jamie Snodgrass: Wow she's amazing!!

J B: This entire video is feel goof vibes. Hadassa is am ANGEL

Fae A.: Sometimes taking care of yourself is so overwhelming when you're dealing with so much already. It's so wonderful that Hadassa is there to help people who can't manage and get them to a place where they can.

Sally Waites: I must say, it is fun watching you learning about a side of hair dressing that you don't know much about. The whole detangling thing is often a very emotional process. People get in these situations because they've been through something huge. Trauma, loss, depression, so having someone put so much time into helping you get back to your best self is a big moment. Even if you are paying them.
