I think things only become truly iconic with the passage of time hello. Today, diana i'm gon na give you a very cool, easy update. Yeah, it was never a dream to be a hairstylist. I was always interested in fashion. I'M gon na give you a light film of modern hairspray, because that's gon na help when i use the curling irons on your hair in uk in the 70s fashion, was a massive deal even in the provinces in scotland, where i grew up. So i'm just gon na very gently give you hair a bit of body with some curling irons and the modern hairspray should help it to hold a little bit. I started working for vogue. I think 77 78, just before that most models had done their own hair and makeup. When i came along in the late 70s, it was the beginning of a hairdresser being used on every fashion shoot for the magazine. I'M doing this to diana's hair because it's very sort of very long, very heavy and very silky, but if we get a little bit of body first with the modern hairspray that will give us a good base. Fashion shows which had really previously been trade. Events suddenly exploded onto our tv screens and mtv, and suddenly we were reading about models and reading about backstage and stuff people had never seen before, so it really opened up, and that happened really quick. I'M going to take some of our happy endings nourishing balm and i'm just going to put it through the mid lengths and the ends to give it some shine and a little separation when you say iconic fashion moments. What springs, to my mind, is the supermodel. You are naomi, linda christie, tatiana cindy hate. Those images will be imprinted on a generation. I was really really thrilled and happy to be part of that. I'M just gon na run away tooth comb through your hair, and that looks amazing. I'Ve always worked backstage at fashion shows. The pressure is really much much stronger now than it ever was before the big change came along with the internet. You have to be part of this. Almost like a performance. You have to do the hair as well, but you have to perform in many other ways, i'm going to just separate some of the hairline out now, i'm using a wide tooth comb, because i don't want your hair to get too brushed out and fluffy. Now i want to get the roots i am changing to a brush. I love the whole process of doing hair for shows it's about collaboration. Everything has to work together. It'S the people thing, the mix of the people, and it all coming together is, is just a joy. I'M going to pile it high. On top i'm going to do a simple, high ponytail and again it doesn't have to be perfect. I'M just going to put this through the elastic a couple of times and the third time i'm going to do it halfway and make a little messy bun on top, what's possible today that hasn't existed before is that i can be here in my studio with a Light and a phone and create images which i can send on my phone 20 minutes later, the immediacy and the kind of freedom to do that is just game. Changing i'm gon na take some easy, updo spray. The easy updo will stop the pins from sliding out of your hair and i'm just doing a little hairspray to keep the hairline clean. I'M gon na give you a princess kind of audrey hair brand kind of look so diana there's your easy updo. What do you think i, like it good, yeah relief? I think when we make a how-to film, i try to keep it really simple. I try to be completely honest and use the products only if you can see a difference. Hi, marco, hey, jay, good! Thank you. How do you fancy some cool girl waves today, yeah i'm going to give you a little love our very light oil is called love me do so i'm going to give you hair a little oil for shine, see that shine already oh yeah yeah. I i feel that i deliberately continue to reinvent myself. You know, because this business is always moving forward. Recently we put into production a product line, we've been working on for quite a few years. I'M just going to use a little tiny spritz of modern hairspray just to give it a little bit of hold well, the heat is on it and then i'm waving these in alternate directions. I'Ve been working for big brands for many many years constantly. I'Ve always thought in the back of my mind, i need to do my own, i'm so sucked up into this business and so busy. There was never any time for anything and a few years ago i thought no, i'm gon na switch. This we're gon na make the products my main concern. So that's what we've done. We focused, i think, when you're watching tutorial, trying really hard to copy it perfectly. What you need to take away from it is the key tips, the key information, the key products and make it your own, because your hair's never going to be the same as somebody else's. You know backstage time is of the essence, so we need products that work really quickly. I made four dry styling products that were instantly transformative, a hairspray. We called modern hairspray because it's not like the old hairsprays, it's so soft. It really works, though, and it brushes out it's multitasking. I can use it to slick hair. I can use it to back comb. I can use it for volume, it's the one that i would not go to work without i'm going to put a little happy endings in through the ends, just to give it a little more texture. Happy ending is more of a nourishing bone, but it's a kind of d fluff or a de-frizz there. I think this is a bit too wavy, so i'm just going to get the hair dryer stretch it out a little bit so i'll leave it to cool down a few seconds. What does the cooling do it sets it up and when i let it go, the waves are much less. I like real hair. I like how that appears to be natural. I saw there was room in the market for lightweight products that really worked easy for consumers to use they're easier for them to understand. So i think we've got a great wave going there lots of volume lots of shine. I was about to say that it feels very voluminous and then i'm gon na do a final spritz of our curl girl, textualizer just to mess it up a bit just for a little more volume, a little more rock and roll. We also developed some cleansing cloths. It'S an alternative to dry shampoo, wipe the grease off your hair. Another easy quick fix. Look at those cool girl ways. What do you think i love them? They'Re, really good! So good! Look at that volume! Amazing! Amazing! I'M all about the quick fixes, i'm not about the something that takes half an hour, will turn your hair into the texture of a carpet. It'S about beauty! It'S about simplicity,
